Maybe when they find a way to implement killer bots into custom game, when can get something like this.

It could definitely benefit the game if done right, however if not careful then it could potential affect queue times for the game mode we already have.

I appreciate the open mindedness. It would probably need time to lift off but if it got thrown around it could be played with bots only with full progression to boot, give it time to flourish and queue times would be the least of anyone's concern. I just hope they'll update us soon on when bots get a proper update since they're adding them bit by bit. Mobile's already there and that was free. The PC version should be ahead.

It's certainly better than nothing, but really? Zero bloodpoints? Even if you bring perks or offerings that give BP? Like, I get the "no xp, no shards" thing, I GUESS, but not even 1/2 BP?

And, I assume, bot games won't let you finish Tome Challenges or Daily Rituals either? Super disappointing.

Bear in mind, they said the bots are only being added to custom games so in a way it makes sense. Doesn't change how disappointing it is though. We NEED a official VS AI mode that's unranked and doesn't give you the choice of what AI you go up against. Like a real match.

I think it makes sense that you won't be able to do challenges or achievements while you're in a custom game, but I would like to see some bloodpoints and XP. Maybe at a reduced rate, like 50%? That seems fair to me.

In a custom game, absolutely. But I feel like we do need a official unranked mode that can put you with human survivors if you play as survivor against a random AI killer with random perks who plays tough. While also being a killer against AI survivors with random perks. A mode like that should provide BP, XP and challenge/rift completion. With the supposed 'new tutorial' that was mentioned we can hope.

Even just something like a slower rate of progression for bot matches would be fine, imo.

It's a lot better than nothing to have bot matches at all, however.

Yeah don't get me wrong I am super happy we're finally getting bots. Its just...Not quite enough. Then again, apparently we're getting a new tutorial as well. Maybe that might be the actual vs bot mode perhaps?

  • If they could fully implement a VS AI mode similar to that of For Honour where you get full progression such as being able to do the tome challenges and be able to progress the rift (but its unranked) and can go against any AI survivors or killers (as a survivor maybe even have player teammates like friends for it) I'd be back to playing this game in a heartbeat and tell my friends to tag along for it.

  • Absolutely agree with this post. I feel like it shouldn't just end with bloodpoint rewards but if it rewarded rift progression as well, not only would it draw in newer players for a more welcoming experience until they feel ready to leave the nest but it can act as a alternate way to play the game without the stress and competitive, toxic environment that follows with it! Its more incentive for people to play the game, maybe spend money on the rift pass (and cosmetics) and they can enjoy the game without as much frustration. Its a win win for the players and BHVR. Just wish they'd realize that.

Ever since the developer update I've been discussing in these forums how excited I was for the offline bot matches. I figured that no mods or developers stepped in to say anything because it wasn't warranted since it was happening. Little did I know that the reason why nothing was said was because most likely the bot matches got delayed, or worse scrapped, and they didn't want to continue pissing people off (which is something they're rather good at).

Resident Evil was one of the worst bug-filled chapters that BHVR has ever released. I mean, the new map was literally unplayable for over a month (and that's not including the poor performance affecting consoles), and now they either straight up lied about the bot matches, or it's been delayed/canceled and they don't care to say anything. I can only speak for myself, but I am so tired of supporting this game. I feel like I keep stepping back into an abusive relationship because I'm trying to convince myself that one day "they'll be better". LOL

Its one of the reasons I stopped playing this game on top of always being the first to die in survivor matches because every single killer and their mom love to tunnel me to death (I only try to do gens, heal teammates and unhook when necessary. Hell, I even tried to switch characters to see if that'd help but nope) so the idea of having a bot match that may actually give rewards for playing was more than enough reason to come back but once again, these dumbass devs would rather stay competitive like every game company ever when a bot mode with progression would be scoring them not only more players but also revenue because there would be incentive to complete the rifts and their challenges in the bot mode.

  • Cool so they lied....As usual.

No, dont be afraid. and get in there, learn the game and earn the blood.

Please stop suggesting ideas that will sabotage the queue times.

@Power_Guy The Bloodpoint economy is the relationship and balance between bloodpoints gained through matches, player skill, cost of item, addon, perks. If you listen to the streams where they have the ingame currency economist on, he talks about it. This is the reason why we dont see so many double bloodpoints events anymore, like we used to. Its bad for the balance.

    'Sabotage the queue times'

The queue times are already bad enough. Besides, there's dozens of players playing this game now so a bot mode wouldn't just sabotage the queue times. If anything, it would bring more players in since it means more incentive to play the game without frustration and if they feel daring, they can take shots at actual matches which in turn, wouldn't sabotage the queue times. Stop suggesting such a good idea could sabotage a queue time that is already bad and on top of that is a game that has reached a point where its not a small game anymore.

Oh gosh I hope he doesn't return because of that lmao. Idk if you read the rest of his replies back and forth but dude refused to admit whats clear of him just being his own reason for not being able to relax in any games casual modes.

Sadly there's just so many of these whiny people in the gaming community as a whole these days. Fuelled by nothing but toxic competitive PvP and anything else and they have to prattle on and on about how bad PvE is and how it 'ruins' their experience when it would otherwise actually improve diversity and bring more players and revenue for those who want such an experience. Just think how good DbD would be if a bot mode (and/or players (maybe even friends) vs AI killers) would be especially if you can earn bloodpoints and earn rift shards. That way, everyone could play it and also it'd be a good way to break away from a bad match streak. I'd actually pay for the rift passes and dedicate my time to the game again if they just made it a option. About 95% of the time I spend playing PvE in games alot of the time folks either get by or are actually friendly through the whole match.

I am reading what you are saying; it is a pipe dream. It doesn't exist. As to whether or not I play in competitive formats, I gravitate toward them. I live for them. I'm one of the most competitive people you are ever going to talk to here or anywhere else. Perhaps what is odd about me is that I largely am competing with myself. At the end of the day, you are all just Bots to me. I'm trying to beat my last best record, not you.

In regards to PvP games, I'm simply more pragmatic than you are in this matter. Games are not MADE casual by the designers. They are only as relaxed as the Players engaged in them. This is a huge player base in a PvP game. That means most matches are going to be hard fought by one or more of the people involved. The only time you are going to hit a casual game is when matchmaking puts you up against someone you should not be playing. That is reality.

I've pointed this out before, and I will again many times I'm sure. If you want specific limits, choose CUSTOM GAME and get together with like-minded individuals. You can play as casual/chill/relaxed/easy-going/etc. as you want. DbD has given you this mode already. Go use it. Quit trying to insist the rest of us have to cater to YOU. You have the option; use it.

Hey guys I found the PvP Elitist.

It is hard, making unique AI for each existing and future killer power and perk. Maybe they can create a generic killer for offline games.

They could do it for mobile and that was on a tiny device which was free. I see absolutely no reason for it to be on PC as well. Way I see it you're just looking for this game to just be exclusively for PvP. I've been seeing comments like yours far and wide and its becoming more and more invalid because I've been seeing BHVR slowly and gradually improving from making the AI unique. Honestly just try the mobile practice mode and see for yourself how dangerous the AI killers are. There's NOTHING to lose from having a bot mode with 50% BP and potential rift shard progression. If anything, it'd bring in far more players and revenue for BHVR.

  • @Maxthewicked100 said:

I STRONGLY agree with your statement. On top of that, if rift shard progression was included, I think that'd give players more incentive to buy the rift pass and play in that way which means more players and more income for BHVR. They'd have nothing to lose by including reduced BP and rift shards in the bot mode.

I do disagree with the perk suggestion you made however. They could just make it so you unlock it as normal or alternatively make a offline progression system that is separate from the ranked online mode.

If they implement a PvE mode everyone will be happy. no more complaints about the killers or survivors play styles, tbagging, hitting survivors on the hook and alot more fun stuff with no complaints and consequences. that would be perfect!

I second this so damn much. The game would be severely less toxic.

  • @tt_ivi_99 said:

There's this thing called offerings. Also, the minimum distance between hooks changes depending on the maps, check The Game and you'll see that hooks are terrible for killers there.

I sometimes play Kill your Friends with some buddies and as survivors we often bring a stack of 3-4 offerings that spread the hooks. Does it work? No of course it doesn't because even with that I still see hooks VERY close to one another. The system SHOULDN'T have to 'break the rules' because that to me looks like the game is just in favour of the killer and is therefore imbalanced.
