  • If it's in your BHVR account under owned games go to DBD (on BHVR account) and scroll to the bottom you should be able to redeem your rewards and pick your platform. You'll get them in game after that.

  • I thought every killer was now slugging because hooks are worthless? I wish people would make up their minds 🤣

  • Lacks the type of flow I enjoy when playing killer. As others have mentioned he feels quite clunky. I can't say any of his abilities really clicked with me in there current state. I'm sure you can make him work if you're willing to put some effort into learning the wolf hug tech and what loops you can and can't use his fire ability on. He's not exciting enough for me personally to invest any time into.

If they changed his transitions to be a bit faster with less slows and CDs after switching form I might give him another bash.

I tried it a few times tonight and its hit or miss, but survivors are definitely not liking it. But it really feels like its more effective then hooking, and that is REALLY bad and not what this game should revolve around.

BHVR, please make hooks viable and strong again. But knowing them, they would sooner add another minute to the bleedout timer, totally misjudging the problem at hand.

BTW, I got called a "true talent kinda killer". Lol, thats a new one.

People certainly do hate it. I tried it on a few different killers tonight just to gauge how effective it was and it's pretty oppressive for solo queue and even SWF not on comms. Reactions seem to be quite different depending on what killer you play. Dredge seemed to be the killer that received fairly positive end game chat with one person saying it was fun. Wraith, Skull Merchant & Billy got abused. Pinhead seemed neutral.

I think if you straight up just slug all 4 people and let them bleed out it's problematic & toxic, but if you slug 3 people and start hooking and give them a chance to recover and find the totems it can actually lead to some pretty intense games with a lot of action. As a killer it's also more fun that way because you're pretty much in chase mode for the entire game.

Love it or hate it, it's a valid strat with perks that are designed to do just what it says on the box. Its fairly useless versus a decent SWF on comms, but you can say that about any perk combo that is completely negated by having voice chat.

  • I hate playing against Legion, but I quite like playing as Legion.

I think a lot of people hate Legion. When I play Legion, I can go 3-4 games straight and people will give up straight away.

  • There's a large % of solo queue survivors that will just go to second stage if you don't rescue them within 20-30 seconds. It happens all the time, even when the team is on track to win.

  • Solo queue sucks really badly just now. I can honestly say that I probably have 1 match out of 10 that I actually enjoy. Most of the games have at least 1-2 people DCing, even when it looks like we might win.

I feel solo queue has been neglected for so long now that the damage caused to the morale of the solo queue exclusive playerbase is damaged beyond repair. It's going to take a lot of work and time to change that rage quit mindset. It's very common in Killer games also. I would definitely say around 60% of my games people DC. Theres certain Killers that you can't even play with now because people just straight up refuse to play against.

  • I can't see it having much impact in solo queue due to 90% of survivors forcing stage 2 if you don't rescue them within 30 seconds.

It will have a big impact in SWF games though. A coordinated, efficient team basically gets an extra 30 seconds of gen time before they even have to think about going for the save.

I really don't like changes or perks that literally do nothing for solo queue, but buff SWF massively. I don't think it's healthy for the game and just makes the whole balance thing even more of a mess between SWF & Solo queue.

  • Sometimes is would be nice to be the the same room as people like this IRL

  • I've personally already benched Dracula. His gameplay is slow & frustrating with very little flow. The novelty wore off very fast and he's probably going going down the same route as Freddy i.e after a week you'll see him once in a blue moon.

It's a shame really as Dracula is arguably the most iconic horror icon of all time. Can't bash them for trying, but save the experimentation for non licensed killers and start giving iconic licensed killers the attention they deserve. Too many times it's happening these days when licensed killers are either nerfed into oblivion or just left to rot at the bottom of the pile without any changes. If I was the person/company who granted the rights to use the killer in game I would be pretty annoyed.

Wesker was probably the last really good killer that was released that hasn't been overly nerfed to the point of extinction. I would rather have 1 licensed killer per year that is released with unique good solid gameplay than half finished killers who become obselete in less than a month.

  • I think he would be a lot more enjoyable if he transitioned more fluidity into each form without the slows & CDs. He feels like he's meant to be played at a fast pace with a mid to high level skill difficulty, but sadly it really feels quite clunky and his chase gameplay doesn't really flow well with me.

I think due to how he's effectively 3 killers in one it's going to be very difficult to buff or nerf him without making him weak or OP.

I've tried about 10-15 games with him and his flow just isn't clicking with me. It's not even like I'm losing on him that much it just doesn't really feel enjoyable in comparison to almost every other killer in the game.

  • Played another couple of games and he is possibly the worst killer in terms of how his abilities flow in the game. Changing into bat form feels awful with the cool down to transform out of it again. The pounce ability just feels weird and super easy to dodge. You might as well just M1 and use it to bait a dodge. I guess it's okay for breaking pallets but the animation just feels really long afterwards. The pillars of fire feel really bad. Not 100% sure about the mechanics of them but it feels like they just get blocked by random things or stop mid flame.

I get that he's a combination of different killers and needs to have less powerful versions of each ability, but if you make a killer that relies heavily on changing forms all game you really need to make the flow of his gameplay smooth and engaging. Currently it just feels awful and I'll be lucky if I get 10 games out if him before retiring him to the list of Killers I'll probably never play again.

  • Can't say I'm overly impressed with him tbh. Feels rather clunky and unfinished. Never played PTB, so had a few games today with him. Bought the DLC anyway to add to the collection, but can't see me playing him that much.

  • @Doxie said:

15% of the time. What's more common is hook camping. That's like 80% of the time

Yeah proximity camping and going for the hook exchange then straight back to the person who got off the hook is definitely more common than hard tunneling. It's fairly easy to see how extensive it is when using a perk combo like open handed & kindred. If you call someone out for doing this 80% of the time they don't even acknowledge it and get very defensive. I guess because they leave the hook and basically patrol the edges of the hook timer they don't think it's camping.

  • I like running windows, overcome, lucky break & plot twist.

I know overcome is exhaustion but due to it not having any conditions other than taking a hit you never really have to worry about timing or activating it. I always carry a med kit so get 2 full self heals. I pretty much always use plot twist on the first hit to stop the lucky break timer. After that I'll generally get second chase value from lucky break before healing myself. Usually by that point I'll get lucky break stacks back from healing other survivors. If you make it to end game you get another free heal from plot twist.

I generally get pretty consistent value from that build and can easily lose the killer multiple times during a match, especially on maps with lots of LOS blockers.

  • Unfortunately that's a common survivor mindset you encounter every now and again. Most experienced killers can easily spot someone who intentionally wants to be chased and will avoid them until mid to late game when you've accumulated pressure and then you usually catch them in a area of the map that isn't as favourable for them and you kill them anyway. Occasionally they get away, but it's generally at the expense of the rest of their team because they spend so much time trying to get your attention. I mean are they really that good if they contribute to the whole team losing? I don't think so. Half the time they just predrop pallets and run to strong tiles so I don't even consider that to be very special.

Oh and 1 person escaping is a win in my books.

  • @scorpia said:

It is a circle. If the killer doesn’t bring meta perks, the survivors still will and they’ll steamroll the killer and teabag at the exit. So the killer brings meta perks, which incentivizes survivors to bring meta perks, ad infinitum.

This is the main problem imo. I play most killers and own all at +3 prestige. I favour some over others but I like to mix it up when I get bored and will often play weaker killers using non meta perks. If I win I get no response, if I lose survivors act like they just won a comp DBD tournament and will often start taunting mid game. Survivors bring it upon themselves time and time again and are often the cause of what they complain about the most. I don't even use meta perks these days and haven't done for ages, but when I do try to have a bit of fun and mix it up it just becomes insufferable so I will often switch back to stronger killers to stomp them.

As you suggest the cycle just repeats itself indefinitely. Survivors should be encouraging non meta perks and killers, but instead they like to pretend they've done something special and start trying to play like a bully squad, which in turn makes killers annoyed and they dish out their own form of justice by using the best killers, perks & tactics.

  • 2v8 definitely felt much less toxic and stressful on both sides imo. Having played quite a few survivor & killer matches in 1v4 over the last week or so I started the see an increase in toxic SWF, rage quitting and proximity camping. Basically all the negative aspects of the game.

If they could sort out the queue times and introduce more killers and survivor mechanics I would probably just play 2v8 mode due to it not being plagued by those issues. However I don't think it would take too long until that mode also became riddled with those problems.

Its probably time for another 2-3 month break for me personally. Haven't really been able to get excited about any of the new content recently and 2v8 was a nice change. I wasn't sure in the beginning about the negative effect on the queues, but comparing the 2 modes now it's the more casual and less toxic nature of 2v8 that really appeals to me.

I've also started to develop a real disdain towards SWF teams, especially want to be bully squads after playing a relatively relaxed game mode for the last few weeks. It's not even about the winning or losing. I used to pride myself on outplaying them, but now the incessant mid/end game taunting and snidey comments in end game chat just really annoy me. I guess 2v8 has shown me what this game could actually be and has amplified the negative aspects ten fold upon returning to the same old BS we're all accustomed to dealing with in the core game.

  • After playing this game for a few years you start to get a feel for when things are off. I think more people use subtle hacks than we think, especially when you have base game sales happening all the time on different platforms. I still don't see it as a massive issue, but I've certainly noticed some questionable behaviour with speed and wall hacks from time to time.

    nerfing SWF won't achieve anything.

solo q just needs functional voice chat or a gameplay where there is a functional voice chat and the game should then be balanced / designed around the assumption solo q / swfs are the same.

Solo queue with voice chat won't really do much for the solo queue experience. Most SWF teams are groups of players who play together on a regular basis and coordinate perks and are practiced in some form of teamplay. Over time they become better and more coordinated. This can never happen with random solo players. In fact voice chat for solo q would probably just make it more of a toxic cess pit with players abusing each other over comms which would be significantly harder to monitor.

More in-game options would be better for things like going for the save, stay on gens etc etc. At this stage I still don't understand why these basic functions aren't in game. Not like it's difficult to do.

Regardless if all of this happens it still doesn't do much because the game is balanced around SWF v Killer, when it should in fact be balanced around solo q v killer. That can never happen unless killers are willing to accept the fact that they become playthings for SWF teams.

As I said before it's impossible to cater to all 3 sets of players so they either buff solo q and put some restrictions in place for SWF or they just continue down the SWF v Killer balancing and let the solo queue players rot. The 3rd option of buffing solo queue at the expense of Killer fun v SWF is never going to happen. Killer is probably the most important role in the game with regards to keeping queue times at a reasonable level.

The easiest way imo is to apply some kind of handicap to SWF teams and buff solo queue. This would allow them to some extent to make changes that won't directly effect the opposing groups. If SWF become too weak then just change the handicap with little to no direct effect to solo queue balance. Solo queue becomes too strong strong then just apply some nerfs with tweaks to the SWF handicap to compensate etc etc. It's not perfect, but at least it's a move in the right direction to accommodate Killer, Solo q & SWF balancing.

The problem is that the dev balance the game around stack of surivor, but this is just wrong bc the solo q experience should be their focus to balance the game.

3-4 stack should have penalities like 30 sec more to complete generators and such.

Yes SWF balancing is a problem. If you balance the game around solo q it makes SWF godlike. If you balance the game around SWF it makes solo q horrendous. It's virtually impossible to balance the game properly around 3 different types of player.

Until BHVR acknowledges the problem and put some restrictions in the game for team players on comms then solo q will unfortunately just stay in the same broken state. I can honestly say that I only get around 1-2 out of 10 games that I actually enjoy in solo queue. The rest are just an all round frustrating & miserable experience these days.

It's interesting that the only people I've seen who don't want 2v8 expanded and made permanent are killer mains. Keep in mind you're a minority of the playerbase, and as a company BHVR has a duty to make the most players satisfied.

Keep in mind that if you don't have Killer mains your queue times would be insane as survivor. Killer mains tolerate the insane queue times in 2v8 so you & your pals can have almost instant queues and have fun. They tolerate it because it's a time limited event and they also have fun even though they only get to play 2-3 games per hour. They won't tolerate permanent queue times of 15-25 mins in both modes though and will most likely quit to play another game that doesn't involve sitting about twiddling their thumbs waiting 15+ mins to play a game that lasts 10 mins.

  • Having mained billy for a short time I really didn't like the transition to 2v8. I thought he was pretty easy to loop and his chainsaw was rendered almost useless due to the amount of pallets that can be pre dropped. I've seen people do okay with him when paired with a good player, but for me he was the worst killer out of the group. I much preferred Huntress & Nurse, even though I would consider Bully to be stronger for me personally in normal mode.

So Behavior is against the lgbt community now? Those donations were made because Scott supported the U.S military, not because he was against the lgbt community, something he didn't even know about until after he made the donations. Even if you don't believe that, he's made no negative remarks or other similar donations since then.

It's pathetic really. There's certain people that just want to create a drama around certain topics whenever they can. You can Google that incident and see that no real foul play took place in under 1 min. The only foul play I seen is that he was basically bullied into retirement and had received threats that placed his family under lots of stress whilst his wife was 6 months pregnant.

  • Why does donating money to a certain political person automatically mean you support every view that person has in life?

I mean a simple Google search shows he publicly stated that he supported the LGBTQ community after the incident. It also shows that he donated to multiple other political sources. By the looks of it he basically got cancelled, had to retire, had his privacy invaded, received death threats & put his unborn child in danger due to the stress of it all.

Is that not enough blood for you or would you like to continue to punish someone years later for something that he may or may not have agreed with behind closed doors.

These posts are honestly sad & pathetic. It's a game with characters that have much worse origins than some dude who just happened to donate money to some out of touch dinosaur politician. Look at what Freddy Krueger represents in the original story or why does the Clown bear a striking resemblance to one of the USA's most notorious serial killers?

If you feel that strongly about it just don't buy it. If you don't want to continue to support BHVR then move on or play with what you already own and don't purchase anything else.

  • Scratch marks used to be a reliable way to track people and for some time now they have been broken to the point that you can be mid chase and they just literally vanish into thin air.

So calling a fix to something that's obviously been bugged & broken for ages a buff is hilarious.

  • Queue times have definitely went down to sub 10 mins as Killer so you're definitely going to get games that are closer to your MMR than what you've been getting over the last week. My killer games are definitely more difficult with regards to gen efficiency. They fly by now especially if you get a bad start. I would still say my win rate is around 70%. Survivor games feel a bit easier actually, but my solo queue MMR isn't that high so I'm probably getting matched with Killers that aren't as skilled now. Survivor feels like it's around 40-50% escape rate, including getting the hatch.

  • 2v8 suffers the same problem for killers in 1v4. If you don't have someone dead and a few on death hook by 3-4 gens you'll most likely lose. It's natural to target someone that is injured or you've hooked before. As far as tunneling goes I've not really seen anyone hooking and going for the unhook. In that scenario you basically have 1 killer trying to hold the map so gens will fly.

  • They probably aren't tunneling intentionally. It's kinda difficult to determine where the cage relocates to on the map and it's usually on the opposite side of the map from them so the distance covered to get there would be a massive waste of time if they didn't interact with any other survivors. It's also pretty difficult to keep track of what stage most people are at so it's basically a case of first come first served.

What I personally don't like is slugging at the end to prevent hatch so they can get 8 kills. The game is already won so why sweat to secure the extra hooks.

Not really a fan of using MMR either in this mode. Every killer game I play we need to snowball and land like 90% of our hits or 4 gens are gone before you know it. When I play survivor you're lucky if 2 gens pop and then people just run around healing and opening chests. They literally can't run a killer for more than 10 seconds even with a million pallets on the map.

As far as movement goes it seems like this mode suffers a lot with hit detection and lag. Quite often I see survivor move so fast that it looks like a speed hack. Hatchets seem to land constantly through obstacles and they also look like they go straight through people when playing killer.

  • Dunno I don't count but normally get between 30-36k points per match and win 70-80% of games

  • Solo queue survivor is significantly more fun in 2v8. Wether that's enough to warrant the massive queues for Killers in both modes, I don't think so.

  • Had 1 match that a Nurse & Huntress KWF just slugged everyone and wouldn't hook. Everyone pretty much just afked and didn't play along with their childish game. Apart from that most games on both sides have been fine. I've probably played 2-3 hours each day since 2v8 started.

  • Its not 10-15 mins though it's 20+ at the moment. As others have mentioned going from 3-5 min queues to even 15 mins is a really bad idea and will make people quit the game and you'll have an excess of survivors that now find themselves in 15-20 min queues every game just to get tunneled out in 5 mins.

It should definitely be something that happens again maybe twice a year but it's not going to be a permanent feature imo

  • @ReviloDBD said:

I agree it should be a Permanent Game Mode, but of course still just a side option next to the normal regular game mode.

People keep complaining about the long Killer ques, this is 100% accurate it does take way too long, however, I feel like they don't realize that once Killers start to play less of the game mode the ques will start to balance out and be much faster for them.

There isn't enough killer mains to service 2 game modes and maintain reasonable queue times for both Killers & Survivors. If killers stop playing 2v8 then survivor queue times will go up. I just can't see it working in a way the balances out and keeps queue times a reasonable level. I mean queue times are already pretty bad in 1v4 mode also for killers so if that's anything to go by then it would definitely be an issue going forward.

  • If these queue times for killer were a permanent thing I would 100% quit DBD regardless of how much money & time I've put into it. I want fast back to back games that I can spend 2-3 hours sessions playing not 2 games on average every hour.

  • I mean if you want the game to die then permanent 2v8 would be the way to go 😂

Killer mains aren't going to stick around for long getting on average 2 games every hour. Even normal mode queues are severely effected by this game mode with ridiculous waiting times. There just isn't enough players to make multiple modes work unfortunately.

  • This mode has severely impacted killer queue times in normal mode also. It honestly feels like I'm playing a dead game that you need to wait forever to get into a lobby.

This mode can't go on for the next 11 days it's literally making the game unplayable unless you want to be cannon fodder and suffer your way through solo queue 2v8 survivor games.

I’m really enjoying it. Solo Q player 99% of the time.
The hook changes have massively improved it for for me - no slugging, no camping, no sweating and very little tunnelling. No self sacrificing on first hook.

killers who have committed to the mode are actually quite strong but because the games can go so quickly youre sacrificed and into another match quicker which is more evocative of F13 or Texas Chainsaw, which is something I always felt they did better than DBD, it’s not a big deal.

The classes load outs have gotten rid of the useless perks and forced me into using other play styles. It’s also been designed to work in a much more balanced way for the perks that’s are there.

I can count on one hand the amount of people who have disconnected from matches too compared to it being virtually one every match in normal mode.

Perhaps some of these ideas could be translated back to the main mode to speed it up, but personally, I’m dreading going back to the main mode as it’s going to seem so slow and boring by comparison.

Yeah there's aspects that could definitely be incorporated I to the main game. I've always thought the hook/cage idea would have been a good way to combat camping and tunneling which is why most people DC in the first place.

As far as people not dcing I'm going to guess thats more to do with the 400% BP bonus that anything else. It's also very fast to actually just do the minimum and ######### on hook and still get a good whack of BP. This seems to be what is happening in a lot of my games now. People just aren't playing properly or doing gens. Killers are just snowballing and having a field day because of thiseven though they're getting little BP per game and having to wait 10-15 mins. Normal mode killer queue is also significantly longer which is pretty annoying.

  • Yeah I often look at the player icons and think why are there only 2 people on gens lol. I mean 3 gens should be popping in the first 90 seconds if they don't I know it's probably going to be a loss.

It really does highlight the main issue with solo queue, which is survivors just not knowing when to do gens. Like there's literally gens all over the map it takes you a few seconds to find one there's zero reason that 6 people shouldn't be on a gen a few seconds after the match starts, but here we're are playing games with only 2 out of 8 people sitting on gens for 50% of the games 😂

  • Some people get so angry at the most trivial things. Like how is it predatory to advertise a game briefly on a loading screen that's made by BHVR & actually has a direct link to DBD, but as a single player horror game?

Get a grip of yourself 😂

  • Billy seems kinda meh and I normally play with him a lot. Too many pallets and no one hit potential just messes with his flow. Also I run double turn addons a lot and his map traversal feels kinda bad on cluttered maps.

Huntress is fun and 2v8 is a really nice training ground if you plan on getting better at Huntress like I am at the moment.

Nurse feels pretty strong if you can land 80% of your blinks.

Trapper was actually quite fun because I had a good teammate and we worked pretty well together. Good trap placement really shines mid game and can start a snowball kill chain.

    Haven't tried Wraith yet.

Huntress & Nurse seems like the best combo to play for wins. The games I lost badly were against this combo.

All in all it's pretty fun. Probably won like 3 out 5 games as Killer and 50/50 on survivor.

  • My computer crashed the first survivor game I connected to and I had a list of errors. Restarted the comp and has been fine the rest of the evening

  • There's way too many pallets on the map I just played

  • Yeah 4500 really is a small amount considering it's almost the 1/5 of the cost of a costume. I had every killer on both sides and all survivors on PC with quite a few on console also. I mean it would hardly hurt to give long time players that have bought multiple duplicates enough shards for a few full costumes. Happy that I finally have all my progression and additional cosmetics though from my old Xbox account. I had every killer +3 on my Xbox account so it's saved me a significant amount of time clicking the blood web and farming points to get all perks at T3.

Am I just out of luck?

I first played DBD on Xbox in 2017. I had quite a high prestige, but I ended up losing my old Xbox while moving countries.

I thought with cross progression I would be able to get all that progress back, but it's asking for me to login to the game on Xbox. I don't own an Xbox anymore, so is there just nothing I can do? Neither my Playstation or PC accounts had as high prestige as my Xbox did, but I can't get access to it...

You can access DBD on PC Microsoft game pass cloud with your Xbox account & play with your Xbox characters and stuff you bought (if you still have it). Not sure if it will work that way though, but worth a shot.

  • I would agree that his hitbox feels mega wonky at close to mid range. The amount of times I'm left scratching my head wondering how the hell that missed is a lot. Often I see it actually go through survivors model right in front of me.

Most of my success with Slinger is max range shots when a survivor thinks they're safe or trick shots around terrain they don't expect.

As if that will do much when you can just walk around a bit to prevent that...

Yeah but you actually need to interact with something like a gen, chest or totem when moving around to remove the crows. Just moving around alone will still trigger afk crows until you start doing an action. Dropping an item and picking it up removes the crows within like 5 seconds so people can just crouch walk around edges of map reseting the crow afk status at will using items, which is what most of these people do when holding the game hostage. It's almost impossible to find them if you don't have a perk like Whispers.

  • I think killers should only be allowed to run 2 perks and brown addons otherwise everything is just too strong and unhealthy for the game. Survivors just aren't having enough fun these days because of all these OP perk combos.

  • They just need to remove the afk bird status to not be reset when putting an item on the ground and picking back up again. It's pointless and doesn't add anything to the game and allows survivors to hold the game hostage

  • @CountOfTheFog said:

    Distortion needs a BUFF.

OR, Killer aura perks need tokens as well.

BBQ, Nowhere to Hide, nurse calling, there's more. They need tokens too.

Unlimited knowledge of where everyone is all the time is ridiculous.

Distortion becomes irrelevant at some point during the match, but the Killer can see everyone right up to endgame with an all aura build that includes Bitter Murmur .

I constantly argue with a friend of mine who plays both roles as I do. He rage quits anytime he's found first because he won't run Distortion.

He also refuses to play killer without LP.

How does distortion need a buff? You can literally run 2-3 aura related perks and distortion will counter them for the entire game. The way distortion tokens get eaten is by certain killers that have aura related addons like Myers when he stalks and can just spam auras.

As for giving killer aura perks tokens you must be having a laugh. They already have a condition that must be met to activate them. So you effectively want aura perks to have like a limited use that will literally be useless mid to end game in the same way hex totems generally are. Your suggestions would encourage killers to hard tunnel rather than pursue a new chase with another survivor because they would be running around completely blind as 3 gens pop after 1 hook in every game.

1 2 3 4 … 12
