I can confirm that my killer queues are also quite bad since the update (Region: EU).
Daytime: 5-10 minute queues. If they are shorter it was most likely due to "backfilling" because other killers before me dodged a clearly strong lobby with people with thousands of hours on their profiles so I have two options 1) queue again for another 5 to 10 minutes or 2) play against a team that is probably going to outmatch me by a lot.
Evening time: 3-5 minute queues
My survivor queues are almost instant any time of the day now. Before the update it used to be instant survivor queues during the day and instant killer queues in the evening for me.

I think the ideas are great!
It was very disheartening to read that even when the matchmaking incentives are back, they are not guaranteed to be there at all, depending on region/MMR rating so the other changes would be so welcome.
I especially like the suggestion about the prestige node rewarding BP instead of costing. It's such a small change but it would feel so much better.

As stated multiple times by BHVR the matchmaking incentives had nothing to do with WGLF and BBQ. The bonuses from both were taken away due to the massive buff to the prestige/perk system...and made even less now with the 10k per emblem/40k per match maximum. I can already tell you from the completely lopsided population of survivors v. killers that survivors will not see this incentive very often when it is fixed and implemented. Gaining things in DBD is so much easier now - sorry you don't feel that this last patch literally put millions of BP into your characters because for a large portion of the player base... it did through keeping all their addons/items and gaining so many perks free without having to go through the bloodweb another 30-50 levels.
I understand that the incentives are intended to improve the matchmaking times. But any bonus to BP is exactly that - a bonus. In case you misunderstood, I didn't say "they promised this as a grind reduction" but that "it promised to be a grind reduction". Without the BP bonus of BBQ/WGFL the blood point gain does "feel" lower than it used to, at least for me personally. I play mostly survivor in solo queue and so far I haven't reached even close to the 40k BP cap. Maybe I should just "get good"? But I have to say I'm a fairly casual player and play DbD for fun. I also think they should adjust the BP scoring events you get throughout the match.
At least in my region (EU) and my MMR range the killer queues currently seem very long (5-10 minutes during the day, 3-5 minutes in the evening) so I'm not sure if the incentive will be there for either side or not, I guess we will just have to see for ourselves once the incentives are back. If the incentives won't be there frequently then I will probably just log in, check and then close the game again unless my friends are also playing.
As survivor I mostly just play 2 or 3 different survivors so I don't really feel I massively benefitted from the progression rework but that's not really my issue.

LOL why am I not surprised that people are complaining about something that only one side of the playerbase was receiving erroneously in multiple ways. You aren't OWED anything.. You don't DESERVE anything. It was not working as intended plain and simple. This feature was barely live for 1 day - so please stop acting like it was some long established thing which suddenly got taken away - for no reason. Entitled doesn't even cover a lot of the replies to this issue.
I don't think anyone implied that this was some long-established feature, so I'm not quite sure where you are getting that from.
I agree, if it wasn't working as intended it absolutely should be fixed. It is very unfortunate and disappointing that it didn't work properly in the first place since it is one of the features they promoted leading up to this patch and which promised another bit of grind reduction. Now we will have to possibly wait weeks for this fix and without the BBQ/WGLF BP bonus it feels like the blood point gain was reduced. The incentive would definitely sway me personally to play either killer or survivor depending on the current bonus.
So I think it is only fair for players to voice their disappointment and give feedback on this forum. I don't think anyone can say what someone deserves or doesn't deserve.

They tweeted that the fix is scheduled for 6.1.2
https://mobile.twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1550133547129720832Not sure when that will be in terms of dates. I think it would be only fair to have a Double BP event or something like that in the meantime to compensate for this.

I completely understand your points (Merricles and LiunUK) and it could absolutely be that someone didn't prestige at all but has a lot of hours. So if that applies to you and the killer targets you because of it - happy days! You can run them for your team and win easily.
I still think that the other points I mentioned still stand because it is a repeat of the whole "grades don't equal MMR/Skill" thing that people still did not understand and kept moaning about until they were removed from the end-game screen. Now it's going to be "Why do I get matched with Prestige 60s when I am only Prestige 2" or whatnot, at least that would be my prediction judging from the past experiences.
All in all I just don't think showing the prestige levels in the lobby is a good idea.
-
I completely agree. Showing the prestige levels in the lobby has pretty much only negative consequences for survivors:
- more experienced survivors might dodge lobbies with low-prestige level team mates
- killers might dodge lobbies with high-prestige level survivors
- killers use the prestige levels as an indicator to figure out who is the weakest link before the game even starts
All of this leads to longer queues, matchmaking issues due to the "backfilling" of players and an unfair advantage for killers.
Yes, I am aware that killers could check steam profiles before to try to gain that information but players can decide for themselves if they even want to show their hours or their profile publicly at all, so it used to not be guaranteed.

From the Anniversary stream:
https://youtu.be/hILUtCTf7GU?t=2920
"For those who haven't yet prestiged their characters, we're also working on a fair way to still reward players for their time investment and dedication, once this update takes effect."
So it doesn't actually say anything about other players being able to see the reward.
Maybe at the anniversary stream (May 17th) they hadn't finalized the "reward" yet so they said they are "working on it" and didn't share too many details, which makes sense.
I posted a clip 2 posts up from yours from the Mid-Chapter Gameplay Update twitch stream from June 27th where they did in fact mention "bragging rights" which implies other people would be able to see it.

I've watched it but I don't recall anything about "bragging rights".
I hope that works like that (sorry I'm fairly new to posting on the forum) :)

The reward of the grind were the skins and the add-ons.
They are improving the game so we don't have to grind so much anymore. That's already pretty good in itself.
We are not losing anything and getting a token to mark the change. Why would anyone cry is not enough?
Unless ... bragging rights? That's it? Getting something "exclusive" that cannot be obtained anymore and can be shown to everyone? Maybe also some kind of jealousy over the ones who got an exclusive and publicly visible item (skin) years ago?
Oh gods that's it isn't it? No wonder I did not understand. It's so ...
I'm speechless.
Yes, for some people that is exactly it - Bragging rights, because that is what BHVR promised in the Mid-Chapter Gameplay Update twitch stream not too long ago (maybe you didn't see it?). So I think it is very understandable that a part of the community trusted that promise and expected a reward that would give them "bragging rights" in some way and are now incredibly disappointed with the lazy portrait glitter that other people cannot see.
-
First of all, I don't agree that the reward should be a legacy skin, since it was pretty clear from the start that that was out of the question.
I am just very disappointed with the design of the portraits themselves, which seems very lackluster and out of place. I don't agree that the "turn off" feature is an admission that they know that they don't look good, there are plenty of people who wouldn't be happy having the effect only on some portraits but not all (myself not included but I know a lot of people like it), so I think it's nice they can be turned off - even if they looked amazing. Still, I hope they will see the feedback and at least change the design.
The explanation regarding licensed characters makes sense for outfits but would not apply to post-game screen icons for example, which I have seen as a better suggestion that would actual account for the "bragging rights" without being too crazy.

I have mixed feelings about "The Quarry", overall I did enjoy playing it and I don't regret the purchase (60€). I did one solo playthrough and then one playthrough with 8 players via discord stream, where I controlled the characters and everyone on discord had their own character they made the decisions for and directed me around - that was super fun and a good way to play the game right away without having to wait for the delayed online-multiplayer. The story is alright and it's a fun interactive horror movie.
There are several downsides:
-Even though the graphics are good overall, there are a lot of glitches and the water splash effect is just terrible
-Some performance issues with the 2k launcher, I had to manually disable launching with it active to fix it
-Slow pacing and not evenly split screen time for the characters which is annoying in multiplayer
-Some weird dialogue or action choices/unlikeable characters
-German translation/voice actor quality and casting are just bad, definitely play in English
-100+ endings promise is misleading... there is still replayability value but don't expect too much
So yeah, probably wait for a sale if you are not a super-fan.
-
I think the the statement that BHVR want to avoid "exclusivity" is just an excuse.
There are already many exclusive cosmetics in the game:
-Didn't play when a certain event was active = no chance to get certain cosmetics
-Didn't play when a certain Rift was active = no chance to get certain cosmetics
-Don't want to spend money on Auric cell only outfits/ premium Rift = no chance to get certain cosmetics
-Don't pay for Amazon prime = no chance to get certain cosmetics
Now they included a question regarding limited time licensed cosmetics in the satisfaction survey, which all tells me they are not opposed to exclusivity - as long as it makes them money.
