Nurse is one of my mains, but I learned her back in 2018 where basically only Nurse and Billy were viable (I think Spirit came out in late 2018) and I was never a huge fan of Billy.
Back in the day learning Nurse was a challenge for those who wanted to win consistently and all the time, but now we have other stronger killers (Spirit, Oni, Blight, Executioner, Artist, Plague, etc) that you can get good with and net almost as good results with less effort. The only reason to play Nurse nowadays is if you really like her power, which I do, but the amount of bugs (yes, even after the recoding in this patch) and the double cooldown thing can severely hinder how fun she is.

Map offerings aren't fair as well.

I'm one of those that am always in favor of the DC penalty, but at this point they seriously need to just turn it off. It seems since the last update they came back in full force just to spit on what BHVR said on the last Q&A, and it's always the type that holds the game hostage until you're forced to DC from it. I'm already at half an hour penalty and I never DC for any reason other than a hacker game.
I wonder if BHVR can't just do the same as Tecent Games did with PUBG mobile and go into a lawsuit against those hacker groups: https://dotesports.com/news/tencent-krafton-to-receive-10-million-in-damages-from-pubg-mobile-hacking-group. It's not like they are a hidden group or anything, you can literally search "DBD hacks" on Google and find plenty of groups that sell them. At this point it's just plain and pure harassment what these guys are doing so maybe they could win something.
-
At the end of the day this is a graphical rework project. It's very clear looking at maps like The Game that they don't really care about how balanced the map is to play on.
Maps that got worse after the rework: Coldwind, Crotus, Badham, The Game
Maps that stayed more or less the same: MacMillian, Autohaven, Lery's, Yamaoka
Maps that got better after the rework: Ormond
So according to this I think the best we can hope for is that Haddonfield stays the same.
-
Next killer will be
ZA WARUDO
-
At this point I'm convinced they left balance in charge of a 5 years old.

Thank god, but that's not actually how it works. The game selects a realm randomly (or via an offering), then a map from that realm.
Nah, unless they changed it recently I remember hearing on a dev stream that realms don't affect map selection. That's why you're way more likely to play on Autohaven, Macmillian, Coldwind and Springwood before you see something like Ormond or RCPD.
-
Both are so insanely badly designed that there's no point discussing which is worse. I hate Badham more just because for some reason it has 5 variants, so you get it way more due to RNG.
-
Everything they needed to do was revert it to how it was on Slinger's PTB and just remove the basic attack restriction.

LMAO this video made my day, thanks!!

I had to dodge 3 RPDs offerings last night so I really don't feel like playing killer today. Will probably just stay on SWF.
-
I had a blast with her during the first 10 days after her release because people didn't really know her counterplay. Now everybody knows how telegraphed the long range crows are so good luck getting health states from afar. At close range she has the same problem of PH where zoning and M1ing is easier and gets you way more hits than actually using the power.
-
Why does every survivor video have those oversaturated thumbnails?
The perk itself is dumb design. Completely trash for solo players and only works for squads who want to make the opposite side have as little fun as possible. Thankfully I already dodge every Haddonfield, Badham and RCPD offering anyway so the survivors will have to rely on map RNG to get use out of it.

Who cares, I want the 6k shards.

Time for the Infectious Fright Nurse 😈

This is the ugliest ######### I've ever seen. If a game looked like that I would never play it no matter how fun it is.

Oh come on 😂 I have a challenge. Make a clip that shows you consistently hitting people with pinhead’s power. Just to demonstrate how braindead it is.
I don't need to prove anything to someone I don't even know on the internet, so I don't care about your challenge. Idk if you're on console or anything, but it's piss easy to hit his power with M&K. Especially considering you can injure people through walls with the Fang.

What's wrong with playing "braindead"? Sometime I just want to hunt and kill survivors, not play a game of chess. Just because it never translates well. This is written with tongue in cheek.
It's a multiplayer game, it's expected that you need to put some kind of effort to have good results at it. If you want to play like that you can enjoy single players.
-
Yeah it's braindead. I already hate Legion because his power requires little to zero brain power, and Fang Pinhead is just a worse version of that.

Instascope was kinda wacky tbh. He's still strong, you just have to change your playstyle . Plan ahead a little more, pre-aim around corners, use LoS blockers to your advantage. Mot firing at all is also a decent strat, survivors lose a lot of ground when they start dodging side to side because they think you're about to shoot at them.
His pickrate went down because he's not as easy to play anymore, not because he's suddenly weak.
Yeah I was one of the people who overreacted to the Slinger nerf, but after putting a lot of hours on him again I can still say he's almost just as strong as before. The extra 0,25 seconds to shoot felt weird but you can get used to it after some time.
His strongest playstyle is still "quickscoping" imo. He fires a 40 m/s projectile in 0,9 seconds (it was 0,65 seconds before) which is insane if you compare it to Huntress who takes 3 seconds to do the same. As you said you can also pre-aim around corners to use in your favor the fact he doesn't make a sound when raising his gun unlike the bunny ranged woman. Things like firing through holes in the shack and flicking are also still possible.
I play him all the time and still do fine with him, winning most of my games. I wish the Slinger mains who dropped him tried him out for some time because I'm sure they would come back again. I kind of blame myself for overreacting and taking weeks to play him.
I still believe they did kind of rough on him. They really should consider giving him at least a 28m TR, and he needs an add-on pass really badly.
-
It's the norm for every online multiplayer game. Most of them you can get stuff for free but it takes a ton of time.
For me it's fine the way it is. Outfits require a lot of playtime but they have little to zero impact on gameplay, and the stuff that actually matters (characters and perks) is very cheap. You get around 150 shards every 4 games (1 hour) so a new character (9k shards) takes around 60 hours. Very cheap compared to some other games I know. Battlefront 2 for example takes more than 3k hours to unlock everything if you don't pay.
-
I don't understand nerfing a killer now because of "high MMR". By that logic Pig should have been massively buffed a long time ago but in theory they are satisfied with her to the point they think an addon pass to her is enough, meanwhile Blight gets a buff every other patch.
-
You guys have a pretty low standard of "good".

It shouldn't be but in the current meta it is. In tournaments the best strategy is to camp and tunnel. It is the most skillful play you can make sometimes but it shouldn't be cuz it's lame.
So why do you believe kills are a good measure of skill then? If killers are "doing terrible" by 2 hooking everyone before killing, then should every killer just aim to tunnel survivors out of the game to be skillful?
-
So tunneling and camping are skillful? After all, a killer that tunnels one survivor the entire match and gets only 3 hooks on said survivor is way better than one who got 8 hooks and not a single kill because he wanted to play in a more enjoyable way according to you.
-
It's a very long term solution. Right now if we want to get all perks on Tier 3 in a new killer, you need to get 267 perk tiers. If you remove perk tiers, this goes down to only 87 perks. This also reduces the grind for the next killer at the same time because you now need to grind 90 perks instead of 276.
For the number go up again to 267, BHVR needs to release another 60 killers, which in the current schedule would take 15 years.

Do people still not know how to play against Pinhead?
This probably includes new players. You can't really criticize that someone who barely knows how to hit skill checks doesn't know that you need to keep solving the box, especially because for some reason this game doesn't have tutorials to play against each killer except for some useless loading tips.
-
They are focusing on the wrong part of the perk...
-
Skill issue
-
Nurse on RPD. The only way you can play this out against a good team is if you know the entire map by memory and I doubt anyone who hasn't sunk some dozens of hours into RE2 Remake knows it.
-
The nerf was only 0,05 seconds, it will barely make a difference. I'm pretty sure these last changes are just BHVR telling "hey, Twins players? We ######### hate you. Uninstall"

nerfed DH will most likely favor in increase of kill rate, while some are warning that be aware how sprint burst will be meta, even worse them DH. But okay.
Nerfes DH = even more killer nerfs
so most likely never
Not necessarily. DS had a huge nerf last year and even then the escape rate of survivors who used it basically didn't drop (according to the devs themselves). OoO was also changed to a way weaker version even though people who used it didn't have a higher escape rate. Not everything relies on stats to be changed.
-
I used to play like 15 killers, now I only play 6. I haven't played a M1 killer in months. Also I stopped caring about defending gens and just go for chases. The only slowdown I run is Corrupt and sometimes add No Way Out if I see a stronger team.
-
MMR kind of ruined him. He relies on a weak link to feed him M1 hits to get his power. Add maps like The Game and Cowshed and good luck getting a M1 hit against 4 equally skilled survivors.
He's still solid against the average team, just obsolete when Blight exists, especially when hug tech is basically Demon Dash.
-
Sniping from afar relies more on the survivor messing up than your actual skill. Survivors can see the auras of the crows being put down and launched, so there's no reason for them not to avoid them, so don't feel bad about it. It's kind of like getting sniped by a Huntress after she hooks someone when 90% of Huntress players run BBQ.
At loops good survivors will just give you the M1 because the cooldown is longer than getting hit by a crow, so again, don't be bothered by it. That's more of a bad design thing.
-
Gameplay wise it's better.
MMR made it worse than it has ever been in a long time. I'd say the MMR patch was equivalent to that one that made flashlight and pallet saves not require timing.

Aka press E to outplay

I shouldnt have to dodge lobbies just because the SBMM system isnt great, I already dodge them, still dont think it improves anything.
Again, there's nothing they can do about it. It's the road with less damage.
-
And what do you want them to do? It's either that or putting a 10 hour killer against a SWF with thousands of hours. If you don't want to deal with that, you can always check profiles and lobby dodge.
-
Number changes are enough to make Legion at least not crap. Their biggest problem is how their power is supposedly used to chain hits, but even if you go to a Discordance gen you won't get chained hits if the survivors run into opposite directions. Sure you can end the power early to conserve it, but then you'll be eating basically a DS stun with that cooldown.
My ideas for Legion are:
- 150% speed (up from 130%);
- 15 seconds of power duration (up from 10).
- 3 seconds of cooldown when ending Frenzy. For every Frenzy hit you get -0,25s cooldown, being able to go down to 2 seconds at max.
With this you can easily chain more hits with Frenzy, use it for mobility with the increased speed and the shorter cooldown would allow them to down survivors easier.
-
I think Pinhead would be a lot better if his chains worked like Deathslinger's harpoon. Instead of instantly breaking when passing through something, they would only break slightly faster. In compensation you would have to nerf a bit of his Chain Hunt (maybe make the timer for the box to respawn longer after someone solves it), but he would still be very solid.
Worth mentioning though that Pinhead is not at all a weak killer. The problem is that he requires a very focused playstyle around the box, and he's only weak if you're actually going for chases instead of pressuring the box. It's the same with Twins being strong only when playing around slugging, which makes them unfun as hell to go against.

That's the point. Why would a player use a fourth crow and eat the penalty? The time it takes to repel is less than half the cooldown time from three to four crows.
Info. Check 4 gens instead of 3.
-
The CD is only longer if you actually use the 4th crow, which you are only going to use for info. It's not her best addon, but I don't think it's bad either.
-
By that logic Trapper is going to get nerfed as well, considering he's kind of tough to face on solo without being able to call out trap locations.
-
These events imo are a nice period to go on a break. Played two rounds of killer today and had enough.
-
I think Artist and Blight are getting the nerf hammer eventually. Trickster is already bad so I can see him actually getting minor buffs.
Some other options are Huntress, Oni and Demogorgon.

I mainly play for BP now. I spent way too much time and money on this game to just let go.
But yes, I am playing way less than ever before and not having much fun even while winning.

From what I understand MMR depends a lot on how many people are playing at that specific time of the day. Let's say you have 200 high MMR survivors and only 40 high MMR killers playing at a certain time, 160 survivors are going to get paired with all 40 high MMR killers. Meanwhile the 40 survivors left will probably get paired with average/low MMR killers after a certain time waiting for a lobby.
So even if you derank your MMR on purpose there's always a chance you would get paired with these teams. That's why even today you still see players with less than 100 hours who get paired with those over 4000.
-
Isn't that just the normal behaviour of the game? It seems to always lose players starting from October and then regaining then in April until a peak around June. If you look at December 2020 and compare it to 2021 you'll see they still basically gained 10k daily players.
We had the Artist chapter in November which was cool but not good enough to maintain players, and now we're not seeing new content until March, so it's understandable people don't want to play now, because there's not really much to do. I'd say Ringu and the anniversary chapter will probably bring more players.

So in a sense it's a bit like Nurse's first blink, where you blink to the last known location of the survivor to land your second blink?
Yup, it's pretty much like Nurse, but instead of using a 2nd blink to hit people, you use her 110% default speed + the speed boost out of phase to catch them.
Edit: you can use a speed and an activation as addons to help you learn this playstyle.
