When I got back to DbD and still had my legacy bloodweb on my Wraith and knew things will get easier.

Killers get frustrated more easily because they have no one to blame but themselves. Survivors playing optimally and being marginally hard to find exacerbates the issues killers face and makes a lot of games feel helpless. It sucks to feel like you're in the feeling of an unwinnable uphill battle, especially then the survivor's explicit purpose is to waste as much of your time as possible.
A killer can lose the game within the first 2 minutes, and be simply riding out the game's corpse for BP if the survivors are good. They just need to learn enough self-control to not be verbally abusive in chat.
I feel the exact opposite. When I play killer and I make mistakes its 100% on me. But when I die on first hook, or all pallets are gone after someone else got chased for 1 minute I get really frustrated as that isnt in my control.
There sure are games for killers that are unwinnable before match has even starts as the true potential of survivors is much greater than killer. Yet how often you end a match as a killer and say "damm there was nothing I could have done different"?
-
I wouldnt. Killers dont get much use of Spirit Fury once survivors know you have it.
-
I was once in same place as you are now. As time passed I started caring more about playing to improve, meaning I take chases vs good survivors rather than get easy kills and rank ups.
I also main Spirit (and Billy), I would say that Spirit is very basic when it comes to identifying your own mistakes as you read the survivor wrong during phase walk. Sadly my Hag knowledge is very basic and what I usually do is just get 1 big section from map and defend the gens inside that area.
My Spirit build: BBQ, Sloppy, Nurses and Ruin
My Hag build: BBQ, PGTW, M&A and Corrupted Intervention.
-
Once you learn to curve with his chainsaw he becomes even more fun. I only have like 200 hours with Billy so I can only do baby curving, but I'm getting there.
Curving and other advanced techniques:
-
Similar thing was tested and survivors abused it.
-
There sure is time and place to hide or fake your aura from BBQ. But if you are in safe position you should always encourage killer to come to you so your team mates can make a save.
Worst I have witnessed is that killer sees no auras after first hooking and camps first to death as they had no reason to leave the hooked area.
-
Playing him feels good, sadly I havnt been able to face many Freddies as people seem to have gone back to their mains.
I would go as far as say that he is best M1 killer. Only thing that needs switching is that Freddy should lose bloodlust when he uses snare as with curent state he can cheese all mid sized loops by just using couple snares and catch people with bloodlust 1.
-
Considering how slow devs are to fix bugs and exploits cheaters would have field day if game went free.
-
Everyone has their set of rules what is considered fair and sometimes those set of rules dont meet.
For example I consider insta meds and prayer beads toxic, but to some people they are fair as they both exist in game.

HAR! HAR! HAR! SURVIVORS DIDN' DO NUFFIN', GG EZ KILLER LULZ.
Sure the killer shouldn't have acted that way, I would have accepted my loss with a bit more dignity. However looking at your perks, seeing that the killer was running the full gambit of perks and addons and knowing how SWF typically acts/works, I do not for one second believe you guys were innocent, and played like perfect little angels. I can see why he turned into a pillar of salt.
And then you post it like its some sort of exhibition trophy.
This is why you get Killers who throw courtesy and fair play out the window. This is how you create a toxic killer who will stop a nothing to make future survivors suffer. Bravo, you unleashed another one into the world. Stand proud.
Personally I give no care either way, I am well past this point. I'm past emotion when it comes to a match now, survivors may as well be bots these to days. I only concern myself with the score. The bloodpoints are all that matters to me now.
Pretty amusing over all.
Damm you sound just like the killer I had. Its always survivors fault no matter what.
Me playing with my buddy, not using insta meds or anything that hinders killer enjoyment is considered toxic.

I've seen Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike be used more often to hook rush than I've seen them used against campers. Regardless, I was just listing possible sources of frustration.
I agree that BT and DS combo gets often used to hook rush by cheat with friend groups to make it impossible for killer to even get 1k. If that would have happened in this round Im sure killer would have lashed out about it.
About no heal meta. Adrenaline is much better than SC if survivors are good.

The killer didn't tunnel and he got teabagged (there is no reason to believe the killer made that up, I'm also sure otherwise your friends would have denied teabagging in the chat). And you justify that because of the after-game chat? Are your friends time travellers who knew this killer would react badly in the chat and therefore they started teabagging early?
You are totally ignoring my point: You had a killer who played nicely against your team and yet your friends saw the "need" to bm this guy. Do you think your team's behaviour will not influence the killer's playstyle for his future matches?
What "friends? I was duo with one person in that lobby.
About will that round affect him in his future rounds: Considering how bad he played the chases I saw, no I dont think that round has any effect on him, especially improving himself, he will keep blaming everyone but himself everytime things go south.

@NoShinyPony said:
@Laakeri You wrote that not a single DS got used. So the killer played nice and didn't tunnel. And as a "thank you for not tunneling" the killer got teabagged.
Seriously, if you come across a nice killer, treat him/her better. What does the killer learn from this match? "I get bm'ed for not tunneling." To which conclusion do you guys think this killer will come?
Why do some players have to disrespect other players for no reason? Does it give them a good feeling?
Every survivor these days have DS for a reason, considering how toxic he was in post game chat it seems to me that he is one of those ex tunnelers, but he has been hit with DS too many times so he has learned his lesson.
I never saw any tbags on that game so I cant comment on that.
@Visionmaker 13k point survivor is my friend, he got chased most of the game.
-
I used M&A + Whispers combo on Pig, but then Spirit Fury came and I had to say byebye to M&A.
I would use M&A more if I had like 6 perk slots, but there are much more useful perks for most killers.

@Pulsar said:
Honestly, this just shows that killers need buffs. If 4 survivors power far surpasses the killer's, then it might be time to change some things.
While I agree that most M1 killers need a buff and 4 man cheat with friends needs to be adressed with the rest of the game. This GF made multiple mistakes when I was chased so I'm sure he made similar mistakes when chasing other people as well so its not all about "survivors op plz nerf".
Edit: typo Ghost Face not Legion

@lindenis said:
Now suvs can't use those perks because some killers can have a mental break?
yeah as @Orion listed, even lithe and self-care are toxic these days.
Should have gone perkless with bright clothes to avoid being the "toxic 4 man cheat with friends with OoO, insta meds, gen rush toolboxes" /s, which is actually considered toxic.
-
@Orion said:
Adrenaline, Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Lithe, Self-Care...
And you wonder why the killer is slightly pissed? I'm not saying his attitude is OK, but it didn't come out of nowhere.
Not a single DS was used that game. I was chased when last gen popped so no Adrenaline neither. All I got was bodyblock from 1 random survivor at the exit gate that saved my life.

How did you do it? I don't really care about ranks but I get stressed when I get stomped and gens are popping left and right and it doesn't happen that often to be stomped, but it's like I have the anticipation that it could happen.
I don't know how not to care anymore... any ideas?
thanks btw
I started caring more about playing to improve, meaning I take chases vs good survivors rather than get easy kills and rank ups.
About gen speed. Game is balanced around casuals, if survivors want to "get the gens and get out" there is nothing you can do about it beside being god Nurse.
All in all there are always mistakes you make, identify them and fix them and become better player.
-
Once I stopped caring about rank / kills it got much easier.
-
I like your ideas, but lets face it devs will never do anything drastic to balance cheat with friends with rest of the game.
Only reasonable thing I can imagine them ever implementing is simple indicator for killers that they are facing cheat with friends so they can prepare accordingly.
-
Before I used to get angry, but these days I get frustrated.
Survivor:
1st hook death hook!
killer tunnels r20 team mates
Urban Evasion team mates
Prayer Beads, Insta saw, 1 shot hatchet or omega / multi -blink Nurse
moris as that generally means someone (or everyone) will get tunneled off the hook.
Killer:
Survivors that keep running "Matt Walker" windows
4 man cheat with friends that use OoO, gen rush toolboxes and insta heals
Med kits during evening hours or weekends as they are almost always insta heals. My first game this weekend had 3 medkits so I prepared for that and surprise who would have quessed?

Rank's not a huge deal.
But if you do enjoy ranking up, you should know some killers are very bad at getting emblems. These include: Trapper, Plague, Leatherface and Hillbilly.
It's actually hard to rank up as Hillbilly due how chaser emblem works with chainsaw. It's actually one of the many reasons I like Billy cuz most games are safety or - pip.
-
I hate both Nurse and 4 man Cheat With Friends so I'm kinda surprised they are not nerfing both at the same time.
-
@AhoyWolf said:
Do you remember their ranks? Maybe they were rank 20.
Good survivor was 8 and boosted survivor was 10. Both had over 1k hours.
-
Enduring and Spirit fury. I never leave home without that combo with my m1 killers.
-
If survivors want to "get the gens and get out" there is very little you can do about it.
Hence why I only tend to play Billy and Spirit to have decent chance. Nurse is ofc the best killer as she ignores all mechanics survivors have, but I find her boring.
My Billy build: BBQ, Whispers, Enduring+Spirit Fury
My Spirit build: BBQ, Ruin, Sloppy and Nurses
-
From killer main to survivor main into playing both sides kinda equally these days.
-
Forums will go wild if all mediocore Nurses switch to Spirit as its much easier to be good Spirit than Nurse.
-
Spirit and Billy.
-
Every time when matchmaking decides that some poor r20 has to join my lobby and in game I find them from corner of the map with BBQ.
-
BBQ was asked by survivors to stop camping. It can still create awkward situation if all survivors decide to hide their auras so killer has no incentive to leave hooked area or auras are shown at the other side of the map in rotten fields or red forest.
-
They have started to experiment with new tiles that can be found in red forest for example. They are much more fun for both killers and survivors compared to dull loops that can be found in macmillans and autohaven where neither parties have no outplay potential.
-
For me the biggest nerf to already weak killers was that enduring doesnt affect wraith while he is cloaked.
-
If you chase survivors mindlessly you wont see the difference as they get to next pallet, but if you zone them by kicking the pallet from right side you will notice the power of BS.

Third party programs are only at risk if they are not authorized by us. We have stated in the past that voice chat is okay to use. As a result, voice chat is not cheating.
But assuming it was, how would we enforce this? How can you prove that people aren't communicating with their phones, or by playing in the same room as one another? You would end up in a mess of finger pointing and there is absolutely no way to prove it. We would be banning people purely on speculation, and that is not something we want to do.
Add voice coms in game. Balance game around voice coms.
I personally only play solo or duo survivor and duo already feels like cheating with all the information we can share.
-
Wait until you meet Freddy that has noticed that they dont lose Bloodlust while placing traps.
All mid sized loops become death traps vs Freddies that spam blood into loop and then just catches you with bl1.
It feels like playing vs old Legion that backpaddled or looked into ground "damm quess I got outplayed"
-
I have been only playing Spirit and Billy for past 2 months beside dailies so its really fresh to play m1 killer that has something going on for him. Im also really glad that he doesnt need addons.
-
I think people dont have any problems with Freddy himself. Its that Freddy doesnt drop bloodlust when using snare so all loops that required bl2 to catch people only require bl1 on him.
-
People didnt get banned from Wake up nor they get banned from SB exploit.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Possibly. It seems like Freddy's biggest strength will be the synergy between his dream projection and Pop Goes The Weasel, which wouldn't be add on dependent.
I'm running the M1 metaslave build: BBQ, Enduring, Spirit Fury and Ruin. I might try to drop both Spirit Fury and Ruin for Brutal Strenght and Pop synergy so it doesnt feel as stupid to give up chase to kick a gen.
-
Are people this afraid that devs could finally start balancing the game after introducing voice coms for everyone?
-
Totem counter is actually buff to good killer players as survivors spend time cleansing dulls instead of doing gens.
-
Nobody got banned from Waku Up exploit so devs have given green light to exploit SB as much as people want.

Baby lobby. So cute
Those games get boring pretty fast. Nobody has any idea what they are doing.
@Ember_Hunter My killer games been pretty good mostly, sure every game has insta med, but its weekend so I'm prepared.
-
"Just hide and break the chase 4Head"
-
Billy and Spirit.
-
Only thing that needs addressing about Billy is insta saw.
You can watch people like Ryanpez69 play Billy and when he faces good survivors he still struggles as most survivors know how to force m1 instead of getting chainsawed.
-
Im cranky to match making if anything. Im r9 and keep getting paired to r15 killer with r20 team mates. If I get chased game is boring as killers have no idea whats going on so I have to play bit stupid to keep their interest, if my team mates get chased game is boring as well as only way for me to escape is hatch.
I havnt played survivor in 3 days now due the horrible match making and I have sticked to killer instead.
-
Only buyable cosmetic I can support is Charity Case ones. If people want to buy 15€ skins so be it. But I cant support such prices.
