  • Sure, and survivors should be able to see and dodge the killer too in the lobbies.

    1. Wesker is overtuned, people that say he's the most well balanced killer make me roll my eyes. His entire infection mechanic needs to be removed and he'd be in an okay spot. Right now a Wesker can rush back to an unhook and be given a much too easy means of tunneling.
    2. God pallets/Strong Tiles should exist, but should be sparsely located around the map. A really good tile should require you to break a pallet, and only have structures between it and the next good tile that can be mindgames.
    3. A form of corrupt intervention should be basekit, but only if a killer is not usiong slowdowns.
    4. Map offerings need to be removed entirely. Or at least made into a new rarity that has a maximum of one node per bloodweb. Tired of all my nice green items/addons/offerings replaced by maps no one wants. And maps give waaay too much of a benefit to whoever is bringing them.
    5. If bots are going to exist you may as well remove DC penalties, because all they do is push people to die on hook. I have valid reasons for leaving some games and I'm not eating a penalty just because a specific thing in the game makes me sick or gives me migraines.

  • You get them all except I think the survivor shirts?

Original ruin undying tinkerer? XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD Hell no

We'd get old dead hard and the DS with 60 seconds of uinvulnerability and a 5 second stun. If we have access to new perks then we'd have coutnerforce to help deal with Ruin/Undying so it might work out .

  • This thread is a fun thread for people to post buffs they'd like to see in it in spite of getting an upcoming update with all nerfs for them. If you're so turned off by it, you're welcome to not engage and find a better use of your time than being spiteful for no real reason. Take a walk, pet your dog. There's other things in the world to spend your time on. ❤️

  • They should be off by default until the end game screen. When I play with my higher prestige survivors and happen to be playign with a friend using theirs, we'll see ourselves dodged 9-10 times a lobby, sometimes extending the time beyond 10 minutes when it only took us 20 seconds to get into the lobby.

As killer, it makes me question whether I should change my build up a little, or possibly even knowingly target lower prestige survivors if I need a little pressure, which isn't really fair for them either.

Better for the game the less information each side knows about the other at the start, after all, survivors can't shop around for a lower prestige killer, why should they have the same opportunity.

  • I would hope so, I would love to give my plague some Phazon vomit

  • I know for a fact Dwight doesn't smell bad, he smells like my pillows 😊

  • Define what a meme build is and how it differs from what a meme build wouldn't be, and how the gaame would determine whether a survivor is running a meme build or not.

Thats a BS answer and you know it, again looking at other games. Does someone playing as invoker in dota give you the right to just leave the game because you can't handle all the particle effects? If the game is giving someone such problems that is a fundamental problem with the game itself that:

    A) the developers need to address

    B) still does not give you the right to leave the game.

If you have a disability such that you can't play against those killers, then what you need to be doing is playing the killer role, where you can avoid those characters, or playing with friends in KYF and setting up games where people aren't allowed to play those killers. Or, simply not playing the game. None of this gives you the right to say "######### you" to your teammates and leave the game. And if it does, you need to toughen up and take the DC penalty, so that your teammates get a bot. Those killers mentioned are rare to see, and if you just DC when you see them and give your team a bot, then you'll rarely ever let your penalty get past the 5 minute mark.

This just shows that you're taking this way too seriously.

This is a video ganme for entertainment, this is not a contract, this is not a job. There is no "right" to leave matches. The factthat you're allowed to ######### on hook and there's no penalty to it is realistically the only answer to the question. It is permitted within game mechanics and the devs don't currently see a problem with it. Beyond that, any feelings o fill will you bear towards people who want to value their time by not participating in certain matches is your problem, not theirs.

  • Hello, it's tradition for new community managers to give multiuse codes that give us all 1.000.000 bloodpoints. There's a distinct lack of this 👀 we're waiting.

While I'm very much in support of better accessibility functions for killers like plague/doctor/dredge/clown etc, the same could be said for things like flashlight blinding and motion sickness (until we get that fov slider) as well. In an ideal world, all of them would be fixed, but the killer specific ones are so intentional they'd require full reworks (or my idea which is to have replacement assets as an option for each killer that causes issues, like muting puke sounds/animations from survivors, make puke rainbow colored like a paintball mode, etc)

BHVR have been fairly receptive to accessibility concerns, even if it takes them a long time to implement them, and some they just can't really do much about. For what its worth I completely agree with you that there should be a way to not have them hinder your ability to participate, but "going next" kinda screws the other 4 people out of a game. Killers like dredge are always going to have the darkness mechanic, as its part of the killer's core dynamic, but I cant really think of any way of changing it without severely nerfing it.

The difference is that if I have an issue with blinds or FOV as a killer I can run Lightborn or Shadowborn. Whether I should have to use aperk to avoid things that make me sick is a different issue is another discussion, but I am able to remedy this in some way. Hell when it comes to light sensitivity, you can choose to dodge lobbies with flashlights altogether at no cost or penalty.

As a survivor, if I get motion sickness from Clown gas, or feel ill from Plague vomit, or develop migraines from the Dredge darkness, I don't have any kind of perk I can run to avoid it. I have to suffer the ill effects from being in the match. The only option is to disconnect (penalized) or kill myself (no penalty). There's a distinct bias towards killers having ways to avoid this that survivors do not. Combine that with the fact that there's 4 players in a match that might have those valid reasons to leave compared to just one and you'll have higher count of it happening.

Short of letting players avoid specific killers or removing the DC penalty, the only solution left is killing yourself on hook.

Nah, I love lethal AND I love MFT. Lol

Yeah, MFT doesn't hurt me that much as killer, and likewise, Lethal isn't that impactful to me as a survivor. I like em both.

  • @bjorksnas said:

Building on this the killer perk should have an effect to allow you select from 3/4/5 random addons to use for the first 10 seconds of the trial and you gain a copy of the addons selected, so you don't get forced to use meme addons which would make people not want to run the perk on half the killers because of the 1/10 chance of meme addons.

And it should have a secondary standalone effect outside of the addons for killers who have really weak addons to also want to run it. Sticking with the theme of random just have it randomly rotate through some basic killer perk effects every 45 seconds.

Some effects it could rotate through,

    Brutal strength (20% break speed)

Enduring (50% pallet stun time reduction)

Bamboozle (15% vaulting speed and 18s window block after vaulting it)

20% reduced successful attack cooldown (doesn't stack with stbfl just uses whichever is higher)

    33% extended lunge distance

Just rotating through some effects could make it a interesting disruption perk as well since survivors will get false positives for perks you don't have, to indicate which one the killer has the perk icon chances to reflect what effect is active

The chance to randomly get a meme addon is part of the fun and the risk. Your chance to get incredible addons is paid in the price of getting less than favorable ones. Not every person playing killer is playing to use the best possible items and perks and win every game. That's why it's called Entity's GAMBLE, you don't know what you're gonna get. You might get Silent Traps and Padded Jaws as Trapper or you might get BLoody Coils and Iri Stone. The RNG is what makes the perk fun. Much like Dramaturgy, there is a risk in using it and not only a benefit.

The secondary effect is a little too much for what is meant to be a fun perk to boost your inventory, it could honestly be it's own perk thoguh I'm not sure it's a healthy perk for the game. Survivor's ability to recognize perks and play around them is a developed skill, and if one moment you have Bamboozle and you have them run a tile a different way only to eat an unsafe pallet with the enduring you now have but didn't before, it sort of punishes that for knowledge they couldn't have.

  • @Skillfulstone said:

    That actually sounds pretty good.

Players wanting to play optimally would still need to use the bloodweb for their preffered playstyles and other, more casual, players could still have variety and not need to sink a ton of time just for add-ons.

Although there should be a slightly lower chance to get purple/iri add-ons from the perk.

Makes sense, similar to how Ace In The Hole works. Higher rarities being more uncommon.

  • What you forget is that people absolutely have valid reasons to leave the match as quickly as possible.

Some people have emetophobia and have to leave against Plague because it makes them sick. They should not be penalized because they have a negative physical reaction to one out of 30 some killers.

I have to kill myself against Dredge's immediately because their darkness mechanic gives me migraines to play in. It isn't fair to forcfe me to either be penalized or suffer a servere migraine for the remainder of my day. There's no way to turn the darkness off. Unless there's a way for people to bar themselves against going against a killer power that makes them physically sick, people are going to have valid reasons for leaving games.

  • @burt0r said:

It isn't, but should be if you do it in the first 2 minutes of a trial.

Under no circumstance should I be banned for the simple act of "not wanting to play against a killer whose power gives me tremendous headaches" and you're goofy if you think otrherwise.

  • honestly just let me die on hook, better than having to deal with someone like you as one of my teammates lmao

  • Went from the occasional lobby dodges with it off to just constant dodging today. One P100 survivor and I have to sit through 7-8 killers changing their mind. Really annopying since I can't dodge them if I don't like their stats.

  • Midwich and RPD both came after Hawkins.

  • Now that COH has been gutted, I feel they could make boons see some more use again by increasing the range on them back up.

I note that you were winning. Do you ever get this while not winning?

Yeah, I also had it happen just as Wesker was about to hook me for the third time, and a singularity yesterday I think? It's happened quite a few times and usually it's when I'm winning or losing because it feels like it happens aroudn 10 minutes or so in when the match is already winding down.

Though I have not had it happen when I'm playing killer, which might just be chance.

  • @drsoontm said:

Yep. Same thing, only when I'm winning as killer.

    I don't get a penalty though.

Fortunate, I wouldn't mind as bad if I wasn't getting penalties because I could just queue up and my only loss is bloodpoints or challenge progress, but the timeout box is really annoying right after getting robbed of a good score in the end

  • Hopefully never, hiding it is the right choice because I'm sick of 10-15 minute queues when my survivor bonus is at 100% because people are scared about facing a P100 Dwight with No Mither

  • You should expect the majority of generator progress to take place at the start of a match because that's the only time it can. Losing 2 or even 3 gens before a hook is not a death sentence like many think.

Once you have a survivor on Hook, if you are decent you will realistically limit the number of survivors working on gens to 1.

1 on hook, 1 in chase, one going for hook/healing, and 1 on a gen. If you are capable enough to gets downs are a decent pace, doing so creates immense pressure. Because of this the start of the match is a lot easier for survivors to get gens done because it's the strongest time to do it.

  • Any super safe pallet or god pallet is worth just eating. Anything relatively unsafe I'll mindgame.

If I'm at shack I am Holding W, a relatively short stun is worth turning that building into a much less safe structure.

The amount of times I'vew seen killers lose because they respect the shack pallet and a chase last there for several minutes is nutty

  • @MikeStev said:

And why not choosing "teamwork" style perk for healing? like We'll Make It, Empathy, Autodidact, Boon Circle of Healing why must SelfCare?

Empathy doesn't help heal faster, Autodidact might be useless if you get unlucky skillchecks, and We'll Make It has a window of time to be used. Circle of Healing can be removed by the killer easily.

The benefit of SelfCare+Botany is that you are not wasting gen time compared to basic healing.

If it takes 16 seconds for a teammate to heal you, that is 2 people not working on gens = 32 seconds of people not working on gens.

If you use SC+BK to heal yourself in 32 seconds, you are at the same net time spent not on generators if your teammate that would have otherwise healed you is working on them.

That's not even factoring in that oftentimes teammates simply refuse to heal you, and SC+BK allows you to heal virtually risk free in areas the killer isn't patrolling.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the reason we're getting PTB dev updates a little later than usual is because BHVR want to cut down on the amount of time people have to hysterically scream about changes before they've even had a chance to test them.

I'm not saying they are doing that, but I'd support them doing it, even if it does suck to not get to read the changes in advance of them happening.

I can't imagine how it must feel being one of the peopler esponsible through filtering through PTB feedback on PTB day to actually see valid posts instead of endless screaming. Not a job I'd want

  • Yup, you sure can. You'd need to reactivate both though afterwards, but you can do this right at the start.

I’m rockin’ MK1 n Lies of P on this pleasant, cozy, peaceful, chillaxation from DBD😌

These 2 recently released titles could be averting ppls attention

While I still play DBD, Lies Of P might be my game of the year, it is SUCH an incredible game and I have had a difficult time putting it down!

  • I'm not going to subject myself to watching an Otz video, can someone tell me how Plot Twist and Deadlock are bugged? They have seemed fine all instabnces I've seen lately

  • Wildly floundering at the shack window from the outside because a survivor vaulted into it, thinking they're invincible because I can't hit my spacebar.

  • I play whichever killers I have dailies for or tome challenges for first, and then cycle through most of them. There's a few I just don't play at all, but I do play the greater majority. It's what makes picking a killer to P100 so much harder than survivor.

  • I don't personally like having to grab tapes unless I absolutely need to since it completely prevents you from using your items. She gets a sort of inverted version of Franklin's when you play againstgher properly which feels very silly to me.

  • ""It doesn't have any flashy cool moments where its value is apparent like with dead soft or adrenaline which makes it fun at least for the person using it.""

You've clearly never had fun plays with the endurance because that stuff can be like crack. Work with a friend, 99 their heal so when ghostface comes back you tap them and neither one of you are down in a single hit. Feels good.

  • I do just fine on Wesker with the 32m radius, I don't think it's as big of a handicap as people like to suggest.

If you want it smaller, M&A exists. That's why all perks exist, run a perk that helps you or allows you to work around a problem you have.

  • Convinced 2 friends to play with me tonight after they had taken a break for a few months. 2 Blights and a Nurse, all of them slugging and bleeding out. They won't be continuing, really unfortunate.

  • So play killer and run off meta perks. I play killer and don't stack slowdowns and my games go just fine. Be the change you want to see in the world.

  • Hot takes? Alright

Killer is not as difficult as people like to claim. I play damn near every killer, and use no slowdowns, refuse to tunnel or camp and I have to intentionally handicap myself to even come close to having survivors escape by the gate. Tracking and chase perks should be your bread and butter.

Exhaustion pekrs on survivor are overrated. I have not used them in years and do not need to to play well. Much like slowdowns on killer, people should stop relying on these types of crutches and get good without them.

In that vein, both exhaustion perks and gen regression perks should be removed entirely.

Map offerings should not exist, for anyone, ever. If you want to run a stealthy killer, pray for good RNG. If you want to have a lot of high vaults for BL, Boil Over, or challenges, pray to the RNG gods.

I like exclusive cosmetics. I like to have things other people can't have and want.

I dislike Wesker for a variety of reasons (the pickrate being the biggest) but people who say he has good chase music are just flat out wrong. It's grating and annoying, Clown's got the best music.

The only thing in this game that is BM is wasting people's time. This means bleeding people out without cause and hiding instead of doing gens. Teabagging in the exit gates is silly but you can push them out. hard camping from the start is stupid, and not fun, but not BM.

  • If they're standing in your face waving flashlights, then hit and down them and put them on a hook If they're doing this in an exit gate, then walk forward 20 feet and push them out. Unless they are specifically hiding so well you cannot find them and the gates are open, a killer is never out of optionsin a match.

  • Coutner gen rushing by kill rushing. Get downs faster than they get gens done and snowball your pressure.

  • I run it on every killer as well.

Shadowborn, Lethal, BBQ, and then Brutal/Agi/Superior Anatomy is my build on every single killer . Fine by me though, I still 4k damn near every match. The 15 degrees of speed from Shadowborn is simply 2 good

  • The goblin in me loves having things other people want but can't have, so I'm afraid I have to say I wouldn't want this 😩

  • @Nazzzak said:

If the powers are the same as this event, then imo nah. I think the survivors got jibbed compared to the killers

What do you mean? Bamboozle for half a second and a pallet that is borderline useless even when you do get the stun? How are those weak compared to the useless ability to break a pallet from a distance without losing anything in your chase or getting free exposed after 15 or so seconds??

  • To be honest, any game that I desperately don't want to play, I just kill myself on hook. A bot still won't replace me for it, and if I don't want a penalty for not wanting a 40 minute Skull Merchant match I just have to go out the next quickest way.

While removing a penalty would probably see MORE people DC, I unfortunately don't think that adding bots is going to change the most efficient way out of the game currently.

    @CaulDrohn said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/382675/bots-so-no-more-dc-penalty

We can remove CD penalties when there's some kind of mandatory trial rejoin. So even if you DC, you can only continue with your previous game, but not queue for a new one until the former game is over. And even if there's no penalty anymore, you still lose all BP and Pips if you do not reconnect in time.

With this, a player having an accidental DC (e.g. a crash) can still try to continue with their match, and rage quitters still have their "waiting punishment". With early rage quitters having to wait longer than rage quitters at the end of a match.

The only problem I have with this is that the tides in DBD turn too quick for it to be effective. If you're out for 90 seconds, that's so much time that as a killer you lose a gen or more, and as a survivor you pretty much lose the match. The balance between players is pretty slim as it is and removing one even for a brief period while they reconnect would probably still not impact the match in any significant way.

  • Thankfully my group and I have come to the same understanding where we just don't try on Wesker. It's going to be such a boring match the 18th time in a row,.

1 2 3 4 … 11
