First the entity constructs the world we play in from the memory of those that were there.

So the alter is being represented as it was when rin or her dad have seen it.

Since it moved we can safely say Rin’s dad has taken it and he has been taken by the entity so the entity updated the memory.

Also I’m pretty sure it would be nearly impossible for the alchemist or rando to grab it in the entity’s world because the end game collapse proves that the entity deconstructs every memory once the trial ends to save space.

But the sword that was missing was already missing in the real world, it was the katana that the father used to kill his family and that Rin uses in game. If it was another sword that the father took before being taken, we would have other sword missing, no the one that should have been gone since the beginning. Also, perhaps the sword is something like a gift for the Alchemist? We have to remember that the guy lost all of his memories from before the entity, so he can gain stuff from the real world.

And there is no reason to be the father, because in the lore stream, it was mentioned that he stopped being kill crazy after Rin took him, and that he was going to be miserable and depressed forever. He doesn’t have the kill potential anymore and personally, I don’t know why there are some people that are so hype about having him. He is just some normal guy wielding a katana, a salary man with a story and reasons that we already know all about, so he is going to be very disappointing if that is the “new” killer that they are going to go.

  • We know what happens to the father after he killed his wife and Rin, according to the Lore Stream that they did a while back, Rin’s father was corrupted by the entity and when the Entity took Rin, he snapped back to normal:

Did Rin get her revenge on her father? Did she kill him after her death?"

Farah - "Nope. That's the whole core of the vengeful spirit characterization."

Mathieu - "She got taken away before she could get her revenge. Maybe one day she gets rewarded with an opportunity. But probably not."

Farah - "The father was not able to make the right choices at the time. The revenge is also impossible."

Dave - "I like that the father is just like The Nurse. He was ripe for the taking. As the tragedy is in the making, The Entity changes its mind. I like to imagine that the father is snapping out of it and realizing what happened and is miserable forever."

I really don’t want the killer to be the father, because what lore is there to have? What can he give, both in design, gameplay and character that his daughter doesn’t give already? Several of her add-ons are objects that were property of her father, so you would have the same looking add-ons or very similar ones. He is just some normal guy that snapped, so he doesn’t have a lot going on for him.

  • Given the writing on the wall about “resurrection”, if this is a character connected to the Shattered Bloodline, it would probably be the mother. The father would be kind of weird as he is the subject of revenge of Rin and it would not be in the interests of the Entity to have him on the realm, because if he meets his daughter (which can happen, as killer have meet each other like Nurse and Wraith), the source of her anger may be lost.

Besides, according to the lore, the father was corrupted by the Entity and when it took Rin, he regained his senses, so he wouldn’t have much of a motivation to be a Killer.

Although I would prefer to be something unrelated. If we are going to have an original Killer, I would prefer a more unique and different lore than an expansion to an already existent Killer that could be done with the Archives. Perhaps is a killer with a similar undead theme to the Spirit, which I would also like, more of a Ring type powers, perhaps…

Reworking of the maps and the Spirit...I don’t think so, as mentioned, they have never done this type of stuff in the past, and why they would try to hype the reworking of an already polemic character?

  • I have always seen the Wendigo aspect of the Hag only in her looks and way of feeding, but on the rest, she is much more of a Hag, a witch of some sort: Her lore links her with magic as is her knowledge of what the elders taught her what allows her to summon the entity to take revenge, to make a deal with a “Satan” of sort, like a lot of traditional witches did in legends; her add-ons show how she uses and wears elements of nature, life essence and symbols to augment her power and cause curses and mark people, like her perks describe:

A child's shoe, long lost in the bog's waters. The trapped life essence within unlocks tremendous potential in The Hag's power.

A rigid ornament worn around the neck made from dead plants adorned with withered orchid petals and leaves.

A handful of yellowish wings, dry and crisp. Devoured to increase stamina.

A handful of mud with veins of deep crimson. The bloody layers empower the mud.

A pale orange turtle egg, cracked and emptied of its content.

"She touched your skin, you bear the witch's mark!"

And yes, she eats people, but that is not an exclusive Wendigo thing, that is also a witch thing, even is mostly cooking people in cauldrons, they do it as well, like the Witch from Hansel and Gretel or the Crones from Witcher 3. The main difference is that she clearly prefers it raw.

She doesn’t really has a lot of wendigo to be honest, she didn’t become what she is because she ate human flesh, but because she made a deal, her transformation is also not the product of a curse nor eating changes her in any way. She is related to nature, but that connection is more on the form of hexes and curses, not in the more savage way of a wendigo.

Finally, her humanity may be forever lost, but she is not an animal, she is intelligent, uses dark magic, symbols and stuff that wendigos don’t do.

Again two detection perks that require you to face them vs an aura reading perk that sees you anywhere you go because your TR is 0 is a good trade...

Its entirely your opinion if it'll make him less fun, but to me this will do hardly anything. And like I also said, unless they're actively trying to fight against stealth Killers than this change won't do much of anything.

Even now I hardly see OoO users before this patch even rolls out, but when I do it destroys Myers if I try to chase that OoO user, but i'm kind of forced too or they'll just do all 5 generators themselves.

Now, it's only if I look at them. An easy counter? Just don't directly look at the generators or hooked Survivors if you know someone has Spine Chill or Premonition.

"Not looking at them" is a bad counter against when your ability is based around looking at people and from what I found, Spine and Premonition have a greater range of detection (36 meters) than the distance in which you can stalk people (up to 32 meters, I believe), so they always know that you are there if you want to stalk, which you are going to want to do eventually, which mean that they will know that you are there and run away, which would still make gaining Evil Within in EW1 harder and take more time, which would make, in those matches where you are fighting against those perks, Myers a worse killer, something that was never an issue with pre-undetectable EW1.

More importantly, that counter doesn’t work for Mirror Myers, that is where this patch hits the most and my main concern because is the most fun build in the game my opinion, and it doesn’t need to be nerfed at all. As others have said, a change to the add-on would suffice.

Also, from the patch notes, Myers only has Undetectable at EW1, losing it after reaching EW2 and right now, EW1 Myers is immune to OoO, so this patch doesn’t change anything in regards to OoO. You still have to deal with it in EW2 as any other normal killer. The only “buff” is the lack of terror radius, which as explained, is meaningless compared to the full immunity.

I highly doubt this would really change anything... it's a 1 out of 17 chance to get Myers specifically, and at Red Ranks those chances go down even more...

Of course i'll still play Myers after this update, it won't mess with how I play at all tbh... I just find it odd that other people really think this will ruin the Killer as a whole...

Seriously, would you rather be seen outside of 16 meters (basekit) in Tier ll as Myers against a Object of Obsession user? Or would you rather be seen only through two perks that're both just detection perks and one has a time limit on when you can use it again and again and again...

Spine Chill only shows when the Killer is looking at you... so it's not very accurate if you're not on a generator, and Premonition has a time limit and it's only good for that previous statement or when getting someone off a hook...

Seriously, this isn't a big deal..

No, but it is 100% going to make him less fun, is a pointless change that is also making him weaker for no reason and no compensation. EW1 Myers triumph at the start of a game (or in Mirror build) relies a lot in people not noticing you in time and with those two perks now being his bane, even if is not going to be 100% of the games, is still going to be enough that I think there will be a difference, as now survivors can realize that you are there and run away before you can properly stalk them, lacking any proper ability to just chase them down. At least, it is going to take more time to go out of EW1, which means worse games in those cases.

Think of it like this, because this is how I processed it.

Adiris was deceiving everyone around. While promising to cure everyone, she was spreading more of the illness. While everyone saw her beauty, she was starting to fall into decay. Rather than getting help for herself, she kept going out into public, spreading even more disease. Finally, she led several of her most devoted followers to their deaths.

Whether she was willing or not, her actions are evil. She was so desperate to save others, that she became what she wanted to destroy. And the Entity picked up on this.

That's why I believe she was taken. She was a servant to the gods, and the Entity is godlike in power.

Also, wickedness isn't a prerequisite for Killers. Take Leatherface. He just wanted to protect his family. In fact, the people he killed were done so in self defense. If it wasn't for his cannibalism, I think he might have been let go.

I don’t think that her actions are evil at all, misguided, yeah, but there was no malevolence in them and is not like there was anything or anyone that could tell her otherwise. In that time, what she was doing was seen as the best that a religious leader could do in a situation like that, and although there was some pride involved in her new station, it is clear that she geniunsly wanted to help her people at any cost, giving that she was willing to cut her own foot to try to help one of her followers:

As she began reciting the Epic of Creation, a woman at the back swooned and collapsed. Adiris rushed to her and noticed the black blisters covering her feet. Without hesitation, Adiris grabbed her sacred blade and swung it at her own foot, severing a toe. Then she offered the bloody part to the Gods, asking them to protect the woman.

She caused pain and misery by unknowingly spreading more of the plague, but she didn’t knew that she was infected herself, not until the very end, when her and her followers realize that they were infected:

But no ritual could save her. In a desperate attempt to appease the Gods, Adiris banished herself from the city. She travelled north with a few followers, venturing through the cold woodlands of Urashtu, until it was no longer possible to walk.

They camped in a damp cave, where Adiris lay in a pool of vomit. Her foot, which had turned black, was so swollen she could not go any further. Her followers and she realised the truth in that cave: they were all infected with the plague.

Probably in that moment, she also realized how much she truly failed in saving her people, so that probably didn’t help her in those last moments. And then, just before her death, the Entity saves her, and that gives her the reason for aid the Entity in killing people: nothing more than gratitude and devotion. We can see in her animations, add-ons and descriptions of her perks that she is sees the survivors as infidels that deserve to be sacrificed by her god, that saved her from death, a god that probably she think is one of the gods that she prayed in the past, probably the god of pestilence:

A bloodstone amulet carved intricately with the effigy of the Babylonian God of Mayhem and Pestilence. Fills the wearer with boundless devotion.

I don’t think that there is any hatred, bloodlust or malevolence in Adiris even when killing people now. She is just fanatical and 100% devoted to the Entity.

I also don’t believe that the Entity needs the potential killer to be a murderer anymore, as I believe that it has grown stronger and smarter with each new killer, and thus now can use more subtle methods to make them do its bidding, that is not going to just torture you until you break if it can convince you to work for it by manipulating you and leaving you with more fresh emotions to collect.

  • Glad that there are some changes coming for the Legion, but I hope that we don’t have to wait too much for them, specially for one change that I thought would happen quickly after the update: The animation vaults. Te main issue that I have with New Legion is how slow, frustrating and boring they feel, and a factor on that was just how slow their animation vault felt. And I remember how, in a stream I think, they said that it would feel better once they adjust the animations...which hasn’t happened yet.

Of course, in my opinion, there is really no need to adjust the animation, as given that the power of Legion is now non-lethal, I don’t see the harm on giving it back their old running and vault speed or at least giving them rewards for actually using their powers and augmenting their speed after they hit more survivors, like a lot of people had propose in the forums. Never really accepted the reasoning that they gave about making them slower, when they are other Killers that can move faster, for longer and don’t have so many obstacles to use their power. Like, if the wiki is correct, the Wraith cloaked is, technically, faster than Legion, without even using windstorm. That just embarrassing.
