Its definitely gotten harder out here. I've gone from consistent 3-4k games with the odd loss, to having to sweat for a 3k since the update - and they happen a lot less frequently than before. Personally i think the HUD buff was necessary but im of the mind that killers need something now. Map changes in their favour would be a good start imo. New meta shake up would also be great. Im sure the devs are working on something

I don't understand how your first two sentences have any relevance to tunnelling. Elaborate?
I am trying to suggest a potential fix for tunnelling without having it removed from the game completely, this is the most logical suggestion and it would be for the overall benefit of the game.
Sorry friend but you don't get to call this "the most logical" anything. To impose some kind of multi game condition on one side based on a playstyle, that may have been necessary or even unintended at the time, and then have that condition completely hog tie the player for any amount of unrelated games is... Not logical. It is however a sure fire way to kill this game as killers would rather play *insert other game title here* guaranteed.

So WoO should nerf an already niche killer that decided to bring a niche add-on like Freddy's pallets?
I just played him on Gideon of all places with DPs and 3 of the survs were running WoO. Fake pallets scored me a whole 2 hooks. The other 8 i got without them, they really aren't powerful enough to need a perk counter imo

I know, it weird.
But For me, a casual - mediocre killer, Wesker/Mastermind feels either garbage or god tier.
Survivors can run me like any basic m1 killer and interact with tiles in same, generic way. I feel like i have no power at all sometimes.
Use him more, i suppose it just takes practice and time to get comfortable with him and his timings. There's also rebounds and mind games that are sort of unique to him. Im not a weskin main by any means and arguably pretty trash with him, but ive seen what some people can do with him and it is amazing. All in all i think hes a very well balanced killer and very fun to play.

Have you found a build you like?
Dredge is an interesting one because you can change things up quite a bit, but seeing as though you lack a few teachables, I'd go with jolt, dissolution, sloppy and maybe fearmonger or septic for a chase based build, could swap out sloppy for discordance for a little more info for sure.
He's can be very strong on chase given the right locker spawns and practice with his husk/antiloop. I hope you've enjoyed him.

I tunnel for 3 reasons:
1) The surv is unfortunately the only one i see time and time again. I feel bad in this situation but I'm past the point of giving chances after i keep catching people out.
2) The surv "challenges" me. This i consider friendly competition and also an opportunity to practice against a usually decent survivor on usually unfavorable tile/s. I don't always partake but if I'm in the mood, sure, I'll 1v1 them right out of the game.
3) Necessity. I run chase oriented builds. Nearly always, only breaking it up with meme builds but very rarely do i run any slow down/gen perks. This makes getting 3+k in a game quite challenging in several circumstances. If ive been playing well and am getting absolutely slapped, i will tunnel to try and secure at least a 1-2k match if possible; in this situation i will camp/proxy also. I don't think its unfair to try and secure a singular kill so they can miss me with the salt.
Hope that helps
