I actually didn't know flapping was an indicator that the killer was nearby. I usually do it to indicate that I'm being camped but it ends up in a poor attempt at a save π
Good to know I was on to something at least.

If it's a true random dc then odds are you and the killer wont be near the hatch so you'll have equal time to go get to it before other does and survivor can still go out gates too dont forget. Like i said real disconnects dont happen very often while the intentional ones do.
I'm saying that in a solo match, I shouldn't be punished for some idiot disconnecting. I can't communicate with those other survivors. What they do is on them. So... In addition to getting screwed by some jerk that can't handle a loss by having more work to do, I also now have a bigger chance of being killed on the way to my ONLY chance of ecsape? Basically, if I'm smart enough to locate the hatch while I do other objectives, I can still be screwed over by some other idiot when I had no way to prevent the DC or even know it was going to happen? For SWF I really don't have a problem with your suggestion but in solos, we already have enough working against us.

Sometimes it has nothing to do with the killer. I've played matches in solo where someone that DCs will message me butthurt that I didn't rescue them from the hook. Being on the other side of the map isn't an excuse. Most of the time it's the DbD equivilent of "I'm taking my ball and going home if you don't play my way!"

I would love to see a killer who can appear to exactly mimic a survivor. That would be some game changing power!
Like a killer that uses mirrors somehow? That would pretty awesome.

So you want the hatch to be closed for 30 seconds so that killers have extra time to find it in the case that someone DCs? How would this work for solos?
-
Only thing that ruins the fun for me are ppl that DC and try hards that expect that everyone knows or cares about the meta. I just play to relax and kill some time. If I lose, I lose. If I win, I win. I'm the kind of killer that will take someone to the exit or hatch if I could see that they tried. If a killer grabs me because I did something just plain stupid, I won't wiggle. Im not ever intentionally toxic.

I honestly just want to be able to communicate in solo... Most of my friends are too scared to leave CoD to try this out so I main solo survivor. It also makes the game more immersive for me to try and survive with 3 strangers. My only real issue is not being able to communicate. So many times, I've tried to say "Don't go that way" but couldn't and ended up feeling bad because someone got hooked or I'm coming for a rescue and right as I get there, they get sacrificed because they kept trying to jump off the hook.
I'm just wanna be able to communicate. Otherwise, I genuinely have fun whether I play killer or survivor. Maybe because I don't concern myself with rank or anything.
...Maybe if they made a "casual" or "practice" kind of mode where ranking up doesn't really matter?

Today on things that I get annoyed by but haven't said anything about because I felt like it was just me being an entitled gamer. ππππ
Good to know I'm not so alone.

Honestly out of habit. I watched YouTubers play it a lot before I got it and saw killers doing it in videos. Once I started playing it, I started doing it just as a "Yay! I got one!" thing. Still do it on occasion. It never occurred to me that it could mean one is salty though. I'll have to keep that in mind.

Didn't even think of that.
To help prove your point, Red Dead Online has a "battle pass" now. Now DBD is getting one. It's pretty bizarre how comfortable people are with this but at the same time people constantly complain about loot boxes. As long as it stays optional, I don't see the problem but we all know they'll do their best to make it feel like the battle pass has to be purchased by putting the best cosmetics behind it like every other game, I'm sure. Now, if I can unlock killers or survivors I don't have with it, that would be cool.

Kind of reminds of Warframe when I played it hardcore. For a while, people were tired of them releasing new Warframes instead of adding things to make the game easier to understand for new players and fixing bugs. They listened eventually and the game is much better for it. What's the point of constantly adding new stuff if it means new bugs on top of old bugs? It just makes it more difficult to get them fixed and has a snowball effect.

I would have to agree that it has to do with only playing one side. I typically play both. One week I pick a survivor to level up, the next week, I pick a killer to level up. More often than not since I'm still basically learning, I play pretty chill and I'm more observant than anything. Being that I play survivor solo, I can't communicate with my team and since I play on console, I don't get many tips after a match so I don't know if I'm being toxic as much as just making dumb mistakes (there are plenty) when killers tunnel me or my team leaves me hooked. For both sides, I honestly just play in a way that maximizes fun. Usually when I play killer, all I concern myself with is rituals and once I get my ritual done, I back off a bit. I've even been known to carry a survivor or 2 to the exit or hatch if they put up a good fight and made things fun. I have yet to run into any "toxic" killers other than those that camp on occasion and usually it turns out that they're new anyway. I actually encounter more survivors that will let me die or piss off the killers than I do killers that are being out of pocket. Maybe I'm too chill though. I dunno.

As a solo survivor main, I have no problems with the hatch. It makes it possible for me to still escape when the other 3 survivors make dumb mistakes and get sacrificed. Why should I go down with the team that couldn't perform like one especially if I'm doing pretty much everything from hook saves to repairing gens while they run around like idiots?

These puns are GREAT! ππππ

As a terrible killer and a constantly learning survivor main, I say use any builds you want to as long as you aren't a jerk about it. I learn and improve my basic skills by being bested by killers so I welcome "OP" builds. I do agree that the salt/toxicity could be done with.

I use it quite a bit but I usually play solo so it helps out. Especially on my Meg build. Let's me know where to go after an unhook/heal situation and usually if I put it with Lightweight, I only get seen if I'm playing like a potato. I am getting better at just looking around now though so it's not something I use every match any longer.
