  • You are giving her to much credit.. most kill she gets its from survivors that DC and doom their teammates or from nurses that tunnel and camp, but that a global problem, its the tryhard stantard to play like that.

  • @Cybil said:

It needed to happen. The frame perfect blind was an awkward mechanic and the "buff" they applied is basically a band-aid fix to make it less awkward.

It not and awkward mechanic, it's a game changing mechanic that if done correctly resumes a chase when it should have ended with a hooked survivor. Something like this should always be perfect timing like a parry from Dark souls, making it easier (wich btw is not hard at all) its completely unnecesary.

  • Alright stop there my friend, you say you don't get punished for a miss as the Nurse? lol she is the killer that most people get frustrated while playing and im not only talking about newbies.

Even if you are a pro playing her don't feel nice because you are constantly getting fatigue and you have to wait for the charges. The Nurse of today its completely different from the release Nurse, there is an abyss in the middle.

Now that being said im not saying the old nurse was balanced neither the nurse of today. But i can assure you that the devs don't have any favoritism for her because if it was then we would see plenty of nurses, and its very rare to see one and when i do they are only the noobs that tunnel and camp because they don't know how to play her outside that cheese way.

  • @Laluzi said:

The reason this is happening is because the recent change to flashlights that stops macros/click spamming made it so that adjusting your flashlight during a blind (if you started too early) is now impossible.

Plenty of people were complaining about that, so BHVR made the blind window more forgiving as a result.

The timing is the same as always, if you fail you did it wrong and as is a huge game changing mechanic it should be done perfectly. There shoudn't be any longer window. This is not a good balance change in any way.

  • Lol who is asking for a flashlight buff? Its perfectly fine as it is now.

  • It's a really bad perk, not the worse but really bad, most killers kick gens before committing to chase so you won't get a single use of it most of the times and if you do, it's only useful in interior maps.

  • I got stuttering yesterday too but it was because Windows updates was eating all my HDD function to 100 % even when i play the game on another drive... Windows updates are a pain in the ass, maybe something similar happened to you.

  • In theory sounds broken but in practice.. I don't see almost anyone using hyperfocus, people keep using prove thyself and its still the most efficient perk.

  • The gap between solo and SWF did nothing more than increase lately because the devs refuse to give only soloQ survivors buffs. This won't change until they realize that this issue its like a sickness that evolve with time and will not get better if they don't act.

This gap not only make soloQ survivors matches miserable but also killers matches miserable when facing SWF because it make the game completely unbalanced. I don't see a good future for dbd if they keep ignoring this.. the small changes they are doing lately are only bandaids that don't fix the main problems in the game right know, like gen times and tunneling, and basekit perks benefit SWF.. which is a terrible idea.

So the gap will always be there if they don't properly divide thing.

  • Only 13 tunnelers in 50 games in soloQ? Interesting I would have expected much more. In my region it would probably be around 35% of the matches and maybe more.

She's more feared then any killer in dbd!

What tells you she's not a killer that just we haven't seen yet or that she's secretly part of the entity? πŸ™ƒ

  • The duck and angry faces has been from a while its obviously not top priority but at least its a funny bug, just look at my Jill, she looks like she's doing a marshmallow challenge and just lost πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  • You can call it "realistic" though the ones that reach it don't do anything else other than play the game in their life which is concerning as minimum, but well everyone is free to pick they poison i guess.. I have seen 3 or 4 only.

Thats not true, good ol jumpscare freddy got me to rank 1 often

I hope you are joking, old freddy was trash, i have looped freddy's in the past for 5 gens and that tell a lot about how weak he was.. Btw everybody eventually reached rank 1 in the past, it wasn't that hard, that why that rank system was scrapped.

  • @Rulebreaker said:

To be fair, this reads alot like old freddy but with more stuff and no inherent slowdown

Yep i stop reading there. Old freddy was so bad, nothing remotely close to old freddy can be good even with buffs.

Remember when you could control the moonlight with the moonlight offerings? πŸŒ•οΈπŸŒœοΈπŸŒš

Thats from very long time ago.. i still have some of those offerings with some survivors, i don't have the ultra rare version tho only up to very rare.

  • @Silasy said:

Remember when Billy and Freddy used to be good.

Billy is still good in expert hands hes just not cheap anymore.. and freddy is at least better that original freddy, the real nighmare was to play as himself, it took so much time to sleep people that they could heal and unhook before you could hit them.

  • The new DH its much better and rewarding, and in some situations stronger, you can for example go to the exit gates with the sprint you get from the hit and escape from very far away.

  • its helps but nothing crazy.. its primordial to lvl up the tentacle to 2 first. There are killers that benefit better from STBFL like demogorgon.

There have been multiple topics covering this, but the long and short is that there have been seizure risk elements in this game for far longer than there has been a warning (only a few months,) which means they were far behind the curve in giving the end user information warning of events that could cause photosensitivity issues. This was because they were extremely uncommon, and would slip through the cracks for years if people are not exposed to them. Sadako's vfx actually got adjusted for this very reason, which reopened the discussion since it was finally acknowledged.

Aside from all of that, people who suffer from seizures are not told to avoid playing video games or anything like that, but rather to inform themselves of any risks present in the game. The issue many have had is that information was not present, nor was it consistent: This is important for people with conditions such as that, because they have to "trial run" games with someone willing to look over them if a response occurs. Testing the waters is extremely important for them, but its also usually something that only needs to happen once or twice, since you can generally encounter these types of causes within a standard play session or two. After that, it is usually very clear on what does and doesn't cause concern, and you can make an assessment on how safe or unsafe the game is after that. There are people who are at risk of seizures who play even fighting games with no issues, complete with their over the top flashing lights during KO screens, its just a matter of learning triggers and tolerances like many other conditions.

Its unlikely to go extremely long periods without ever seeing a doctor, a sadako, or a flashing light on a map... But flashlight clicking is a user end cause, not one within the game's natural design. It's always been an outlier that people can cause "on demand" which is why it needed particular consideration. This is a change that has actually been put forward concerning this topic for ages, so its good to see BHVR making good on their claims that they're listening in terms of accessibility. Still plenty to go, but considering the severity of the impact on end users, this change was definitely one of the most urgent ones. Here's hoping that other ideas for the overlays and other risk factors, while more avoidable to a degree, still get similar consideration. They kinda doubled down on the FoV issue by introducing a new mechanic tied to it, but at the absolutely very least they did add an option to prevent it from changing dynamically mid match when it occurs.

Yes very well explained, every person is a world so not everyone reacts the same and its good that the devs decided to change how the flashlight behave to reduce the potencial seizure if possible but obviously there are more things that could cause it, that why i advised it's not wise to play a game with this condition and of course someone with photosensitivity can play games but there is a risk and more if not being medicated.

Sadako is very strong! You people are not using the right add-ons and perks with her.

You just dont know shes actually really cheap!

I've been playing her for months and rarely lose with her! My win % is about 85-90% with her. I do great with Sadako and thus i naturally i have a stronger opinion about her than most people.

Facts.. Btw Evan deserves a better tier, if played right and with a bit of luck the trapper can end games really fast.

The Xenomorph better be able to run on walls, Behaviour.

That would be so hard to code in dbd and.. not very useful in most maps. I would love to have an Alien chapter too, but i don't think we would see features like that if it happens at some point.

But replacing hooks by cocoons on walls and floors for example is something that i can see possible. We already have cages replacing hooks for pyramid head..

"Photosensitive people don't play video games"

    lol, are you for real?

I said don't play or at least they shouldn't, don't cut and quote.. There is a huge seizure warning in most games and even in some that don't do it, people that suffer from this can get seizures. So If someone decide to ignore the warnings its not wise and they aren't caring about themselves.

  • I don't think she desperately needs a buff. Not every killer needs to have a chase power, if you want that you can play huntress. Sadako power relies on map control and stealth. For me she's really fun to play and the synergy with some builds that are boosted by her power are nothing to despise.

  • It looks to me that the true reason behind this is to prevent macros. Photosensitive people don't play video games or at least shoudn't. Im pretty sure there are plenty other "triggers" in dbd that could cause seizures but at least its a start.

  • That combo is overestimated.. not everyone touch their config file to plays with V-sync off and unlocked frames, its much harder to constantly hit the great skill with input lag.

  • The thing that most bother me is the nerf to devour hope, i know its not definitive yet.. but was really necessary to even announce that change? In how many games we get 5 tokens of devour hope?

Very few and it may not sound as a big nerf but the time it takes to pick up and hook someone is a lot compared to just hold M1 and mori. It potentially gives more time to break the totem before using the 5 tokens and lets not forget that the hook can also be sabotaged.

I do play survivor because I like to play with friends and the only way I can do that is to play survivor, but I play relatively more killer.

I'd play survivor more if it wasn't so stale, especially solo queue. Like you said, holding M1 for 90 seconds is hardly riveting gameplay.

Yea tell me about it, i mostly play solo Q when i play survivor and its awful, plus the MM don't feel like its doing any justice while looking at my teammates. But well at least i enjoy it when i get good chases despite dying πŸ˜‚

Its really hard to balance a game when you have two completely different scenarios.. Its noticeable while playing survivor and while playing killer, the gap is huge.

  • Well it was obvious that the mori rework wouldn't come for free.. but we have to wait, the sneak peak they showed its not final and we don't really know how it would be without testing it. Im happy that at least they dare to finally speak the sentence "mori rework" after so long.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

"holding M1 but nothing else when the killer is not chasing you?"

I'm a killer main, Sadako specifically (formerly Nurse).

So you don't play survivor at all or very little.. That explain it. Well Killer is more fun obviously, i also enjoy more playing killer. But i woudn't mind more variety that affect both sides in terms of gameplay. It has been requested many times by the community, like the 2 killers vs 6/8 survivors caos or something else completely different.

I think the devs are slowly trying to revamp the core mechanics but are too afraid to make big changes.. Like the mori rework that was announced long time ago, it looks like now it finally happening im curious about how the new "basekit mori" and basekit UB thing will turn out, i hope it adds more spice to the game and not completely breaks it like most people think.

Disagree. I've been playing since launch and still find the core gameplay fun.

Thats really hard to believe.. I haven't seen anyone say something like that, do you really like playing the same "mode" and holding M1 but nothing else when the killer is not chasing you? Or you are againts any core changes? To me the game needs a revamp, a face wash in terms of core mechanics at least in some alternative mode from long time ago.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

Get rid of SWF and watch the game die.

The game is already "dead" for veteran players like myself. Its about time to bring new gamemodes or change the most boring part of playing survivor, holding M1.. The core mechanic has being the same since 2016. I find myself playing little to nothing this days.. only when a new chapter arrives and i drop again after 1 or 2 weeks. Killer is a little more fun but not enough to keep me playing for longer either.

  • STBFL broken? πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ its a perfectly balanced perk. If you are being serious I can see you never played killer in your life.

There is still plenty of time for them to read the feedback and change it before it goes live.

They have said enough to give bad vibes to everyone. I don't like it either, i hope they come with something completely different and healthier for the game and not a rip off trade to just nerf Devour and Rancor.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The only thing problematic about the update is that they aren't even finished with it because of how many things have to change now because they wanted to address one problem: 4 man slugging.

...if that was even the point? Or is the point the "oooh fancy cinematic mori"? It seems all over the place to me.

The tunneling camping and solo Q problems are definitely bigger than one or two slugging killers in 15 games.. I would have preferred solo Q changes instead of this.

  • @RoastedGarlic said:

maybe if you killers didn't constantly slug this wouldnt need to happen. you reap what you sow.

No one slug in 2022 unless you are playing against specific killers and even so it's rarely seen.. Are you a time traveler from the past?

  • Im also in the boat to NOT change devour hope and rancor at all. It is really hard to get 5 token of devour hope, so a mori is well deserved. It takes too much time to pick up and hook someone and that would give even more time to survivors to break the totem before you can do something with 5 tokens which btw almost never happen. Its a terrible idea.

  • It was dead from long ago... There was no need to bring anti sluggin in 2022. The devs thinks we are in 2020 πŸ˜‚

  • That explain a lot why even in straigh tiny loop corridors you can miss. Hope the fix come soon.

  • Have fun and enjoy your DC penalties.

  • If you are in a rush test party with your friends with stake out, hyperfocus, prove thyself an resilience, its probably worth it to end the match fast.. and bore the killer to death. But for soloQ when you need survival perks the most, its worthless.

I don't get why the devs keep giving swf more tools to break the game meanwhile what soloQ players get is unnecessary nerfs.

  • The killer is giving away one perk slot from a total of 4 just for a possible adrenaline in the game, survivors combined have 16 perk slots. It's not really a good trade trust me. After all Wesker get their adept achievement you won't see this perk anymore.

  • Its the huge difference between playing solo or in a swf. And as killer you face swf most of the times, if you have been playing for so long you should already know that.

  • She's too loud, is very easy to track her i prefer Ada which is surprisingly more quiet.

  • It's fun until you realize how broken he is, Wesker needs lots of bug fixing to at least be in an acceptable state. I think only after that we can discuss if his power need a buff or not. Right now he doesn't behave as it should because of the amount of bugs he has.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I'm actually not doing too well with Wesker. I've been demolished by teams that are competent. I've only been able to 4k with teams that aren't playing well.

As for his dash. Survivors just step aside a little and you miss.

Even if you personally see him as strong it can't fathom how someone can say he's OP.

Every killer is at a great disadvantage when facing SWF and wesker is not an exception sadly. I got a few 4k too and i got the adept Wesker achievement yesterday but againts full squads.. the gens fly, and the 3/4 escapes are around the corner.

I don't understand either how someone can say hes op, his power is not great but not bad is somewhat in the middle but mostly because of the bugs and the "ability" from some survivors to "parry" his attack and deny the wound state like someone said before lol.. The devs should release the chapters more polished, Wesker state is barely acceptable.

    @Pyrosorc said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3163420#Comment_3163420

Simple: Most matches are on RPD, on which any 4.6 killer can easily 4k without using their power a single time. This made me create a thread saying how OP Wesker was too, until I realised the real cause by playing killer myself.

It really depends on the survivors more than the map, i got some 4k and even dc from survivors in RPD but also full escapes. Playing with friends makes a huge difference. But yeah despite the new RPD variations improved for survivors, Windows of opportunity from Kate helps a lot in interior maps like this and feels like a must have.

I am sorry but that is probably almost entirely on you. The collision is fairly better than in the PTB, you can actually go through doorways and the like. The hitbox sure is tiny but you should be able to get survivors most of the time regardless if you can accurately read their movements.

Im not talking about having problems while "aiming", plenty of times you get robbed with hits that should wound but they don't because the collisions are broken. Wesker is bugged like hell and in many places your bound don't work just like blight rush don't work sometimes.

  • How bad can you be to die so many time againts the bugy mess Wesker is right now? I can't count with my fingers all the times i have been robbed while using the bound.. that and the awful collisions make him barely playable.

  • Mmm Hello.. you are a killer and your job its to kill and make survivors suffer. In which part the game is telling you to play "nice"? That's literally your choice, you can't expect the same results by playing "nice" as if you fully commit to kill everyone.

If the game was about being nice it would have been called "Hug by Daylight"

  • What are you talking about? Looping was there from the start, windows never blocked and it was always fast vaults. Many complain today but back then it was worse for killers.

Now about nurse her wrecking power is equal to a 3 or 4 SWF squad, so nerfing her and not nerfing SWF seems not fair to me. She already received a lot of nerfs meanwhile SWF receives little to none. The devs need to adress that before and stop ruining solo q survivors and perks like selfcare..

1 2 3 4 … 27
