You might in the DBDM Discord server since that Nurse plays DBDM, I'll tag a staff member if you want the invite: @MandyTalk πŸ™‚

Good to know! I need to learn discord now πŸ˜‚

That guy is a legend, nurse on mobile

Yeah i'm a nurse too... But NOT SO GOOD. Pulled lots of Good blinks, chain blinks, fake blinks, upward and downward blinks... I tried, i can do most of it, but not so good

Oh my goodness! A Survivor is actually praising a Killer on the forums? Blaspheme! Don't you know you're supposed to run their name through the mud and demand nerfs to their class!

On a more serious note, it's nice players can appreciate each other for once.

And i once praised survivor while playing as a killer! Incredible uh? I break both Survivor rulebook for killers and killer rulebook for survivors. Shameless

Seriously there is no final chat on mobile? I hope it continues like this because if there is a chat, I assure you that there will be a lot of toxicity. I say this from experience, I am a PC player. Now that you can send requests to Dbd's profile within the game, it wouldn't hurt to remove it. I'm thinking of moving to the mobile game right now..

No chat, no chat at all! Neither a private message! You cannot send friend request directly. You have to remember the nickname, and go to friends, then check the suggested friends and find the name between last trial players!

But it has both his perks and his flaws. For instance, more visual cues (for people with bad hearing), is way back in the update and patch list... Stuff. Have to play to see. If i had a computer i would play pc version :) it also kinda lags on high end phones if you don't use low graphics

I don't even know what discord actually is πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ you found him/her?

Yep, no shaming here so that rule definitely doesn't apply.

It's not often you see this much positivity in the game, especially not on the forums. Hopefully this Napkin sees this cause if I was a killer this'd make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :)

    Good on you mate.

Both luck and shame of mobile version is the lack of a post game chat. You save yourself lots of toxicity but still cannot have a decent talk. On other mobile games i start counting the insults every time i win and then start reporting for obscene talking. In a game of 10 people i once reported 9 πŸ˜‚

This discussion definitely proves that there are still friendly and non-toxic people in this game. That's the fun there must be. I hope you find out who that nurse played! :)

It's a game. You need to have fun, if i wanted to get nervous i'd spend my free time doing extra work and not working. Cannot be toxic if you have this mentality

Only thing i could complain, in the game, is that the sacrifice is kinda boring. Always the same animation. I'd have more fun being sacrificed if they added several kills like in friday the 13th. But overall, i value dbd a Better game overall. I'm still hoping to see the xenomorph, Jason and some mind controlling or shapeshifting killer here on DBD. Would be cool to see a killer that can shapeshift and have a more dangerous but slow form and a very fast but very weak form (maybe someone who needs to hit 2 times in a row to get down an health status)

  • Wraith. No doubt. Being hammered to death with someone else's spine and skull must be extremely painful, even more if you have to be afraid of where the hell it's coming, due to his ability to cloack at will...

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

I have seen this tactic used in every match with a flashlight. Flashlight burning a killer in any animation lock against half decent killers is useless, since you will lose distance and the killer can listen for sounds? What benefit is there to this?

    Flashlight blind at pallet can be a smart move in several cases;

    1) against wraith, he's chasing you while cloacked. The stun lasts longer

    2) a killer has both fire up with at least 3 stacks AND that perk i cannot remember the name but allows to break pallets faster

    3) the killer has the perk (i think endure) that reduces pallet stun and you realize stun+pallet break will last less than 3 seconds

    4) you have fixated, so you blind him and simply walk behind him. He won't think at looking behind...

    5) you run q&q or/and urban evasion. Stealthy

    6) you are good enough to pull a chain blind. The killer will try to get out of flashlight range and will possibly give you enough time

    7) you are trying to get the killer attention because you were never hooked, your companions are doing last gen and they are not so good at chases and were already hooked twice. This is some sort of self sacrifice.

  • The one's that has lower rank :) i like to keep things... perfectly balanced

Props to you for playing Nurse on mobile. I tried her myself on there and damn it's hard. I thought console was hard but mobile is on another level even with the infinite chain blink window between blinks.

Yeah it's hard on mobile... but the satisfaction of pulling a precise lethal chain blink.... Is so good you cannot really explain

  • All of you guys telling stories of you playing with your girl and boy friends, and i'm so sad my girlfriend is so scared of horror things i cannot even talk to her about this game, even if she's quite an avid gamer herself :'(

On my nurse (mobile. So very hard to play) i play sloppy, nurse calling, stridor and agitation. Makes it easier to do some basement hook and then ambush those altruistic survivors who try their best to do basement unhooks... Or try healing inside my terror radius.

Like, ######### guys? I could even hear you healing without nurse calling, but anyway a nurse is very likely to run that perk... So Just.. don't heal?

  • First of all, thank you guys for the suggestion. I should really buy doctor, should I?

To give some context: i play on mobile so we only have 16 killers. We miss piramid head, deathslinger, freddy (but all of his perks are available as common perks) and oni.

So my build must be suitable without their perks.

Also, i only own nurse, billy, trapper and wraith to this day. Gonna buy leatherface very soon.

I'm thinking about also buying the doctor, since you speak wonders of him, but on mobile is harder to locate survivors (i played a whole game as nea running around Billy without ever being seen and i'm not a pro survivor) so i'm figuring out how to uhleash shock terapy effectively.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/171652/suggestions-for-a-terror-radius-build

A proper minimal TR build will vary depending on which killer you’re playing. The only fathomable β€œOne size fits all” method would be: M&A/Furtive Chase, other perks up to you.

With the various killer powers and various killer add-ons, it’d take me all day to give an example for each one. Do you have a (1-3) killer in mind so I can be specific?

My idea is to build the nurse as a min TR killer. Playing nurse on mobile is a real hell, but i managed to get good enough. If i can reduce my TR so much that i can blink right on surv without them realizing how close i am, i'm super happy. Also, the add on that gives me 115% speed after a perfect blink hit should do for a fun game, since they don't expect nurse to be able to pull a decent chase without blinking

For a max TR killer, i would go for the doctor once i can buy him, or also the huntress... Only down of her is her lullaby which gives her position away

the way I understood it was that there's always an 'executioner' in SH that has no form, and the entity gave it THAT form because it's the form it found most often in the minds of people.

Bhvr actually found some cheap reasons.

    @Mikeadatrix said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1438126#Comment_1438126

That works relatively well conceptually but every single addon is directly related to James/Pyramid Head. Like I said, the lore is a mish-mash of classic SH lore and the new crap.

    Even the darn mary's letter!!!

Anyway, i believe they should have gone for a different monster... What about alessa's burned version herself?

And anyway, i don't think a legendary skin could apply to turn a female Survivor into a male survivor. They would have to rework voice acting, movements, posture...

Btw i want an item for survivor that's a radio which emits statics when the killer is nearby instead of the heartbeat, when playing against ph or in midwich πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

We've already got an indoor hospital map and the devs wanted to have something from each game. Like I said, the school works because of the Alessa connection and Pyramid Head is the only killer who could've been chosen since hes the only monster from the franchise that everyone knows and is worth caring about.

True. But still a missing chance with James and the PH lore :'(

This qualifies ph for an unwilling killer, to me

  • @Mikeadatrix said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1435690#Comment_1435690

Midwich is Cheryl's map since she's the reincarnation of Alessa. Pyramid Head is James' personal demon but the devs really wanted to use him so they bent the rules. James was originally gonna be the survivor but the map was always Midwich which was interesting. Hopefully we get James as a legendary skin down the line.

Why not using brookhaven hospital instead? That would have been one hell of a map. Still, Cheryl's really not good for midwich. Better the mall map, is where you start the game. Not as iconic as the school, but i would have loved the alchemilla hospital too

The ones that immediately come to mind are trapper and myers

Trapper is being actively tortured by the entity to serve its will, even in one of the mobile cutscenes you can see Evan having an stand off against the entity.

    https://youtu.be/UtT_nnidtkA?t=111

Myers is also in a similar position, not because he does not want to kill, but because he entity wont allow him to kill the way he wants. If he kills all four survivors with the tombstone piece, the entity gets displease.

About myers, we got something particular to say. Despite the fact that the entity requires sacrifices, if i'm correct, it was full aware of the kind of monster the shape was. Someone who gets real pleasure in killing. Someone who could be hard to control, some sort of wayward son.

Either the entity accept the risk, or it's sure the shape can be educated. But myers is actually... Glad to be here and kill.

Trapper... Uhm... Yeah i simply love trapper too much to think of him as a bad boy. He even has an add on to trap survivors without wounding them πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    @MeltingPenguins said:

I'm kinda wondering about Caleb here. His main motivation is revenge and he's a bounty hunter. He has no beef with the survivors so what bounty is the entity promising? it did lure him in with bayshore and other bastards that wronged him, but the survivors...?

Yeah caleb was driven to revenge. But i think he don't give a ######### about hunting survivors.

Now i'm also thinking about piramid head. For those of you who don't have a clue about silent hill background; here we go.

Piramid head was nothing but the manifestation of James Sunderland (S.H.2 main character) desire for punishment because of how he ended up killing his wife while she was seriously ill, on the brink of death and insanity. The city of silent hill was so full of the evil that unleashed during the events of silent hill 1 that it ended up becoming self aware, baiting people who seeked or deserved to be punished like in some sort of purgatory and force them to come out redeemed, or to die trying, that it gave birth to the executioner.

Piramid head, once he has fulfilled his purpose once James accepted his Guilt and decided that he needed to go on and confront his own wife (dead wife. If you're lost, don't worry. We've all been there), committed suicide piercing his own head on a spear. Never to be seen again (ok not true, but the piramid head that we saw during future installments is not the true piramid head).

So he won't exactly be so Happy to punish and torment survivors who don't really have done nothing to be punished too. Let's not forget the fact that Cheryl Mason, who's also known as Heather Mason, is nothing but the reincarnation of the original Cheril Mason, the girl who Henry mason adopted prior to SH1, and who's the daughter of Alessa gillespie, a young girl forced by her mother (Dahlia Gillespie, head of the cult that planned to unleash the angel of destruction Samael onto the world) to give birth to a God. The same fate almost fell upon Cheril, who, at the last moment, decided to... Vomit, the stillborn god fetus. Yeah this is gross and complicated. The lore of silent hill is so wonderful and dark and grim...

Anyway; Cheryl mason never visited midwich elementary school.

Piramid head never haunted that school.

Cheryl and piramid head never meet each other, and never fought.

And most important, piramid head is the child of the grim, dark presence that controls silent hill. A presence which is evil, and power, incarnate. Something as powerful as the entity. So here we are, PARADOX!

Imo, piramid head shouldn't even be here. And Cheryl is the worse survivor to choose from the franchise, because SHE KICKED A GOD CORPSE. How can she be scared of things like legion, the nurse or stuff like that?

To make more sense, BHVR should've choosen James Sunderland, and pick exactly him from the "in water" ending of silent hill 2, where he throws himself in water, inside his own car, because he cannot Copy with the guilt of having killed his wife, and hoped he could join her in death. That would make so much sense. When he tried to escape his fate and his reponsabilities, when he failed to learn the lesson, then piramid head would have a true and good reason to haunt him again. Him and all those who he holds dear, the survivors for instance.

But piramid head never hurted the innocents for random reasons. He wouldn't do it

People do "challenges" like this. They'll hide all game and the last one to get caught wins. I've seen popular streamers do it. I bet those 3 were in a swf and were playing that sort of game between themselves. Too bad for you and the other guy who wanted to actually play the game.

Uh... Maybe? That's some real toxicity in there... Because of them i barely stayed in the +0 safe pip zone, thanks to the fact i only did 4 hooks, and almost 0 chase... Only iridescent was for protecting gens...

Oh, I guess I misunderstood. I thought they were throwing each other under the bus while also being really bad at the game :D

"Really" is really and understatement πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ let's just say they were "THAT" bad, where THAT means "bouncing against a wall, trying to fit in 2 inside a door that is not large enough for 2 people, walking in tandem, hiding inside a locker right in front of me, trying to exit the door with 0 gens done, hiding in plain sight, standing still for enough time to have 2 crows in top of them, while i was there looking at them and scratching My head trying to figure if they're AFK... But they were moving the camera to follow my movements..." Bad. Yeah. THAT bad. Such a sad game

  • @28_stabs said:

I guess generators, the least rewarding and the least fun part of the game, were boring.

Yeah man, but... Hiding in a corner is even less funny imho.

Also, you can't really explain the powerful feeling of unhooking a Survivor in full killer terror radius, then baiting the killer into chasing you and not him, and pulling a pallet stun, a vault loop and loosing the killer unscathed.

Exactly what they didn't even try to do.

    @tippy2k2 said:

Some people are ######### who can't have fun unless they're making other people miserable

It sucks that PVP games seem to draw these kind of people like moths to a flame :(

They didn't even tried to make someone else game miserable. No teabag, no competitive play, they looked like some scary little children First time into the game... If not they were all 4 perks, purple and red accessories and 2 add-ons.

  • A really solid theory, and i hope the devs are going to let us dig deeper in the role

You got some point in it, but i'm not so sure about it. I should read the whole lore but since i miss this killer i haven't bothered yet

  • I would like to point the fact that to see more than simple blood on characters who prestige 3 would be wonderful.

Scars on the face, wounds, bandages, stitches, maybe even a missing finger on some... What do you think? Cm'on BHVR, we know you can do it. Please? Or maybe even adding these details on a Prestige 4 new level? Pretty please?

Bonesaw* unless you're talking about the Entity as a female with appendages haha

Sometimes, very rarely, auto aim will give me a 360 hit and it feels really good.

In italian, entity is a female word for a thing/person with Supernatural powers. So yeah, "she" is the entity, with her claws πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ or spider legs maybe? They look very spider-ish

  • @coppersly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1413024#Comment_1413024

You still get visual cues for all sound notifications on console/PC IIRC. There's also a slight bit of auto aim or something like it but probably nowhere near as much as on mobile.

On PC and console Wraith is generally seen as pretty low to mid tier, maybe A tier with his best addons/perks. This is because other than his stealth he is an m1 killer which is considered weak normally. Mobile lacks the aim necessary (even worse than console) to have the actually strong killers be as strong there. Nurse is considered the best killer in the game, but only on PC since you need so much control over your motion.

I agree on the thing that auto aim is huge stuff, and aiming nurse is a pain, on mobile. Everytime i pull a precise blink and i can down my enemy thanks to it, i feel like the entity guided me with her... Uhm... Claw?

  • @CrowVortex said:

Should probably hide the names of these players, but yeah good job.

Like @coppersly and @Doddle28 said, i didn't meant to insult any player. I was actually very amused by the whole game and i'm pretty sorry there's no way to send a private message to compliment the survivors i mentioned, but i sent a friend request so i guess they got what i meant. I'm usually very fond of the rules in general (also because my job irl is based on it lol) and i read the rules everytime before i post.

About the mobile game, i must say they make it easier for killers because you receive a visual cue for every noise, which i'm not sure you can get in console/pc version. killers also have auto aim (only if you have immediate and direct LoS on the survivor. You lose it for a millisecond, there goes auto aim, and it also only SLIGHTLY moves your aim toward the direction the surv is going...) which is both a blessing and an hex, because while you're chasing a survivor and another one burst right against you the lock on automatically switch on the new one and since it doesn't follow it a lot you will easily bash your nose against a wall.

Survivors also have some NEAT tricks, like they can tap and hold a button to give direct 180Β° vision of the opposite direction they were looking before, perfect for an instant view of what's the killer doing.

But enough O.T., that was just to say i'm sure if i played pc version i'd probably be bad because you become very reliant on these tips.

I got just a question; in mobile the wraith is a slaughter machine, it's very hard to lose a game. Does it apply to pc/console versions too?

  • This would be a big No for several reasons.

    1) the entity feeds on HOPE, and so the only way to make her less powerful is to deprive survivors of hope. Survivors with no hope wouldn't struggle against a weakened entity, and survivors with enough hope would keep the entity strong.

    2) this goes awfully against the whole point of the game.

    3) some killers... Many, i would say, love this new world, and joyfully feed the entity.

    4) the entity is essentially NOT on the same plane of existence of the survs and killers, and the survs/killers have not the power to shift their plane. Is the entity that summons them on a specific plane every time, even allowing them to run away and returning to the campfire is something the entity does, no one is forcing the entity to do it. Also, when the entity manifest itself (to block things, or even to harvest the survivors on hooks) we can see only a small part of the entity, and that simple part of it is still quite strong since when a Survivor (kate i recall) threw a rock against her claws the rock bounced away making no damage at all, and that rock came from a plane of existence NOT CREATED by the entity, a plane where the entity had to accept the rules of nature etc etc.. this is the only reason that rock actually bounced instead of simply phasing through the claws. In dbd we are INSIDE one of MANY plains of existence created and ruled by the entity itslef.

So, since all the weapons and stuff players use during the trials are actually created BY or are ALLOWED by the entity will, if the players, which are the TOYS of the entity EVER EVEN THINK of starting a riot, the entity would simply strip them of all their weapons, tools, powers, clothes, organs, blood etc etc .. leaving them in a painful state for enough time for them to remember that rebellion is not an option. And then they would not be cleansed of the memories of that suffering, instilling an even stronger instinct of obedience in them all. Or they could simply be erased from the plains of existence all together (remember many survivors and killers died before getting into the realms, so they would simply stop existing) and She could find new toys for the trials.

So, gameplay wise, this would be absolutely against the point of the game, and lore wise this would be like going into super mario world and suggest Mario is actually a vampire and bowser is trying to save princess from mario. Funny, but senseless

  • @abc_9000 said:

so ever since i played this game in 2016. I am always wondering why when a survivor dies on the hook how can they go back to the campsite alive no scratchs on them no holes where the entity stab them nothing and i am still trying to figure that out.

This is actually explained in the lore. The entity feeds off survivors hope. It's in her full interest to keep her preys alive, and this is noticeable in the fact that she can resurrect sacrificed survivors and erase most (but not all, as from the diaries of Benedict Baker) of their Memories. If survivors could remember what happened, they would lose their hope and just try to commit suicide by any necessary means during the trials, becoming useless after just a wrong trial for the entity. It's also hinted that survivors that denifitely lose every spark of Hope becomes killers, at some point, but this may be yet to be confirmed (gameplay-wise).

And so having wounds, scratches, Memories of their pain and sacrifice may help them fully remember. It may be possible that survivors who escape the trials untouched with all of their partners could retain their memories about that particular trial, because despite being not satisfying for the entity, it would surely boost their hope.

This is also noticeable gameplay wise when ranking as a killer, because obtaining a 4K score in a very short time doesn't satisfy the requirements to get iridescent emblems, and is somehow considered a punishment for the killer.

Last but not least, remember prestige skins for survivor include bloody and sloppy versions of their standard appearence. To achieve a rank 3 prestige you have to play lots of trials as that survivor (or have lots of BP), so this may represent, my mind canon, their memories and experiences of the trials that slowly start to come together, and the power of the entity to erase their mind to slowly loose grip. This also explains how is it possible for survivors to bring items like a flashlight with specific add-ons that increase blinding time. If they didn't knew about this possibility, by seeing it first person, they would probably choose a medikit instead.

Hope i gave you enough to think off for your question

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1397515#Comment_1397515

That's why I agreed that on a conceptual level an original killer that shows off BHVR's creative muscles, often which take inspiration from movie characters. Hillbilly and Leatherface is just scraping the bottom of the barrel, for the longest time people thought Legion was going to be BHVR's version of Scream because they couldn't get the license (but eventually they did). Trapper is inspired by Jason Voorhees, if we eventually get Jason down the line then we'll have those two as well, and if we get Pennywise we'll also have two killer clowns as well.

So no, I'm not saying it's impossible, but I am saying to not get your hopes up because the way you have this killer set up he has access to "insects" as a whole general power which is a very broad category to cover. I say that because that's going to require a level of tech and effort never before seen in Dead By Daylight because you'd have to create and model the individual insects themselves, create animations for those insects, then program some kind of behavior for how they act in a swarm, how they interact with different objects, etc. so on and so forth.

It would be very complicated and complex to create, especially all for an original killer which could go either way in terms of community response, if people don't like the killer there's nothing that can save him or her except a lot of time money and effort for months maybe even years spent on fixing an unsuccessful release. Whereas a licensed killer already has an established fanbase, even if it turns out to be subpar there will still be people out there who will want to play as that character regardless.

Which is why instead of seeing candyman as a competitor to your original killer, you should probably see him as a stepping stone instead. With the added security of a licensed property and all its benefits to work with, this would provide the devs with more experience modeling and animating the insects themselves programming how they act in swarms etc. Starting at a smaller scale with bees, and then moving upward if they wanted to use that same concept and take it a step further

    Anyway, back to your perks.

Your clarification on perk 2 makes it undoubtedly the worst of the three. Killer specific status effect like insanity should NOT be transferrable under any circumstances, that would be absolutely horrible for a number of reasons. Insanity doesn't let you perform many of the interactions necessary for survivor gameplay, you can't heal, you can't cleanse totems, you can't do generators, etc. while also forcing you to scream at intervals revealing your location. It is a powerful effect, balanced only by the fact that you can snap out of it as soon as you are put into madness tier 3.

Or take Legion for example, putting survivors into the deep wounds status effect, all of a sudden after healing someone else I become injured and put into the deep wounds right away? That's horrible, that doesn't incentivize any amount of skill, it's an incredibly powerful effect that is provided passively so the killer gets the benefits right away without having to do anything, and worst of all it's not even a hex: perk so you can't even get rid of it.

That is fundamentally gamebreaking on some of the most basic levels of balance in this game.

And in fact so are all three of your perks. Perk 1 doesn't "seem unbalanced" it IS unbalanced, there isn't counterplay to that, that's basically telling survivors they can't do cooperative actions at all while within your terror radius. The only reason nurse's calling works as a strong but not overpowered perk is because it only reveals the auras of survivors performing one action: healing, your perk reveals survivors performing any cooperative action in the entire game, most importantly working together on generators. In fact it's not just an overbuffed nurse's calling, it's overbuffed nurse's calling combined with discordance.

Again, my point regarding perk 3 still stands. I'm not going to bother rewriting that point again for the third time.

And look, I understand the want to punish / nerf SWF groups, and create new strong viable perks for killers rather than the crappy stuff we've been getting for about 4 chapters now. But you have to understand that these concepts are fundamentally gamebreaking on multiple levels, you don't have to listen to my constructive criticism but that would just mean this conversation is no longer a dialogue and I might as well be talking to a brick wall who won't budge.

And I suspect that my opinions won't change your mind so this will be my last comment on this thread. Again, your killer concept is cool and it could work albeit with a LOT of work to create the power alone, but your perks are wildly unbalanced and would never realistically make it into the game without major changes (and I'm going to be honest I haven't even taken a deeper look into how the killers power worked as you described, for all I know that could be just as bad, but I'm not interested in running down another rabbit hole on this thread, because like I said this is my last comment).

    Glhf

I believe you're taking it a Little personal, or at least that's what it seems. I actually take in consideration these criticism of you, and i would Also note that i'm a main Survivor so i'm working against myself.

Little note. Perk 2 IS hex perk. You can cancel it by working on the correct totem.

Insects as of the power are not to be programmed as you say, because they work as a debuff actually. Just a little animation on the activation, then you can simply program a dinamic reskin of pallets, gens, and a little cloud of flying beasts around the surv body who's affected, and when they go sleeping, the just disappear or hide or you diminuish the number of insects in the Cloud. Is not a simple work, but neither a developing nightmare as you depict it.

About perk 1 e 3, i'm sure devs could simply leave them out of the game without discarding the whole killer concept

This is an interesting concept!! Could get some tweaks here and there but I like it :D that being said if you put maggots in the game I will cry because they just... disturb me so much... I would probably have to get used to playing against this killer because worms/maggots and such are like a huge phobia of mine lol

Playing with people fear and disgust is the main thing for horror games. Despite being often described as a party game, dbd is actually a robust horror game that gives the chance to go in various field. If i had to play a licensed horror game about, let's say, alien? I could not expect ghost or demons. Instead DbD can give us a costantly growing offer.

Also, if i had to recall one of the most terrifying moment in my 22 years of gaming (at the age of 4 my mother started playing horror games on my PS1 With me) i would hand down choose the moment in silent hill 2 where james's flash light runs of battery and the Moment you change them and turn it on again you find that THE WHOLE ROOM, including ceiling and walls Is crawling with roaches. I got so scared that i shut off the computer

    I was 21.

Broken until healed means broken forever. Broken Survivors cannot be healed.

You are right, but is hard to keep track of status effects in english when i play the game in italian, so i got confused. That being said, perk 2 actually inflicts Broken status effect to the injured survivor who healed another survivor for 5-10-15 seconds. Is Just a temporary broken effect, but it really slow down those survivors who heals each other in a matter of seconds thanks to medikits and perks.

I'll just keep away from perk 2 since I either don't fully understand what you mean by it or I don't have an issue with it.

As for perk 1 I recognize that, but even if it only reveals "coop actions" it's still a more powerful, if slightly different version of Nurse's Calling because it still reveals the auras of survivors trying to pull off group heals alongside other coop actions like repairing generators. Keep in mind the only reason it's unbalanced as it is is because of the massive range you have it set to, but even with a smaller range I'm not sure if that would make a difference in how unhealthy it is for the game, because either it's nerfed and the range is so short that it becomes redundant you should hear or see those coop actions taking place without the aura reading, or it's so long that it becomes oppressively unbalanced revealing a lot of information in too many instances across a trial.

My previous statement about perk 3 still stands. Rarely are perks ever created with the intent of encouraging controversial strategies like Slugging, Tunneling, or Camping. Which you combined two in one by suggesting that the perk only works when you're close by and it would make good synergy with the undetectable status effect, so you just created a perk that encourages merging both camping and tunneling. Which is a big no.

Punishing SWF groups is a noble goal, although it shouldn't be done at the expense of creating an unfair and unbalanced game for solo survivors which these perks would probably punish and hit the hardest.

But sure, as a concept, a killer who controls insects is interesting to think about. As long it doesn't overstep and prevent Candyman from getting in the game, there could be room to see both.

About the issue about both killers, Remember hillbilly was originally inspired by leatherface and then they also had the license for him. We can have both. And the fact that we can have multiple insects make it more scary than a simple bee killer.

About perk 2, the idea is simple. As long as the totem Is not cleansed, healing any survivor who's affected by a status effect becomes too risky unless you are already healty, so a survivor could only risk that if he knows the killer is very far away. Especially because he can't be healed for 15 seconds after that, but also because healing a surv who's affected by insanity, plague infection, vulnerable or broken inflicts the same debuff on the savior. The use is to discourage altruism, or to allow it only under safe conditions. So you can actually counter the act of 2 survivors injured by you running away and healing themselves with quick heal perks. It makes the game slower, and since the game is a race against the clock for killers, you may gain a few seconds or even minutes if survivors have to find the totem. It's not lethal, but very annoying.

Perk 1 may be very unbalanced unless you learn how to counter it (don't do these things, stay away from others, don't trust your companions or do it if you are not in terror radius). It's pretty straight forward once you learn it. This is real pressure, because this way you're really slowing down the game, forcing survivors to work on different parts of the map

About perk 3, you may be right, but i don't see a real threat if we tweak it a bit. For instance we can set is aura Reading ability only if you are at least 50-45-40 meters AWAY from the survivor, and then see who's 3/6/10 meters from him. So you can have a glimpse of what happens if you patrol the area farther away leaving a slugged survivor as a "bait" so you know if the others are actually busy with him or elsewhere doing generators

Off course the devs could simply delete it

Candyman is a huge community request, and a licensed killer people have been talking about for sometime now, there is some serious possibility we could see him in game in the future.

Also, just to briefly touch on your perk ideas most all of them are just extremely powerful buffed versions of existing perks.

Perk 1 is an insanely buffed Nurse's Calling, since it now applies to all coop actions.

Perk 3 is an insanely buffed Deerstalker, actively encouraging slugging as the dying bodies serve as large spycams within a 20 meter radius (which is huge)

Perk 2 is a weird one, and I don't think I fully understand it but it sounds like it's got a really broad scope of synergy with different add-ons and perks. Which isn't a bad thing, but with the trend of your other really powerfully broken perks I'd be worried this would suffer from similar issues.

For perks 1 & 3 you'd have to reduce the range these work at dramatically for them to not be stupidly unbalanced, even then I'm not sure how healthy they would be for the game, especially perk 3 which actively promotes slugging. Regardless of your opinion of it, whether it's fine or not fine, slugging is a controversial strategy much like tunneling and camping, and while nobody is saying you can't do those things (I do myself from time to time when necessary) perks are, generally speaking, never or rarely created to promote these strategies.

About perk 2, is just a hex totem that makes healing other players very punishing, forcing them to do totems and consequently slowing the game. The perfect counter for genrush.

Perk 1, with coop action i actually mean any action that involves 2 survivors doing the same thing actively. 2 survivors on the same gen, 2 survivor healing the same dying/injured one etc etc... So you cannot see any survivor healing himself or being healed by a single survivor. So is not a nurse calling op version, rather a different one.

About perk 3, i agree with you to some extent, but i'm sure i mispelled something since english is not my main language. What i actually had in mind, you have to actually Camp the downed survivor or be within 20 meters (reducing the range is a viable option) to see survivors approaching him and healing him. Is like a slugging radar, good in pair with the perk that gives you undetectable if you stand still. I checked, i actually wrote the exact opposite thing of what i tought. Why am i so dumb? Anyway, since survivors bleeding out is not rewarding in terms of pips for killers, i don't think it actually encourage slugging, but makes it problematic for survivors who slog away if killer gets distracted.

Yes, it may seem op, i know. But off course the last word goes to the devs, and it was created to bring difficulties in SWF comm parties, which is actually a smart move but totally annoying.

Last note... I actually recalled my mother telling me horror good night stories since i was around 5, and one of these was about candyman. But i never saw any film or something about it. Still believe this multi bug mostruosity may be very interesting for players

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/166717/would-you-like-to-see-this-original-killer

I like the idea of an insect-associated killer, but with your concept I have a couple of perk issues:

-'Hive Mind' is far too op. It works as a combination of Discordance and Nurse's Call.

-'Creeping Fear' would encourage slugging and camping. Also, imagine a dying survivor simply crawling toward healthy survivors and giving their position away. It would be a nightmare.

You are effectively right. Especially about the 3rd perk, but this can be tweaked! Also, i moved the discussion in the creation thread, and i don't know how to delete this old one lol

Sounds like a roundabout way of getting Candyman in the game, just adding other species of insects to the mix.

Played against a sweaty SWF at red ranks when I noticed one of them was clearly a noob (rank 17 after game ended), let him go and killed the other 3.

He had crown particles on him, so I let him go to get the crown. Not his fault he got dragged into my match.

Poor guy. I have no idea which rank were them, because on mobile i can't see rank after match. Hope they get this feature soon.

(Can't explain how good it feels to pull some precise blinks on mobile. Framerate is #########, it microfreezes often and field of view is awful)

Hey I respect that. Frame rate really does make a massive difference and so does sensitivity. I tried to make my list all inclusive but that obviously comes with this problem. I didn't think about this enough when I made the list so I probably should've dropped Nurse to High A.

Even killers like Bubba have problems from frame rate drops. I know when I'm running right behind someone revving the chainsaw the game lags a bit. When it came to Nurse I asked my mate about how she is since he plays her a lot on console. He said that she was S tier so I went with him a bit on that.

I also heard that the pc version of the game can have some fps drops on high spec pcs and with a good internet connection. This is a real problem to all of us.

And this is a problem that does not influence all the killers. Let's say spirit, wrath, trapper, shape etc etc... They mainly rely on passive pressure (placing traps, jumping around the map revealing high terror radius suddenly to force survivors to make mistakes, stalking, uncloacking...) But, to them, a 0.3-0.5 s freeze time is not so severe than It may be to a nurse who's charging her Blink, it may be the difference between a precise close chain blink and finishing on the other side of a building, having to suffer staggering and blink recharge time, and lose line of sight.

Also, our good friend billy could suffer, because of his chainsaw Dash attack. He has the chance to adjust his direction a little bit while going on, but if he fails bc of lag or a simple fps drop, he could end up on the other side of the map.

Now that i think about it, also Piramid head could have a bad time because of the ranged attack

  • @CashelP14 i have to make a precisation.

Your list is very accurate, but is susceptible to fram rate drops.

Let me explain better: if i played on a good working pc, with 60 stable fps and no drops, then i would 1000000000% agree with you my man. BUT, many of us play on pc's with low specs, ps/xbox/switch, or even (my case) mobile. A drop in fps is way more dangerous for a killer. Sometimes, on my phone, the game freezes for 1/2 whopping seconds (i got an high spec phone and a stable network) and on YouTube footages of ps4 gamers (not sure about ps4 pro or even xbox one x) i saw this is a common problem, despite being less severe.

I dearly love nurse, she's my favorite and i won't give up on playing her even on phone, but even with the add on that tells you where you land with your Blink is so easy to miss the target...

Geez guys, she's S tier on pc, but high to low A on other platforms.

Same applies to huntress and clown. They fall apart on unstable fps systems

  • Thanks a lot guys, you're all so cheerful and positive.

    @Vox_Nocturne @cheetocultleader @empirecrumbles

My next goal is to master the nurse πŸ˜‚ (i only have 3 killers, nurse, trapper and that killer with chainsaw but he's not bubba) πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  • He played very smart. He build up your trust and made a nice pudding out of you. Can you blame him? I really can't.

Also, i believe, sometimes is good to agree to a farming game. Like, if all the surv and killer used bp/exp offerings, then it should be interesting to play a game where killer get 8 hooks (2 per survivor), several hit and down with constant savings/healing a few chase with non hit and stuff like that.

But how it ends up... Is anybody's guess. Once you have full bp the killer could easily go on a rampage and kill you all or you could escape... It's all about luck i guess. I had an amazing game where i more or less carried 3 noobs survivors with constant chasing/looping, unhooks, savings etc and then i got Downed (killer was pissed at me).

Eventually, when i was the last man standing (well, crawling) he picked me up and stopped moving, so i could get off. Then he walked to every pallet to allow me to do stuns, and attacked the switch to let me know he wanted me to power it. After that he downed me and let me slug out of the trial. I'm sure he got +2 pip, and so do i. Had almost iridescent to all emblems..

It was his choice. Not mine.

  • @Desh said:

I don't think many people even know what is Meta these days since it varies heavily between ranks, consoles, and personal opinion.

Yeah, would you ever believe kindred is meta on surv mobile? And stridor is meta for killers, due to the visual indicator that someone is heavy breathing next to you? Bloodhound also does a great job.

And, btw, urban evasion is my go to for breaking chases. No killer expects me to crouch and slide away so fast they Just keep running trying to catch up... Until they see the chase blurring effect disappear and double back to try to find me.. and i'm already gone

    Also absolutely down for this

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1383208#Comment_1383208

Yeah but that's role/lore vs actual gameplay. That being said lot of the killer roster is less blood thirsty (plague as an example) or likes to play with their prey/do the unexpected (ghostface likes people being afraid and spreading his terror, so letting a victim go in order to spread the word is totally within his purview)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1383221#Comment_1383221

Exactly. Though, only in the context of a hatch given.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1383242#Comment_1383242

But the entity also feeds off a hope filled cycle the entity effectively resets the memories of survivors each trial so that they have an incentive to escape, who knows if the entity could feed of the kinda behaviour like that too. Absolute fear from a mountain lion toying with it's prey kind of scenario, letting them go whilst their transported into another trial.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1383252#Comment_1383252

I usually give incredibly good but not toxic players the hatch/or ones I know are 100% a lower rank then me/if there was a toxic DC etc. I go for my 4k's but it's not like I slug out hatch game scenarios every game sort of deal

Since their memory is resetted, they should get no benefit from escaping or a merciful killer after the trial. They would get no hope. They would simply forget. That's my idea. Being merciful is absolutely not "in-character" and so in my opinion it shouldn't be rewarded.

But i would honestly add a couple bonuses for survival time and "delayed escape". Like, if you, as a survivor, stay Alive for a very long time, you get a nice bonus (up to 8k Blood points in a brand new category, for a survival time of up to 24 minutes) even if you get killed (and still get it if you stay alive) if at least one of you can escape. If not you get half of that.

At the same time, i would add the same thing on a different basis for killers, up to 8k bp, for up to 24 minutes of trial, if survivors cannot escape fast, and this would be halved if you are not able to kill any Survivor.

And i would add a couple points to go for the PiP. Like in 0-8 mins no point. 8-16 a single point, 16-24 2 points, and 24+ iridescent and 3 pts.. what do you think? This way, both Survivor and killer would benefit from a lenghty game, and that would make some exceedingly good players slow down and risk more to achieve it.

Let's face it. If a game ends in 5 mins bc some pro survivors open the door in no time or killer slaughter them all, the players would not enjoy the thrill of the trial. At least, that's what i think from an unexperienced PoV.

    Cheers

  • @Yamaoka said:

Rank means NOTHING in terms of difficulty. I could literally name rank 1 (yes, not even 2) survivors who don't even look behind them in a chase and have no idea how to loop. They just get rank 1 by cleansing totems, unhooking others, healing them, holding the repair button etc. Even with ######### chases these people usually pip every game and rank up all the way to rank 1.

I must, sadly, agree with you. I had some really bad games as a Survivor, and i got a pip anyway (i'm only rank 8 tbh) despite me only serving as a distraction, or simply repairing gens, or even unhooking...

Honestly my idea of a good game as Survivor Is: do at least 2 gens + Keep the killer distracted for at least 4 minutes + cleansing 1 totem if the killer uses hex + doing a couple pallet stuns + unhooking at least 3 times + healing at least 2 times + get out of the trial without being hooked.

If i can do this, then i feel like i deserve my 2 pips.

I also play as a killer (only rank 12, but be nice to me, i have only 6 hours of play on mobile version) and i believe it's so much harder to get some pips... I had a game with full 4k, no unhook, no healing, no gens done, the game lasted less than 6 minutes (i was learning how to play nurse and i had so much fun dealing several perfect blinks on Lery memorial institute) and i admit it was bc of the survivors being pretty newbies... I got 1 Pip...

Killers have to work harder to rank up, so it's kinda obvious that, at rank 1, a killer should be much more dangerous than most rank 1 survivors.

Extra point, flashlight blinds are so much harder to do in mobile

  • I disagree. Your pov is interesting, and i think we could really use some "fair play", like when you had such a fun match that you let the best player escape (i did it, and i also received the same treatment), but still... The entity rewards his champions (killers) for providing meriless, gory, sloppy fun (and food). So letting someone escape on purpose should actually be punished with a -1 pip. Sorry that's my opinion.

  • @Orion thanks Orion. Well, in many games there will always be that ragey player who always try to trigger you telling you "this is not the way you should play!" And well, i guess i'm lucky mobile version has no chat feature yet. So well, that's also a shame i guess, because i would really like to ask some people how do they pull all the tricks i see them do against me (if on other team) but well, i guess i'm saving myself lots of insults for my poor performances ahahah.

  • @starkiller1286 now i see. Well i guess is still a stragegy. Maybe a poor One, because if you hook one survivor and then another one goes to the rescue, you are actually preventing 2 survivors from repairing generators, so the enemy team is actually 50% less efficient, and you could use that time to damage gens or try to find other survivors. If you tunnel, then you are wasting time... That survivor will eventually get unhooked, but his life span will be diminished so you will be almost guaranteed a free kill on the next hook. When i play survivor, i always equip the perk that allows me to see if the killer is nearby an hooked companion, so i know if i can try to rescue or do gens. (Or, if i feel bold, go acting as a diversion).

I think tunneling is not an efficient way of playing. And i Thought that was called camping ahaha
