sure! i'd love to know how items can replace a perk for the whole game
Toolbox replaces Saboteur.
Medkit replaces botany knowledge AND self-heal.
Stim add-on replaces For the People
Map replaces Clairvoyance.
Key addons replace Bond, fogwise, empathy, object of obsession and other aura info perks

Every time a survivor gets hit 3x by a beam they get injured AND broken.
Look at this MASSIVE field of drones survivors have to get through in order to get to the 3 gen.
All while I am patrolling the area. I was able to injure 3 bots and I HAVE NO CLUE WHERE THEY EVEN WERE.
FREE INJURIES. This is just as bad if NOT worse than before.
This is like saying skill checks are OP because bots miss them a lot.
-
I hope the beams are much less visible now. Drones should have been a very stealthy mechanic that require attention to notice. I want to get a stack from a drone and feel the same as when exposed by ghostface. You should be thinking, 'Oh crap. It sees me. Where is it? Where do I need to run now?'

Everybody does, but it's something not in BHVR's hands but on how the policies for platforms work I'm afraid.
Fall Guys, Minecraft, Genshin Impact, and Don't Starve Together all have cross-progression without breaking platform policies despite having licensed content and monetization through microtransactions and DLC. Policy is a navigable technical obstacle and a terrible excuse for not having cross-progression.

i'd say the complete opposite, survivors have so many useless crap in their bloodweb. i'm i think equally 50/50 player and won't ever p100 my zarina because it would be just a waste. nothing worth buying there.
Which killer have you gotten to p100?

Ok. So we can now revert back to on-release Circle of healing? You had shattered hope and still nobody used it. By your standards it was balanced perk
Nobody used it because it was only useful in a very niche situation, and not extremely useful even then. Shattered hope has always needed an additional function. Maybe allow dull totems to be stomped as well as show the aura of dull totems for so many seconds after a gen is completed. Even then it would only be meh unless paired with pentimento.
-
I think shards for daily challenges would be great. You would have more people playing consistently, decreasing q times and generally making the game more enjoyable. Additionally, challenges with purpose make the game much more enjoyable as a whole. Maybe you really want to win a match, and the other side concentrating on challenges makes that more doable. Maybe you'd like to have won, but at least you made good progress on your challenge. Everyone wins when more people are concentrating on challenges.

Something that I think could be fine as a basekit feature (for all Killers) is a pacman styled map traversal (before endgame). If you walk to the edge of the map, you can exit from the outskirts on the opposite side (after a sound cue and decent delay). This would kick you out of power and remove undetectable to do so (so Wraith would have to recloak, Ghosty would have to restealth, and so on), so that way you couldn't cheese a hidden TR. Alternatively a simpler version would allow you to interact with an exit gate to travel to the other gate (with the same audio cues and delay). Rough draft diagram below.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2QOSLJD7UHJO/maptraversalproposal.png
I think they could do a lot with an idea like this. Imagine seeing more of the entity during the transitions or something.
-
Even the basekit BT is abused for protection hits or free flashlight positioning after trading hook. The only way to avoid abuse if they buff anti-tunneling would be to make the unhooked character like a ghost during the protection time. No body collision or hit box, no item use. Hell, make them invisible so the killer doesn't even know where they ran off to. Even that would be better than people using the endurance to body block and then complaining of getting 'tunneled' when they get downed a few seconds later.

So you played 1 game against it, against a killer who didn't secure a single kill? Likely doesnt know what they're doing to get a 0k. Hardly a concrete argument.
This perk is so good on any strong chase Killer and is especially punishing vs. SoloQ. The fact you can proxy sweep areas and have it pretty much whenever you want is so valuable, I'm surprised anyone argues that "it's just a weaker than BBQ & Chilli info perk".
On very large maps like Borgo it's certainly not as strong as it is elsewhere, but on any smaller maps, it's a God Tier nearly always up radar that makes all your decision making trivial.
Unless survivors take Calm Spirit, you can: -
- almost always ensure you chosen gens are covered just by sweeping nearby.
- almost always ensure you catch whoever comes for an unhook with a trade, or sometimes totally intercept and slug underneath hook to increase your pressure.
- almost always ensure you can find your dead on hook target by listening carefully to the voice of screams.
- almost always find your recently unhooked target and prevent them from being healed/ tunnel them out.
- blind the whole team easily so they can't even use Kindred, Bond, Empathy or any other aura perks to see what each other are doing to try and work around you.
It's so versatile as a tool, I genuinely dont understand how anyone defends it with a straight face. Usually it boils down to "survivors have MFT" or "survivors have anti camp charges coming" as a legit defence... which means the conversation is over.
My point was about how few people are using it. If it was OP, why wouldn't I be seeing it as often as Fearmonger, Sloppy Butcher, Starstruck, etc.? It sounds to me like it disrupts you particularly when you come across it, but that isn't often enough to build against it, which is a statement that could be a good standard for defining a well balanced perk that adds diversity to the game and disrupts the meta.

One of the best ways to learn to counter a killer is to play as them and see what the best players do against you. When playing on console, this is not possible with Nurse/Blight/Trickster as these killers are entirely unplayable without a mouse.
Either these killers should be reworked to be playable on console, or console players should be given settings that make them playable with a controller. Right now, we don't even have separate aim sensitivity per killer so precision/ranged killers use the same insanely high sensitivity that is required to not get 360'd(a lag compensation exploit that only affects killers on console). We need deadzone, per killer aim sensitivity, aim acceleration options, separate sensitivity/deadzone options for when aiming/charging/using powers, and maybe even optional actual aim assist in order to be able to use these killers in any capacity.
-
I've played about 20 survivor games since first seeing this post. 1 killer was running this perk. We all escaped. How is anyone arguing that this perk is too strong?
Is this some kind of conspiracy among Nurse/Blight/Trickster mains to distract from how these killers need serious nerfs or reworks?

What makes you say that? Me vaulting, running away then getting sucked back over has something to do with skill and not poor coding/people's bad ping? My ping is a steady 20-40ms fwiw. Also not being able to drop palettes has to do with skill? It says press RB, so I do, and nothing happens. In all my other games, my controller works flawlessly.
I play plenty of other games, FFXIV, FFXI, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Resident Evil Resistance (of all games, it doesn't even have problems here haha), MHW, GTA, RDR2, no issues like this whatsoever in those games. I tested my button and it works.
When I stun the killer, run, and then suddenly I am dead does it also somehow have something to do with skills? I am really confused.
I have over 3 P100 characters, I know how the game works lol. This has nothing to do with me, and everything to do with latency issues. It's not like FFXIV, where they have dedicated servers to connect to per region and this game allows VPN, which, causes these problems...if you use a VPN there, in FFXIV and most other games I play, you get banned, because you can have advantages. This clearly is not the case with this game. So I want to know if this will be fixed, or allowed, so I can just uninstall it and move on.
So, perhaps it is you who has the "skill issue" understanding what is really going on over here.
Please offer something more useful then some flame comment. Thank you.
It was a playful jab, not meant seriously. It's a common joke response in the forums.

The problem with this argument is - that it's not OP for whole population of survivors. Some of us absolutely don't care if you can find us or not (like me). But for others - you are basically making the game unplayable.
It's the same thing as if survivor had a perk that would allow you to remove lockers... Most killers would absolutely not care one bit about that one. But then huntress, dredge and trickster mains will scream their lungs out and someone would just say - nah. The perk is OK. It's not OP and does not show up in statistics that much so it must be fine. (I am illustrating the point - sure enough deleting lockers is more extreme version, but some survivors play this game via hide & seek because they can't chase - for those survivors, distortion was a must-have perk. Now they are forced to endure also calm spirit with it's debuff and only 2 perk slots left for general gameplay).
What I'm reading is that a full hiding build only takes 2 perk slots. Full gen rush build takes at least 3 +/- item. Full running build is at least 3, usually 4. Escaping the hatch build takes 2 or 3 slots +/- item. Sabo build takes 1-3 perks + item. Being able to just not be found is a huge deal. Hiding perks ARE 'general gameplay' perks for those that play that way.
-
If it was actually OP, it would show up that way in the stats. Survivors would more rarely escape against killers using the perk compared to those using other perks. The perk is not OP. If anything, it's strong against bully squads, which is probably who most of those begging for a nerf are.
-
Sounds like a skill issue
-
I disagree with this. Hearing is how console players operate since we have poor camera controls and low frame rates. For us, Nurse Blight and Trickster are all unplayable because of lack of fine camera control. Spirit plays into the strengths that console players have needed to build. Not every character needs to be playable by everyone. I think it might be different if this were a licensed character. Anyone who pays extra for a character should be able to have a chance to use them.

I meant in the sense of specific killers, like I stated not things that are available to everyone, that should have been fairly obvious when I said "helps against certain killers", but in your sense it also kills perk variety because if everyone runs anti tunnel anti camp perks and nothing else then you have 130 perks that are just not used...
I guess anti-tunneling and anti-camp perks aren't great for my argument. I agree that there should be strong innate counters to those .
-
Camping is just a bad tactic. If the killer camps, do gens. They get 1k every match and they'll eventually switch their methods. Tunneling is probably more of a current issue though, especially with Trickster. I think they need to switch out the unhook endurance for a unique status. Be invincible but without collision or ability to body block for a few seconds. The timer pauses if you are running away from the killer. The pause function goes away as soon as the unhooked survivor OR the killer perform a non-chasing-that-survivor action.
-
I think they should miss pretty often except when cooperating on a gen or healing, in which case they should only have a chance to miss a skill check if they are affected by something meant to make those skill checks more difficult.
If you lose a top tier player to DC it should still be felt pretty hard. Only when losing a total noob should you maybe be better off with a bot.
-
Playing on console it's quite survivor sided. It's impossible to play Nurse or Blight. Seriously, it's a huge challenge for even an experienced killer to get a daily as these killers against a squad of baby survivors playing with controller on PS4. Playing an M1 killer and outplaying or just eventually catching a survivor in chase can be negated often by a survivor with a bad connection and a good 360. (This has gotten better in the past couple years, but still requires absurdly high camera sensitivity to counter, making killers that require aiming even less useful)
Why not just give MKB support to console players. If Warframe can do it, so can DBD.

I'm sorry what downside beside the aura? Do you think that's enough? Because I really think it isn't, a GOOD downside would be the survs knowing beforehand, then you remove the aura or reduce it's range. IMO of course
I really think they should make more hexes that are worse the more dull totems are on the board. NOED could light a dull totem for each survivor. If at least 2 totems are cleansed, blessed, or already hexed with something else, not everyone will be exposed. The totems don't need to be a must-do second set of objectives, but if you find one you ought to be thinking 'lucky' and make sure to cleanse it before moving on.

@thisislastyearsmodel said:
I'm only choosing Sloppy because it make self-healing even more miserable. I don't think it's OP, but it's boring.
Self healing is boring. Find a healing partner.
-
They just need to make the endurance timer pause while running AWAY from the killer AND the killer or survivor has not made any separate action to progress the game. As soon as the unhooked survivor starts healing someone else, doing a gen, cleansing a totem, etc endurance is gone. As soon as the killer hits another survivor, kicks a gen, breaks a pallet, etc, the timer pause for endurance is gone. Endurance would not be paused while the survivor is stopped or while they are running toward the killer. Basically change unhook endurance in a similar way to how they changed deep wound a while back. (if it can deplete in chase, what's the point?)
I also think they need to balance the unhook endurance so it cannot be used for protection hits. It's meant for anti-tunneling, not protecting the person unhooking. Really, just make it a unique status effect. No collision with killer, can't be hit, doesn't trigger traps, can't be splooched(slipstreamed), aura is not revealed to killer or allies. It's not as OP as it sounds because no protection hits or body blocking, but it would solidly let an unhooked survivor get somewhere safe before returning to game progression.
-
@Chiky said:
How are people saying it would be too strong? It's ridiculous
Still see which direction someone runs while kicking a pallet
See survivors crouching in a corner near a door you are entering
See surveillance aura change during chase without looking away from chase target
See survivor getting into flashlight save position (they would need to start going directly behind the killer and much closer, where their footsteps could be heard
Increased FOV is more OP on survivors than it is on killers, but people have gone through the trouble and risked being caught cheating just to make it happen with killers too.
-
@thisislastyearsmodel said:
Just make Shadowborn base tbh. You shouldn't need to give up 25% of your perks just to be able to see lmao
Even just having some kind of 5th auxiliary perk slot where you could only put less often used perks would be nice. More perks would get used, we'd have more variety in gameplay. A less exciting perk might suddenly be much more appealing because it fits in the 5th perk slot.
-
@Archol123 said:
Since there are a huge amount of killers in the game the odds of you selecting the fitting build to have counterplay against the killer is rather slim, it doesn't harm if certain perks help against certain killers but it should not give a huge amount of help compared to the base mechanics.
I respectfully but wholeheartedly disagree. I think the variety of builds in the game is what keeps it interesting. If anything, perks and items/addons should have a greater impact than they do currently. Very strong perks to counter anything someone finds particularly not fun to play against keeps the game more balanced, interesting, and fun for everyone.
If your least favorite thing is getting tunneled, you should be able to put together an anti-tunneling build that doesn't allow even the most aggressive tunneler to tunnel you. (There should not be perks that make tunneling easier to the point of overwhelming an anti-tunnel build as it is considered universally undesirable gameplay)
If you get frustrated by not being able to find anyone as a killer, you should be able to make a build where you have much more awareness of everyone's location (except those who's build is for not being found so easily)
If you can't stand being blinded, there should be a perk that prevents it. ('successful' blind attempts against killers with lightborn should still count for challenge purposes though)
If you can't stand getting 360'd, well there's no perk that really helps with that except maybe unrelenting which doesn't do much for it so I guess you'll need to complain to the devs and get them to admit that it's a lag compensation exploit that would be easily fixed by adding mkb support for all platforms but would ultimately be better resolved by adding full body inertia for survivors that would allow for proper lag comp and would look and feel fine because the survivors are in third person.
-
I think that they're an improvement overall but they need some fixes. Bots are too scared of the killer to stay on gens and they run straight for really good loops. I've had at least 3 bots that could infinitely vault the same window without it getting blocked.
-
I like to put knockout on Legion to get people to stay closer to each other since staying separate is such a good counter to the killer.

This killer have a lot of things do be rework, characters design, power, addons, mori,I mean, even the lore is bad.
Lets talk about the characters design ...
This random girl look like an fortnite skin looking like roblox 9yo youtuber to be honest, lack of memorable, think about the killer (see ? You only see the mask, and the ... " weapon ? ")
The addons are all for duration stuffs, like an little voice in your head, speaking about " camping ".
Alright, good transition, speaking about camping, speak about the power, and damn, its an mess. Its first ... week, you can see too easy about it as survivors, so useless in loop and chase. So ... how to use this power at the best ?
Good question, you have 3 ~ 4 drones, there is 4 survivors ... 6 ~ 7 gens ... alright, you know the vibes.
Her lore doesnt fit with the gameplay, and the mori looking like an real nightmare (on elm street)
I honestly don't think her gameplay is bad at all. I love the tradeoff for disabling the drones. That said, I agree with everything you say about character design and lore. Why do the drones just stay in place? Why can survivors see the zones or the fact they're being watched? Imagine how much it would ruin Ghostface or Myers if survivors were aware they were being stalked. I think it would be much more fun if drones followed survivors around, their detection not being revealed to the survivor, but it could be obvious by sound and visuals to anyone paying attention (like Victor). Skull Merchant could track targets followed by her drones. Survivors can hack the drone, so it looks like a tracked survivor to the skull merchant, but they get shot with a tracker as they approach the drone to do so.
-
The biggest change the game needs is mkb support for console. More console players would play killer, and fewer crap survivors will have inflated MMR from 360ing.
-
It's definitely not just playstation. I was in a match with someone crossplaying and they spawned in with a masquerade flashlight.
-
I've been having this issue on ps4 lately as well. I've even had an issue in the past week or so where my ps4 wifi connection is lost while playing dbd. This does not happen while playing any other online game or watching shows through ps4. Other devices do not lose wifi at the same time and all I need to do to get it back on ps4 is test the connection.

What about at end game when all gens are done?
I honestly think the exit gates need a rework. At the very least, it needs to be more dangerous to just hangout inside the exit gate. I like the idea of adding 1 vault to the threshold so that people can be grabbed when leaving the match. They could also make it so that no one can leave the match while a fellow survivor is on the hook during the first 3/4 of the EGC. This would make chases during the endgame much more viable and the endgame itself would be a bigger part of the game. Right now it's just not that exciting for anyone.
-
@Crowman said:
The devs are already working on giving the hooked survivor the ability to unhook themselves if facecamped.
Hook placement is key to building pressure against the survivors and survivors shouldn't teleport on hook
They would only get teleported if they were being facecamped so it wouldn't affect most gameplay.
As far as the planned change, it would still be easy to tunnel someone after they unhook themselves from a facecamp. Endurance hit is basically free since killer doesn't have to chase for it, then it's just a one hit chase with no chance for survivor to heal, hide, or find a loop.

Of course they exist. Medium vault is what happens if you stop next to window, press run button and vault (this takes 0.9s and leaves you touching the window from the other side so killer can hit you even after the vault).
If you run directly at the window for about 3-4m distance, you will vault window faster (0.5s) and you should be far enough from window, that killer can't hit you now (and this distance part is the topic of the thread).
TIL something new. Is it also a medium vault if you vault a window after running along the wall the window is attached? (rather than directly at the window)

your not suppose to be standing on front of a window after completing vault. your suppose to be like 2-3 meter ahead window after finishing fast vault. you can only hits survivor after completing a vault if the vault is medium vault or slow vault. they need to fix the bug or just revert change. it was already fixed. they just needed to reduce distance for male survivors.
Medium Vault? Does that exist? How long have I been in the dark on this?
-
It still really makes no sense why they don't have mkb for console players. It's not hard to program. If Warframe can have console mkb support, BHVR can too.
