I think the tome 4 challenges, as hard as they may seem are actually very good - I think a lot of you self entitled snowflakes need to get a grip and stop expect everything handed to you on a plate

Rofl. From my experience, anyone who calls other people 'snowflakes' is a terrible human being looking for any excuse to spread the misery of his pathetic life to others. It's the only way they can feel even a small amount of joy.

That, or they use 'Reeee! SNOWFLAKE!' as an excuse to be a terrible human being, because actually being nice is too hard for these lazy scrubs. 'It's not that I'm horrible and say bad things! You're just a snowflake!'

Either way, you're defending a terrible practice meant to gouge money from the player base. But you do you, because no one else will.

  • Yeah. I'm casual, and I love lore in games, so screw me.

But I get why; Rift grinding is slow without the bonus Shards from doing Challenges, and they don't want you getting all those free shards when you could BUY SKIPS if the Rift grind has you down!

I mean, it's just 'encouraging' you to buy a few Rift skips if you can't do the harder Challenges. You don't HAVE too, but you could..

..And that's all that matters; ensuring that the tiny purchase looks so much better than a hard Challenge or that long, slow grind.

BHVR; sacrificing fun for RMT. Feh.

DC'ing when the killer camps you will not teach the killer not to camp. If you stay on the hook and struggle till the last possible second you will allow your teammates to complete a lot of gens. THIS is how killers learn that camping is not a good strategy. If you DC you're only screwing the other survivors and making the killer's life easier. The more you know!

But if Survivors DC, they can claim 'That did not count; the Killer was being cheap' and pretend they have a 20 win streak instead of a 16 disconnect streak with 4 wins sprinkled in!

  • @Tohmo said:

It does not in fact. Plague's perk does work because the Terror Radius is real, just being carried by the Obsession instead of the Killer. However, Doc's addon's TR is fake, its only an audio playing.

Though I wouldn't recommend running Overwhelming Presence even if it did. That perk is very, very meh.

I don't get why people disconnect against him.

I just had a match where a Cludette screamed and, before the sound had faded away, the player had DC'd.

It seems like some of the sweatiest players have their hand on a killswitch at all times. Do one thing out of a list of 500000000000000000000000000000000000 they don't like? They disconnect & claim 'I have not died in 20 games!'

Yeah, man! Because you have not FINISHED 20 games!

  • The killer side is also BS

Ah, a man of culture I see

JT Music is amazing, yeah. :) I love 'Fight Like Hell' for DOOM that he did, too.

  • The later challenges are next to impossible, to prevent earning bonus Rift shards & encourage buying Rift skips.

Lore is locked behind challenges, so if you're like me: Enjoys lore, is a casual player, then you're hosed.

The challenges were clearly made with no thought as to the playerbase; they either require your team or the OTHER SIDE to carry you, and most can be completely screwed over if one person ragequits.

And those challenges all say 'Must be done IN ONE MATCH'. So enjoy trying, and trying, and trying, and trying, and trying, and trying, and trying until you get sick, give up, and decide to buy a Rift skip to get whatever rewards you want.

Or grind nonstop for a small amount of EXP to earn 1 shard at a time.

You can still level up without completing the Archive challenges. Feel free to ignore them if you feel that they're too oppressive. The lore will always be available.

Except the lore is locked behind the challenges.

And the grind without the Challenge rewards is oppressive. ...Which makes sense, since they don't want you earning Rift shards. They want you buying Rift skips.

  • Yep. Gotta grind the battlepass. Which makes the Tier 4 Tome even more terrible for how difficult it is.

Hold up, most of these are totally different than the challenges I have. Am I missing something? Are these leaked challenges for the next tome? PS4 btw, if that matters.

They're the Tome 4 Challenges. Apparently, when you complete Tome 1, you can click on Tome 4 & see what's there.

    But...it isn't

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/948/RSTE909GHL29.png

You can get there without doing the bs challenges.

Also, I disagree. Most are fine. Only a few are borderline impossible.

Agitated Advantage: You will probably be running Iron Grip as well. The second Survivors realize this, they will Suicide on the hook or DC. Plus, if just TWO people are not rescued, by sheer bad luck, you failed to complete this challenge for that round.

Brutal Breaker: Given the Genrush meta, you will NOT break 8 pallets (I've counted how many I break. It's usually 4-5.) And kicking gens? Maybe, if you're insanely lucky..which is not skill. It's luck.

Manifest Distress: Chase someone for 3 minutes with Distressing perk. Probably the easiest of the Challenges, provided you have Distressing on a Killer good at chasing. But since the genrush meta caps games at 5 minutes..Welp, you really gotta find someone FAST and never lose them. ..Oh yeah, and have a stopwatch handy.

Mechanical Observation: This requires Survivors to 'help out'. They have to keep trying to repair that same genny. This rarely happens. Either a gen is so low on progress that they just abandon it, it's in a bad spot (and thus abandoned), or it's so close to being done that you can't get back to it. Because you HAVE to move away before a Survivor will repair it.

One For Each: I already mentioned this one. Trapper is stupidly weak right now. There's too many perks that point out his traps, and if someone has a map, you will NEVER catch anyone in a beartrap again that match. Even before the RMT-Pass, a good/lucky Trapper got MAYBE 4 traps a match, and they could be on the same person/people, instead of 1 of each.

Six Feet Under: I also talked about this. The second Survivors realize what you're doing, they will DC.

Hold The Door: I don't get the wording. Does it mean every survivor still alive? Or do all 4 Survivors have to escape & you be last? What happens if 2 Survivors both want this challenge at the same time? What if you're the only Survivor alive?

And loads more impossible Survivor challenges.

The whole thing is a bad joke meant to roadblock players & inflate the Rift grind so that people will get sick of it and buy skips.

And, of course, the lore is locked behind it, so lore fans like me are just boned.

So you admit that survivors dc more because there ARE more of them. It’s not an illusion - survivors dc more. Period.

And I disagree they’re equal. Killers don’t dc every other game. Survivors do.

You do realize that he meant, if you were to put as a percentage, or average it (you know; that thing you do to see if two things are the same when they don't start equal?), it would probably be near equal?

No different from EA? Excuse me? Do you see loot boxes everywhere yet?

If you're going to draw comparisons, use Ubisoft, it's more accurate. (releases broken products, improves it with time, but keeps selling more characters and season passes)

Both EA and Ubisoft sacrifice fun for a bigger bottom line They'd rather charge more or 'encourage' RMT with fake grind instead of making something their player base would enjoy.

For the sacrifice all 4 in basement, use agitation and Iron grasp, I usually trap all 4 survivors, and the safely unhook should be available across the board, I.E you can get the 3 unhooks across all trials, and NoEd would be too situational

Some of these challenges I can see why you believe they are impossible, but none of them really are impossible but more of a "I want you to allow the game to reach end game to get most of these

They're impossible because the moment you run the toxic perks/play style, the other side will DC.

I firmly believe these were made impossible to 'encourage' people to buy the tier skipping in the rift.

'Either win the DBD skill lotto, or buy your way to a full rift!' - BHVR

  • Survivors do the same thing.

And go take a look at 4th Tome challenges; they are virtually impossible to do for either Killer or Survivor unless everyone boosts each other.

  • @MeatBycicle said:

The killer ones are phenomenally easier than the survivors ones lmao. The survivor ones literally cannot be completed outside a full 4 man SWF.

Most of the Killer ones require toxic playing or perk combos that will see Survivors suiciding or Dcing. They are no more achievable than the Survivor ones.

Imagine the 'Sacrifice (not HOOK, SACRIFICE) 4 people in one match in the basement'; You have to run Agitation & Iron Grasp and one Survivors know that, they WILL pull the 'I'm not having fun' DC card.

Does BHVR not realize that just because they can do it on internal testing where they are all buddies does not mean the goals are at all close to achievable in a real game?
