DH is still used in like every other game.
its still a third Health state.
Imagine how it feels when 4 players want to get a dopamine hit from your m1 attacks. Not fun.
-
What you think they do it on purpose? Why?
-
I believe you not getting a word in edgewise is part of the plan, if you did the hate content would be diffused.

That erases most of the value from that perk slot. Game balance is killer heavy already and you still have to know how to loop for windows to really be useful. Shouldn't go down because the perk you brought shows you real and fake pallets. That should be a benefit for bring windows that other survivors won't have.
Shouldn't go down...
There is the problem, you dont think you should be going down. You get to see pallets, you dont get to see what pallets are fake.
Kinda weird you would devalue one of the best perks in the game, because once in a bluemoon you run into a Killer that makes fake pallets. I dont see this as a problem at all. No reason to ever support a change to a perk that counters Killers. Not at all.
-
No, the perk is already strong enough. You dont need more value from a single perk slot.

But the problem is that it is an exploit right now. Survivors have no basekit comms, so they cant take "proper care", especially not if a killer decides to tunnel.
Personally, I am also of the opinion to have a basekit DS, but not the whole match. Just the first 2-3 gens to remove the exploitation of no comms. That way, a killer can still take advantage of situations where the unhooked survivor is not taken proper care of, but a survivor would also not be screwed over early game due to a lack of comms. The only other "fair" way is for survivors to be able to revive a tunneled teammate by sacrificing 1 hookstate each, which is busted on a whole other level.
On the other end of the stick, killers need to get a reward for hooking all 4 survivors once before they kill someone. Perhaps the addition/respawning of 1 more gen(but spawned away as far away as possible from non-finished gens to not make 3-gens easier). So that the killer has reasons to not tunnel/kill 1 survivor ASAP, but has reasons to search out other survivors.
The Survivors making an opportunity for the Killer to Tunnel isnt an exploit, its a mistake with consequences by the Survivors.
-
There already is, its called 'Next Year.'
-
Lets see...
- The Illusionary Generator needs to be automatically placed or the fakery wont work. (I wish Freddy had this rn.)
- Main Power, seems like you need to highlight in a way which needs to remove the Regressing Illusionary Survivor.
- Besides Main Power, not much is able to do. M1 Killer syndrome. 120 seconds is long time.
- Headache is Deep wound on m1. Could be powerful, but Survivors already HATE Deep wound and you want it every match?
- Mind puppets seems kinda weak to me. eeehh?
- Where did you Go?, YES I WANT THIS PERK. GOOOOOOOD IDEA. bHVR copy pasta this.
Ok, we got some cool ideas floating here. But it kinda needs something more to do while the big power is on cooldown. Could easily be countered by pallet simulator if no opportunity to use power. I would expect him to do SOMETHING while being looped.
There is something to work with and develop further here.

How? The data always share that Nurse is the weakest killer.
Easy.

Idd like to see evidence of Nurse still being oppressive reflected in the Data.

This is probably the reasoning, and I doubt they'll ever put a max cap on it either.
haha, Why would they put a max cap on something that isnt enabled?
-
No, Killers need to be able to exploit a situation of a unhooked Survivor not taking proper care.
You have DS, to change that. You need to invest a Perk slot for it. If you give base DS for free, Killers cant exploit any situation.
You talk about Killers not fearing DS, now what about Survivors not fearing the Killer? Seems like a bigger issue.
-
Suicide and Lynching Iconography is why.
-
Maybe its because we dont need Survivors and Killers dodging lobbies because the ping number isnt low enough for them.
-
I like Blast Mine + Residual Manifest it counters Nowhere to Hide.

If they can't find a better idea than "make her like Knight", we could possibly see her as a skin for Knight so they don't step on eachother's toes.
Knight does not throw tables, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Remove fatigue timer when you switch between Charlotte and Victor
Grant Charlotte the ability to recall Victor on deman without waiting he to die
Done, Twins are now playable
Im hoping they give Victor and Charlotte an AI while the player isnt on them, to patrol but also walk away from hooked survivors, making them less campy.
-
Twins is supposed to be next in line, my guess is that the whole power is getting reworked as to why its taking so long.
-
Lady D in DbD is definitely something that will sell a chapter.
But her Power is walking menacingly and throwing tables.
She COULD also use her Daughters to annoy Survivors.
She would be basically Knight, but with an AOE ranged attack with a table every so often.
yeah, I guess bHVR has stuff to work with.
bHVR if you don't give her a throwing table attack on cooldown, I shall be VERY disappointed.

You say good tools yet their last change to reduce tunnelling has done nothing except make the killer count a rough timer and still continue you tunnel anyway. Touché.
use off the record then

Idk how good a pretending to be Killer- Killer would be.

BHVR have been trying that and failing lol
Oh they have some pretty good tools, but if you want to never have the Killer be a threat then they are bad tools indeed-
However bHVR isnt working to eliminate the threat level of the Killer.
So the question is, what would you consider a tool to work against tunneling?
-
No, this is a very bad idea. Sometimes you have to tunnel. Give survivors anti tunnel tools instead.
-
If I hated bHVR I would not play their games.
nah, they are Canadian homies. luv them all.
-
Tunneling is part of the game, I dont see why It would be 'fixed'
-
You could easily make a Perk that is just borrowed time, but for yourself. That is basicly what you want.
-
And Dead Hard?
-
That Jill seem like a douche then, but honestly I don't hope this new HUD Icons will lead to Survivors complaining to each other.
People do take this Videogame a lil too serious at times, however I guess MMR needs some tightening up in the high end if this is a regular experience. But doing that WILL increase Q time.

It would definitely be nice to see on paper, but in practice I could see it turning sour pretty quickly.
Groups of two or more make up about half of all Survivors (varies per region). You're probably facing and beating some sort of group in each match, but you may not even realize it because on average, grouped players don't really perform better than ungrouped players. While great Survivors playing together and coordinating can be very powerful, the vast majority of people are just casually hanging out with their friends, no harder to kill than anyone else.
On paper, this sounds like a great thing. You'll see that you're beating groups on a regular basis and it might show how rare these unstoppable squads are, maybe even show that even competent solo players can do really well sometimes. But in practice, that's not how brains work. It's easy to look at a win and go, "I won because I'm good." - you just won what is supposedly a hard match, after all. It's a lot harder to swallow a loss and say, "I lost because I didn't do as well as I could." This isn't something that's exclusive to any side or even Dead by Daylight/gaming as whole. When someone's frustrated, it's very difficult to take a step back and think rationally.
I do fear that showing this would only lead to SWF becoming more of a scapegoat when someone has a rough match (if one was even present). It becomes an easy thing you can point to and go, "Well that's why I lost." - even if you killed multiple groups without any problem in your previous matches. It doesn't make you feel better about your loss, it doesn't make you reflect on what you could have done differently, it just directs your anger to people who are simply playing the game. Features which help you direct your frustration towards other people rather than reflecting on your performance will always be a tough sell.
And to be clear, yes, although they are very rare, there are some super coordinated highly skilled groups out there who could very well be very difficult to catch, and by no means do I mean to deny that. The scapegoat situation I'm referring to are the games that definitely could have played out differently depending on how you performed and the decisions you made.
Short version: Would it be cool to know? Yes. Would it be beneficial? I'm not quite convinced. Ultimately, the time spend working on a feature like this would probably be better spent on balance or new QOL features to make those kinds of matches less frustrating in the first place.
Features which help you direct your frustration towards other people rather than reflecting on your performance will always be a tough sell.
You mean how the existence of the Killer Role helps direct Survivors frustrations? 😂🤣 Teehee.
I mean to say I agree with you and you are probably right. But a lot of stuff in the game already does this.
-
Killer Instinct is designed to be un-counterable. Its the exception to everything has to have a counter idea.
-
The Nurse is only a problem for top MMR, bHVR should not waste even more resources on reworking Nurse AGAIN.
There are like 5 other killers that need help.
-
This thread is all hearsay, we dont know much about the matchmaking, players involved here and their previous games.
You should have flagged the game for an ingame repot and followed it up on Mail if there was anything worthy of note.
-
All you need is a competent Clown and you wont have any gameplay as Survivor.
bHVR should change this addon, change it to something like bottle hits increase intoxication duration.
-
I dont understand why bHVR needs to store Perk Builds, Power Builds and Item Builds on their ends.
aswell as cosmetic Builds-
Would make much more sense to store these thing locally.
I also dont get why I cant make a Perk Build to share on other killers or without addons being saved aswell.
Current systems are a good start but much is left desired.

I thought the new Mori system had to do with the base kit Unbreakable?
nope, it was just because they tested that AND basekit unbreakable on the same PTB

Maybe when the new Mori system is inplace.
remember what bHVR is working on atm

Not if they still get DC penalties.
Like DC penalties has ever stopped them.
-
If you get bots for disconnected players, then wont that just make Players who encounter the slightest inconvinience just want to say: "The bot can deal with this." I think it might.
-
I'm just afraid someone will get too upset or heated and then get me permanently banned even with no proof.
If you get Mad enough over Dbd to cheat, install hacks or something worse, there will be proof of it.
Best solution is to not take Video Games so seriously, video games are recreational, you are supposed to chilldown.

Why does giving food to others, not satiate my own hunger?
Eating at a Restaurant works, Eating at McDonalds works, but giving food to others?
Why is giving food to others an exception?

Imagine how many people will DC from this.
Twice as many as normal.
Don't become enchanted by your fav Streamer enjoying a hacked version of the game, it does not mean its good.

The short answer: Right now, they're a very basic AI that knows how to run and not die to the different powers, but that's about it. It's good enough to get some practice in, but some edge cases like this will happen. We'll be expanding and improving on the feature over time.
The longer answer: Bots are incredibly complex (and I'd love to do a bigger blogpost diving into it if there's enough interest). Not only do bots need to know how to hear, see, and move, but they also need to know what to do with that information. Teaching them all of this is incredibly difficult, unreliable, and costly in terms of performance, so we instead feed them a bunch of information about the match and then dumb them down. They'll know where the Killer is at all times, for example, but we'll prevent them from acting on that unless they have line of sight or hear the terror radius.
In most cases, this works great, but there's still some work to be done to make sure they respect every Killer's power. The Spirit, for example, is invisible while phasing, but the bots don't know that they aren't supposed to know that. That said, she does still provide directional audio while she's invisible, so it's not unreasonable for a bot to know roughly where you are and react to you.
I would love to read such a blogpost, but most of all I would like to try to catch maximum power Survivors.
-
I'm honestly not impressed with how prevalent Dead Hard still is despite being 'toned down'
I hope bHVR comes out with some numbers on this sometime soon.
-
What gets you clicks on Social media isnt the most healthy content, its much like Junkfood actually.
It tastes good, you get that, they deserved it taste in your mouth. But really if you take a look at how the game is played.
-
I agree, Knight is able to camp generators EXTREMLY efficient.
But Survivors could just equip Deja Vu and not three gen themselves.
-
Here is an Idea:
Make BBQ get reduced limitation for each survivor hooked.
At zero stacks perk function normally.
0 stacks after hooking a Survivor, all Survivors who are at least 40 metres away from that Hook have their Aura revealed.
- stack: fter hooking a Survivor, all Survivors who are at least 30 metres away from that Hook have their
- stack: after hooking a Survivor, all Survivors who are at least 20 metres away from that Hook have their Aura revealed.
- stack: after hooking a Survivor, all Survivors who are at least 10 metres away from that Hook have their Aura revealed.
- stack: after hooking a Survivor, all Survivors have their Aura revealed.
-
Ironically BBQ was good for the game, cause it encouraged people to leave to the hook. But the call to destroy the meta made BBQ not required, I suggest buffing bbq and making more perks that keep the game going like bbq.

I know it is a few days later, but I really like your charts and agree for all listed killers. For Knight, it would be even easier, because I am not even talking full summon. I am talking a one button activation to perform the break actions.
Thanks, I just hope the bHVR Community managers deliver it.

Easy there really isnt a good way to prevent face camping without screwing over normal play as of yet.
