  • Do you try and see in which emblem you lack? If it is the same one most of the time, it can be a hint in what you are lacking.

When i cared about rank i remember altering my playstyle to suit the emblem system.

While i do not recommend playing only to rank up since for me it removed some of the fun aspect of the game, here is a few tip for each emblem:

Objectif: If you do 1.5 gen, 1 or 2 totem and maybe open an exit gate you will have an easy silver/gold emblem

Survival: It's the nastiest one since getting downed once remove all possibility to get an iridescent, but it's basicaly the time you stay alive in the match so there is not tip other than than try and stay alive even if you stealth a little, which depend on your team and the killer tunneling or not.

Altriusm: Never go for unsafe unhook since it remove a lot of emblem point (-30).

But here you need 100p for iri, you start with 35 but default gain 20 for each safe unhook and 10 for each heal, so with maybe 2 safe unhook and a few heal you will get it, and if not gold emblem is 75 point which is 1 safe unhook and 2 heal.

Boldness: You get point by hiding close to the killer and by being in a chase, losing a chase only rexard half the point you eanred during said chase. For boldness, there isn't really i tip since it consist of looping, which will change each game with the killer.

Once again, do not play for emblem unless you know it's how you have fun, playing like this will potentially power level you to a point where you can only play like for emblem since you will only be with and against better player than you, in my case when i stopped playing for rank, i got destroyed for quite a few game because i was nowhere near good enough for my rank. But if you ever are frustrated by your rank it may help you.

Also once you reach red rank all the requirements will rise since you will need better emblem to pip.

If you want more information about what give you point, here the wiki page for emblem: https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Emblems

  • I won't repeat the power difference since it's already been said.

But power and strengh aside, the biggest difference between the two is that as blight, the survivor need to read your move just like any m1 killer, while as nurse, it's you that need to read them so the logic is flipped. Basicaly, if you have a good grasp on player mentality, playstyle and can confidently predict what they will do in certain situation, nurse should be quite easy once you get use to the blink distance.

I'm not going to lie, I wish I could stay in Green or Purple ranks.

At least there I can chill and meme around as Killer, since the Survivors are good but not obsessively good.

But just by the virtue of winning, you will be pushed into the abyss that is Red Ranks.

Exactly, i also would love to stay in the purple... But for me, the problem is that the average survivor is so weak compared to their rank that even if i play with a meme build and going for 12 hooks, i will still naturaly 3/4k, pip and reach red rank to encounter the sweaty game.

And while i know that i don't have the level to go against the sweaty red rank player, the abnormally wide level distribution will move you up because let's be honest, a corner blendette should never reach purple since we should only encounter "effiicient" player from there.

    Here are some tips:

    • Don't use unsafe pallets against him.
    • Loop him with decent pallets.
    • Use windows, they hinder him heavily.
    • Run Spine Chill so you get a notification to when he's coming, allowing you to get to a window or a pallet before he can get that free hit on you.

I am not a great wraith player but here my advice on unsafe pallets against him.

At an unsafe pallet, a good wraith will either uncloack on it or on the other side of the loop depending on where you went:

    • If he is uncloaking on the pallets wait one second so that he commit and run in the opposite direction if you can, or run immediately if you are afraid or injured. Depending on the layout of the map a 2 second headstart may allow you to get somewhere else. If he stops uncloaking pay close attention to him, if he tries to bodyblock you turn and go back to that same pallet, it's bad for you, but it's better than being in a dead zone. If he uncloaking while breathing down your neck, i hope you know how to 360 because that may be your last option (only 360 if you are injured, if you are healthy just take the hit and relocate to a stronger tile or a TL where wraith is at its weakest)

    • If he is uncloaking on the other side, NEVER try to react to his lunge unless you are really confident in your reaction time. Just stay in the middle of the pallet and when he is nearly unclocked run for one of the sides and put the pallet down, it's basicaly a 50/50 but that's better than hoping you will react to a mach 20 wraith lunging at you.

  • Just played it, unless i missed something, it is still the trapper only tutorial, so maybe they delayed it?

But on a more positive note the first tutorial for killer and survivor is even better now, in both design and information.

I always assumed that holding the game hostage as survivor means the Situation in which the survs avoid the killer without doing gens for a long time, so that the game doesn't finish. But if a surv goes afk they will get crows, I think it takes 3 minutes to get 3 crows, so even if the killer doesn't know where they are after three minutes he will. (Devs have made it clear that is is okay for the killer to let the last surv bleed out without a reason, which will take for minutes, so I would be very suprised of the 3 minutes wait time for the crows would be a problem).

I have also never heard that being afk is reportable for either side (and the game rules don't mention it), so I don't think that you are correct that both would be reportable in this situation.

Thank you for the reply. I thought that since both side didn't try to progress the game in any way, it would be the case but it seems like i was wrong.

I'm amazed how confindently people people defend this position when the Devs have said this about 3-gen Doc:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JKKQV57O8ZKQ/screenshot-20210406-005902.png

If it is not how okay for a Doc to stall the game for a long time I don't see how someone stalling for an hour would be okay.

And about the gen finishing thing: It is hard to judge if the survivors could have played better in this scenario without a video but that shouldn't matter, if the Survs are bad you can kill them easily and in the oppositional situation, where two Survs are hiding you also wouldn't blame the Killer for not finding them even if a more experienced killer or a killer with better perks might have been able to.

Also ChantyBoi, the Mods have said multiple times that it counts as holding the game hostage if the killer blocks one or more Survs in the corner, even if other Survs are still able to finish the gens.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2153185#Comment_2153185

This, almost everyone here is misunderstanding what the fault was.

While it is reportable and scummy, it isn't taking the game hostage.

Furthermore, if we read the mod comment on this post:https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2130212

It is said that "Beyond that, nobody is allowed to take the game hostage. Whether that's survivors crounching around in corners refusing to touch generators to drag on the game for half an hour or a killer blocking someone in the corner and refusing to kill them, it's reportable either way."

Which mean that both the survivors and the killer in this match can be reported for not progressing the match.

While the 2 survivors here went afk because they thought nothing could be done, it doesn't change the fact that they did not contribute to progressing the game and are as such, also somewhat responsible for this 1 hour game because the killer could have tried to hook them or they could have tried to do gens, however slow it may be.

I prefer Lightborn. You don't have to hit the survivor and there's no tell that you have it until they're going in for the save. I get a lot of hits on people that are just waiting for the blind.

New to the party is the blast mine and flash bang. Cheeky Jill wanna blast you? Well it didn't work and you can see her aura for 10 seconds. Good job Jill.

Franklins backfired on me once and I dropped the perk permanently. I hit a survivor that had a flashlight and downed him, but another survivor grabbed that flashlight and saved the original survivor with his flashlight. It doesn't even delete items anymore and that survivor that has his key dropped is going to run built to last and regenerate charges when he needs them for the hatch. The only real punished player is medkit users which might be enough, but eh.

    Please do not do this.

    Sincerely, blastmine user.

  • Blastmine, my current record is blinding the killer 4 times in 1 match.

  • I would say it depend on what survivors usually do against you.

In my opinion, it depend on what you think you need the most:

Do you need to catch up to survivor: STBFL

Do they predrop and you need to get rid of pallets quickly: brutal strengh

Do you need a bit of regression/tracking: Oppression

For other good perks, i would say bbq (I love my 2x bp), sloppy butcher since it will always applie on m1 hit (i think it will stack with clourophobia?). You also have the meta build with pop ruin undying and all the other serious combo out there.

I don't think it work with distressing or clourophobia but dark devotion is also fun on him since nobody exepct a doctor with no terror radius, you can get some good jumpscare.

  • Yes, let's remove the rank system altogether, i can't wait for the toxic player to bully the hell out of the beginner on both side and destroy every attemp to have a renewal of player into the game.

  • @KayTwoAyy said:

If you're mad at another player for "winning" the game by certain means, perhaps you should think of better ways to counter those strategies.

    You are entirely right.

But here is my unpopular opinion.

For me, the bigger problem with that is:

If you're mad at another player for "winning" the game a certain means, perhaps review your mentality, because in an online pvp game, your opponent shouldn't care about what the other side want them not to do as, annoying as it may be.

As comparison, it's like a 10 year old in a shooter game complaining that they lost because the opponent use x or y weapon, it's just dumb.

While you are allowed to be annoyed, if you are so angry about it that you bring it up in the end game chat, you are just a whinny baby that shouldn't play pvp game. If there exist a scenario in which you can lose in a certain way, you need to expect that one day you will lose that way.

But with that said, i totally understand getting angry with some strategy (hard tunneling and facecamping in my case), but i just put up with it because there isn't anything wrong with what they have done.

And to all the bully squad out there, don't you dare complain if the killer manages to kill some of you. You tried to bully him/her and you got bullied back, there is nothing wrong with that. Hell, i will even say that you deserve to be bullied by said killer.

  • For me it's kindred. I had it for so long that i forgot you aren't supposed to see the other survivor aura without it. I was angry at them for a good 30s before i realised that they weren't in a locker, i just couldn't see them.

Not sure what servers you are on but here in the UK roughly 70% of my trials, played about 15 games, as survivor yesterday had tunnelling and camping killers.

I'm in the same server as you so either you are unlucky or i am really lucky with my matches. If i didn't forget any, it's been a while since i have seen a face camping killer in purple/red ( i nearly always use kindred so i think i would remember), and i don't often see killer tunnelling (in the sense of ignoring every other survivor until the first one is dead). Though maybe i don't feel like i play against them because i am not at the one being camped/tunnelled in my match. After all what i said was only personal experience and is likely to be wrong/differs depending on the players.

  • Unfortunately, you just need to power through these rank. I've rediscovered it with the rank reset bug when i was sent back to yellow rank, because i've seen more camping/tunneling/facecamping in 3 days in yellow/green rank, than in 4 months in purple/red rank (though i could have just been unlucky).

But if you want advice, the only thing you can do in this type of game is either loop well enough so that you can earn points before going down, have you and your friends take borrowed time to try and take turns on the hook or stealthing it up and letting your teammates take the blow while you do gens/chest/totem to guarantee at least a safety pip.
