Why? Do you know the correct one? I doubt.

That number is my own experience as rank 1 killer and survivor, swf player btw. BHVR themselves are unable to release useful stats, so i have to use my own observations to build my opinion. Am i wrong?

Then please send me your collected data sheets from which you calculate the 95% from.

SwF groups will kill this game off at some point. Of course, not all SwF groups are toxic asses, but a lot are, and it's kind of sad that they feel the need to do it. I had a 4 man SwF on xbox earlier, all red ranks with me being green, and I got the win fairly easily. Because of this, they all felt the need to send me messages telling me I cheated, camped, hacked, I need to uninstall the game, and various offensive words that I won't repeat here. As long as this kind of behaviour continues from these kinds of groups, this game will stay one step behind what it could be in my opinion.

SwF is a minority. Especially 4 man SwF is VERY rare to encounter.

If you would have checked the link provided by the post before yours you would've seen that.

That's why i used the term "are used to" and not "do win". Big difference m8.

No difference. In both cases it is incorrect and a false number.

Oh wait but I was already purple and im about to purple again after tonight and guess what....all browns wow that's crazy but whats even crazier is you wanted to act like you read my post so at the end youre saying that the match making works in a secret way that only you know that I would love for you to explain but...oh no wait, that's not true! And also makes the rest of your post irrelevant, you said I would be purple if I had purple skill but then you said it has nothing to do with color oh my god its just so so sooooooo sooooooooooo; cringe.

Like straight up, you didn't read my post and got called out for leaving a dumb comment. You made a mistake. I dont judge you for that because even if it was silly not to read my post you were just replying to the title. Now youre making up some bs about a secret ranking system at work like come on man lol, people on the internet can never admit when theyre wrong

I can very well admit when I am wrong, but I did read your confusing and lamenting initial post. I did not respond to your title alone.

It came across as narcissistic and arrogant.

That and the fact that the forum is being spammed by self righteous cry posts like this one is why I responded the way I did. You have not earned any respect with that childish lamenting and defeatist attitude. I hope you are not an adult.

You talk about cringe, yet most of the stuff you wrote so far reminds me of a bad comedy.

About the matchmaking they stated on steam that it searches differently now since the last mm update, also to reduce waiting times, and there are more lower rank players than higher rank, but if you keep getting a lot lower rank players every time it indicates in my opinion that it is also due to personal stats.

I sometimes played bad for a week or so and suddenly got constantly matched with lower players until I improved again.

And if you truly think that the entire matchmaking system of a game like this is 5 lines of code that compare an integer number from 1 to 20 then I don't know what to tell you...

I never said "matchmaking had nothing to do with rank and colour". I said it goes BEYOND rank and colour. I said there are other factors that also go on there.

It did not contradict my statement that if you keep playing you will get to the rank that roughly resembles your skill.

That is what your childish and hysterical way of thinking interpreted it as. Oh so cringe?

You say that you are now back to purple. Congrats to you. But then where is your problem exactly? Then you can pip and have fun despite playing with and against the untouchable not worthy browns?

The only legit critic I saw in your initial post is that players disconnect on purpose.

Guess what? It happens less but still happens in higher ranks...

And yes that is one point we can agree on. Dc needs punishment.

But if you hate the game at the moment so much then why are you playing it?

It is a casual game for fun. And not something serious.

That is also the only thing it can add to your life. Fun. But definetly not if you expect it to be perfect and 100% what you want all the time.

I play SWF with brown friends sometimes and those were some of the most hilarious games so far.

  • @FriendlyGuy said:

Try to get official stats for the term "are used to". Or official stats for anything relating coordinated swf.

    Then don't use absolute numbers...

"SWF in red rank are won by survivors 90,5254456% of the time proven scientifically by my personal opinion and rough feeling without any data to back it up."

  • @VoodooChild said:

You know I had a reply saying something very similar, it was mocking what people would get if they just read the title and none of the post.

Now you could type some bullshit about how you did read but only wanted to reply to the title (What the last guy said) or you can realize what youre doing is pretty dumb, and not reply to ######### you dont read. Cuz how tf you care enough to reply to something you didn't read.....I dont even reply to most ######### I do read and have an opinion about

I read your post. That was enough bullshit for one day. That's why I did not read anything after your initial post.

If you would have purple skill, you would be purple rank. Simple as that.

You can still pip if your team is #########.

They are not responsible for your low personal score and stats.

You get matched with browns for a reason.

The matchmaking balance goes beyond the number and colour....

  • I SHOULD EARN A BILLION EUROS A MONTH, BUT IT IS OTHER PEOPLE'S FAULT THAT I AM NOT!1!111!!!

YOU ARE ALL HOLDING ME BACK!!!

  • "I don't understand the game mechanics well, and I dunt get 4K in all my games. Must be the Game's fault, let's pointlessly rant in a forum to an extent that it spams people's Google news feed!!!1!11"

Well at high ranks suspected SWF I see survivors outplay me a lot though.

The difference is I don't blame the game because I know and saw there are Killer players out there who manage to do it a lot better.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/953224#Comment_953224

Okay. Coordinated 4man r1 swfs are used to win 95% of their matches. Better?

No. Where is that number coming from? Please link the official statistics you got it from.

  • @FriendlyGuy said:

SWF players are used to win 95% of their matches. Some of them got a god complex because of that and are toxic for the same reason. They can do it, there's literally one build that can stop them at the moment.

I hate when people just pull numbers out of their butt's...

I can guarantee you that they do not have such a high Winrate.

  • Well much appreciation for the effort, but you have to see that most of these forum posts that you saw are made by a loud minority.

Sadly balancing DbD is a tough task.

We are not talking about Counter Strike here or something like that.

Your idea pretty much turns it into another game or at least another Gamemode.

The thing is that for Medium ranks, which is the majority of the player base, the game is quite balanced. These people generate most money. They have priority.

In casual ranks mostly survivors lose and the killer gets 4k. In experienced ranks and good SWF killers mostly lose. These two groups constantly post about their bad experiences.

In a perfect game it would be balanced for all ranks. But achieving that with an asynchronous complex game like DbD, without messing with the ranking system and it's "purity" is almost impossible.

I often heard high ranks like 5 to 1 complain about the developers not listening to them. They have to understand, that this is not League of Legends. They are not pro players earning their money with DbD and filling entire stadiums with spectators, generating money for the devs... If they implement the changes asked for by them here in the forums I am quite sure the player base will shrink and less money is generated.

The casual ranks and their suggestions also will be ignored because they see things from an inexperienced perspective and inevitably they will learn and find themselves, being in the medium ranks as well.

I'm not saying that it is perfect the way it is and the devs are working on improving and satisfying most people.

But you can never satisfy all people and DbD stays an enormous task to fully balance for all players in it's asynchronous nature, without remaking it completely.

This is by the way, what many investors in the gaming industry and other developers voiced their concerns about when the idea of DbD got public back then.

And for such an almost impossible task I'd say the devs are doing a great job.

I think people from either side can be entitled. I’ve seen it go both ways. My best advice is not to let it get to you and move on to the next match. People are going to complain regardless, it is a PvP game after all.

Yes but when you play killer of course you do not encounter other stupid killers because you play alone.

And to encounter them as survivor, the chance is also smaller because 3 other survivors in the game but only one killer.

I experienced idiots on both sides.

  • The devs should just stop with the game and remove it from Steam. Was a nice idea didn't work.

Stopped playing it. Can recommend that. 10/10

  • And here we go. one of the thousand identical gen too fast threads. Why won't moderators close these? Use the search function and post in the old ones. At this point it is just spam.

  • @Tr0g said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/947706#Comment_947706

If nobody plays killer, there is no game. Survivor queues are already very long while killer queues are instant, due to a lack of killers.

I have the complete opposite on PC.

  • Just ignore them. They are a very loud minority.

They have 0 understanding about Game Design and development.

One thing that truly needs to be done though is better network implementation. Still happens to me that killers miss me by meters and suddenly I'm hurt or down.

But I'm sure it is being worked on.

  • Well the problem in general of DbD will always be the imbalance. This point can not be fixed easily as I explained in many posts regarding Game Design.

It will always be a dieing stimulator for newer or casual players, while it is more like the Roadrunner cartoons for red rank SWF.

The current balance for the "middle" ranks is the one that satisfies most players, which is an OK thing to do.

I understand why they did not add voice chat for the solo survivors. Because atmosphere and feeling.

But i think it was a bad move. Because with voice chat to begin with you don't have the SWF problem to balance.

Regarding to the rank imbalance, the only solution I would see is adding extra challenges for survivor out perks for killers to higher ranks which is an anti thing to do with ranking systems and philosophies.

Also think about that most killers play very differently and it could easily create more killer intern balance issues.

Some perks of killers seem to be imbalanced and are so rightfully.

In an asynchronous game like DbD it is not a game breaker to have things like NOED, etc. Or keys... It is actually designed to be imbalanced.

The only thing i see resources will spent for balancing is map design. For my experience in middle ranks there are certain maps that favour certain killers extremely, while others are very survivor sided.

For example the meat factory is a horrible experience for casual survivor players, because of the 2 floors. Alone the audio is startling here, playing mind games with you.

I think another big issue with balance that could be fixed is the matchmaking that puts skilful und casual players together in matches. I think this is the biggest issue through all ranks.

In general though I would say most people who complain are taking DbD too seriously.

It is not an esports level competitive game.

There are no stadiums filled with players cheering professional squads as athletes.

It is a casual game overall.

  • @ThisGuuy83 said:

That's because killers are fed up with getting bullied by SWF's on broken maps that give them the complete advantage that they choose on purpose, running coms with tool boxes, insta-heals, keys, and clicky-clicky.

"getting bullied" = not getting 4k

  • Killers have way too much info on the survivors. It is ridiculous.

  • I actually stopped playing survivor because of this.

I had many games in which the killer hooked me and just stayed 2m in front of me, sometimes even mocking me...

Because I always took kindred most of the time other survivors rushed gens while he camped me until sacrifice...

In the end all they did with that was ruining my game and their own while 3 survivors made the escape...

I liked DbD in the beginning but I hate the community. And I mean HATE.

It is the worst and most unsportsmanlike I've experienced so far.

And then people also just take it too serious in terms of playing it...

It is kind of a casual game. It does not fill stadiums and esports events with people. There are no professional players earning money with it. Yet many people develop this crazy need to talk big loads of ######### about micro balance (most are salty because the game is balanced for the more inexperienced players, makes sense because they are the source of money) , while the game still has flaws in it's basic mechanics...

That's why I mostly stopped playing DbD except the one or other killer game...

  • @DwightOP said:

Don't forget the memory leak which makes going back to main and into a role take forever. I love this game now, finally I can waste more time. Who needs QoL??

What memory leak? Are there any official bug issues?

I don't think I ever had that on DbD.

  • The discussions in this forum are pointless. I broke the problems of DbD and it's balance down in other threads and why a loud minority just keeps yelling here no matter what the devs do.

It is not so much about the game it is about people not understanding game design and game dev work in general.

Also you can't satisfy everybody and what they do is to satisfy the ranks with most players.

  • I just don't see the issue with the keys. I see many threads like these but it is still just a loud minority complaining.

I can't tell for the top ranks but with normal players keys are rare and even more rarely succeed.

Ahh gotcha. I'd be very surprised if the entitled survivor community didn't back last horribly over that idea lol.

Yes exactly. After all their crying around about minor perk changes of theirs or even about bug fixes I think they just complain all the time. Only the survivors! Especially when their control bug that enabled a too powerful attack got fixed and they went mental over not being able to use it anymore. Oh wait....

I don't think people's problems would/should boil down to the debuffs, I personally believe that, rationally, BHVR could get away with a change like this, based on the idea that no person alive could ever be injured like that and have the focus or affinity to work on gens or other "complicated" stuff, plus the fact that gen rushing is a bit of a problem for a lot of people, but I personally don't believe that sloppy or thana need buffs even if its slightly in this scenerio (I'll finish that thought later), I also don't think that plague needs a buff, but a rework, she is the killer nobody needed or asked for, a lot of people hate playing as her because of her weird playstyle and the fact that her puke has a really weird hitbox and a lot of people hate playing against her because most people that use her just go for the braindead aproach with her of just puking at you until youre injured, even if your litterally at basic attack distance. I think she could benefit a lot from a rework so that she doesn't feel so braindead and has a more suitable playstyle.

Now about sloppy and thana, sloppy has been stronger than ever since that ridiculous overbuff they did to it, and thana is really well balanced in it's state, buffing them even if it's indirectly would be really bad for the balance of the game especially when people have been using them both together a lot lately (wich is a preetty scumy thing to do since they both make healing unbareably slow when together)

The gas can thing though wouldnt be bad as long as there are more gas cans than survivors so that it doesn't hurt someones chances of getting one in case a killer decides to closely guard 1 or more of them, I also don't think the killer should be able to see the auras of gas cans (if they should have) so that at least its an even playing field in that regard

Yes also it is unrealistic that the killers have superpowers. I think they should be removed so it is in unity with the real world. Because that's what games are about. Being as realistic as possible. All of them. Without exception.

This is not gonna happen. You just tell me that if i queue, i have to play the game no matter what or i'll get a timeout. BIG LOL

In most other competitive games you get a penalty for dodging the lobby. In ranked modes often even an instant loss.

  • Yea surely the game will be so interesting only with solo queue...

If they ditch it then I'm out. Playing with friends is the only good mode where you can rely on people and don't get randoms in your team who don't know how to play.

  • @underlord99 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/930772#Comment_930772

like I said earlier , two people getting out only for completing 3 gens is not balanced.

Well they also have to find the hatch. And when 2 players are left and there are still 2 gens to repair, in beginner ranks most won't make it.

What could maybe be done is that the key only works for the carrier. But then that would maybe in some situations promote anti team play.

  • And here we go again.

    Another DbD crybaby thread.

There are conditions for the hatch to spawn.

I usually find one key every few bloodweb pages. Usually around 3. And then often I have to choose between a key and a perk...

I found working keys during the last months in chests very rarely. Maybe 5 times. Most of the time it is a broken key.

In matches with random players keys are not that powerful. Without communication it is not easy to do anything good with them. Also these matches I tend to lose more and also lose the key.

In premade teams they can be rough though if one takes a key and one other a map. They then have the location and can focus on repairing x+1 generators.

I mean i get what you are saying, but I think it is not as bad as you make it seem. I rarely witnessed key escapes.

The entire forums of this game are just filled with back and forth crying from both sides.

But of course it is not easy to balance the game, true.

There seem to be 3 different skill groups.

Within the beginner ranks I have the feeling mostly killers are winning.

Experienced player ranks it is roughly 50/50.

And the high ranks keep saying that it is mostly survivors who win.

Another balance factor is premade teams and solo survivors due to solo survivors having no means of communication.

The game has different levels of perks but due to only tiny differences, for example 1 second longer effect per level it does not do much for inexperienced players.

So there is one possibility for balancing gone, because again it is tough to balance it for all people.

But maybe they could give ranks different extra powers? It kind of breaks a bit with basic rules of ranks only showing skill without considering extra perks or anything, but it would at least be a possibility to address skill group balancing more separately.

Now this would most likely deal with balancing ranks.

Now let's get back to the keys because these are balancing issues between premade and solo.

In that regard it is very difficult to balance it for both. But I agree that an extra interaction time (people called it "Animation" which is technically not correct) could be useful for balance. And maybe force around 3 seconds time that is needed to open the hatch before endgame and during endgame, after the killer closed the hatch they should maybe still open instantly.

But yea it is tough to balance. Everything in the game is tough to balance.

Different ranks, solo or random, and then the asynchronous nature of the game itself.

The devs aren't stupid. I really dislike how people are constantly piss on them on these threads like "Oh it's so easy to balance the entire game just nerf/buff feature X"... Like "its so easy to balance games, here hold my beer".

Let me tell you guys, even balancing simple games like counter strike or MOBAs is not easy. It is difficult. And then imagine a game like DbD. I can assure you the devs are having sleepless nights over this.

What makes it worse is that simultaneously people are saying for example: "BUFF HEX RUIN!". While others at the same time say "NERF HEX RUIN!".

    Again problems with different ranks.

Beginner ranks play the game completely different than experienced players...

Like in every game of course but in DbD the difference is tremendous.

So yea. I don't have a perfect solution myself.

But one last thing for your understanding about why sometimes with new killers/survivors the balance is off.

These days in Game Design we introduce new characters a bit stronger because it is easier to nerf than to buff.

It saves time and reduces many risks.

For example if a character is too strong but the mechanics are good all it needs is to adjust the numbers a bit.

But if it is too weak maybe the mechanics and many things around the character are just dysfunctional. Then tweaking numbers is not enough. Worst case an entire remake needs to be done.

So yea... Balancing DbD is a heavier task than it seems.

I am all for DC penalties against the crybabies who DC on first down, but do you realize that they will just let themselves die on first hook instead? The only people who are going to be getting bans are people DCing for a legitimate reason.

The other day a Nurse got stuck in a rock and she couldn't teleport out. So I guess someone like that gets a ban. Oh, by the way, if your game decides to crash on the loading screen, guess what? DC ban. What if my teammate decides to body block me against a corner I just completed a totem against? Whelp, guess I either sit here or face a temporary ban.

Please disable this feature until it can be properly implemented without punishing innocent players.

You're low rank, people here are talking about people that are good. Of course at low rank you're going to be teamed up with potatoes. Get to the higher ranks and watch the killer get bullied or better yet play as killer into the high ranks then come back and talk to us...

Oh wow. Sorry that I interrupted the narcissist meeting.

There are more players at the lower ranks than the higher ranks and they too paid the same money for the game.

We also deserve to have fun and be considered if not even prioritised because we are the majority, when it comes to balance.

It is not all about you just because you are able to put countless hours into the game.

This is not League of Legends, mate. The high ranks of the game dont fill entire stadiums with people and generate loads of money for the devs during esport events. That's why the balance focus will never be on you. But on the majority of players.

The balance needs a rework and in best case it should be balanced for both ranks.

But the asynchronous gameplay nature leads of course to balancing issues. This is not an easy to balance game like Counter strike or Battlefield.

The task of creating a wholesome balance for all ranks is brutal, if not even impossible.

  • @theArashi said:

With his flick he was very fun because you trade weak early game to very skill based rage time. It still had plenty of counterplay but was fun.

Sadly BHVR sees people having fun and survivors not yet capable of countering the new killer as a bug that needs to be removed so now he have this. Weak version of billy with 30-40 second timer on a power that still DOESN'T HELP IN LOOPS.

I had fun before the nerf. Now... not so much.

The flick was a BUG from the beginning... They literally wrote so in the release notes of PTB...

  • Well I never hat the impression that killers are weak. I am rank 15 and I am playing with a friend.

That means 2 premade and 2 random.

I would say we manage to escape every 3rd on some days every 4th game.

The random 2 people often just get hooked within the first few minutes and even when we save them they will be caught again quite quickly.

So basically we are 2vs1 on these matches and most of them we of course lose.

I don't know why there is no voice chat to begin with... Maybe to make the game creepier for people without friends?

When the 2 random survivors are somewhat cooperating despite the lack of communication though it is nice games.

I'd say we win half of these games.

But yea in general I maybe escape every 3rd or 4th game. And in most games when I do not escape, the entire team is butchered as well.

So I don't know about all that "survivors are overpowered" stuff... I think that might only be in high elo with 4 man premade.

For example when the killer has HEX RUIN it is so hard to escape with the 2 randoms... Maybe out of those we win every 6th game or so...

Until we find and defused the correct totem usually there is 1 to 2 dead players...

So HEX RUIN always either makes it a 2vs1 or 3vs1 or in some cases we are all sacrificed before even finding the totem and 0 generators are repaired...

I think they should just give us voice chat so they can balance the game better for all different modes.

But damn if they make killers even stronger and I will only escape one in ten games or something I will stop playing the game.

  • It just never stops, doesn't it.

People who do not read patch and release notes complaining about stuff in an ignorant way.

PTB literally means Public TEST build.

It is common in every game that has a PTB server, that everything you see there is still able to change. And often it changes radically.

It was a bug to begin with and it was noted so in the initial PTB release. It was transparent and clear that it will change.

Sometimes to fix a bug it is helpful to collect more bug reports under real circumstances.

All your complaining can be broken down to you guys not being able to read and your ignorance towards game design patterns.

Aside from this bug people like you always complain with every damn change there is that did not work in favour of that one character you like and I experience it in EVERY competitive game. It doesn't matter to you if nerfs are justified. It doesn't matter to you if win rates are getting out of hand and the nerf is needed. People like you don't give a ######### about the game. You only want to nourish your narcissism.

That things are released stronger rather than weaker already got explained to you by somebody else, but again you only read what you want to read to not disturb your premature childish narcissistic rage.

So again: In most competitive games these days things get released stronger rather than weaker, because it is easier this way and takes less man hours to fix and is therefore faster and beneficial towards everybody. It is not about grabbing money.

That it is especially hard to balance things in DbD should not be a surprise to you vegetables, because it is asynchronous.

And no I am not "white knighting" the devs.

I am just giving you facts and telling you that you behave like little ignorant children and that it annoys me!
