No, they were fair. Who ever had the better timing won these stand-offs.
These stand-offs only happened in the first place because survivors stopped using the pallets for what they were meant for and started using them to farm points with and grief the killer. They were not meant to wait at a pallet for the killer to close the distance before attempting to drop it and land a stun; pallets were meant to be when the killer had already closed the distance in the chase, the pallet would force the killer to break it or go around, using up time which the survivor then had to lose the killer.
Killers complained about this abuse of the pallets, which the devs ignored and survivors responded with 'git gud' and 'just adapt'. Killers did adapt: we would bait a pallet drop to miss with the hokey-cokey. Survivors would often disconnect for missing repeatedly and they wanted that to stop. Then killers started lunging through pallets and survivors carpet-bombed the Steam forum with salt.
So killers had adapted, which is what survivors told them to do. It's a classic dialectic with a pendulum swinging one way and then back to the other. Survivors didn't adapt though, even though they had the clear option at the time of going back to using pallets as before. They instead would make sure that not an hour went by without a complaint thread about killers hitting them through pallets being made.
That led to pallets being made essentially foolproof in patch 1.1.1 on August 30th 2016. Funny how the devs never do killers favours like this.
trust me they were not fair in any way the amount of times i got killed by those pallets was incredible even when dropped it early, pallets now are fairer , you can still get hit trough it but you cant mindlesly swing at them and get a hit

make the green perk of each survivor passive, thats all we need

Well I did give you the patch number, it wouldn't have taken long to see for yourself. The forum software currently freaks out when I try including a link.
The relevant changes were:
- Adjusted pallet overlap with a slasher (on drop down) to teleport the slasher away from survivor instead of the same side
- Adjusted pallet stun to apply at the beginning of the pallet drop instead of the end
This also included two unlisted changes, what was dubbed 'the pallet-vacuum' has now been removed due to survivors no longer having the animation for transitioning them to the other side of the pallet as they drop it, but the increased stun-range of the pallet remains. Prior to this patch, pallet did not stun from round corners, but afterwards the range was clearly equivalent to the range of killers basic melee.
That made sense because the whole reason these changes to pallets happened is because survivors were complaining about killers lunging through pallets and hitting them before the pallet had finished dropping. It was also completely unfair given the context of why killers had developed this strategy.
this is no uber buff imo, pallets back then were more like a free hit most times

my proudest moment was when i got the hatch against a scratched mirror myers in the game map

They'd be punished by point reduction and Survivors getting gens done. They should know that. But if they don't then that's a learning experience. They will learn it eventually, and figure it out.
Sometimes killer's just don't know what to do (New players), and sometimes they just want one particular person to die (when you're looped for 4 gens, I can understand wanting to secure a kill, even at my own detriment).
well the anti-camp perk becomes the camp perk in those situations, funny right?

This would be reasonable if also the uber-buffs to pallets from patch 1.1.1 were also completely reverted.
what uber buffs?
-
bubbas good if you facecamp enough

how do i not know about this? which gestures are they?

I'll keep everything you just said in mind the next time someone questions me on my sincere belief that survivors have become worse at the game and this explains virtually all of the more recent concerns they've generated concerning balance.

Erm no, if the killer can't rule out counters then they must assume the worst-case counter is being used: they're all too close to risk leaving the hook. It's a free-rescue and the killer won't find anyone far from the hook, because they're likely all at the hook.
Considering survivors have persistently favoured a playstyle based on making chases longer rather than making a serious effort to hide, the only strategic reason for survivors to hide their auras is if it is the final-hook so no rescue can be attempted. That's the time to not be giving the killer a new target to head straight for.
Hiding their aura when it is possible for a rescue on phase 1 or 2 of the hook is only an optimal decision if they are SWF and it's the weakest player who knows one of the stronger players will stay visible to attract the killer, or they're solo and playing selfishly.
i hide in lockers all the time and i see many ppl doing the same , nobody wants the killer to chase someone straight after a hook or know which gens are being worked on , stop with the excuses for camping , an unhook is always free unless you camp
-
i think the just kind of find em in like trials , chests or on the floor lol

Well, if they were hiding their auras, then the killer would think that they were all close to them.
If the killer was camping though then he's already got BBQ, then he's losing points for staying near the hook, as well as letting survivors complete objectives... so... yeah...
well knowing how many counters it has they should know better than to camp dont you think? cause there really is no point in it if a gen is 40m close
-
if only stealth was viable, the clothes werent pastel bright pink and survivors didnt make whale noises even when just breathing i bet thered be more stealth
-
would it really make a difference seeing how useless most survivor pink stuff is after the ever so "needed" nerfs?
-
i still see a ton of ppl who camp with bbq with no one near, that
anti-camping excuse is invalid in my book

@Mister_xD said:
is it the killers lack of skill that activates NOED or the survivors lack of attention payed to totems during the trial?
mainly killers skill imo

Disabling them is also supposed to be risky. Hiding them makes it high-risk, high-reward for both sides, as opposed to high-risk, high-reward for killers and low-risk, high-reward for survivors.
how is it risky for survivors to cleanse them tho? i mean , i see no risks in getting rid of hexes unless theres haunted grounds
-
i really , really hate the totem spots they are waaay too hidden for a perk thats supposed to be risky to use imo
-
i think that just putting back the pallet stun/interrupt while blinking would be pretty decent of a nerf , not legion level but adds a bit of counterplay
-
youll get it eventually, get bt just in case
-
i made a similar post but not to this extent lol i cant be bothered , i know ppl wont admit camping is too good most of the times

@CoffengMin I know the top had red and I was okay with that. I'm not okay with them making all of her hair red though. If you compare her default hair to her p3 hair now though, her p3 hair is darker.
still id rather it have some blood, like og hair or pre-freddy-rework hair
-
they always have and id like them to be more unique as much as you but they wont do anything about it anyways
-
id love that, but id rather buffing wake ups numbers to be like 60% or more, i already run it a lot and id like it to be useful at any endgame,(hatch closed endgame and normal eg)

It would be a good counter to NOED that so many people complain about. But keep in mind it would be an ultra rare offering like an ebony mori so it's not something a survivor could run every game.
And unlike some I don't consider insta-heals the equivlant of an ebony mori. Insta-heals are more the equivalent of iridescent heads or anything that causes the exposed status effect. Right now survivors don't really have anything that is the equal to an ebony mori. An ultra rare offering that greatly increases the chances of a winning. Killers have them but survivors don't.
my toughts exactly, besides theyd be personal so, all 4 would have to use it to avoid the effects,so all swf could do is have like 2 imposible to instadown,2 without hexes or whatever combo i doubt thatd be op unless youre playing instadown killers or only hexes

I was confused in my original comment. I absolutely hated how the old hair looked, it just looks like she dyed her hair red. The one we have now was the way it always was before the hair update and it looks much better. The bloody heads of all the Survivors have always been just their face, not their hair. I hope they don't revert it. The reason why it was changed to begin with was because people complained there was too much red.
actually her og p3 hair had a lot of red on the top, it looked like they smashed her head with a hammer and i liked to have blood on the hair now it barely looks like the original or the one we had before this

@CoffengMin hence why Tenacity paired with No Mither is pure gold. Unless they’re running Deerstalker they’ll have a hell of a time finding you because there’s no blood trail.
except ... no mithers get hooked straight away in my experience

When I got this game, my first ten games as survivor ended in 4Ks. Then, I played killer for the first time. I was a nurse and I didn't know you can hold the blink to go farther, so I never blinked, thinking it was worthless... I got a 4K.
Killers are beyond overpowered. Even now, I get a 4K almost every game. I can't imagine why anyone would want to nerf survivors even more than this.
ohhh, do you play on ps4 by chance? cuz i once got 4kd by a non-blinking nurse, i wasnt a noob either and im very ashamed of both me and my team to this day

@CoffengMin True. No Mither is basically "suicide mode" in most cases but some perks actually worked out a few times for me. Unbreakable is obviously decent albeit not a complete counter against killers who intend to slug all game due to its one time use but tenacity is really strong against slugging as you can recover AND (quickly) crawl to an area where it's worth getting up as you typically get slugged in dead zones. It helps you get to a place where you can't immediately get slugged again.
Personally (but that's just me) I think it's actually kind of fun to get slugged with tenacity because that perk makes crawling feel sort of fast even though you still move at a lousy 26.25% which is 1.05m/s. I wish the devs would buff tenacity at some point.
id like tenacity buffs too and i find it fun as well but its just not really worth it since even when i use it they find me very easily
-
for point 1 and 1 only, ive seen some bs even in those killers
-
@Yamaoka said:
You're referring to "slugging" which can be countered by numerous perks actively or passively.
- unbreakable: Allows you to recover 33% faster and get up "without help" once per trial
- tenacity: allows you to crawl 50% faster AND recover at the same time allowing you to crawl towards a team mate WHILE recovering making slugging extremely difficult if not even useless as the killer will have no idea where you went unless they run deerstalker
- no mither: allows you to get up infinitely (but allows any killer to instadown you)
- buckle up: allows team mates to see your recovery status/progress AND if someone helps you get up you AND the person who healed you are able to see the killer's aura for up to 6 seconds allowing both of you to avoid him making it extremely difficult for the killer to slug one of you again - at least right away.
tbf these counters are pretty bad, only unbreakable works well and its 1 time use, no mither will get you killed most times
-
sometimes you just get outplayed, if theyre better theyre better, also you can just camp
-
hell no downing survivors without ever hiting them is not the way to go and imo shes fine unless youre bad at mindgaming loops or whatever because stealth is removed when sick

This thread was actually made before his release.
ik but some posts are pretty recent

feng is almost always excluded lmao

in b4 ppl tell you its a bad idea
-
im not completely against it but... idk if i need any more god tier nurses in my games tbh
-
the only rule i follow is: go for the head on stun, always, even if it kills you, unless the killer was an ass , then theres no posibility for a maybe ez hit from me
-
uhhh as far as i know theres only 1 post about freddy being op so idk what you guys are even talking about

what? his perks were there for a long time, you mean his new powers?
