The event hasn't started yet for another half hour or so I think. Just checked and Hallowed Blight collection doesn't release till 24th on the roadmap.

    Oh. Gotcha. Unfortunate.

  • Only if they rework made for this, adrenline, and windows of oppertunity.

Game is 100% right now in survivors favor and yall still want more.

  • @Skitten56 said:

Now that face camping is no longer a thing, I think they should re-add hook grabs as a mechanic. They created some fun strategic scenarios for killers and survivors to have to work around. Maybe reduce the time to self-unhook with the anti-face camping mechanic to compensate so killers can't as easily try to force a trade with it.

Problem is if they buff killer overrall in anyway then survivor players would lose their mind.

  • The game puts so many handicaps and training wheels on survivor and yall still ask for more nerfs lol

That right there is why no one so far has bothered to seriously address the points you made. True, every now and again people bring up how *certain situations* - usually driven by specific builds, maps, or individual perks - lead to egc being a frustrating lose-lose kinda situation for the killer (e.g. someone using Deli, or buckle up ftp) and there are some discussions about which mechanics/perks ought to be disabled in egc. You don't really name anything specific, gate spawns aside, that is specific enough to address. As for the gate spawns: That's rng. They can be in viewing distance for the killer so they can actually camp gates or they can be on opposite sides of the map. You win some you lose some.

As for the hours: I bring those up because you brought them up. A frame of reference, if you will. To put your 170 hours into perspective. And, with all due respect, I think you have a bit of a dunning kruger effect going on. Individual perks and add-ons, knowing map layouts and tiles and the spawns of resources (for killer mostly pallets tho) is a pretty fundamental knowledge in order to even be able to actually play this game. Idk how long it takes you to memorise and practise to recognise that kinda stuff and put knowledge into practise but given the sheer amount of stuff I'm pretty sure few people can do it in under 300 hrs of playtime (assuming they don't treat it like college and sit down and study before they even play the game). And that's not even touching on killer specific techs and quirks, and checkspots.

But yes, to play dbd casually you don't need much knowledge. And you will inevitably pick up on stuff as you play - the rate depends on how you play and how much you care. But the skill ceiling is higher than it seems at first.

That's a whole lot of words just to deflect more.

    ok

there's a reason you never get better and think endgame is unhealthy

And yet you know SO much about the game but rather talk in circles rather than form an argument lol

it indicates that you've taken time to understand and learn the game's mechanics before you start complaining and begging for the devs to hold your hand

LOL You are giving this game WAY more credit than it desrves. There is no complexity to this game compared to others I have played. Though I can see why you might think that if you dont play a lot (of video games) or this is the only game you have played.

Not to sound mean or anything but you're sure you didn't at least forget a zero at the end there?

In all seriousness though: I think the majority of people agrees that you lose your newbie status somewhere between 300 and 600 hours, depending on how you play the game. Your average joe sits at a level that most people reach within anything from 1k to 4k hours. - With more than 4k hours you'll have played this game so much that it's pretty much impossible to still be only average (personal opinion and I know some people disagree - and granted, someone who played this game 24/7 several years ago and only recently got back into it might be an exception - but I'm talking about the bulk here).

As far as egc is concerned: the only reason there is egc is so that matches don't last indefinitely. That's also why a killer can open the gates.

It makes more sense then to just end the game the moment the last gen is opened and just play a cutscene of them "running away" if it's there to keep the game from being held hostage. Even though survivors could just hide the whole match and hold it hostage indefinitely that way. But then again this is BHVR

  • @Gandor said:

    Absolutely horrible idea.

    1, pentimento exists

2, you are padding kill rate for no good reason. If killer got screwed up by matchmaking, it's better he gets 4-outed so that his MMR quickly normalizes

3, this is definition of a clutch. Killer lost the game, but you want to hand him free kill regardless

4, kill rate is still above 50%. Why do you ask to buff killers? SoloQ needs help much more

Based on WHAT? Stats from nearly a year ago? Or the stat websites that grasp at Straws?

What does hours have to do with anything? 300 hours? In a game where the skill ceiling is high enough to touch? I hate to break it to you guys but this isn't Dota, Street Fighter or any game that requires a level of that kind of dedication to be "good" at. Not trying to be rude or mean either but seriously there is only so much you can do when the entire game is foucsed on how you move and mind games come down to a handful of moves.

But no idea what any of this has to do with what points I made? If it's "well you just don't understand the game" well then why hasn't anyone refuted anything I brought up?

  • @Wowie said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3561624#Comment_3561624

no and also i don't want to keep talking to you

you're boring and clearly a fresh install trying to change the mechanics of a game you don't understand

I have 170 hours but okay. You don't want to talk because you have no argument besides deflecting. So that is a mutual feeling.

  • @Wowie said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3561618#Comment_3561618

well if you've hit endgame and more than 2-3 survivors are still alive then that's a you problem

you played badly and now they've won, unless you play efficiently and better than you did in the match

there's nothing more to it and there's nothing bhvr can change to raise your own skill level

    practice is a magic word

Then what's even the point of end game at all? If that is how it's supposed to be (which its obviously not, its meant to be a clutch moment for both sides) then just cut out the middle man and remove it entirely. Game ends when the last gen is fixed. "Just get gud" is such a lazy deflection of parts of the game that are obviously unbalanced. Remember when people used that same type of thinking for Spirit when she was busted? "Just listen for her thing bro, Just look at her glass shimmering". Such a lazy argument.

  • Most of the advantage is with survivors.

    Survivor Advantages:

    The gates open extremely quickly

Adrenline makes them move fast as hell which is stronger than any killer end game perk

Typically 50% guessing game for the Killer to see which gate they are at.

Still get a speed boost if hit so hitting a survivor near a gate is helping them with 0 counter play

Are able to crawl through the gate

The only advantage killer has is if they happened to bring any perks.

    Exit timer is extremely generous

I mean feel free to correct me and tell me how you counter play any of this when they have so much baseline in end game and killer has nothing.

  • @Wowie said:

    just ignore it man

    it really doesn't matter much

End game is unbalanced anyhow so it needs a look either way.

Please it's literally autopilot for killer these days.

All of the hand-holding; too many killers are used to pubstomping and then cry when they go against good SWFs.

    LOL. Lets keep going then.

    • Several maps have gens that are not worth the trouble by killers so they are given to you
    • Several loops are infinite
    • Pallets are hardly a "resource" when theres damn near an infinite amount of them
    • You can escape crawling
    • Can flashlight through walls
    • Can repair gens so fast that one person can get a gen up in less than a min
    • The ability to push hooks away (neither side should be able to influence it)

The only thing you are missing is a I win button if you are losing. For a side where it comes down to how well can you run in a circle and hold W.

  • Camping isn't that much of a loss. It's a bad trade most of the time if the survivors just do gens and go at the last moment.

Also your anology is bad. You might be looking for something along the lines of "Surivors want us to be Dungeon Masters or a bot"

Which is why I think they should add Matchmaking vs Bot Killer. Most of the player base of survivors doesnt seem to wanna play against a human.

  • Survivors need some serious nerfs before yall take more away from killers.

You have 3 perks that basically are so good that you have litterally no reason to take any other. And two others that are also a gimmie.

Repair tools allow you to fix a generator at light speed.

Items in general never seem to run out.

There's a ton more I can add. The game is definitely tipped in favor of survivors right now.

And you want to nerf a niche build lol

  • 169 but sure you can live in your fantasy world survivor main

Nope.. it most definitely doesn’t happen to me lol.

When I face the wall, I don’t get blinded. I run shadowborn and STILL don’t allow angles where I can. Y’all must be doing something wrong. Without providing clips of these “exploitation” beam saves, nobody can help you. But beams and angles are working just fine.

I don't think you play killer or the game at all

  • @darktitan1520 said:

The fact that I can break LOS from a huntress via wall or just around a corner or behind a rock, and she can STILL hit me with a hatchet is absolutely absurd. If I tried to throw a hatchet at someone hiding behind a rock, and they were crouching and I couldn't see any part of them, my hatchet would miss and go over their head. But oh no, not Huntress. She can hit you without even trying. I know it has something to do with survivor hitboxes being behind them while they're running, but why is that even a thing? Why can't we just get survivor hitboxes that actually match where our character is in REAL TIME???

This is offset by the fact that

    A. You have to go out of your way to learn how the hitboxes work and nothing in the game teaches you about that.

    B. Knowing what walls you can do this at.

    C. Its very difficult to do.

    D. Easily fixed by you crouching. Crouch more against huntress.

Huntress is fine. You are salty because you got got.

Ok, and I’m literally telling you you’re obviously missing something. Properly facing the wall completely prevents you from getting blinded, unless YOU are offering an angle. I don’t know how much more I can break that down.

Nah I am with the other guy. I had plenty of times where my face is jammed through a wall where they definitely shouldn't be able to flash me but still were. Problem is they partially are able to clip themselves through and still hit you or hit you at a corner of your eye. Either way the collision in these situations are not working. I am willing to bet it does happen to you but you are willing to deny it because you exploit it as a survivor or you don't bother to remember.

Either way shoving my head in a wall isn't good counter play when you don't always down a survivor near a wall and its not hard for them to take you away from one.

I’ve played this game for years. I didn’t start genuinely grinding until recently - I’m by no means a strong player, plenty of skills/strengths to build.

But all I’ve learned is that this is impossible with dbd. I don’t have friends to play with and I’ve had little luck finding any, but I also like to play solo.

Either way, this game clearly has insanely low capacity to ensure that solo players can have a positive experience or equal opportunity to succeed compared to SWF’s.

tunnelling, camping, hex perks, strong abilities that alter match conditions…I am always let down by the fact that I can’t communicate with teammates and by the fact that fellow survivors don’t know how to play around those various challenges.

Of course camping, tunnelling etc. can be worked against…but none of that matters if the other survivors stand around not knowing what to do, and none of us have enough opportunity to really improve - our games are consistently the same and so many players just don’t learn.

Literally what is the point? Why continue to play hard in games when the clear issues never get addressed and the devs make zero effort towards making the game viable for solo players?

this new anti camp attempt may slow the process down for killers, but will it change anything? How do I know other players will play around that any better?

I don't know what else they can do to make the game easier for you. I get you are new but maybe look up a few guides. The game is extremely easy as survivor once you have it figured out. They already made SO MANY changes to the game to make things easier for survivors. Part of the problem is perks and you won't do a lot better till you have the "meta" ones.

But on a general basis you already have the following that helps survivors tremendously.

    - Items that never run out

    • Repair kits HALF the time it takes to repair a generator which is insane.
    • Several maps with infinite loops
    • Invincible when off the hook and run so fast that it would make sonic the hedgehog jealous
    • Limitless Pallets and can go from Pallet to Pallet
    • Some maps where generators are so hard to defend that most killers straight up give them up
    • Healing is extremely fast

I mean honestly once you have the busted perks and items you will be winning so many games you will get bored of it.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Can not stand Blights they’ve been busted for 3 years

I mean they add new handicaps to survivors every patch so at least you are gauranteed a win against every other killer.

  • Won't be having that attitude when a lot of the killer players quit and you have to wait forever in the queue for a dead game lol

  • @Gandor said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3556954#Comment_3556954

So a group with coms is next to impossible to beat

No it's not impossible. No matter which killer you pick.

If you have to wait longer to play with your friends then so be it

Yes because that would not concern you. But suppose survivors saw which killer they are going to face - suddenly it's not going to "so be it".

Even some really good killers can't beat a half way decent SFW group

    See video I posted above.

Its tiring when you are forced to play super sweaty when you play against groups who think they are gonna enter a pro league or something

This looks like you just lost your match and you don't like it. So you want easy mode. But the thing is, that kill rate is for a long time already above 50%. Especially in lower MMR brackets. This is multiplayer game - every time you win, someone else lost. You already win more then 50% by playing killers (talking individual share of vs each specific survivor) and you still ask for even more

No it's not impossible. No matter which killer you pick. See video I posted above.

It litterally is. Like your source is a person whos job is to play this game all day everyday who asked other people who play this game all day everyday. I am talking about average people. Not people who live and breathe the game. SFW has an overt EXTREME advantage when the game was never designed with you not having coms. If they are playing against someone who plays the game for 8 hours a day, every single day, then yeah they are gonna deal with SFW better because they know the game to an absurd degree which pretty much any normal person who plays the game doesn't. All that video proves is "can the top players play with an arbitrariy rule and still win? Yup!". Wow what a revelation! People who are extremely good at the game are in fact extremely good at the game! So if they can do it then that means you should be able to! Anyone whos played a video game in their life knows anything at a top level doesn't apply at lower levels. Entire metas are different in some cases.

This looks like you just lost your match and you don't like it. So you want easy mode. But the thing is, that kill rate is for a long time already above 50%.

You realize 50% is not not a good kill rate in a game where you have to kill 4 people right? Which correct me I am wrong, is not the the entended range they want. That doesn't translate to "two survivors escape each match". I don't think its an unreasonable request. Hell you can give extra XP or bloodpoints. Its clear people want to force this game to be competetive so might be better off just adding a competetive mode on the other hand. But it's clear you play exclusively survivor who looks at satistics on a website that is making a best guess. SFW is busted in a game that already bends over backwards constantly for the other side who explode the fourms because the game is even for a change.

  • I am not understanding what that has to do with SFW?
