@lunaticlifter Saying "just hide" for MYC or haunted grounds is the same as saying "just chase someone else", same logic, not even gonna discuss that....

It is an anti tunneling perk, a ONE TIME use anti tunneling perk (unlike MYC). Maybe if killers let survivors use it at the start/middle of the game then they wont have to worry about it during the end game. It doesnt grant invulnerability at all, it would if the skill check was guaranteed, but it's not. Yeah u can say "most people can hit it" but there's times they dont, and you will never realise because u cant see it.

It rarely happens if you don't tunnel. I'm not saying it cant, it's happened to me, but not enough to consider it OP or an issue. If you see the player practically begging you to chase him/down him, then yes, just slug them, or ignore them, or like I said, do something else. Prevent the other survivors from completing the gens.. I mean, that's the whole point of the match..

I will tunnel and camp that person out if i get punished without a legit reason. Also in my all survivor games i missed the new DS skillcheck total of like 4-6 times. It's VERY easy to hit lol

If you're already far enough away then DS doesn't bother you to begin with, why would it need to be changed?

And no, this change would actually hurt large TR killers (TR Doc, for example, and Doc is the last killer to need disadvantages compared to others).

And the survivors who want DS to be an issue for you (aka those you should just slug), would just stay in your TR, not much has changed).

Additionally it would make tunneling killers with map pressure a lot worse. We've all faced a Billy who comes back from crossmap to tunnel you. The Wraith who masks his TR with cloak. The Spirit who moves away and then just phases back.

DS is fine as it is. It's only an issue if the killer plays into the survivors' hands, or if they're absolutely demolishing a survivor team (at which point DS wouldn't be much of an issue anyway).

You're digging for a change to a perk that doesn't need changing, and it's actually a bad change that just makes weaker killers even weaker, and stronger killers stronger.

It sounds like you are survivor main man. I'm currently playing more survivor than killer and i understand strenght of the DS. It's in my opinion the strongest survivor perk right now. It's actually free escape at the end game if killer didn't tunnel earlier of the game lol..

How can people abuse it though? If they run into you like an idiot, you down them and go do whatever you were already doing. Gen patrol, chase, hook the other guy you just downed.

The only time "abusing" works is if you, as the killer, fall for it. I see people saying slugging is bad but it's actually a powerful tool because the person on the floor can't do anything. Then another person needs to go ahead and pick them up, which takes some time, too. They hurt themselves more than they hurt you. If they still haven't been picked up a few seconds later, their DS is over and you can hook them easily, no chase needed.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/847921#Comment_847921

This 100%. You shouldn't be eyeballing the hooked guy, you should already be chasing someone else. If you aren't chasing someone else by the time that guy got unhooked, that DS isn't the only problem you're having, you're likely already losing the game.

If a survivor thinks they're smart stuff and unhook behind you... chase the rescuer? Maybe hit the guy who just got rescued so they can't do anything, but leave them, chase that other guy. DS avoided, 3 people off gens, pressure is high.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/847985#Comment_847985

If you can't find anyone else to chase, DS isn't the problem, it's you not being able to find targets that's the issue. If you have trouble finding people, there's a bunch of perks or even add-ons for some killers to help you with that, use them.

So you wouldn't have issues making DS more anti tunnel perk. Keep the 60 seconds, but if i move at least 32 meters away (which is average terror radius distance), then the timer should move much faster and you get 30 second immunity. This way good killers who don't tunnel wouldn't get punished and DS would be less of a crutch. Since now it's anti tunnel perk and also a crutch.

If i get hit by a DS without actually tunneling nor camping. Then i will tunnel that person out. That's how i do abaut it

  • I love how people are saying "just slug them" Killers time is more valuable, if he needs to slug every survivor who recently had been unhooked could mean losing the game. Every second you spent guarding the slugged person, could be 3 seconds on the generators. Sure you can leave and patrol gens, which is risking losing that hook you deserved and maybe not even finding next survivor

You don't even need to camp nor tunnel to find same survivor again, most of the time they just go repairing same generator close to you, becouse they know if you touch them, you get punished.

One way to make DS more fair would be keep the 60 seconds, but if killer goes like 32 meters away, the timer goes with double speed. So you have 30 second immunity if killer stays far away.

  • I feel like DS is currently too strong. Sure it does anti tunnel purpose, but it does A LOT more than that also. I've had so many situations where unhooked survivor messed up multiple times and i down them AGAIN without any tunneling, nor camping. At that point DS is just A CRUTCH.

I've had many situations where i had good snowball going, multiple survivors injured and all of them same side of the map, multiple hooks. Then DS starts popping and it can turn the game araund entirely. If one perk alone can do such a thing it's definitely too strong.

I run DS myself in my survivor games and i honestly think it could be the strongest survivor perk right now. These "nerfs" they did are nothing, since they massively buffed other aspects of DS

I will gladly join this custom match as survivor and be a part of running her around the map for minutes. I was already able to run old basekit nurse for quite long time, new is a joke to me. I don't even have to think, 75% is just holding W.

Exactly. She has now LESS map mobility than normal m1 killer without addons. All you need to do now is run before she gets close enough, juke, run again. And you end up wasting TONS of her time. Funny thing is that if you have no idea how to juke the nurse, simple counter is just to run forward and it will take +30 seconds before she actually downs you lmao

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/104746/the-nurse-is-being-ignored

She wasn't that hard to control when using 5 blinks add on, even if you were new at this game.

How is she unfun and uncomfortable to play as when she still function the same? All you have to do now is be more patient with your blinks if you are always replying on using multiple blinks.

She still function the same as ever, so your reasoning for complaining about her makes no sense. Just because she is hard to use, doesn't mean she is unfun. It means you are just not good at using her unlike other players. Why don't you take your time and properly learn her instead of always wanting to constantly blink all the time?

Why should the nurse be able to move that fast when she is capable of ignoring all defences against suriviors? This isn't a complaint, it is just you wanting her to be like how you want her to play as.

Moreover, why would the devs monitor her still? There's plenty of gameplay out there to show the new nurse is srill capable of easily getting 3k all games if you know how to use her.

Are you good with nurse? Would you like to show me good good she still is? add me on steam and try to catch me with your nurse. I will prove you wrong

  • My killer queques are actually faster than survivor ones. But i usually study meanwhile or listen music etc

  • I've played 4- man SWF many times and most of the time it's ridiculously easy. The information you get is insane and time management as well. Most of the games ended with 3-4 man escapes. I feel like something should be done since they already nerfed strongest killer nurse and now spirit. There will be no killers to have any moderate threat to optimal SWF groups. I've noticed increased queque times and it will end up like in 2016 when SWF survivors simply couldn't find matches even they waited +45 minutes

  • Trust me you need to play killer if you think "they took away most of the pallets" I've still counted +20 pallets on certain maps. There are more than enough. I try to play both sides equally and killer is usually far more stressfull. Only thing that pisses me off as a survivor are OTHER survivors when they DC on first down and therefore make it very, very hard for remaining survivors. But i recommend for you to play killer at least to rank 8 ish to see it's not so green other side of the fence.

  • @Peanits said:

To say that nobody asked for changes is objectively untrue. It doesn't take much searching to find a whole trove of videos, threads, and comments about The Spirit. I think you're missing the point of the argument, it's very rarely about how powerful she is, it's about not being fun to play against. You cannot tell someone that they're having fun when they're not, that's not up to you to decide.

If you want to argue that a video game shouldn't be fun to play, I'm not sure what to say at that point.

This is true i guess. But you understand that survivors generally dislike any feature that is moderately threatening to them? You are now nerfing 2 killers that were most threat for pallet loop meta. The next thing will be complains abaut billy, simply becouse he doesn't have many weaknesses, but he surely can be looped.

Cannot say it will be very fun to play against top tier survivors, when there are no top tier killers left. It's been proven again and again that most killers do not have enough map pressure AND chase potential against survivors who play optimally

  • Add me on steam and try to catch me with new nurse in KYF mode. I will change your mind. She is worthless without addons and even with them kinda meh.

  • Her base power got actually nerfed by 50% in terms of how much distance you can cover. If you do not run addons now with her, survivor can run straight line and it will take ridiculous amaunt of time to actually catch the survivor.

Yes, if you don't know what you are doing best thing is just to run straight line and this will give you decent counter to waste her time.

  • There are more mind games involved with spirit games than they are with ordinary m1 killers. Most loops are badly designed when you can see the killer at all time, there is no mind game. Just judge the distance correctly how many loops you can do. If Spirit got nerfed you need to rework most loops as well and make pallets weaker

  • I don't think they have guts to nerf spirit at least not anytime soon. If they do, it will start to effect high rank swf survivors negatively. We go back in time when survivors couldn't find matches in infinite lobby

since she is pretty much only thing to stand a chance against GOOD survivors. I can kill potato survivors with perkless wraith, but killing good survivors is another thing

  • The thing is that devs are unlikely to buff every killer to the level what you need to compete with sweaty SWF groups. So they need to leave at least 1-2 high level killers, otherwise we go back in time when high rank survivors simply won't find matches. It's not fun playing game what is already lost before it even started.

I think marth88 proved how easy survivor really is if you just repair gens optimally. They stomped majority of killers even without perks, and with perks and voice coms had average of 3,5+ survival rate. This is not balanced either

  • I would buff wraith by giving him faster base speed while cloaked, at least 3-5% maybe even more. Even this buff could allow him to have better map control and use his ability more in chase to close the distances. He would still have PLENTY of counterplay.

For trapper i would buff his traps overall. They should give survivors permanent debuff somehow. If survivor gets caught in trap he would suffer from decreased action speed, and slight movement speed nerf. This would allow trapper to benefit more from traps offensively, instead of just camping purposes defending the basement hook.

  • I personally hate playing with people like you. Do you think other people are excited to repair gens? I'm not going to be anyones gendrone. Most of the time they come harashing the killer to the same loop and get both of us killed. I would rather play with rank 20s who at least try to repair gens

If there is just one person who refuses to do their duty on gen progress it's very likely that all of the survivors will die.

  • People are saying that "killer failed becouse he didn't kill all 4 before gens got done"

No he didn't fail.. or are you saying you are getting 4kills EVERY round before 5 gens get completed?

The game is balanced araund 2 kills 2 survive, so on the average 2 survivors are "guaranteed" to get adrenaline. So statistically if killer manages to kill all 4 before 5 gens are completed it reguires survivors to fail

  • There are weaker survivor perks that need rework first. MoM was a perk that literally had no counterplay at all with weaker killers

  • How can you say it's double standard when survivor had option to hold your game hostage much, much longer than 4 minutes? only recently end game collapse changed that, which was nice quality of life change for killers.

Back in the old days i was forced to run whispers, becouse if i managed to kill all 3 survivors before hatch appearing, last survivor was unlikely to even attempt to repair gens and just hide until i EVENTUALLY found him.

  • So you are saying that i'm allowed to exploit thanathophobia (makes skillchecks invisible sometimes) and also run legion double addons, which will reduce survivor action speed.. it's perfectly fine since it's devs mistake. But i have a feeling you think survivor is only allowed to run the broken perk

  • MoM is so far one of the most unskilled perks this game ever had. It rewards for failure and zero counterplay against it. Also abaut DS it's still meta perk and i still run it myself.. at least with the old ds you had to hit skillcheck to activate it

  • MoM rewards for failure and this perk cannot be countered at all. Even with hillbilly or huntress you don't have always option to use m2 attack. But i guess you already knew that it cannot be countered.. the rework is welcomed

  • Billy is most balanced killer of the game. Survivor main btw

  • Your recent legion changes will absolutely destroy him. I don't see any reason to even test him in PTB.

    Main issue would be this:

    • The movement speed of Feral Frenzy is significantly reduced. The Legion moves faster than base speed while in frenzy, but not as fast as they did before.

With these upcoming changes legion will move slower in frenzy and also you will lose all frenzy if you miss attack. This makes him extremely easy to pallet loop, becouse you now have to respect pallets like rank 20 killer and this gives survivor chance to make another loop.

  • Since when hillbilly came OP? last time i checked he obeys the rule of pallets like most of the killers. Survivor chooses if you drop the pallet or not.

  • Just drop the pallet?

  • I don't feel like playing killer, specially against SWF when survivors just got decisive like perks.. Maybe you "suck it up" and play killer yourself?

You are so bad at math. How on earth you manage to think that new selfcare will be 48 seconds? i truely hope this is trolling..

Oh my god, lets go back to this guy who said:

    @Wolf74
So 2 injured survivor side by side using SC will take 32 seconds and both are fully healed at the same time.

He's saying that two self care using survivors next to each other is 32 seconds of time for them to heal, added together, when he is actually wrong as he thinks self care heals at the same speed as normal healing (16 seconds on the new patch). When infact it's 24 seconds to self care on the new patch, so using HIS EXAMPLE it would be 24 seconds for each survivor, 24 x 2 = 48.

Good god, Self Care on new patch is 24 seconds, I'm not in any way shape or form saying it's 48 seconds, learn to read.

So why do you double 24 seconds TWICE?! if they are doing it INVIDUALLY, you Still do not seem to realise that lmao. Yes you are right it will take 48 seconds if the other person is WAITING for the other to heal.. jesus

  • In a way it's 48 seconds of two people not doing a generator, while they're both doing it at the same time, it is two people not doing gens, which i think is more important than actual length of game time.
