I'm going to clear this up for people who can't read well about what I said about Surveillance. I wasn't saying that you have to BOTH Overcharge and Surveillance. Both of them are useless if your facing rank 1-10 survivors. Now for Overcharge. As I said before: However, if your going against good survivors they'll be able to complete the skill check. And as for Surveillance, I probably should have brought a highlighter to say: I rarely use Surveillance. I probably should have been more clear in saying that you HAVE use Surveillance.
@Hillbilly420 said:
Overcharge and Surveillance are complete and utter #########. Do not listen to this man. Overcharge is complete and total garbage. Same with Surveillance. I plead with any random who is reading this thread: for the love of god do not use Overcharge or Surveillance. I was going to ignore this thread because it was bad but then I noticed this nonsense and I was like 'Whelp, I have to make a reply now and point out just how stupid the OP is."
Now I'm going to repeat myself again: "However, if your going against good survivors they'll be able to complete the skill check." The difference being if your going against rank 10-20 survivors then Overcharge is good because they haven't learned to hit the small skill checks yet. This list isn't FOR pro killers.
@Hillbilly420 said:
Problem with Overcharge: good Survivors can still hit the skillcheck and even if they fail it only regresses a gen by 5%. 5% is nothing. That sets them back about 3 seconds maybe. In case anyone is curious; same ######### applies to Thanatophobia. Both perks are garbage.The major difference between Thanatophobia and Overcharge is the gen automatically regresses 3%/4%/5% when you fail the skill check. As for Thanatophobia gives a repair speed penalty.
I still do recommend reading the rest of Hillbilly420's thread about using your chainsaw for those who have difficulty with using Hillbilly chainsaw.

The guy doesn't really know much about what he's talking about so I wouldn't bother.Well I'm still a rank 1 killer in both PC and Xbox and just getting started on PS4. Your right. I made this list because I felt bad going against killers who still didn't know how to properly use certain killers. Not for you.

Would you mind talking about LF?I was going to make another list for the other killers once I get some free time but I'll give you a couple of tips.
Leatherface is a basic killer. He finds survivors, chases them, hooks them and repeats. But Leatherface's chainsaw makes certain situations easier. If your chasing a survivor and there are no pallets, windows, lockers or obstructing objects nearby then use your chainsaw. Why lockers? Survivors can jump into lockers to prevent any damage you try do to them with the chainsaw while in the locker. Basically waiting out your chainsaw attack. Since they have no where to jump away from you they'll try to either juke you or get you to hit a wall. But if you practice this a couple of times you can make chases end pretty fast. Just remember to use the chainsaw add-ons that increase how fast you get the chainsaw ready.Leatherface is also good at preventing unhooking rushes. If you see that a group of survivors is about to try and unhook your prey, then keep your chainsaw rev'd to the max until they leave or try to unhook them. I never understood camping as a killer. It wastes your time so survivors can do gens and escape. But once the exit gates are opened and you have some one on a hook. Then you might as well confirm the kill. Again, I do not recommend camping unless confirming the last kill or survivor unhook rushes.
Going to Leatherface's add-ons the decrease charge time (Spark plug, Primmer Bulb and Carburetor tuning guide) and movement speed (Knife scratches and Beast marks) are the best ones to go with. The acceleration add-ons are good too. Survivors move at 4 m/s or 100% while sprinting. Leather face moves at 4.6 m/s or 115% without a survivor or other perks. While Leatherface is using his chainsaw, he moves at an average of 4.6 m/s or 115%. With Knife scratches he moves an average of 4.7 m/s or 117.5% while using his chainsaw. Beast marks makes him move on an average of 4.95 m/s or 123% while using a chainsaw. Using movement add-ons are a good way to keep up with survivors and mow them down. I'm not saying to use these every time but they are really good. Carburetor tuning guide especially. It's a green rare add-on.
Any set of perks can work on him. If you want more tips on him I recommend this video if your still learning Leatherface:

Its not that killers apprecciate the tips i do thanks .But most of the common killers in this forum at least know this. They complain not because they dont want to be better but it is because the killer has no actual power to stop the competent survivors unless they are nurse That the issue. Unfortunally
It's true that most killers on the forum should know a majority of this stuff, but I want to try and give tips to early rank killers so they can have a better time.
To those of you who you who read and learned something from this post rather than criticized, I hope was able to give you some tips that'll help in the future.

The major thing is the killer's ability. The fact that not_queen said: "Have a closer look." and Dave said: "We'd like to reveal more sooner but can't...It's watching." leads me to believe that the next killer is going to have some surveillance like ability. Their ability could be that the killer can place a camera like object either on the wall or on the ground so that any survivor that walks in front of it is reveled. The marks on the wall must be the ability. Much like the Hag, the next killer marks the wall and any one who walks in front of it has their aura reveled.I made a killer concept like this a long time ago. Where he could place eyeballs on the wall and any survivor that walked in front of the eyeball had their auras reveled. They might have made an ability similar to this.
@TheDarkLycan said:
But how would it work on maps like rotten fields where there is very few walls?That's a good point. Maybe the killer will have some other way of surveillance. Maybe an eye in the sky or a crow that can reveal survivors under them.
EDIT: But then again in maps like Lery's and the Game it wouldn't work. -

Much like the Hag, the next killer must mark the wall and survivors that step in front of it have their auras reveled.

not_queen said: "The answer is out there, have a closer look." and Dave said: We'd like to reveal more sooner but can't...It's watching." Both of these hints have to do with looking and I believe it has something to do with his ability/power. The next killer might have some power to see survivors with his ability. Without add-ons, Nightmare is the only killer who can see survivors with his ability (Doctor doesn't count because he can reveal where survivors are but not see them). And isn't it a coincidence that this painting is on Nightmare's map?
Plus look at the paintings to the left of the slashed painting. And if you watch the video and go frame by frame, you can see a slight phantom like arm as the screen fades. Butterflies, a raining village, closer look, Japanese room and ghosts? Sound familiar? To some of you, you'd immediately get the reference. I'm talking about the game: Fatal Frame.
Think about it. Japanese walls, butterflies and the fact the devs keep telling us to "take a closer look." For those of you who haven't played any Fatal Frame games(I've only played the 2nd), all of them take place in Japan and have to do with a camera. In order to avoid death, you have to use the camera and "take a closer look" to see the ghosts. I won't say anymore about the game to spoil it but it fits.
I so hope that it's a fatal frame killer. That'd be badass.
I've been looking into which Fatal Frame killer it would be and the Himuro family master sticks out from the first Fatal Frame game.
Here's his picture:
His lore is about how he killed a lot of people after he was driven insane. After he killed a lot of people he killed himself. The women in the picture might be his daughter. His daughter fell in love with a guy who would visit on occasion. But the thing was she could have any ties to the "physical" world so the killer had some people kill him. When she found out about this his daughter became depressed and because of that the ritual failed causing the dad to go insane.
However, I wonder if that counts as him being a licensed killer. Because they said no licensed killers. Hmmmmm.....

Sorry to burst your bubble "Not in the game files."Not to mention that cosmetics themed around a Chapter will release alongside the Chapter. So the cosmetic theory doesn't seem solid to me anyway.
Well actually there are game files on the Teacher. https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Teacher and https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/7twch0/the_teacher_removed_killer/.
His/her game files are: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight\DeadByDaylight\Content\UI\Icons\Powers
Then look at the picture called

Kuchisake-onna
Its based on some japanese folklore about a ghoulish woman who was mutilated by her husband with a glasgow smile who now randomly approaches victims and asks them if shes pretty, if they say yes she will give them a similar scar, if they say no she will kill them with sharp weapons.
She hides her scars and distorted mouth using a surgical mask. Feng has a cosmetic with a surgical mask and Trappers smile on it (I know shes chinese but still the only female asian in the game).
This makes sense! I was wondering about the mask and this has got to be the reason... Hope that it's the killer!
The thing is that in the video, the killer has heavy footsteps. They sound like boots or business shoes. So I don't think the killer is female. The women in the picture must be someone from his past/lore. However, after watching the Instagram video frame by frame, you can see a phantom like arm for a split second. So there's still a possibility that it might be her.

Edit: I want to conclude that after investigating with a partner and following the suggestions of the developers: @Not_queen and Mcote, thanks to them I have arrived by looking at different maps and comparing them as they were 6 months ago, the key where is the "easter" egg "is in the picture of Freddy's map, where we see scratches where 6 months ago they did not appear and just today a teaser with certain scratches appears on a sliding door, I have to risk and say that we could be before: Kuchisake-onna Mouth cutThe thing is that in the video, the killer has heavy footsteps. They sound like boots or business shoes. So I don't think the killer is female. The women in the picture must be someone from his past/lore. I'm still with the theory that the killer still might be her and she just has heavier steps. After watching the Instagram video frame by frame, you can see for a split second a phantom like arm. So I still believe that the killer might be her because of the phantom arm and picture but because in the video the killer has heavy footsteps, I'm not sure...

Now that I think about it. The Teacher was rumored to be added on August 2016 and since September is right next to August...

Insidious, Surveillance, Slippery Meat and Pharmacy. Insidious is bad in general because it promotes camping and as a killer main I never saw the point to it. Surveillance should be longer because 16 seconds is a little short when I can just use Overcharge to see if they'll do the gen right after I leave. Slippery Meat is only good for if you know your facing Trapper (I feel like the getting off the hook part should be buffed). Pharmacy as every one here said isn't good because you can just use Self-Care. Now if you run Ace in the Hole like CakeDuty said, then you have a decent perk.
-
Just updated an Insidious idea.
Rework: Every 20 seconds while not in a chase, you receive a token. For every 20 seconds during a chase, you lose 1 token. For each token, your terror radius is reduced by 4 meters. Max amount of tokens is 2/3/4. -
@Nickenzie said:
Without any luck offerings or perks, you have a 4% to kobe in 1 attempt. Now with 3 attempts you'll have a 11.5264% to kobe in 3 attempts with a 4% chance. Now with slippery but with no other luck perks or offerings, you'll now have a 19% chance to kobe at tier 3 Slippery Meat with 1 attempt. Now with 6 attempts with tier 3 Slippery Meat... Oh lord... you'll have a 71.757046% to kobe in 6 attempts. Now let's add Up The Ante, this is gonna get juicy! With 3 tokens on Up The Ante tier 3 and Slippery Meat tier 3, you'll have a 28% chance to kobe in 1 attempt. Now let's get to the juicy part, in 6 attempts you'll have a 86.068593% to kobe. I would definitely run Slippery Meat + Up The Ante with your rework because basically I'm getting a free kobe and making my survivor team not waste time trying to save me when they can be on generators.
The chance of getting off the hook doesn't increase every time you try to attempt to get off the hook. Each attempt to get off the hook has a 4% chance of succeeding. By using Up the Ante tier 1/2/3 you then have a 5% - 17% chance of getting off the hook. Depending on how many survivors are alive. (I don't know that exact percentage that luck increases for your attempt chance but DBD wiki said that luck "increases a Survivor's chances of increases the chance of unhooking oneself from a Hook". So it seems the percentage just adds on.) If you only used Slippery Meat, you'd have a 13%/16%/19% chance of getting off per attempt. And it's true, having 3 more attempts would make this even easier to achieve. But it's OK to have this probability. Why? Because having a free "Get out of Entity Jail" free card is still the same as a survivor taking you off a hook. As a killer main I feel bad for survivors only having a 4% chance of getting off. Plus you have to remember that this part of the perk is only active during the first sacrifice phase. I hope that this helped make it a bit clear.

@Twix said:
That’s still pretty broken, because you need to open the exit gate to see Blood Warden up and as soon as the killer spots you, you’re pretty much dead cause there’s no way you’re surviving 100 seconds of BW.
That's true. How's this sound? Rework: Once the exit gates are powered, The Entity to blocks the exits for all Survivors for 45/60/75 seconds.
Also, why should the killer see me opening gate if BW only activates after the exit door has been opened?
The perk would activate after the exit gates would be powered. I should have been more specific with that. And I forgot to mention that all survivors receive a notification that this perk is active once the exit gates are powered. Much like Unnerving presence and Coulrophobia.
-
@Twix said:
I think Blood Warden should only show your aura after opening the door. While opening the door it is too op IMO.What about a certain range then? Like only at 24/28/32 meters do you see their auras opening the gate.
-
@FallenRanger0 said:
Also, they need to add a visual timer for the Killer on Blood Warden... Just to help them plan a little bit more. Just have it be the same timer you see for perks like Pop Goes the Weasel or Make your Choice, where it's on the perk itself.100% Agree.
-
I think the faster sacrifice speed per survivor is a good idea. The insta sac sounds like too much. Plus you have to remember it is somewhat hard to hook survivors in the basement.

I just about loved all these except for insidious, not because I hate it (although I would probably change the 20 second thing) both because that would make more sense for a rework to beast of prey, which is just as useless as monstrous shrine right now, if not more so.Yeah I have to agree about insidious. I had all the other rework ideas and then I forgot about insidious so I threw an idea in. But I do agree Insidious is pretty useless the way it is now.
-
Thanks this helped so much!
-
That would be cool to be honest. Their wouldn't be any perks, there would be a dedicated server for this and it would be soooo much fun. I've never been a fan of battle royale type games but this I would play.

In my opinion, it's a toss up between Doctor and the Huntress. The Doctor can literally shock people. I'd imagine that feel the same as a defibrillator going through your feet. Plus he can make people go insane when near him. Even if people could evade him, they would still go mad. (Because survivors can't go below tier 1 or 2 madness. The Huntress survived bears and German soldiers. I'm pretty sure that she could take on anything you throw her way.
-
I want to say Trapper but to be honest, Huntress is pretty bad-ass. I mean, she's taken down bears, German soldiers and survived by herself while she was still a child. That's pretty bad-ass.
-
I love Trapper but I love Doctor just as much. It was a hard choice for me.
The Doctor will remember that.
