It only counts as complete once you've finished both killer and survivor objectives.
I have no idea why it's like this.
-
As far as I'm aware, I kept the BP from the match, and as the screenshot shows, I clearly received progress from completing the match AND unhooking a survivor. But I did not receive credit for the BP earned despite having earned BP and receiving credit/progress for the other things done in the match. At the very least, this is extremely inconsistent. I could see the argument for receiving no progress for anything, even though that goes against the entire point of abandoning a match rather than suffer through being griefed, but receiving progress for everything EXCEPT Blood Points makes no sense.
-
I was just disconnected, after the match was over, while I was mori-ing the last survivor. Literally every survivor was either dead or escaped. I messaged the other killer, and they were likewise DCed.
0 points, 0 rift progress, 24 hour matchmaking ban.
BHVR, what the absolute #########.
-
Can we please have some kind of official response? Or literally anything? From looking at archives, this started becoming a consistent problem back in June of 2023. I didn't run into it myself until February of 2024, but it has been nonstop since then. This problem has been reported by hundreds of people at this point, thousands of times. I myself have provided logs dozens of times at this point, and threads about this bug are made weekly, if not daily.
Why has this game-crippling bug not being addressed in any way for nearly two years at this point?
What can we give you or provide you to convince you that this is an actual issue with the servers/net code and not a client side issue?
-
Yet again today. Played three games of 2v8 without issue. Fourth game seemed to be fine, then one of the killers DC, then three survivors DCed, then I got DCed. And hit with a one ######### hour matchmaking penalty despite this clearly being YOUR GODDAMNED SERVERS completely shitting themselves.
Boy, I can't wait for the 'go-next' penalties to kick in and to be triple penalized because you can't be bothered to fix your netcode.
-
Stopped seeing this for a few weeks after being subject to it for over a year constantly when I switched over to Epic.
And now three times in the last five games.
Your error messages are garbage and do not explain the issue, and at least once was with a killer streaming (SpookyLoopz) where it was clear the server itself died and just gave everybody a DC penalty. Meanwhile, there are games with killers with a consistent over 2,000 ping.
Fix your ######### #########.
-
Out of curiosity, what's your FOV set at? I had shitloads of Dedicated Server not responding errors going back to the FOV slider change. I tried swapping to Epic, and wasn't getting any, but as soon as I remembered to set my killer FOV up to max, they immediately started again, and went away when I dropped it a bit.
I have the theory that the FOV is causing an error between the client and server as I noticed many of my disconnects come when I was trying to interact with either a hook or window, and it looks like many of these are also on interacting with some object, even if just aim dressing on basics.
-
No such luck! Verified files, rebooted computer and router. Played a game seemingly with no issues for 5 minutes, 8 hooks, two dead (one was left to die while I was on the opposite side of the map), while I was hooking someone, Dedicated Server Not Responding.
This is bullshit, and I've provided literally dozens of logs at this point and only once did I hear back a request for more information, and provided my entire setup, IP, everything, and then proceeded to hear nothing.
I played for years without issue. Starting in January of 2024, constant disconnects with zero feedback from the game, and DBD only.
This. Is. Bullshit.
DeadByDaylight.log -
Didn't play for a week, came back tonight to:
Dedicated Server not responding
Game reporting a constant 40ms with red ping and stuttering teleporting everywhere
Dedicated Server not responding
Lobby doesn't even load, 15 minute matchmaking banLike, I don't know what the utter ######### is going on with your servers here or why they ######### themselves entirely whenever I try to play your game AND ONLY your game, but it would be nice if after a year of this persisently being a problem, we got any response whatsoever.
-
Twice in a row today.
Once, the game didn't even load.
Maybe five seconds after going to the loading screen Dedicated Server Not Responding, enjoy your 15 minute ban.
I've provided dozens of logs at this point. I do not have this issue with any other game. I do not have this issue streaming content. This is your servers, BHVR, and it has been a persistent problem for years now.
-
In the match for literally 10 seconds, dedicated server not responding.
Literally no other online game I play, DRG, Overwatch, Helldivers, etc has any connections issues whatsoever. But DBD? Constantly and without warning, and despite numerous assurances that this is being looked at going back for a year now, radio silence.
Come the ######### on.
DeadByDaylight.log -
Still ongoing. Still never any followup. I can be matched up against a killer with a ping that constantly bounces between 500 and 2000 ms, or play for 20 minutes at 60ms ping with zero hiccups, and then, out of nowhere, Dedicated Server Not Responding.
It's really ######### tiresome.
There was an error displaying this embed. -
Demonstration of it a couple times here.

At 2:38.
It happens when you try to blink and the destination is blocked. Note that it can be blocked by your own model, so you can look straight down (if there's no floor under you), and cancel it whenever.
-
Stopped having it for a few weeks, and tonight? 4/6 games randomly end because of this.
Come the ######### on, BHVR.

I would argue that it is a bug because there's a specific animation and survivor yell that plays for missing a healing skill check, but it's not a missed skill check and no loud noise notification is generated. But it's been in the game for over two years now, since the change to the Hemorrhage status effect, and I know it's been reported a ton of times, and no action ever taken.

I assume that the delay that causes the half second or so of aura read is due to latency, but still, it shouldn't be revealing their aura at all, even for a short time, and reading their aura, even when they're in plain view, should activate Distortion.
-
This is still intermittently happening for me, though since the Drac patch, much less frequently. The last two times it happened in the last couple days were both while hooking a survivor. Once on Spirit as the last hook doing the orange glyph challenge, which was especially annoying, and once on Singularity as just as a random relatively early in the game.

Here's another example of it.

-
https://x.com/TrustInGodly/status/1825191739419664756
Another example. It's done by colliding with the corner of a window/vault.
-
Still waiting for a response.
And I really like the idea of seeing two 100+ post threads about this issue going back over a year on the front page.
-
Still happening. Any time a dev feels like responding, it's past due.
And I've posted a half dozen logs with zero response, so I'm not keen on posting more.
-
This is happening in the opposite direction too. I was just letting them finish because two people DCed right away, and they had to do 6 gens. There's only two unfinished left.
https://i.imgur.com/zYSIzVM.pngWasn't fast enough to load up OBS to go on a tour of the five finished gens, though their lights could all be seen from the middle.
-
You can see from the clip that they don't have Dead Hard, so that ain't it.
-
I should note that it hasn't necessarily stopped happening for me. I've just stopped playing since the anniversary.
And zero dev response to the dozens of logs posted in this thread for months after asking for that to be done.
-
Fix the damn servers.
DeadByDaylight.log -
Was in the game for maybe 20 seconds and then it DCed me.
Just absolutely amazing.
DeadByDaylight.log -
Another day, another inexplicable "dedicated server not responding".
DeadByDaylight.log -
DeadByDaylight.log
I'll be happy to bump this once a day, each time that I see this error.
Which once again, I saw two more times today.
Getting really incredibly truly tired of this crap, which I do not see in literally any other game, or even DBD until a few months ago.
-
No. You're not. BHVR is just refusing to do anything about it. There are threads about this practically daily.
-
There are reports about this almost every single page going back dozens.
Fix the issue, or at least provide a more useful error message. Your servers arbitrarily kicking people out of games and then slapping them with disconnect penalties, if AND ONLY IF they were playing survivor at the time, is just goddamned astonishing implementation of netcode. No other multiplayer game I play has this much instability, so I am exceptionally doubtful that it is a technical problem on my end, nor anybody else's, to be this pervasive and constant of an issue.
-
Any time that somebody on the dev team would like to look at this, it's six plus months overdue.
And after being kicked by your garbage netcode three games in a row, including one where it loaded in and every single player had a red ping and two DCed within 5 seconds before I also got "Dedicated Server not responding", getting real goddamned sick of YOUR garbage netcode and servers penalizing me.
-
How is this not even Acknowledged? There are THREE bugs with Blight breaking pallets with his power right now.
1.) There's supposed to be a half second swing when he breaks pallets that is missing, making pallet breaking faster.
2.) He's supposed to stagger (not be able to move) after breaking a pallet with his power, but he's not, erroneously enabling him to move while in the animation.
3.) If you rush fast enough/close enough to a pallet, you don't go into any CD whatsoever and the pallet just breaks (what the first couple clips in this thread show).
1 and 2 always happen.
The already top/top two killer has three massive bugs making him even more overpowered than he already is. How in god's name is Blight not killswitched?
-
This bug is both easy to perform, well publicized by your own paid employees, and provides a massive advantage.
Why is Blight not killswitched?
-
It's really, truly not surprising at all to see one of BHVR's paid consultants intentionally abusing an exploit in multiple live games in a row, and then bleeding out people who don't want to play against him doing so.
For reference.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2163417979?t=02h46m58sPlease, BHVR. Explain what part of this is okay for someone you are paying. The griefing? The exploiting bugs?
-
Decisive Strike's timer also appears to be active after a Conspicuous Action.
How is just changing a 5 to 4 causing so many bugs?
-
If you self-unhooked, it's a known exploit that BHVR hasn't fixed for months.

Hello, i was playing a private match against bots on PC when i noticed that i could mori a survivor without hooking them twice. This happens when a survivor unhooks themselves when the anti hooking mechanic grants the ability to unhook themselves, and then when you down that survivor, you can mori them with the mori offering. I have attached a screenshot of this happening (in a private match against bots). This needs to be fixed ASAP because this is very problematic.

Calm addons with Distressing.
Queen addon.
-
Confirmed it myself in a custom game as well.
This is pretty damn severe. Moris need to be killswitched immediately.
-
This is a bug that happens when healing someone who's in the dying state, and occurs on all maps. It can be used to get OOB and hold the game hostage.

The last time they touched gens in general, they buffed virtually all regression by making kicks take off more, and removing gen tapping, while only nerfing people aggressively holding a 3-gen from the start.
And the result was that regression perk usage went way up, and tunnelling went off the charts.
So what exactly is the argument here? That we haven't yet reached the magical point where regression is so powerful that all killers will all collectively decide to stop stacking it and stop tunnelling out of the goodness of their hearts?
-
The last time they touched gens, survivors got them removing Chess Merchant games, while killers got baseline kicking buffs and removal of gen tapping.
The result was that regression perks became even more oppressive, people began running them even more, and tunnelling got so bad that they needed to massively buff a band-aid perk to dissuade it.
So the take that "Oh, they just need to keep buffing regression and nerfing gen speed and then we'll stop tunnelling" could use a bit of self-introspection here.
-
Since late July of last year, BHVR has only touched 5 survivor perks in any way. Five.
October 10th - Background Player buffed.
November 28th - Made For This nuked.
January 30th - Quick Gambit was reworked. (lol)
April 23rd - Decisive Strike buffed and Adrenaline nerfed
There are killer add-ons that have gotten more attention and tweaks in the last two hundred and eighty four days than the entire suite of survivor perks, buffs OR nerfs.
-
I mean, it's the exact same as the black bubble, and blast mine. For their entire existence, they worked one way. You could see auras through the bubble. Blast mine was refunded if not kicked.
Then, out of the blue, years after the fact, they decided it was a bug. Hell, the bubble was an acknowledged bug for 10 months before they said it wasn't a bug but a bug fix.
-
It's been happening to me consistently ever since the Alan Wake patch, but BHVR keeps closing these threads and saying "sounds like you're having network issues." The only thing I can add is that I was playing with a streamer in the lobby once when I got the "dedicated server not responding" message, but despite two of us dropping 10 seconds apart, the game and other players were still going, so even the error message was wrong.
This didn't used to be reported in the bug forum 2-3 times a day, BHVR. You changed something with your servers or the way they communicate with the clients that has caused these faulty disconnects to become extremely common. Inaccurate error messages and telling people to check their network ain't the fix.
-
They have been addressing survivor 'techs', at about the same rate as looking at killer 'techs,' which is to say about one thing a year. Recently, they removed being able to cancel drop-down stagger by vaulting. They also removed locker saves.
The devs are being unresponsive and crappy to both sides in such overwhelming amount, with so many bugs and tech debt built up, that it's ridiculous to point to one or two longtime mechanics and say that's evidence of favoritism. We had multiple months where survivor vaults were broken, and even now the Oni Mad Grit vault is being allowed to ruin games with no relief in sight, to say nothing of Twins players just being ######### constantly.

Isn't it just a matter of marking killers with high mobility have a tag?
That would be work too. People have provided a lot of examples in this thread of both mechanics disabling powers already in the game (so it can be done), and ways to implement this mechanic.
But what we've not seen at all is an acknowledgement that the devs do actually see this disparity between how much killers are affected as an issue that needs to be addressed, and if they do, what are they planning to do to address it?
From where I'm sitting, the attitude seems to be that there is no issue with how different killers are affected by DS. Does someone at BHVR care to clarify that point?
Certain killers are clearly warping the game and its mechanics. Nurse, for example, singlehandedly got Awakened Awareness majorly nerfed from its initial version. The number of killers that truly warp the game in unhealthy ways, like being able to basically ignore DS, is still relatively small, and it hardly seems like too much work or complexity just to make special cases for a few of them. They already exist! Plague loses her power when stunned. Artist can't M2 near hooked survivors. These rules and limitations already exist. If another killer is introduced that is similarly too strong, it's not having to redo all 30 killers to account for it having a bad interaction with one perk. It's just tweaking that killer.

I have a "one-size-fits all solution" - disable ctrl and m2 for a duration. Problem solved. No need to alter code for specific killers. If this is still somehow not possible - your post hasn't addressed two other issues - 1) why is such an essential perk locked behind a paywall, 2) why does the buff go against developer philosophy and punish weak killers even more while barely affecting strong ones?
######### seriously. This is not novel code. The Blight Serum add-on already disables a killer's M2 while it's active. Twins (until this upcoming patch) and Artist have their M2 disabled while near hooks. Disabling a killer's M2 is already a thing that exists in game. Nobody was ever talking about disabling all traps mapwide, turning off the chain hunt, resetting Sadako's TVs, or whatever absolute nonsense BHVR is on about.
-
Just to clarify, the error being reported by the game is incorrect. Your client is disconnecting. This has happened to me a bunch too, and one time was with a streamer in the lobby. The dedicated server was 'fine' and the game continued as normal, aside from suddenly spiking red for everybody in the lobby and two people dropping.
Now, it SHOULDN'T be disconnecting at all. They made some change around the end of January (Alan Wake patch) that made this happen much more frequently, and it's gotten even worse with the Unknown patch. Likely lowered or changed the threshold for what it considers a disconnect in some way, intentionally or accidentally. But since they don't comment on any of this in patch notes, and refuse to explain it in the forums, nobody has any idea.
-
Is there some reason that at the very least, Mad Grit isn't killswitched? This is plainly gamebreaking, and it's pretty ridiculous that nothing has been done about it.
