  • For those defending SM, please direct me to the other killers that get the following from basekit of their power:

    1. Can defend 4 gens simultaneously
    2. Can lose their terror radius within the drone radius
    3. Can cause exposed by not disabling drones
    4. Can cause exposed by mis-clicking on the drone input
    5. Can track survivors with a claw trap
    6. Can cause a pallet to break immediately when vaulted by a survivor with a claw trap

I think that covers everything that's just basekit (no addons) I feel like there is some sort of speed boost as well based on trackable survivors?

Survivors are also punished for both disabling and not disabling drones.

Multiple gens camped requires survivors to try and have multiple drones hacked at the same time to prevent quick re-deployment, which if it's a bad 3 gen, then SM can easily prevent this from happening.

Under what circumstances is this sort of gameplay fun and/or balanced in comparison to other killers?

It's got nothing to do with "survivors wanting M1 only killers with boring powers", or survivors unable to prevent 3 gens. It's simply a fact that there is too much benefit to her power for 0 effort.

It requires 0 effort to deploy a drone at 4 gens and then simply rotate between all 4 and slowly wear down the survivors.

Is there actually any thought put into killer gameplay when new killers are designed?

In that it's considered how they will work across all combinations of current perks, maps and the overall gameplay?

Or is the push to ensure a new killer is sent out on-time the only thing that is really driving half-baked killer concepts into the player base and making us flesh out how they should work for BHVR?

Last I checked, we don't get paid to explain how their game works to them, we're actually paying them to give us poorly thought through killers, survivors and perks and then we wonder why we're left with the bare basics of a game.

Is it really that hard a concept to simply take the time to fix up current and outstanding issues, plan out in-depth how killers should work, how various combinations of perks will work amongst different killers and maps etc?

Because if it is, maybe BHVR is getting in over their heads and they currently have too much content to manage and therefore unsure what to do?

  • I find the introduction of boons with a complete disregard for how their game operates actually hilarious.

    CoH:-

Trapper - Someone stepped in a trap that you're not near and escaped and you think you can go down them, lol that's cute

Wraith - Sorry, no more hit and run now

Huntress - Srew your cross maps

Legion - Sorry, no more hit and run now

Ghost Face - Insta down or become an M1 killer with no power

Oni - Sorry, no more hit and run now to get blood

Twins - You injured someone with Victor? Well guess what, they're on the other side of the map and healed now

Nemisis - Your Zombies actually managed to injure someone? Well now that survivor is occupied for 2 seconds (YAY)

Artist - You crossed mapped someone with a crow? That's nice, they're healed. (Also screw Pentimento)

    SS:-

Billy - Screw your BBQ snipes

Nurse - You hit someone and now they have Iron Will, well you better go find someone else to chase, they're long gone. And also screw your BBQ snipes and whilst we're at it, screw Nurses calling.

Hag - Screw your aura add-on for triggered traps.

Doc - Screw your aura add-on for tier ups

Huntress - Screw your BBQ cross maps

Freddy - Good lucking figuring out which gen they're on without BBQ

Spirit - Screw your BBQ snipes

Oni - Screw your BBQ snipes

Blight - Screw your BBQ snipes

Twins - Screw sending Victor after BBQ procs

Artist - Screw your BBQ procs (Also screw Pentimento)

    Unbreakable Boon:-

Trapper - You have the dying state add-on? That's nice

Billy - Trying to slug for pressure? That's cute

Nurse - Trying to slug for pressure? Adorable

Myers - Trying to slug to get more T3 value? Think again!

Hag - Trying to slug for pressure because another trap was triggered? Too bad

Huntress - You cross mapped downed someone? That's nice, they're already up

Bubba - Trying to slug for pressure? Well stop being so toxic and take off Insidious and leave the basement

Pig - Want to leave your obsession slugged for a little bit because they're on death hook? Well now all the gens are done and you're screwed.

Plague - Trying to slug to get more benefit from your Corrupt Purge? Too cute

Oni - Trying to slug to get more out of your Demon Dash? This is a survivors game now

Blight - Running Alchemist's Ring and wanting to slug for pressure? Well guess what, use a different add-on (and stop running Tinkerer, you ain't cool)

Twins - You downed someone with Victor across the map? Well that was a waste of time

Nemisis - Your Zombies actually did something and downed someone? Hope you were paying attention to where they were, else you may as well forget about it.

Pinhead - Want to slug someone because the box is being solved? Screw it, who needs Chain Hunt anyway

Artist - You want to try cross map down someone? May as well eat your own crows. (Also screw Pentimento)

    All 3 boons together:-

Killers - It's ok, I'll just go play a different game. I hear VHS is good!

  • Your event is to promote gameplay that makes the killers need to hit the survivor an extra time for a down and makes survivors hide in snowmen most of the game thereby most likely killing them as objectives don't get done.

    Interesting...

    I have a few suggestions

    1) In the lobby, you should see what perks your teammates have.

    2) A survivor's icon should glow red when they are getting chased by the killer (similar to how the tentacles move for the obsession)

    3) Being able to see your teammates auras when someone is hooked

    4) Having some pings or a few callout lines, such as: "I found a hex totem!", "I'm going for the unhook!", and "My generator is almost complete!"

All of them would be pretty good except #3. We have Kindred, Empathy, Bond etc to help with that

  • Hag Traps - These will still trigger, you can just dead hard out of reach of the insta teleport M1

Doctor Shocks - You have to dead hard completely out of range

Clown Gas - You still get intoxicated

Chains - You can dead hard out of the way, but not whilst chained

  • I thought of those as well and I do know there was one swf that had a high ranking friend (I knew them).

But based on the amount of games I had in a row where it was always the same, there is definitely something not "right" about it.

  • I understand what it's based on. But you can see I was already Iri 3 after reset, and yet somehow vs'ing people with so few hours in the game.

  • Noticed this also. One game, I didn't lose the item, but did lose the addons (Steam/PC)

  • Noticed this as well. You can still grab 2 perks from the bloodweb, just one less choice.

  • There are several bugs with this at the moment.

    • Video Tape addon - the traps don't kill
    • Use both iris and the survivors won't start with traps on and you'll still have no traps to use throughout the game
    • Trying to remove a helmet and it either; a) works, b) glitches and the helmet is stuck at the cage, c) appears you have taken it off, but for everyone else you still have it and can still search other cages
  • Also tested if you are downed when the last gen is popped it does not proc.

  • That has only happened to me if you restart the game.

  • I ran Plunderers and Ace in the Hole earlier. 4 chests and 0 keys.

I was in the game, he kept him there for over 20mins before we decided to just leave.
