  • Still requires 2 perks to reach that point instead of JUST Pain Resonance.

Lol no. Anybody can do self claim stuff, thats very common especially in the comp scene. I've faced Onryos like that, and the slug addon is only a green one : with a bit of strategy its very manageable to do that.

This clip is extreme since it shouldnt happen in comp play, but you are in total denial so I had to show you it.

What am I in denial of?

You forget the slug tech thanks to the add on that share condemned when healed.

    And @Xperian

    https://youtu.be/ugPWMMbYg70

So your example is the #1 Onryo in a tournament. Using a technique that requires what seems to be a fair bit of finesse and buildup. And you're comparing that to a person who just holds M2 while looking in the general direction of people, then walks behind them and presses left click.

Just to be clear, that's your counter here? Are you saying Mikey SHOULD have this add on because the Onryo strat exists? Because I'd be happy changing both.

In fact you can tell if Myers has tombstone by looking at his hand (the one without a knife). If it's open it means that he has tombstone so he will grab and kill you. It it is a closed fist it's regular T3 Myers.

This is a useful tip from far away, but in my case he just walked behind me until we were basically touching, popped t3, and I was dead.

So, because you got tombstoned, you think it should be erased from the game?

No. Because it goes against every other Mori/kill change and feature they made, it should be erased from the game. Just change the addon. Something interesting. Maybe he doesn't suffer the negative effects of obsession perks like STBFL, or gets multiple obsessions. I'm sure there are things that can be changed that keep the Michael Myers feel alive without screwing over someone immediately.

  • @Gore_DeWitt said:

If you only repaired 1 gen before a full iridescent Myers went to T3 you are doing something wrong.

I didn't say he had full iri. He didn't. He had tombstone piece and popped T3 after one gen because we were on an extremely open map. Thank you for immediately blaming me though instead of answering why he still has an instant kill, the only one in the game.

And no, Sadako doesn't count. She cannot get you to be condemned on her own unless you are running directly to every TV and letting her farm it on you. Mikey can farm it on anyone, save the power, and pop it when on top of you.

You're either not playing survivor or intentionally being disingenuous and gaslighting. Either way,

I see killers tunnel in nearly every match. Because if they get one person out early, the rest of the game is a cakewalk. Gens have been slowed and chases are easier now. So in a 3v1, one person will be hooked, one person will be going for save, and one will be working on a gen or running the killer. There is no time to make significant progress on generators in this scenario. When one person is dead, it's almost guaranteed to be game over if there are more than 2 gens remaining. Especially if people are not in a 4 stack SWF. It feels worse now because it IS worse now. Not more common - just harder to fight.

Tunneled off hook two games in a row now. Because killers can count to 5. I even took a build recommended by someone on the forums for extending the chase when being tunneled because it's been such a bore. Still got tunneled even after he knew I had OTR. Killers tunnel because it wins games and BHVR is too chicken**** to do anything about it. It's a wonder they've brought the game this far. This patch is unplayable in solo queue. You'd be better off cutting your fingers off at each knuckle, you'd have more fun. Uninstalling.

That would be interesting. Thana gives the same effect in time wastage per gen that Pop got each pop so it would be interesting to see how much Thana replaced Pop. Personally, I don't think Pop is really worth running anymore over a good chase perk.

My experience haS been pretty good so far in solo but the only perk I used that got nerfed was DS and that got replaced by the superior OTR so I think I was in a better situation than many to deal with it.

If you don't mind me suggesting a build have you tried Deliverance, SB, OTR and something else? I've gotten pretty good results from those.

OTR, Overcome and Lucky Break have worked pretty well for me too. I hope it gets better for you.

mean, I just got hard tunneled by a blight who said that if he hadn't hard tunneled me, he would have lost. So that's fun, that's still a way killers can force a win.

I don't take deliverance. Every time I do, I'm the first one found or somehow the first one hooked after they hit someone else. Something about me entices them, idk. Either way, it's happened so often that I just don't bother anymore. I will try OTR, SB, maybe lucky break or lightweight.

  • Nobody has answered the question - why can it be done on the first interaction with a survivor? BHVR has made it clear that they don't want it to function that way for ANY other killer. So what if he's weak compared to others? His instant kill is antithetical to the direction they're trying to take the game.

  • @Ryuhi said:

you can jump in a locker to prevent the grab. It has the same counterplay its always had.

That doesn't help if you're the first survivor he pops T3 on. Thanks for your suggestion but "jumping in a locker" is not great advice in many cases. Are you going to be at a locker every time he might have T3? Are you going to do that against every Mikey until you know if he has it? Just change the stupid addon.

That only applies if you define a meta in a general category. Ruin's done like dinner, Pop is almost never seen, etc. In return, both sides got more interesting opportunities to try out a more varied selection of perks.

I have seen pop in all 4 matches today and several yesterday. It's going to be hard to verify any of this without data from BHVR, which I so look forward to seeing. Anecdotally, it's been a ######### show for survivors and it really just doubled down on the slowdown meta. But maybe they see something different across the board.

Either way, playing solo q survivor right now sucks.

  • The meta is still "slow down gens." Except now it's not done out of necessity, it's done because it's so strong.

  • @impossibleodds said:

The "numerous people" who feel killers are strong, wouldn't happen to be survivor mains, would they?

I play both but when I play survivor it's mostly solo queue. Because all of my friends hated the game and quit.

Solo queue is significantly worse now. As a lone player, you now have less impact than you did before. I played 3 or 4 games tonight and on 3 of them, the killer just decided to camp. All of them had at least 2 slowdown perks, despite the gens being slower in general now. It was honestly awful. People are just tunneling and camping after 1 gen gets popped. DS is useless and the base kit BT is only meaningful if you're getting sandbagged by your "teammates."

Still nothing to punish camping or tunneling killers. Just pause the damn hook timer if the killer is too close so that they're forced to leave.

  • Agreed on this. If BHVR can't figure out fixing the game, at least give one of its most positive content creators some honorary stuff that helps him live comfortably.

  • I can't even report it on BHVR's support site because the file "takes too long to load" and loses connection. Compressed it and the same thing happened.

  • Well, just happened again. Same person.

  • BHVR has signaled that they care more about profitable strategies than game health. I can't blame them - they have mouths to feed and need to turn a profit.. But some of their decisions blow my mind. I won't pretend to be an expert at game dev but from a player perspective, it's really frustrating.

  • I just ran into this as well. What a cluster, dude. The match lasted a minute.

  • @fulltonon said:

Playing solo is basically guaranteed lost game, as survivors playing soloq tend to be worst of all... probably myself included.

Preach. I ran a Mikey for nearly half the game - for the first 2 gens and for the last gen. Had Iridescent medal for losing the chases. Silver medals for everything else because I barely got to touch gens. I get downed at the exit gate, two console survs just standing there teabagging mikey, and the final survivor is hiding behind a tree with a flashlight without bothering to even try to get a blind off. I die and lose MMR. The M1 warriors all escape.

I also find it absolutely hilarious how I'm required to play nice or i'm "absolute garbage and toxic", but I see NO effort from my opponents to try and play "nice". Why the ######### am I supposed to play nice and throw the game because little timmy wanted to win, except little timmy in this situation is a ######### grown man way older than me streaming on twitch, having a tantrum and throwing slurs at me over a video game. When he is having 0 thoughts about my "fun". Probably laughing at how stupid I look when I make 1 mistake.

I guess survivors should stop using God pallets, or loop me on strong tiles, or do gens fast, or predrop pallets, or send me to a horrible map, or run dead hard, or run any exhaustion perk, or use toolboxes, or separate on gens, or basically do literally anything that is unfun to me, right? What is this batshit stupid idiodic double standard logic that only exists in this stupid ######### game???

Don't need you to go easy. Just don't facecamp me.

You don’t get to decide when they are allowed to hook defend or not.

what you do in your games as killer is irrelevant.

You had a great chase but then got caught and your team failed to rescue you and so were eliminated. That’s all that happened here. It’s part of the game and it’s gonna happen sometimes.

If I’ve run the killer for over half the objective it really doesn’t surprise me if they try and make sure I’m eliminated because they probably don’t want to chase me for two health states again.

It’s nothing personal so don’t assume it’s some attack on your fun because the opponent is mad at you. That’s a recipe for making yourself upset over a game.

You can say I don’t find it fun to be camped that’s legit, but to say that it’s unjustified or the killer is angry at you, or you don’t do it so why should anyone else is really just BS I’m afraid.

On the other side of this, a Claudette ran a doctor straight to me, he then went for me instead of her. He then facecamped me, not even bothering to move. Team came and rescued me with BT, but he ignored all of them and went for me again. I get downed a 2nd time, this time with NOED which didn't matter anyways because I couldn't heal mid chase. 2nd hook it is. Get facecamped again. Team gets NOED, gets me off the hook without BT, I immediately go down. He then lets me sit on the ground for a minute while staring at me waiting for DS to run out, which I didn't have anyways. Once everyone realized it was futile, they just left and I got the the final hook. He got 3 hooks that game, all from me, and there was no reason for it. He literally just felt like facecamping.

So tell me how much fun you think I had in that match. How I wasn't skillful because I couldn't run a doc for all gens and still escape, I went down after a quick chase and got essentially blocked from the game for the rest of the match. What survivors are out there that can prevent the killer from playing the game completely?

Why does BHVR continue to just let this ######### by? Why are people getting tunneled and camped in 50% of matches? Why is that totally ok?

  • @BenZ0 said:

how does pain resonance encourage tunneling and camping? It does the exact opposite, you want to hook many survivors, if you camp someone and they reach struggle they dont get the effect of the perk, and tunneling leads to slugging which means also no hooking, no value out of the perk again.

    And jolt? What xDDD

I could have been more clear there. One way to keep killers from camping is to encourage them to leave the area to patrol gens or gain a benefit, like Pop Goes the Weasel, Devour Hope, or Make Your Choice. They encourage you to leave the hook and perform actions elsewhere. Perks like Jolt, Oppression, and Pain Resonance allow you to pressure the gen progression without having to patrol/leave the hook area.

    Just my 2 cents.

  • @OpenX said:

I would argue boons encouraged camping and tunneling more than any recent killer perk they have put out. I loaded into Midwich against 3 CoH/Shadowstep boons the other day and it's like yeah F trying to do anything other than camp or tunnel that match.

I could probably run around kicking boons nonstop and they would still be up around the entire map.

I can understand that. But that doesn't happen every game, or every other game. I see maybe one person bring boons every other game or so, sometimes more sometimes less. But I feel like I get a tunneler or camper every other game. Last 4 games have all been tunnelers , with the 5th being a camping bubba. What's even the point of playing then? May as well just go play killer and wait for friends to maybe possibly some day want to play the game so I can try and get the survivor challenges finished.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/314422/why-does-bhvr-continue-to-encourage-camping-and-tunneling

    From a killer's perspective:

    • Camping, as in facecamping is something that BHVR have openly stated that they don't like and want to do away with. However, this is difficult to do without completely breaking the game, and survivors aren't guaranteed a safe unhook (if I'm chasing you and you run over and unhook someone in my face, that's your fault not mine).
    • Tunneling directly off hook is just facecamping.
    • Tunneling outside of this is how killers are supposed to play. If you get down to 1 gen left and have everyone alive and not on death hook, you're going to get teabagged all the way to the exit gates.
    • Personally, I don't tunnel enough and lose a lot of games because of it - and I still get whinged at in postgame because people love to run directly into me after an unhook, or play flicky flicky teabag and wonder why I'm giving them so much attention (literally just played a game where a Jake with a legacy skin was spamming a flashlight macro on Eyrie. He got hooked, spammed it again as soon as he saw me, got hooked, spammed it again and I finished him off. He then cussed me out in postgame for tunneling him. I asked him why he was spamming his flashlight at me if he didn't want me to chase. His response 'be a man, grow up and learn to take a joke'. Sigh.)
    • You have a team for a reason. They should be running interference and you should be playing very carefully.
    • Survivors tend to be very nasty to killers when they win. If survivors are tired of killers playing sweaty, they need to stop hanging around in the exit gates to gloat. Most people would prefer salt to gloating.
    • Camping outside of facecamping is totally fine, and this has been confirmed by the devs multiple times. Be careful where you go down and don't lead the killer to the basement.

As I always say to survivors who complain about the methods killers use to win - play a few weeks of killer. Walk a few miles in those shoes - then get back to me.

You've got some good points, and I'd like to point out that I was a consistent red rank killer before SBMM and I just haven't played as much of it lately. The problem is that in solo que, teammates DON'T run interference, and you have no way of coordinating. If I try to rescue someone who is getting proxy camped (which BHVR has said is OK - further proving my point) and the killer just won't hit me so I can unhook/trade, or they get into a 2 second chase with me before going back to the hook, then what's the point? You may as well just let the survivor die on the hook while you go pump gens to try to punish the killer.
