  • I'm terrible at keeping track of hook states per survivors, since there's so much going on and I don't have enough experience with Killer yet, but unless survivors are being completely gross/are way above my rank but still in my match somehow I just play normal.

Well, normal-casual. I couldn't play sweaty if I tried, but I'm more than happy to let people get points too. There's too much grind in this game and it's even the only reason I'd care about winning. The perk grind is stupid.

  • I just crashed trying to heal myself with a medkit I looted inside the blue Boon area. Immediately on right click the game locked up and crashed to desktop.

Edit: Vs. Trapper, one of the Autohaven maps, 3 Mikaela's, me on Feng.

  • Wraith and Doctor, actually. Wraith is so obnoxiously unfun and so is Doctor. Hitting the whole map and blowing out my eardrums almost as bad as Nemesis is just stupid. I'm not best player NA, so I never ever see Nurses and if I do, they're Baby Nurse and even I can juke them. She and Spirit have more counter play options than "Hide in a locker" or "Die bc it's an invisible Nascar driver".

  • Jills and Davids. I find them to be usually the players I prolly shouldn't be being matched with yet, but they're still ending up in my rank somehow.

  • I'm really enjoying with playing the game with these sorts of BP levels with how many stupid perks there are and how much I have to constantly be slogging through like 9 million Bloodwebs.

But on that same token, I'd honestly more so enjoy if that was standard payout, and not something I have to wait once a year for. So it's a mix of "yes I enjoy it, but also no I don't enjoy that regular quality of life is 'special'"

I just enjoy how legion can quickly injure at least 2(3 or 4 if they are close enough) survivors it's fun running around and stabbing people as long as I can get a 3k a match as legion I'm satisfied lol

Also legion has some sick cosmetics

Year of the Rat Susie is what first got me playing Legion, ngl.

  • I know people are terrified of Legion actually having a useful power for something other than seeing if a survivor is right on top of you and making them waste some time off of gens (bc deep wounds is a joke and I've literally only seen one baby Dwight get downed to it)...so..

I would just love if nothing else your M1 to not decrease your charge on Feral Frenzy, bc it's honestly incredibly stupid and only exists as a final 'F you' from Legion being super OP at first. FF remains unable to down and also still doesn't count as a basic attack? Take the horrible stun at the end down a notch. Or allow it to be a basic attack again, for the purpose of Sloppy Butcher for some added slow down, since that's all Legion really does anymore beyond actually being able to chase you at speed for a bit in loops before stunning themselves for 20 years anyway.

Your power isn't helpful enough in terms of being a real threat to any remotely competent survivors, I feel, to justify constantly having to choose between your only real method of securing a down (m1) or using FF at all as they directly compete with each other and with a Killer's primary gameplay and objectives right now (secure downs and hook survivors, which FF does not primarily provide). Perhaps some of the addons that increase KI range or cooldown could become basekit just to alleviate the constant sense of Legion's mechanics being in competition with themselves to get anything done you would otherwise just do on any other killer, and more easily.

Legion is likely the most raw-general-skill dependant killer in the game, 70% going to your macro decisions and 30% to how you run tiles as short M1 killer.

Playing against decent coordinated teams is really tense as literally 1 mistake or slight overextention costs you the game immediatly. Playing against weaker opponents provides you with the most unloseable matches out of all the killers, and usually you know survivors have quite literally 0 chance 30-40 seconds into the game.

Regarding the latter part of the original post, do you actually miss hits with legion in FF? How?

Literally exactly this. Like I said, this is what turned me on to Legion originally when I watched some Rank 1 play to see how they operated. It can feel really amazing, like you're learning, or totally struggle bus and be very tiring. They are absolutely not a killer for everyone, but can be a great learning tool for raising your personal skill floor if the work doesn't put you off.

But I can tell you it's a world of difference say picking up Spirit to not have that weight sitting on you the whole game you do sometimes on Legion. Depending on the game, it can be a lot more like 'Anxiety Frenzy' than 'Feral Frenzy'

  • @Wraff said:

Can anyone legitimately tell me why we still have Perk Tiers? And dont give me that "Blood Point Economy" nonsense. We cant gift, trade, or do anything with bloodpoints as a community so there is no "economy" just a tediously long grind that gets longer with each new chapter.

The 'Bloodpoint Economy', if anyone wants to claim there is one, for some reason, is actually 'forced playtime economy' and nothing else. I don't mind that the game has only one game-mode, when it really technically has 2. It's just pointless to play as Survivor bc it's miserable and you'll get like 3k BP for your time so you can maybe buy 1 item on a Bloodweb a match.

I'd be a lot more inclined to play often without being coerced by godawful grind if I had perks available so I could just try builds and play the game. I'd buy and try more killers too bc I'd actually be able to use them instead of needing to wait like 20 hours of gametime on something else so that I could put perks on them so they can actually do something other than hit M1 and pray. Survivor it's even worse. You have no kit other than perks.

  • Legion needs a rework something fierce, for sure. I'm not an expert, but even just removing the detraction to your power cooldown on M1s would be sufficient as a start.

I picked up Legion initially bc of Susie's Year of the Rat costume, but I keep playing them bc, at least for me, they seem to really teach you how to do the more difficult player-based skills of DBD. Like playing loops, mindgames, severe map control, those sorts of things. Bc their power only helps you slow down the game a tiny bit and give you information, and also speeds you up during chases, you're relying a lot more on what you yourself can bring to your matches.

That isn't to say I'm good, I've just been learning more bc of it. That said, Legion is very tiring to play when you have a good group of Survivors. You will work like you've never worked before and you tend to always feel steps behind on tough games. Other killers don't feel quite so....desperate when things go south as they have more answers in their kits, generally.

  • I would bring them, but I can't really spare BPs on Kate, bc I have too many Killer teachables I need to get unlocked on people. Also, I stopped bothering with her Bloodweb bc I wasn't having cakes show up anyway. She's like level 40ish or so, if that matters. They show up on my Killers just fine though even from level 2+.

  • I just got it. It's a beautiful looking map, like stunning work from the design team. But my god is playing in it horrible. I thought the SH map was bad, but at least it's mostly navigate-able even if I can 't ever find gens correctly. This one is just an actual nightmare in practice.

That still falls under the banner of "putting words in ones mouth"

    Sadly it does not

  • @MadLordJack said:

Actually, in that scenario they can only get up to 8k BP, and you were essentially bullying a baby killer which doesn't take much effort because, you know, 5 minutes.

I hate to break it to you and be 'that person' but OP isn't putting words in your mouth, at least in regards to this particular statement they quoted originally. All they did otherwise is infer/suggest, likely from their own negative experiences, that you must then also think the opposite of this is true IE "It's only fine for Killers to do xyz bc SURVIVORS are evil". You know that argument.

Isn't the skin the prestige award?

    What more do people want?

If you spend hours playing a game and think somehow that is a great feat and makes you deserving of something more, then frankly you're a fool.

I'd personally like it to at least not remove the perks we have equipped (correct me if I'm wrong you lose your perks and your items entirely in your inventory) and not essentially just wipe your WHOLE character progress for some blood splashes and 6 billion BP spent.

  • It took me 15 minutes just now to even enter a lobby on Survivor, after swapping due to constant "Failed" errors and my game becoming stuck trying to play Killer. The servers themselves have to be busted, bc if it was congestion, I wouldn't have been in this lobby waiting a further minute or 3 for the other Survivors to pop in.

Survivors have a wide variety of things they CAN do. But if you play well, you only ever do one thing. Killers HAVE to do everything. No matter how well they play, they don't have the luxury of holding W or M1. The game is built in such a way that killers MUST be actively engaging in every part of the game or they lose, which is why they get so many points (comparatively).

Survivors, on the other hand, are not built in such a way that they are obligated to perform a variety of actions. One survivor could fix all the generators by themselves. One survivor could loop the killer by themselves. If you're playing well enough, you never even NEED to save or heal. So, a perfect survivor game often means maxing Survival and whatever task you were doing, without engaging in either of the other two parts of being a survivor.

I'm talking about forcing survivors to do other things. If you have to hunt for totems, you're getting Boldness points. If chasing survivors off of generators means the gens start going backwards, the killer is incentivized to give all the survivors chase points, even if they're on Gen Duty. Giving the killer a good reason to break off from chasing the designated Looper also means the looper either gets Altruism points by rescuing and healing their less talented partners, or objective points when they switch from looping to working on Gens.

Survivors shouldn't get maximum points just because they wildly outclass the killer they get matched against. I don't care if you're passively holding M1 on a generator or you loop so good you never even get touched: if you're not doing a little bit of everything, you aren't being challenged enough to deserve full points.

This just comes across as extremely salty and like you somehow take other peoples' scores personal. I play both Killer and Survivor, and it's never once been on my mind that another player's BP gains affect me in any way, or that other players are responsible for BHVR being so obsessed with Bloodwebs being a mobile-game energy system-level useless grind to pad out game time on a game that doesn't even have a monthly sub for them to try to use as justification for making us waste time grinding/forcing x many hours of extra play time to have a perk build, for instance.

And if you're Survivor, your payout is insulting little baby allowance numbers. Why on earth would they go out of their way to put themselves in more danger and slow down their own objectives by doing totems unless there's an Archive for it which is the only way to see the proper amount of BP they should be getting for playing the game as-is? Or unless it's yet another Hex: Ruin etc. I don't think it's so much a matter of "Survivors should always get max points" as "Survivors actual payout for doing anything is baseline far too low, and the floor needs to start higher to incentivize giving a #########". It's compounded with the fact, as well, that Bloodwebs are over-expensive and just grow more and more as you learn more teachables, which shouldn't be a punishment or further draw out your grinding to achieve, bc you've already unlocked them on a character to even do so. Oftentimes for upwards of like 600k+ Bps. It's stupid, mean-spirited, and has nothing to do with gameplay balance or either side's 'Objectives' in terms of needing to force anyone to play a specific way as an unrelated band-aid 'fix'.

  • Matchmaking is broken. I'm getting Matchmaking Failed error trying to play killer, and then have to alt f4 my game as you cannot back out to menu or fix it any other way. Survivor I go into like a 5 minute queue and the same thing happens. Something severely wrong with their servers rn.

Seriously dont sweat it i mean lets face the facts here they dont want you to camp they dont want you to tunnel but they will be damned if they let you have one kill per game. Really till they step up and pony up at least one kill they really should stop complaining and asking us to be nice to them cause they wont be nice to you in return.

It's honestly extremely rare that I've had survivors I'd consider 'negative' in any way, other than seeing a game is going poorly and just leaving their other, harder-working teammates on the hook. SOmetimes at the end of the game, if i'm slugging a person, it's so I can try to find their other teammate who's obv. trying to let them die after doing all the gens for them so they can find the hatch they didn't help create. Hard to communicate that tho, admittedly.

I play killer more than survivor, and I like to give everyone a fair chance but if I come across the same survivor again, I'll just slug them. Creates pressure. Gets survivors off gens.

I do this as well, having to end up downing the same person is something I find more often happens to me, in terms of also hooking them, in later stages of the match where the game is almost to Exit Gates time. I still don't love it, but none of us can choose when there's only 2 Survivors left or so. If we find you, we find you.

  • Killers not farming with us with cakes being offered.

  • Freddy or Leatherface, I'd think. From survivor side/my personal experience. I won't lie, I dc'd a lot with old/Original Freddy, it was miserable and not worth the 5 bloodpoints for the PTSD. These days, I only have people dcing against me as Spirit for some reason, not often though. Just one full game of DCers, or one person here and there. Leatherfaces are all facecampers so again, not really surprised people are dcing to at least get into a worthwhile match and not reward that sort of playstyle.

  • @HaunterofShadows said:

eeeeeeeeehhh like there's tunneling and then running into the same survivor again on ######### luck

This. A lot of times, I run into the same person I just hooked seconds ago and cannot see anyone else as they run away. I'm genuinely sorry it turns out that way, but it's a hard balance between putting myself in a losing position to toe the line of not looking like an A-hole. It's a matter of that, to me, I cannot see anyone else near me and it's precious time to run around all over looking for someone else to not give the wrong impression.

  • Leon, bc he's a hottie. Also had a Kate earlier with the exact outfit I use, which was kinda cute to run into.

Sure you get something out of it but the reward isn't good enough.

It's like working hard at a job then only getting paid 25 cents. The reward you get does not equal the hard work you put into it. All you get for prestiging is bloody clothes and that's it. All that hard work for a 1 cosmetic that is arguably outclassed by the other paid cosmetics. There is no harm in adding better rewards for prestiging.

I think, with this comment, what's being highlighted here is that the issue why Prestige prolly feels so stupid is bc you get cosmetics, and lose all your perks to do so. Just so you can spend 5 bazillion more BPs to be able to play your build again. The issue isn't inherently the Prestige system, fundamentally. It's the lackluster BP rewards and completely idiotic pricing/grind-fest to fake player retention by doing a Hex: Ruin level slow down on moving through your bloodwebs, which is what Prestiging really is, tbh. Just zooming through more bloodwebs to have a permanently bloodied outfit. On top of that, Bloodweb is RNG so who knows how many tiers of it you have to go through to get your perks, just so you can Prestige again, and go into the grind for 500 more hours for piecemeal BP rewards to do it again.

No wonder it feels incredibly meh when you boil down what's actually happening in the process.

  • I haven't ever checked their streams, and I'm too low rank to be with the big streamers. But my experience has been only having fellow survivors with TTV in their name. Sometimes they're the best on the team, and help me get through matches like you'd expect. One time I had one who immediately dc'd at the start of the match, without the killer ever even finding him. Like we'd just loaded in. That's more what I expect at my rank, bc if you're TTV at like rank 16 on survivor...you're prolly a different breed, we'll put it that way. I expect you to be more 'toxic' than red rank, tbh.

  • All of these points are spot on. That said, I can only comment on my own experience as a 'Never ranked above 15 Survivor" who plays solo entirely.

I would care far less about how miserable it is to play as Survivor, at least for me, and try to get archives etc done and get BPs and etc...if you actually GOT BPs. My god it's the most miserable thing, and that's why I'm often giving up in my games. So sorry to my teammates, honestly. But it's really hard to care about working super duper hard for like..2k blood points. I can barely buy more than 2 things on a Bloodweb if I've -Escaped- which is just madness. Now, I'm not running We're Gonna Farm Forever bc I don't have it yet on my preferred Survivor (Due to the godawful BP rates) but even still...that Perk as written just incentivizes farming your teammates off hooks. How nice.

Meanwhile, I can play absolutely terrible on Killer and still make bank. I don't even have to be super tilted or super sweaty and kill everyone. BBQ more correctly rewards you for doing anything and everything in the game you're supposed to, vs just farming your poor teammates on hooks which often only makes a bad survivor round worse.

Actually reward Survivors for this ridiculous murder-slog with something other than the ability to tbag or 'be toxic', that's literally all they have to feel good about most of the time which is yikes.

I don't feel like I beat anyone when I "win" in this game. Survivor or killer. It is too unbalanced, rng based and weird.

I just want to give the other side some points and do it like a gg thing. I leave my items. Ocasionally I let the killers hook me too.

I respect all the players who are not toxic. I don't see the other side as my enemy just because we are up against each other in a video game. I seriously don't understand why is everyone so mad if people dont bm or say mean things.

I'm in exactly the same boat honestly, on both killer and survivor. I have no reason to inherently dislike a player unless they are actively trying to be negative or mean or something. Playing well doesn't mean you're bullying me, either.

I've given up 4ks and taken too-long chases, unfortunately in what may seem like tunneling, bc a survivor was honestly extremely good and chasing them (even from a losing position) would hopefully teach me more about how to play the game well. I'm trying to learn from the good players out there, and there are many good survivors even at my mid-range ranks. I play Survivor, it's absolutely miserable. I'm ecstatic when a survivor outplays me in a chase or w/e, bc I know how hard it is for them. I'm walking out with tons of BP for just existing where they have to bend over backwards. I can't possibly be tilted or upset.

The few times I've experienced teabagging, I just remember when I play survivor how terrible it often feels. They're just getting it out of their system, I have no idea ######### their other games that day looked like so no reason to take it too personal. They're just people on the other side of the screen. So long as you aren't being derogatory in endgame chat or something that's flat out wrong, it's w/e.

  • I tend to always do this as a survivor actually, though not for like the full timer. I'll wait around a few seconds to both check if a teammate needs help (if I can provide any, I'm not incredibly good tbh) and I'm more than happy to give some extra BPs to Killers. The grind in this game is the most soul crushing nightmare I've seen in a while, so I'll risk them thinking I'm going to be toxic if it means doing something nice for somebody.

Just like as a killer, I often want to give people the hatch but they won't stop struggling, and it's hard to communicate/easy for them to be untrusting of me just due to how the game itself is designed/all the toxicity. Survivor especially gets such piddly BP numbers, it's never bothered me. I've also done things like point at random objects I need for the stupid Archives. Sometimes people understand, and I'm more than happy to have a 'scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" scenario. It's just a game. Dying is whatever, it's really just the horrible slog that is BP.

  • Really, most killers are at least bearable, or even fun.

With the exception of Leatherface (Every last one is a facecamper), Deathslinger (Face Camper w/ a harpoon), and Freddy is just confusing and obnoxious w/...whatever his rework did. I can't understand him/the dreamworld in the current iteration, other than he's stupid and annoying like he's always been. You just sometimes survive these days.

  • As a person who's played mostly survivor and cannot make it past R15 vs. just starting to play killer I have to say Killer is easier. I can rip my hair out trying to get anything done as survivor and just barely scrape by with 4k BPs. On Killer, I can 'lose' via not getting a 4k, and still make out with over 50K bps to actually progress to having perk builds on my characters. I never feel like I'm actually losing bc of this, even against really good SWFs I've encountered. And bc I know how godawful it feels to try and get any reward as Survivor (prolly why you end up with 'toxic' SWF) like..they never make me mad. Cuz I'm still making absolute bank and actually able to try out different builds. Good luck doing that on Survivor even after a good chunk of hours, at least in my experience.

  • I die on hook every time and don't even bother with the struggle mechanic, it isn't worth needing hand surgery over. It's far past time they added some sort of handicap/button hold system or something to this, or just have it be automatic. It serves no purpose other than to get your teammates some BP farm on you, and cause all manner of stress syndromes for your hand tendons.

  • Kate & Susie/Legion.
