  • I think people need to be more mindful of the unhook situation and the unhooker should be prepared to take aggro if the killer is proxy-camping. If the unhooker just farms you and runs off while the killer is nearby and sees you, the elusive does nothing and you are indeed weaker to being tunneled out. But there's still anti-tunnel perks that can be brought. Use DS, DH, Off the record, Babysitter, maybe revive BT, I dunno, maybe we just got too comfortable about the 15s basekit-BT and need to rethink our gameplay now.

A good change was the 15s to 10s endurance/haste bonus in endgame, though, being unhooked now doesn't give a free escape anymore, people have to play for that and killers get another chance for and endgame-down. I like that.

Killer main here: This is like very wrong.. The game is very balanced aside from lobbies where everyone is sweating and using the strongest builds possible. Nobody outside of "High MMR" even knows how to use DS, STB, Deli, momentum tech, proper looping, ect. If you know the basics of killer you should and can win majority of your games.

Majority of events are actually killer sided imo,

    • Masquerade has been killer sided for three years and now people complain when the other side gets something,
    • Lights Out has been killer sided and now people complain that survivors get help with basic looping, (myself included)
    • Christmas events the killer could freeze pallets to stop people from looping and got free hits.
    • Chaos Shuffle is pretty killer sided imo as there are more killer perks that work well across all killers compared to survivors getting better together for the third game, also its super easy to tunnel/slug in chaos shuffle as there are no perks to counter you.
    • 2v8 is pretty easy to win as long as you guys are both slightly above average on killer. (Death squads excluded)

Those are the only events I can think of, but remember the survivor meta has been heavily nerfed so there's even less of an excuse to not be winning your games, especially since killer at lower levels are significantly easier than survivor. This only changes as "High MMR" which I guarantee almost nobody in forums are as if you complain about Tunneling, Slugging, or "Genrushing", you likely are not good at countering it.

I have to disagree on the event thing: I'm not complaining that the surv side got something during Black Banquet, but I was indeed - like many others - unhappy that killers got nothing but this meager poison. And that's how it's handled in recent events, even Blood Moon: Survivors get interactive gameplay mechanics and killers get nothing, maybe a little haste here and there. So what I'm saying is, events should be catering to both sides and give both sides mechanics and fun things to do.

The winter event thing wasn't even killer sided, survivors literally got the same mechanic to make a thrown pallet unbreakable by freezing it, so both sides could use that, I think that event actually was balanced for once.

And chaos shuffle is neither sided, as your perks are random and with many killers you need at least some gen regression against a coordinated team, so killers might not have gen regression, survivors might not have anti-tunnel, no one has meta, and if you're particularly unlucky you get "No Mither" and "Finesse" on surv or a meme-addon that erases your power on killer. That's that.

Lights Out used to be killer sided and I'd say it was supposed to be killer sided, as it should be scary, you should not see anything or have aura reading, that's the fun about it. Now it came back for only one week after having the Banquet as the most surv-sided event in history, why cater to survivors again during this one short time the mode is finally back? Let killer players have something!

I only fear that if the game keeps pampering one side and makes it easier for them, killers WILL feel forced or annoyed enough to play even sweatier, tunnel harder and do everything people cry about, because they feel forced to do so to win. Pampering survivors too much creates even more toxicity in this game.

  • I like map showcases, I was only able to get that Greenville cinema achievement that way, as this map never shows up and with nerfed map offerings there's still 3 other maps in the realm which could trigger.

Map showcases from time to time are a nice feature and I need one for RPD that lasts at least 3 days for that horror "open the gates 20 times" achievement, please!

  • I agree with this take and want to add another point to this: Events.

Every single recent event catered to the survivor side. We had the Black Banquet which was a hot mess where survs would get insanely strong effects and killers got a nerfed clown bottle. Then 2v8 is in the game like every two month, ruining killer queues in both modes, while being another survivor sided mode that caters to survs with every update - survivors can literally remove hook states with the tonics while killers gain a little haste from them.

And now Lights Out, too. That one mode that used to favor killers a little bit and was gone from the game for so long only to come back and give survs basekit Windows, insane gen speeds and an increased anti-camp meter that would trigger so quickly even when killers were only patrolling gens in the area where they hooked. Killers got nothing.

I find myself avoiding the game more and more while events are out, because the blatant favoritism that survivors receive and the spli-queues feel unbearable. It's either playing survivor only during those times or not playing at all.

  • Yes, exactly this. We don't want him to be reinvented or his whole mechanics rewritten, Wesker was perfectly balanced before 9.5 - yes, there were some bugs, but when BHVR decided to change significant things about his collision and patched out Sky Wesker, everything went downhill and new worse bugs are piling up every patch now, even resulting in a killswitch and - as OP said - Wesker mains losing their fun in playing the character they spent tons of hours to learn in the first place.

Revert Wesker to his prior state from 9.4 and start fixing bugs like grabbing through pallets or walls from there. Leave Sky Wesker in the game as this change in particular did not only remove a fun goofy mechanic, but ruined his power fundamentally - this is what causes Wesker to stop mid-dash because there is a minor pebble or root on the floor. This makes his power go to waste and it feels like getting robbed in game. It's not fun! We're not complaining about losing games, it feels like the game itself robs Wesker players from hits, grabs and chain-bounds.

  • True! Everything of this! Bhvr please start listening to your community and give us old Wesker back!

  • I sign this, 100%. Wesker is my main and he keeps getting worse and shadownerfs hit him like every patch now since 9.5 - just revert him atp! We want our killer back, not a fancy redesign!

  • I agree with number 3, some maps spawn like every filler pallet rn every other match, that's a bug since February, many people brought that up, but the devs don't care. Instead they give another perk for resetting a dropped pallet which doesn't even cause exhaustion although it gives haste like Lithe.

For number 4, I think killers should have the option to abandon in endgame when no ones been hooked/downed for a while and the team just stands in the exit gate to BM and hold the match hostage. Honestly, if I've lost, I wanna go next and I don't need them gloating over their win in my face or waiting out the timer if I don't go the exit. If a survivor can abandon without penalty to not have to see a ten second mori, why can't killers abandon if the team is holding the match hostage?

  • "Endurance off oh hook should go back to 10 seconds. 15 seconds is too much, especially in end-game." —> This! In endgame. 15 seconds is too much, when a surv can cross the whole map and run out of the gate with no downside. 10 seconds in endgame would be enough.

Also I registered, if the killer goes back to interrupt an unhook, auto-aim nearly always hits the unhooked survivor instead of the unhooker I want to hit, which is really unfortunate, because usually I want to go for the unhooker in that situation, but now I have an easy target to tunnel, instead of wasting time for a longer chase with a healthy survivor.

I just wanted to insert a YouTube video made by the creator SaltNest, describing how the changes affect advanced Wesker players and to spread awareness. The video is not mine and if the original creator wants me to delete this, I will do so.

  • Fully agree! If you can't rework the changes in time for the update, so he doesn't feel clunky to play and keeps things like input buffering and the possibility to rebound, don't change him at all. He's balanced, this would be a huge nerf, even to players who don't use his more advanced techs.
