I agree!
There is is currently a topic being discussed in relation to what you just stated too. It’s in Balance Feedback.

I'm disgusted by these people trying to argue facecamping is a valid strategy or ebony mori-spamming is a valid strategy, you realize nobody would play this game if every game was just a bubba facecamping right? Camping is as strategic as headbutting in a boxing match or trying to break someones ankles in a soccer match stop justifying it just because it's "strategic" on some level or it's not bannable.
With that said hiding names only stops targeted facecamping and mori-usage which honestly if you have a problem with that and your best arguments are "well maybe you deserve it" then I think I know why you have a problem with such a change.
Well said! I think this change will make the game simply more about the game. Keeping it hidden but still available at the end screen will keep the in-game experience mutual.

So please spell it out. Are you ok with punishing killer player for mistakes of the survivor player?
Seriously… I do not believe that people will remember your name and "take revenge" on you, just for finding Ruin or taking the hatch… you have to play like a douche to make them remember you.
How many times you gonna ask the same thing? You are clearly against the idea, we get it. What else is there to say? Clearly by the upvotes on my post, others agree. I’m not discounting your opinion but stop forcing yours onto me.

Removing the survivors name from the killers view, let’s say maybe just in the lobby but can see it in game, is not a punishment. As this change isn’t unwarranted, there is actually issues between killer and survivor toxicity. This is just a small idea to help smooth it out. Like I said, nothing about this idea is finalized. I’ll let you and @Entità dish it out. I’ll just sit back and watch.

Recaping: survivor want their name removed from the match, arguing that the killers are toxic to them, and use their names to execute revenge and arguing that since the killer's name is removed, is only fair that the survivor name must be hidden too!
My stand is removing the survivor's name serve no purpose other than punishing killers, since the reason behind removing killer's name was punishing survivors for abusing their privilege! toxic killers aren't in enough numbers to justifie to do so!
personally if the devs were to remove ths survivors name it wouln't affect me at all since I don't waste time profile sniping the survivors in the lobbies or holding grudge against them post game, if someone did something I consider is against the rules, I report them in-game and I forget about the whole incident after that!
But considering a killer to be toxic for camping or tunnelig is a fallacy, considering that a killer must play in away that gives fun to the survivors is another fallacy! and using both fallacies as argument to remove the survivors names is, by my personal stand, wrong and biased!
Yes toxic player are in both sides, but the numbers of toxic survivor is 4 times higher than the toxic killers, the removal of the killer's names but not the survivor's is the proof!
Nice message and well said! I agree with some points. Just to clarify this post wasn’t intended to punish anyone and obviously my idea isn’t final, it can still be adjusted and tweaked to be polished into a fair state. The examples I gave were nothing more than examples I don’t wish them to be banned or punished. I only suggested this as a “possible” solution to what some people, like console, encounter on the daily and at red ranks. :)

@Wolf74 said:
Why do you want the killer player being punished for things the survivor player did?
I think you need to stop assuming what everyone’s intentions are. I asked you to confirm your stance on the topic, that’s it.

@[Deleted User] said:
@Entità two logical fallacies in a single post: the injustices committed by some survivors against you do not justify those of some killers against other survivors (tu quoque)
Nor your experience with SOME toxic killers (who happen to be a minority in the entire playerbase) justify to hide survivors names(punishing killers), since the instance where the killer holds a grudge against a survivor and execute "revenge" isn't even as significative or high as the opposite!
@Entità I've never talked about bannable offences, but to ruin the adversary's game experience (straw man).
What you consider ruining the adversary's game experience, the rest of us, including the devs, consider tactics who the opposite side use to complete their own objetives in game
Let me show you a clip of a dev who camped
https://clips.twitch.tv/ObservantCarefulButterflyBlargNaut
The objetive of putting the list of (un)bannables ofensses is that you realice (via a devs post) that neiter camping or tunneling punishabel actions or even against the rules, quite the opposite, the devs in several strems and post endorse said tactics since the very release of the game
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEaFKY3opY0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=57&v=SS3DvvOQI04
Tunneling is the same
Of course camping or tunneling isn't fun for my adversaries as looping and gen rushing isn't fun for me, but at the end of the day both are endorsed, whitin the rules tactics, and personally I never ever asked to the dev a single time, to punish my opponents for tactics I'm weak against, like the one shot down hillbillies or the insta down huntress's hatchets
Personally I think people who ask for punish the other side of the players for their game style, are people who cannot adapt or learn to the mechanics of the game, and I think so because tru the 2 years I been playing the game, I already learned how to cope with camping, tunneling, looping, and gen rushing, sometimes I win sometimes I lose! and after a specifically frustrating match, I close the game and go to play age of the empires II
Maybe you could be more confortable playing other kinds of games, where your opponent dont do things that triggers your rage or compels you to ask for punishments! maybe CIV 5!

"By your own logic, this is punishing killers for something survivors did."
That's the usual survivorlogic.
Survivor do unsafe unhooks? Punish the killer.
Give them free exhaustion relief, invu frames, BT, DS... everything to cover up that it is the survivor who made a bad play.
It's always punish the killer for things suvivor did.
Just so we can stay close to the topic..... You’re both saying that you disagree with taking away survivors names from the killers view? And your reason being is that survivors are toxic and by doing this it is punishing the killers, correct? Or am I misunderstanding what exactly your point is?
-
Yeah.... I don’t think he’s saying anyone should be punished. It’s just obvious that the idea of seeing people’s names does affect play quite often, whether you notice it or not.
A good example could be.... Let’s say I’m going against a good red rank killer, that I and many others know. This killer also knows you and has played you before. Just because they can simply see your name in their lobby they can already guess what perks you might be running, knows that you try to 360 so they respect it, doesn’t respect pallets specifically against you because they know you keep running etc.
I think transitioning the game in this direction of “RNG” in a sense would make it more enjoyable and eliminate some toxicity by keeping it anonymous, hopefully.

Hey bro I think you make a very good point. This is a change I would love to see as a survivor. Others make a good point about reporting, Maybe you just need at the end to have the survivors character name next to their names at the end. Tbh I think having their names in game would be okay. I think it is just pre game that is the issue when they can make your build to kill one specific person. I think the killer should only see the physical person and then when the game starts they can see the name. This I think is the best middle ground so killers can report cheating as in game they can see their names. Survivors should be able to see each others games because it is a team game after all. I see a lot of dudes I know and we have a good community together.
I think its a good idea bro.
I agree, you bring up good points. I can see a lot of different variations of this idea working.
-
@Nicholas said:
I 100% agree with this. As far as reporting, you could still view the names at the end. If the issue is you wish to report after you are killed but before the match ends, you can still do so without seeing the names. This is how some games are.
At Rank 1 on PS4, I run into the same few killers every night. Sometimes even multiple times in a row and some start dodging or simply camping/tunneling you. Not fun at all. I was the last one, no gens completed but managed to easily complete two and find the hatch thanks to OoO, Sole Survivor and that perk for bonus repair speed if you're the last one. I got some nasty hate mail over it and that night ran into him twice, got tunneled asap and camped. Lost two pips.
Yes! I think this situation has happened to all of us.

I agree with you. Obviously my idea is not polished so, additional things will be needed such as making sure people can still be reported accurately. Other things could be preference like, more people would rather see survivors names in game but they agree with the killer not seeing there’s. Everything about this idea is just a conversation starter and can be tweaked. :)
-
Yessss, please fix the map RNG. I play the same select few maps all day long. 😩 The only way to fix it is to offer maps and I think that shouldn’t be needed.
-
I like all the points and I think everyone is valid. I don’t think anyone should be forced to play anything but, I feel like when you decide to play the game in general you shouldn’t be influenced to leave based off who you’re playing and I feel like leaving everything anonymous might make it a bit equal. We haven’t experienced this change and maybe never will but, I think it could result in more “fair” gameplay in most situations.

@Entità "The idea only a side could abuse such a knowledge is so biased that it shouldn't ever exist"
Is not biased if said abuse is a fact! let me share a 10 excerpts from the steams forums
1-"I just wanna know if the guy is on my blocklist or not? I block some other player for something i dont like about him, its my choice right?"
2-"Is there a way to block a person so you don't get matched with them?"
3-"I'm tired of getting killers who I've blocked because of their negative attitudes. I've also been getting killers I block because of their bad connection"
4-"So, shouldn't camping killers get at least something?! Maybe pinning a blacklist will help?"
5-"If you don't let us see the killer's name, give us a blacklist ability"
6-"Originally posted by *******: And then everyone who beats you will get blocked.
whats your problem with that?"
7-"Is it allowed to code an 3th Programm that will tell you if a Killer (or a Player) is on an global Blacklist for lets say Camping (Killer) or Trolling (Survivor)?"
8-"survivors are still blacklisting killers who kill them
so precious
^_^"
9-"How to blacklist freddy from the search?
Seriously am tired of this killer, Every match he pops up and i want a more diverse set of killers instead of just playing against one."
10-MLGA was introduced to give survivors a chance to see the killers ping. This seems legit, since there was no indicator back then. Then things like blacklisting people for this and that had been added and at the end, people would blacklist the killer if he used OP Freddy.
Just rember for every 1 biased killer existing, there are 4 biased survivors who exist too!
So... I understand your point but this doesn’t help the discussion. Or more so I should ask, what exactly is your stance on this topic? This point kinda seemed like you were trying to say killers and survivors are equally toxic to each other.

@Entità This is not a "killers vs. survivors" thing. It's a "normal players don't want to deal with people who are ruining the match" thing. A normal, skilled survivor doesn't have problems finding matches.
For platforms like console, specifically Xbox, we have a lot of problems finding matches when you’re red ranks and people know you. Doesn’t mean they know you for doing something bad, they just simply could know you for being good. Or when they chased you they were having a hard time, this relates back to the bad ranking system DBD has as well.

No thanks, aside from other methods of seeing who your playing with, there are plenty of people I have no interest in playing alongside or against based on their behavior.

I disagree. I play a lot of solo surv and I don't want to play with teammates who I know are going to dc early or killing themselves on the first hook or farm their mates.
The same applies to the killer's perspective. Survivors who are dc'ing also ruin the match for a lot of killers.
Sounds like a game issue, they need to enforce a harder policy on banning these people if you’re reporting them. But I understand where you’re coming from.

You can always see the players you are currently playing with via the steam platform (not sure about consoles).
if you dont enable me to see lobby names in the lobby, then i will dodge them ingame (i.e. hard DC) if they are "known" to me.
On console you can’t see who the killer is until after 5 minutes of playing the game but, survivor is always visible.

Possibly adding a number system? Like make each person 1-4 instead of names and at end screen the number matches their name and what character they were playing. I’m sure something can be sorted out.

You just want to press a button to activate sprint burst? That would be way too powerful and unbalanced. There is a reason why Lithe and Balanced Landing have a condition for the burst to activate. You can't compare the burst effect to the small dash you get from Dead Hard. These are two different worlds. On top, you have to be already injured in order to use DH.
It would literally do the exact thing it already does, the only difference is it allows you to control it. That is a major difference. Dead Hard requires the surv to be injured and allows him to gain only a few meters. To randomly Sprint Burst away to safety, not only a few meters, whenever the survivor wants to - that doesn't require skill. I suggest that you play killer for a while so that you can get a better feeling for what is balanced and what would be broken.
I’ve been playing the game for more than a year since it came out on console my knowledge of the game is perfectly fine. It’s more so the people who are clueless on how to counter abilities and would rather it be easy than learn to adapt. Out of curiousity: How would you counter your buffed version of Sprint Burst? You told us the counter to DH (wait it out).
This thread isn’t about countering it but it’s typical gameplay and like any other change people learn new things and adapt.
This thread is about your suggestion how Sprint Burst should be changed and whether this would be balanced. If we want to talk about whether your Sprint Burst would be balanced, we have to talk about counterplay.
If you don't want to talk about counterplay, you don't want to talk about this perk's balance. And then the question would remain: Why don't you want to talk about it?
Sprint Burst is Sprint Burst it’s not that difficult. You can fake rev chainsaw let them use it then chainsaw them again. Like lmao? There’s no one answer but it’s kinda funny that you and your groupies are all trying to gang up on me. 💀😂 -

I just imagine all these people who call perks powerful and OP to be the same people who camp and tunnel unhooks and play the game not optimally. Through every stage of this game every killer and survivor has adapted to what it had to offer and at every stage there was good survivors and good killers. The only reason changes (nerfs) come is because the lower ranks can’t adapt or become good, the skill gap in this game is distinct.Skarkio said:Unfortunately for you, and fortunately for the rest of us, the devs has stated in the streams they never will do that, because SP is already so powerful as it is, so doesn't matter how much you ask or wish for it, never will happen, and personally I'm glad for that!

Not in the sense of needing to be injured but in the sense of needing to press a button to activate it. It allows for more strategic gameplay and activating it at vital points when you actually need it.
The issue with current Sprint Burst is that you’re forced to use it because it is combined with your running option. It would be better to be able to run normally and then be able to press “A” on Xbox for example to activate it. This would help to make using Sprint Burst a little more competitive, kind of like how killers never really know if you have Dead Hard till you use it.
NOTE - Just to be clear you should NOT have to be injured to activate it. The only change is adding an activate button in general but can use it at any health state no matter if injured or healed.
This has been considered by the devs in the beginning but was deemed too OP

Just make it so that you get a burst at the beginning of every sprint, and it will be balanced and competitive. Pig and Wraith don't have to wait for some "exhaustion" to get their respective speed-ups.
Killers are supposed to be more powerful. Regardless, Pig is slowed when crouching and slowed even further when she charges the ambush. Wraith is slowed while cloaking and uncloaking. Both their powers have long activation times, relative to Sprint Burst's.

That’s currently how Sprint Burst is. It definitely needs a cool down/exhausation though. You could easily abuse it. This topic is in relevance to a change/edit to its current state.BillyIII said:@NoShinyPony said:

That’s not strategic, that’s just game knowledge. It doesn’t take skill to use the run option and 99% of the time you’re forced to run if you plan on making it to a pallet and 99% of the time you wished you didn’t use your Sprint Burst to get there. And you don’t “have it whenever you wanted” it’s still a one-time use and then you’re exhausated but when you decide to use it and how by pressing a button, that’s strategic.Orion said:What's actually strategic is the fact that you need to know when to conserve your Sprint Burst and when to use it (by sprinting). You need to think if sprinting is worth it at any given moment, because you might not have time for the Exhaustion to expire before you need to use Sprint Burst again. It adds a layer of complexity to the perk.
Having it be on activation would take away any and all risk assessment necessary for the perk. It'd make the perk less strategic because you'd just have it whenever you wanted. -
I know some are incompetant (like you) so let me further explain. Sprint Burst gives you a burst of speed for a short period of time. This would still be the case in the new Sprint Burst. The only difference is being able to control when you’re using it. Everyone is quick to call something OP, but rather it is more competitive in a game. I know some survivors/killers (like you) are probably at the baby rank and don’t quite comprehend the idea but others of us quite like the idea of this change. It adds more strategy to the game rather than a simple run and activate when you’d rather save it.Orion said:@Telli_Fury said:

Lmao, what? It’s exactly the same thing the only thing that changes is how you activate it. Sprint Burst isn’t broken at all. This response is rather hysterical.Blueberry said:First, that would just make it a better Dead Hard.
Secondly, if ANYTHING Sprint Burst should be nerfed, not buffed. It is already insanely strong and your change would make it completely broken.

I’m gonna add this to the original post since this is a great point.Oooooof said:I agree. And the survivor also use a perk slot just for recovering while running. I think its pretty fair.

Correct. But Vigil before was used to help you get exhausation back even faster. Now Vigil will just allow you to get exhausation back period. At a normal rate and it takes up a perk slot allowing for a bit of a balance.Lagoni said:@Telli_Fury said:
Current Vigil - Used to help allies affected by exhaustion and other status effects etc.New Vigil #1 - Change vigil to allow people who run it to get their exhaustion back even if they are running. This can be tweaked to allow it to come back slower for example 80 seconds rather than 60 seconds. Or just allow it to come back normal 60 seconds.
You could also do something like Vigil only activates when you’re in chase allowing for exhausation to go down but if chase music ends you do not get Vigil.
New Vigil #2 - Allow Vigil to work like leader allowing your teammates to recover from exhausation even if they or you are running. And when out of radius let it continue taking affecting on teammate survivor for x amount of time. Same time differences can be applied like above 60 or 80.
Vigil would be greatly used and I think for those who experience a great deal of tunneling you deserve your exhausation back especially if you’re being chased for long periods of time.
Vigil was hit hard with the exhaustion update making it a bit useless, so a rework is in order.
However, exhaustion perks were nerfed BECAUSE it was too powerful to recover while running. -
It’s not necessarily OP. Like stated above by another user, you’re using up a perk slot just to get exhausation back. That’s pretty fair.Bravo0413 said:
Ofcourse while running its more useful... because then it comes back mid chase which is too strong because looping is too easy to do... players would easily throw away UE or UB to run this perk because they would have old exhaustion back... vigil should get a larger radius to apply the effect and maybe increase the numbers a bit... but in no way should it apply while runningTelli_Fury said:
I think a lot of players don’t really care for the not running exhausation coming back. Making exhausation come back while running is way more useful.Milo said:I wonder if they increased the % to like 40% would that be too good?
Tier 3 exhaustion would come back in 24 seconds IF NOT RUNNING

I agree with this idea as well. To be honest I’m fine with anything as long as it results in getting exhausation back.Luigifan64 said:Here is the easiest solution to this dilemma that I have been suggesting for a long time now, all the perks stats stay the same, EXCEPT that you have the ability to regain exhaustion while running (with the added 25% decrease and the sharing of the ability with friends). It would make the perk viable again and there are so many good perks for survivor now that it wouldn't trump everything else, plus you'd be sacrificing a perk slot just to regain that ability.
A little off topic, but I think No Mither should also allow you to regain exhaustion while running (without the percent increase) because of its one hit and your dead nature. I know its supposed to be a challenge perk, but it would still be a challenge if this change was implemented; NM was made harder to play with when the exhaustion nerf happened if anything, so reverting the one stat wouldn't be that big of a deal.
