Why so?

You use a 360 controller on PC? Ive not heard of PC having fps drops, maybe its your PC, ive heard from other people that you need a pretty good PC to run the game smoothly though im not too sure since i havent played on that platform (i know you didnt mention bad fps but you are saying the ping is sometimes incorrect and your character twitches when you use the controller, im just assuming)
-
Yeah console fps is bad for some reason, hopefully it will be fixed as ive seen a lot of complaints, i think 360 is worse than ps4 since i dont actually have that bad of fps drops when i play survivor, seems that killer has worse fps drops due to notifications and the such, though console fps is still disgraceful and needs to be fixed.
Also survivors never look human, i think the most human looking thing in the game is legion or huntress, dbd model artists or whoever made the survivors either wanted the survivors to look unique or they are just ######### and dont know what humans look like, most of the females look like they are wearing diapers, the males have super long bodies and survivors necks are disgusting xD

To play devil's advocate:- If you have to manually place your totems, that means that Hex: Ruin wouldn't be active at the start of the round. All four survivors are naturally going to go straight to the first generator they see (they have no reason not to). Meanwhile, you'll be left running around trying to find a good spot for you totem. Before you can even put it down, generators are going to be popping off left and right.
- You could cheese it by putting your totems in narrow spaces or dead end areas and blocking it in with other totems or traps (if you're playing a trapping killer). I could put devour hope behind TOTH, behind Ruin, and then behind Haunted Ground. In order for someone to cleanse my devour hope, they would have to cleanse totems for a total of 85.5 seconds- longer than solo generator- and every time they touch all but the last totem, I receive a notification telling me exactly where they are. You can imagine how that might cause problems when I'm instantly downing them with devour hope.
- I could also just play hag and stick my totems in the basement with traps leading all the way out. If someone wants to cleanse them, they'd have to crouch all the way down the stairs. Good luck if you didn't bring Urban Evasion. Combine with TOTH and they've got no chance.
- If you do not pick the totem position but instead only get your choice of which pre-positioned dull totem to light, you are still at the mercy of RNG. If you've got two or three hill tiles, each with a totem, one outside the shack and one next to a generator, your totems are still going to stick out like a sore thumb no matter where you choose to place them. I've seen that exact scenario a couple times. In that case, you end up with the same problem except you lose a bunch of time lighting totems.
I feel like totem spawning just needs a good lookin' at. There needs to be far more so they're less predictable and harder to memorize the potential spawns, and there needs to be additional rules so they don't appear in obvious locations (cannot spawn in LOS of a generator that is less that X meters away, for example). If the killer has to place them manually, they lose a ton of time which offsets the benefit of the perk.
I can see what you mean about it wasting time for the killer but if you get an aura of all dull totems at the start of a match, i doubt you will be walking to one for 80+ seconds to go and light one, assuming the the devs wont make it longer than a second to light it it shouldnt be too bad. And in turn of you wasting a couple of seconds to light a totem in a decent spot, survivors have to spend longer looking for it as they dont simply see the auras, but the problem with that is they'd just try and follow the killer at the start of a match, thats why i feel the second suggestion i had may be a little better.
With the second suggestion sure you can get unlucky with a totem being right next to a gen and it so happens to be a hex, but atleast that was complete luck and theyd have no idea what the totem was before they cleansed it, now imagine if that wasnt a hex, they just wasted a couple of seconds doing basically nothing, and itd actually make dull totems have value to cleanse other than preventing a NOED, right now i never see a point in cleansing totems unless theyre lit, it just wastes time. so if hex totems were dull too then itd be gambling for the survivors as they could be cleansing a haunted grounds hex and take 1 minute being more cautious. I think its just better totems arent lit so survivors get less info, they already have enough, they can even bring maps or use certain perks if they so want to. Also im sure thatd be very easy to program so the devs cant be lazy or have excuses if everyone is asking for it. Though either way the spawns really need to change and i still dont know why they havent already been changed

@Vietfox if you read the sentence after the "rank doesnt matter" youll see that i said "it tells me youve actually put time into the game" just confirming that you werent a newb before responding to you, but now i know that nothing you say is really credible or useful so ill just ignore you for now

-
@mrmyers "properly"
-
@Vietfox Youve taken those pictures before? your bloodpoint and iridescent shards are different in both pictures so i dont know if thats your rank now but you have been rank 1 which is interesting.
Though you said you "can get good results" which yeah, everyone "can" but its not really about your skill, its if the survivors want to play fairly, if a gen isnt done in 2 minutes of your match then you know that the survivors arent good or arent trying to escape.
Tbh your rank doesnt prove much, it just tells me youve actually put time in the game. Getting to rank 1 isnt hard if you tunnel and camp properly. That fact alone is problematic to me as its unfun gameplay for the survivors to be camped and tunneled which you might have done.
This discussion isnt about skill really, his complaints where about he was forced to camp to safely get a pip, and that gens had an affect on if he got more than 1 kill or not.
These are real problems that make the game unfun. Hag has a low skill cap as do most of the killers so even if you play optimally as hag, a tryhard swf group will almost always leave you in the dust. SURE you can do good and you might play optimally quite a lot, but im sure its the survivors fault if they let you get more than 2 kills, and its not about how you did so amazingly.
Dont tell him to get good without addressing why the problem isnt a problem, gens can be done in less than 5 mins, but if you play optimally and so do the survivors itl probs be done in sround 8 minutes, which still isnt enough time for you to get a 4 man on a good swf team so theres your proof, dbd isnt a game full of much skill, its a casual game with mechanical problems that dont work properly for the competitive side.
Im at rank 1 and mainly play nurse if you wanted to know, im quite competitive so i know skill caps in games, dont try prove me wrong as itl go nowhere, and thats not what this discussion is about.
-
@Vietfox why are you bringing my 'skills' into conversation. You are being toxic, what rank are you? Id like to know just for credibility
-
Hooks need fixing/a rework, and so do gens. The devs just keep changing the chase instead. The devs need fixing first, nevermind the game xD
also @rhox32592 how tf do you "wreck" as freddy x) im just gonna assume you are rank 8+ cz red ranks usually ######### on freddies.
and @Vietfox dont post useless ######### that has no value, killer's skill doesnt determine a win in this game, unless you play nurse.
-
I belive that the thing that makes Nurse 'hard' and fun is the reliant on her ability, making her like every other killer that has an ability but can walk too will not make her as hard or fun, and tbh the hours needed to get to an 'op' nurse skill level shouldnt be punished because people get destroyed by it.
Personally i think 2 blinks should stay as her base, and adding extra blink add ons to me is kinda dumb and extra blinks is probably one of her worst add ons since you shouldnt be missing with 2 blinks anyway, and if you miss all 5 blinks you got a long ass fatigue time and the killer's meta is map control and time management, 5 blinks is a waste of time and i doubt youd even get to the 5th before hitting.
I think nurse is fine now and some areas are broken to blink through. Survivors playstyle against the nurse should change. Rather than a nurse rework think of something that can buff survivors against her but not nerf every other killer. Nurse is the only viable killer against swf, maybe billy too, there shouldnt be a nerf to the only thing that doesnt get a killer bullied.
-
Lots of people are saying it because theyre jerks? Well personally i do it when the survivor isnt attempting escape or is still struggling since theyre just wasting time, the survivors are the jerks if they are trying to get a tiny bit of extra struggle points
-
What if the killer doesnt close the hatch tho ;P I dont think this is the best way to fix the hatch
-
Sounds like a decent idea though people wont always be happy about perks being restricted, and devs probably will not add it as a nerf to survivors is apparently a dumb idea to them it seems, and it might be quite hard to implement, though im no coder so i dunno
-
@jmaximo93 Also i dont think DS and SC are too op, i do think DS can be a problem but self care i dont mind, and nurse counters DS hard since she just blinks and downs them again, but if you dont play nurse then yeah DS can be brutally time wasting. I think they should fix the base of the game before experimimenting or changing perks.
But dont worry they like to prioritise the worst things first, DS is being reworked and SC is possibly being nerfed id say quite hard, i hope they dont make it too bad since its not too game changing imo.
-
@Mister_xD Actually best outcome for a killer is 4 iridescents and a 2 pip, 4 mans dont always mean you get that ;P
-
@jmaximo93 I dont like tyde lol, and im not exactly exaggerating, infact i randomly clicked on truetalent as killer vids and recorded the times from survivor found to when they got hook and i got 1:21, 30, 48, 1:24, 2:05 then i decided to try record him as a survivor instead and i got 22 and 1:54 then i gave up looking for more results because it has been like half an hour of me trying to find him actually get hooked xD, he escapes a lot of the chases which wastes time for the killer and the killer doesnt even get a hook. Also true is a really good killer and i believe he only posts good matches on youtube too so he isnt 3/4 manning every match i dont think.
And Im not trying "exaggerate" im pointing out as close to fact as i can, if you work out the mean of those numbers its actually 1:29 which is quite close to 1:30 SO MAYBE IT IS AN "OVERSTATEMENT" but only by a second -.- and tbh i should exaggerate as not everyone truly understands how underpowered killer is. Even just 30 sec x 12 hooks is 6 minutes , that isnt counting the time it takes to look for a survivor, nor the time wasted kicking gens, nor the possibility of them escaping the chase, im just assuming after every hook you are straight into another chase. A 30 seconds hook is quite a short chase too, and isnt average according to my crazy maths, though it still gets you plenty of time for gens to all be done, its just not all solo survivors are smart, most survivors for some reason dont do gens and instead mess around t-bagging the killer or getting totems and whatever, this is the only reason gens arent 'always' done so fast, a lot of people dont try hard as a survivor. Its more of a chill gameplay unless you are being tunnelled and camped.
In my swf duos or sometimes more people I never lose unless the other solo survivors get themselves killed and barely do anything, or killer camps and tunnels me though we still win as i can distract the killer long enough for gens to be done and the rest to escape. Only reason i win/escape so easily is because i try to play optimally and remind my friends on what they should be doing, not many survivors i know do, i see a lot of solo queue survs running around and cleansing useless totems or opening chests or simply not doing anything beneficial, i feel that is why the gens being done in less than 4 mins is rarely seen in solo's, people just arent on gens enough or they go on gens the killer is near and find themselves hiding a lot more rather than staying on a gen until its complete.
Dont tell me to quit exaggerating when there is facts to back up what I say, and the message was told, doesnt matter how i said it, the info of survivor objectives being done a lot faster than killer's is now known. saying its a "ridiculous overstatement" is ridiculous, and chases arent the only way time is wasted for killer so bare that in mind.
Im not Tyde x) im just a sweaty little tryhard at everygame and know way too much info than needed, which is why im complaining, if this game had a pro league, no killer would win, well maybe a god nurse might but sweaty survivors almost always beat sweaty killers. I guess 4 people produce more sweat than 1 big fella... i dont know where im going with this ill just end it here o.0
(I wrote this at 2 am and have not read it back so dont murder me if i said something wrong or made a mistake ok? thank you bye bye)
-
lazy cucks probably dont even know how to read, either way idgaf i just wanted to spit all that onto something, that essay/novel of text is me just letting it all out x)
-
@fcc2014 "Doing the objective as quckly as possible is not gen rushing" Thats literally the definition... what do you mean o.0 Its like a when you wake up late and youve got a meeting and have to rush and complete your objective of getting to it on time as fast as possible, gen rushing is doing all the generators as quickly and effectively as possible. Literally the same concept.
I also dont agree with the extra xp or bp for doing a certain thing as i dont care bout xp or bp, and old players may have too much of the stuff, also that would mean survivors get more than killer which uhm no.
Though I believe we are on the right lines of the survivors objective being done considerably faster than killer's is unfair. There are so many different ways to go about it though so I dont think everyone will want to agree on one thing, we should just let the oblivious devs know that the survivors objective is too fast and needs something to slow it down or make it a bit harder but not tedious.
The devs can decide however their twisted minds want to go about it after its been complained enough about. Though i dont think they care about the killer community for some random reason they discriminate them and focus on making survivors gameplay as easy as they can, they prioritise the wrong things and thats what has dragged this game into a deep endless hole. I just hope theres something extraordinary at the bottom of the hole.

I disagree. I think multiple survivors on one gen is the problem. When they're all on gens separately I have a much better chance of finding one of them and then, as the chase ensues, I have a better chance of disrupting other survivors working on gens.i almost never stop working on a gen because the killer is chasing someone near me (unless they run the killer into me)
And that's the issue with survivor mains
If they got SB, they can just do gens non stop =\Riiiiight. "Mains"...
Because no one who's playing both sides uses as as well.
Are you a crybaby killer "main" by any chance?
Lul this is so dumb...Irrelevent comment that helps nobody and is off topic stop trying to make a toxic conversation that is uneeded, we should instead talk about what ideas we have to counter or stop genrush or at least make it more managable. Otherwise this discussion is just a place to complain that contains useless info and wont going anywhere.
Anyway yeah the gen times compared to chase and kill times are very unbalanced, devs need to sort this out or survivors are gonna stay as the power role, when really the killer is meant to be.. I think secondary objectives or things to prevent such fast gen pops should be implemented, even cooldowns or whatever other tasks that can stop gates opening in less than 4 minutes, (because thats a thing) sound like good additions. I feel killers only really get kills in high ranks if survivors make dumb mistakes, are way too slow to do gens or are way too alturistic or toxic and get themselves killed... Or if the killer is a god Nurse :P
Its quite stupid how Nurse and Hillbilly are usually the only viable killers against good swf groups. Hope this gets fixed and becomes more fun for everyone -
This is basically buffing survivors again, theyve had enough icing on their cake man, the hook amounts are fine, it takes forever to get a kill as it is, no need to make the hooking process an uncertain task in which survivors can wiggle free more times, and when you use a hook it vanishes too so a survivor could crawl to a safe area where there arent hooks for miles, and the killer couldnt do anything but bleed them out. i feel like this survivor/killer community could be compared to females and males, survivors being the females, (not saying they are female just comparing) where if you hit them, theres all this controversy and most girls start crying and screaming for the men to go to jail or in dbd terms "nerf the killer more" and the females can keep hitting the males and apparently thats not prison worthy or in dbd terms "nerf worthy" etc. ill stop now x)
-
Nerf Billy and Nurse? xD thats ridiculous @BigBang stop crying about how you die and think its the killer being op, im sure you are either bad/dumb and get yourself killed all the time or you only remember the negative experiences of playing survivor. Dont post on the forums if you are feeding the community bullshi because some less experienced people may believe what you are saying and continue the loop of crying survivor mains, which will end up straight up breaking the point of the game. Also no matter if you are a god Nurse or Billy, if you verse a swf group that play optimally you may only get 1 kill which you had to camp just to secure it since the gates could be open in less than 5 minutes (without toolboxes that is) ;^)
-
I think clown is fine tbh, he can still get destroyed by survivors who know what they are doing so hes not overpowered, and i think if he got a speed nerf it wont change too much so there wont even be a point unless it was like 10% less speed, but that might be too extreme and make clown less fun to play since he will be too slow to end chases, i think hes at a balanced speed right now. i dont really think any killer should be nerfed since survivors are quite op as it is and nobody is doing much about that. Arent the killers meant to be op anyway? isnt that the point of taking the power role in this asymmetric game? i think somehow survivors have complained enough to the point where they are the power role now :^)
-
If killer camps hatch and they dont have a one shot ability just bait and/or take a hit then jump in, so they cant grab you out of the animation, its safer for them to hit you as they have to clean their weapon and you wont have to worry about unrelenting,
If you are the killer, you can pretend you dont see anything and just patrol around but not too far and wait until they run for the jump in then just grab them out the animation, the hatch standoff is easy for both sides, as survivor even if you are injured you can still take a hit then crawl and jump in if you are close enough, getting gens is uneeded
-
Even got 16 LOL's on your post, this is a meme discussion just close it
-
Hes not replied for 5 days theres no point to continously comment, he obviously isnt being serious he plays killer for a couple of games at low ranks and claims killer is op. When really at that rank survivors dont even know what totems are yet, hes just another bad survivor main.
You think survivors are being nerfed to the ground. I think you are taking some strong ass drugs kid.
-
Faster movement speed for 10-20 seconds wont really stop camping, people would just go look around for that time then come straight back, i think people either camp because they are mad at the player or dont think they can get another kill before all gens are done, i think gens should be fixed before camping as all gens can be done in less than 4 minutes right now.
I dont really think camping is too much of a problem really, since all the other survivors should just focus gens then escape, sure its really frustrating for the survivor, but if the killer only kills one person by camping and everyone focusing on gens just escapes the killer will probably lose a pip or barely get one or non so the killer already gets punished for camping straight off the bat since it costs them gens.
I think the way to fix camping would just be increasing the entity progression time, id say for a survivor being hooked first time the sacrifice speed is doubled so 4 minutes to kill, so if they camp straight away theyve basically lost the game because 4 minutes is a long time, though if the survivor is unhooked before the struggle phase, on their next hook its 1 minute to kill like normal.
But thats kinda buffing survivors so id say the devs should fix the genrushing crap then add the idea for 4 minutes on first hook because theres no point buffing survivors without nerfing the gens, devs should prioritise fixing the gens rather than whatever they are doing now, i think on their last q and a they said something bout making endgame faster and making totems harder to see, its like they are oblivious to the balance of the game, i think they mentioned something bout secondary objectives but it was just a crazy idea and may not be added or something. Dont quote me on that.
-
Zaije can you explain how it promotes camping in more detail, as i think it would still be more detrimental to camp when you can go to other gens knowing that you have 30 seconds to do something else but if the killer wants to camp you cant really stop them, though i dont think most killers actually like camping or find it fun, instead i believe that they are forced to when theres like 1 gen left since it would be risky leaving the person on hook to check 3 other gens
Killer mains that i know feel the same way, they dont find it fun to camp. Though i think you are kind of right as 30 seconds is quite a bit of time you could spend waiting for the survivor to go in struggle phase or die, maybe should be reduced to something like 10 seconds or just not add it and instead go with the idea of secondary objectives since im liking that idea more though it still seems unclear how exactly it would work.
-
Asssthetic, i dont think the gates are too bad since the survivors already done the objective, i dont think its right to make it harder for them to get rewarded for completing it, i think the problem lies in how fast completing the objective actually is.
The intent for my idea was to prevent the objective to be completed in less than 4 minutes when survivors play optimally, i dont think the killer should be punished this hard by chasing 1 person.
Though i like the idea of secondary objectives i think it needs to be elaborated on more because its a bit vague on how it would really work, questions arise such as, how many gas cans do you need per gen? is it for every gen? where would the gas cans spawn and how many would be on the map? what happens if you get hooked when you have a can? etc.
And it might get a bit frustrating to look for cans and not find them for a while, killers may also be able to camp them if theres a couple in one area. Though this could actually make the map more useful and may be used regularly so theres that too.
In my opinion i think itd be more fun if it was harder and rare to escape so when you do escape it feels great, rather than escaping being a common occurance and almost guaranteed when you know where hatch is. But i dont know how the devs feel about escaping, seems like they dont want it to be hard whatsoever since they have barely stated anything about making it harder. However they are changing how hatch works which is interesting.
-
Zanfer, it still stops 3 gens being done straight away, and in those 30 seconds you could go to other gens and damage them :v
Shrimp i like your idea of looking for parts as it would actually give you something to do rather than sit on a gen until its complete but i dont know if the devs could be bothered to add it as they seem to be oblivious to the balance and health of the game
