This game has 2 sides to it. Survivor and Killer, the devs WANT you to experience/play BOTH sides. If you choose not to play one side more than the other or just ignore one side overall that's completely up to you, in my opinion, though if you are going to do that you should have absolutely 0 say and your opinion is completely negated when you try to talk about balance or design of the game in any way.
I understand this isn't the main point of the post but in order to fully understand an argument that either player on either side of the games spectrum to reasonably make any suggestions you NEED to have a fair amount of time played on BOTH sides. Killers who don't seem to understand just how unfun/unfair it feels to be tunneled out at 5 gens while your team is crouching in a corner and survivors who don't realize that 16 perks will always be stronger than 4 unless those 4 are significantly stronger and are at a disadvantage in most scenarios in the match are not people we should listen to.
On the topic of the "forced to play" you don't HAVE to play both sides you CHOOSE to if you WANT the rewards. This goes back to my previous statement the devs WANT you to play both sides but they aren't forcing you to. If you choose not to partake of the full game you can't expect to partake of the full rewards

As an Ace main, I agree his kit is mediocre and needs updating. Ace in the Hole only works well if paired with Plunderer's Instinct and Appraisal, or one of the item-specific perks: Residual Manifest, Scavenger, and Pharmacy. Up the Ante feels awkward and clunky, and works no better (in my experience) than a Salt offering.
But Open-Handed kicks butt. Pair it with Kindred for an extended range that benefits all survivors. Pair it with everyone's favorite Windows of Opportunity (though that may be a bit overkill) or even Bond. It even counteracts a killer running Knock Out. Detective's Hunch. Clairvoyance. Plunderer's Instinct. Left Behind. Visionary. Even Wiretap benefits from it. The only negative of this perk is, that if two or more teammates are using it, someone is effectively only running three perks, since Open-Handed doesn't stack.
Unless they made that change recently wiretap doesn't work with open handed. That was one of the first combos a lot of people tried and figured out didn't work

Easy, I still enjoy the game (I have 3,662 hours right now according to my Xbox).
Granted a LOT of my hours were gained when I first started this game (which was February of 2020 and a bit of an even happened that year) but I still pretty regularly play the game. I don't play 3-4 hours a day like I used to but I usually get a hour or two each day pending how I'm feeling.
I started when Oni was new (ish) his intro movie was the one playing when I got the game whenever that was. I get 1-3 games in a day before my drive to touch this game just goes away for the day. There's lots of changes I never agreed with that the devs have done and some I think they still need to do (like nerf/rework Nurse and Blight so they can actually rework perks into being good) but i've always kinda been just like 'eh whatever" about it and have always been pretty ok with the games state for the most part yet still just can't find that drive other people do and I want to since I do like the game it's (in my opinion) one of the more fun games to watch be played (granted Otz is the only person I watch play this game)

I’m not understanding it. Are you saying this hypothetical perk would block gens for a max of 30 seconds (I guess so a killer can’t kick them, but they can still be passively regressed by certain perks) and basically make the survivors who used this perk exposed?
It makes the survivors who use this perk get the metal of man effect so they won't go down after the next hit that would put them into the dying state and last until it's used. It sounds strong and that's what it should be something outlandishly op to make up for the immense amount of group time wasted but not something so insanely busted (it only can be used once per trail and disables it for everyone who has it not just the person who started) that it can't be played around. Spending 100 seconds at minimum in basement doing nothing and risking being downed and hooked there is crazy risky and if nobody is on gens and they are regressing then the killer is winning in that situation BUT survivors all get effectively 3 health states for their next chase which is a massive buff.
Crazy stuff like this is what the game needs. I would've had no problem with old circle of healing for example allowing them to self care in basically 5 seconds (not the original one where you could heal before the killers cd) all BHVR had to do was make it a 1 time use and survivors could've kept their OP boon. BHVR's trying so hard to balance the game around the complaints about it not being competitively friendly and that's why every perk comes out so garbage (as seen in this new chapter)

Yeah pretty much this. The killers I personally hate to go against is Knight, Skull merchant, hag, cenobite, trickster, artist and nurse. My top few favourite killers to verse may be bubba, billy, demo and perhaps huntress?
But honestly at the end of the day play what you find most fun, killers are there to be used, it's bhvr's job to adjust where it needs to be adjusted not players to refrain from playing certain killers because they aren't fun to verse.
Also you don't need to spend those bloodpoints? I always have a use for bloodpoints, if I reach the limit I spend some then continue on gaming until it's max and then repeat.
PS. I completely missed that this was survivor only, I play both pretty equally but I don't think that affects my decision?
They're usually the ones who complain the most is why I was asking lol but I don't mind trying anything.
Also I have all the killer perks unlocked at T3 and all the survivor perks that I own are unlocked on the 3 survivors I play, until the shrine gives me perks I don't own I have nothing to spend them on so i'm just saving up for Chucky so I can immediately get his T3 perks unlocked on everyone (tho his perks are poop imo) Currently holding 3mil BP so if I have nothing to gain I have nothing to lose.
Also also I noticed a lot of people saying Weskuh, I swear everytime I touch Wesker people get unbelievably pissed

If blindness would only affect additional auras from perks, then I might agree with you. But blindness also blocks out basic auras, so ppl on hook or in dying state. And THIS is the main detriment for solo Q. You cannot save someone if you cannot see them. And you cannot communicate with the randoms so they tell you were they are.
Sure UWs blindness is not unlimited like Third Seal, but it still has the potential to block auras for a considerable amount of time, which can be enough for a random team mate to drop into second stage or die, just bc the rescuer does not see the hook aura when they need to.
There is an obnoxiously large bubble that shows you where someone got hooked all you have to do is pay attention. This is my biggest gripe with solo Q and why it doesn't need buffs. People just refuse to actually pay attention to what's happening and expect the game to handhold them the info so they can do less for more reward. The only time i've ever not been able to find someone because of blindness was on RPD and that's because I didn't know the map very well at all at the time. We shouldn't reward people for not paying attention to the game
-
I notice a lot of people talking about how blindness hurts Solo Q. A lot of people seem to be ignoring that auras are a luxury not a necessity and not all survivors are going to do anything with said luxury.
I still have games (with people who have over 2k hours in this game) that still hide in a corner from a killer they can see with kindred. This isn't something you should be rewarded for with more tools to help you, the game should encourage you to actually learn something. I personally don't care if UW loses it's blindness or not I find it absolutely worthless in most situations when I use it or am hit by it since I actually pay attention to what's going on in the game.
Using solo Q as an excuse is dumb and I wish people would realize that no amount of buffs will help solo Q because the players are the problem and you can't take away that issue without removing freedom from the players. The devs can make it so survivors get 5 health states but if my teammates decide to do 5 totems for an archive then die on hook I still have a very good chance at losing the game if the killer slugs us all.
Info in the hands of the stupid people is useless. Info in the hands of smart people is dangerous. If BHVR truly cared about bridging the gap they would have a ranked and casual mode so nonserious casual players aren't ruining the games for sweatlords. The game isn't a competitive Esport though so they don't care.
With that long rant my take is that blindness is still incredibly useless because it only hurts the players that were going to do nothing with the info they were given anyway

What all these comments have really done is compare UW to WoO, which only really solidified my opinion that UW is fine
At the time of this post these are the arguments against it and my counter arguments
Cooldown - 30 (technically 60) seconds and in most cases you're only going to use it after a chase/hook a survivor to find another survivor to start chasing in which case the CD is as long as the chase last. It's impractical to drop chase to use the perk and continue chasing the same person and if you move to someone else then it puts you back at square 1
No real counterplay - Get in a locker if you notice someone scream. Run to a dead area of the map and scream then sneak away so the killer waste time looking for you. As I said in the OP you are going to be chased if you are the first or last survivor who screams in 9/10 uses of the perk UNLESS you're at/near an important objective (totem or pig box) that the killer wants to hard defend.
Too little effort - WOO exist. You put it on and you get map wide info for existing. If this required something to activate for X seconds then went on cd there'd be riots. Nowhere to hide exist as well you kick a gen and get info around you.
Removes stealth - Nowhere to hide exist, it may not last as long as UW but it gives far more accurate information and travels with you. Also if you are a "stealth" player you can run calm spirit something that helps immensely with stealth and makes the perk do nothing against you.
Blindness - You can go 30 seconds without map info hax on every loop. Most of you that run this perk are probably metalords that have over 1k hours in the game. 30 seconds without WOO will not hurt you run vigil if it's such an issue. Otherwise blindness only hurts people who pay absolutely 0 attention to the game.
Too good on top tier killers - So Nurse and Blight are too good with another perk? Almost like the killers themselves are a problem not the perks. Srsly this argument is dumb, Nurse is poorly designed and Blights addons removing any weaknesses he has is dumb.
Another thing people need to take into account this is a 4 v 1 so 16 perks vs 4. Killer perks NEED to be stronger than survivor perks on average in order to be able to compete. The killer knowing a general area of all the survivors locations for a brief moment is fine given there's only 1 killer who can only chase 1 survivor at a time. (Lol knight) The survivors job is to use 16 of perks to form a team to help each other escape the killer who uses 4 of them to stop you. If all 16 perks were on par with the killers then killer would be unplayable
-
I have played plenty of games vs P100 survivors I will go into the game and think they're new based on how poorly they're playing only to find they're P100 and had P2's play better. It really doesn't mean anything except for that you really like that character. DBD seems to be a mental game more than anything, the smallest things will upset/scare people

Bubba has many weaknesses such as windows and lockers. And HUD thing is MUST for soloQ I think.
@[Deleted User] said:
Bubba - "basically has no real counterplay." he has plenty of counterplay.
Adrenaline - "for too little effort" well you have to survive to end game. A lot of the time you get no value from it.
HUD changes- couldn't disagree more. You seem to contradict yourself too. You say it only benefits good players and bad players ignore it but at the same time you say it discourages players to learn and it's "training wheels". But like you mention the Hud doesn't make you a good player. The Hud only tells you what those on comms are able to communicate.
I didn't mean Bubba in general I mean the unhealthy gameplay he can do has no real counterplay. He can still proxy camp very effectively and once a survivor is unhooked there's basically nothing they can do the escape him. Most killers you can trade against and manage hook states to win against bubba you really can't do any of that. A bubba that's out to ruin the game can do it better than pretty much any other killer for basically no effort. Any other insta down killer can only down 1 survivor and has to trade in most cases. I don't think you normal playing Bubba is unfair.
Corrupt punishes you for doing good early and robs you of a snowball if you play really well. I refuse to accept adrenaline rewarding you for doing gens with a free health state and SB ignoring exhaust and working off hook if something like corrupt can't exist how it did it makes no sense to reward doing gens but punish downing survivors this can also be said about perks like NOED, survivors do 5 totems and i'm out of a perk before I can even use it but if I down a hook survivors they still get value out of their adren. Rewards survivors for doing side objectives but punishes the killer for doing main objective. Counterplay should exist on both sides if I down or hook a survivor they shouldn't get adren and it's even worse if everyone has it and you down 3 people then the last one finishes the final gen. I was making a comeback and just lost all my momentum and chance at said comeback because a perk rewarded them for doing down
I personally believe SWF should've just came with slight nerfs to compensate having comms as opposed to solo Q being buffed. If i'm on the hook and everyone is ignoring it because they don't know who is being chased/on a gen/doing nothing etc. that's something that can be avoided with the simple perk kindred (which people STILL ignore btw and will let someone die on hook). If someone needs healing or a protection hit I don't need to know who's in chase I can run empathy and see it for myself. They gave solo Q the tools to be in par with SWF (maybe not as precise due to real time call outs) but people ignored it in order to run the most busted stuff the game had to offer. Anything a SWF can do there are perks to let them do the same and nobody runs them because they aren't busted. That's a player issue not a SWF/Solo issue. Not everyone needs MFT,Adren,Windows,X-exhaustion perk but everyone chooses to do it if that's the risk you want to take fine but we shouldn't reward being lazy/stubborn. (Also for the record I do think survivors should be able to see each others perks in the lobby)

I wish people here start running that as well, so i don't have to hear "actually UW isn't overpowered".
Do explain what's Overpowered about it? It reveals your location with a scream and most likely the killer will go near either the last one to scream or the one closes to the objective they were already heading to. The blindness could be removed and nobody would notice because it's that bad of a status affliction. It only works vs 2 types of people: Those with never pay attention to their team so they end up unable to find people hooked or people that rely HEAVILY on WOO

It's an event. It's supposed to be non competetive.
If all you care about is defending gens and doing objective, then do that. Nobody is going to stop you. I like to play with the event stuff. It's different. Yes I lost games because of it. But.... It was still fun.
ESports dbd shows itself from the worst side during events I feel.
I agree, people get so mad when the devs DON'T add things for "fun" then when they do people complain that it doesn't give them a competitive advantage over the otherside. Like if you want to play a game PURELY for the fact that you want to WIN then go play a competitive game I will never understand why they come to a casual game like DBD then complain something about DBD just mushes peoples brains into paste and render any sort of thinking obsolete.
"BUT LOSING ISN'T FUN ONLY WINNING IS" that's quite literally a phycological issue that stems from a deeper issue, if you CAN'T have fun in both victory AND defeat then that stems from a more personal real life issue that you need to deal

Dude calm down. You come to a forum asking for opinions then when given one that doesn't align with yours, you tell them to just deal with it or leave the community. It's not that deep. Seriously.
How was that me NOT being calm? I could've called you a baby or tell you to get good and you never gave an opinion, you came here and complained about killers slugging for the 4k then got upset when I told you that's not what the post is about then proceeded to complain about killers slugging for the 4k and when I said just accept it or play somethin else you get even more offended? Baffling to me.
@Hex_Ignored said:
Nurse and blight use this perk extremely well. Once you scream, they are basically already next to you.
Pig can force trap kills with this + face the darkness
Unlike other info perks (bbq/lethal pursuer/floods of rage) you can't really hide from it unless you bring the useless perk calm spirit (which STILL has a downside despite being bad). The killer also has full control over the activation of the perk and the cooldown is pretty short considering how good the perk is. It's so baffling how oppression, a much weaker perk, has an 80 second cooldown, but ultimate weapon only needs 30 seconds.
Nurse and Blight need to just stop being used as an excuse to nerf perks and nerf/rework the killers themselves. They make basically every perk in the game seem unfair because their powers are innately unfair. Having the ability to traverse the map so quickly as well as ignore counterplay mechanics put in place are just stupid. The survivors reward in chase for playing well is distance and their powers close that distance basically immediately with very little downside due to addons. If a Nurse/Blight wants to find you without UW they can easily do so with nearly any other info perk. I do agree Oppression needs a buff, I would personally increase it's CD to 100 seconds but allow it to apply any other gen kicking perk to the other 3 generators
@Kius said:
Hilarious arguments did read until I knew what the main focus was about the rest is just the same twitter dbd argument.
By the definition of "OP" because it lasts too long.. should also WoO be look up then too? survivors getting all that free info without any sort of "do this first then you get your benefit" or the community is going to rally yet again to the basic "nerf X because it ruins my fun"
OTR gets you free BT, free distortion and free iron will. Do OTR needs to be also look after because 1 perk gives you 3 benefits as well? hmmm..
I don't think there will be any sort of rational discussion anymore when it comes to dbd.. that train has sailed the moment an information perk is now suddenly become too "op".. I guess next could be coup de grace too "op" too because you can't use your MFT to reach yet another window or pallet to pre drop..
Are people seriously complaining about Coup is that really a thing?

Im saying killers are more prone to slug for the 4k when they have ultimate weapon equipped and the final survivor is nowhere to be found. I didnt say the perk caused slugging for the 4k to all of a sudden happen in this game.
Its literally the only perk that can effectively find a survivor that is nowhere to be seen on big maps. So yea, ultimate weapon absolutely has something to do with more slugging occuring when the perk is used
No, killers are more prone to slug for the 4k when you get those sweaty killers that really want the 4k, perks have nothing to do with it. The perk has nothing to do with their actions and if your main complaint is that they use it to slug for the 4k then your issue isn't with the perk it's with the gameplay in which case that's an entirely different subject. Sweats will be sweats and casuals will be casuals the game has no way to separate the two so you just have to deal with it or play another game (which won't hurt you btw contrary to what the very vocal part of the community thinks)

To me its not overpowered, just over tuned.
Opening the locker doesn't cause people to scream, it makes the perk activate and the moment some one is in your Terror Radius within 30 seconds, the killer knows where you are and because of a bug that makes Survivors scream in lockers (only for this perk btw) it makes it have 0 counterplay.
My main problem is the activation time. It needs to be reduced DRASTICALLY as 30 seconds allows you to basically cover a large majority of the map, if not the whole thing. Information is a very strong tool and for Ultimate Weapon to not only have one of the strongest effects, but also having it so easily accessible is just dumb.
30 seconds is fine, it's not too long and any shorter and it would be a useless perk. If the killer is running around the map to proc it on everyone then they're not chasing anybody and usually will go after the last person who screams as the others will likely run away from where they screamed plus TR and visual TR still exist so you know very easily if you're the one they're coming for and can run accordingly. This is practically what BBQ and chili does but with preference, one shows aura far away without you traveling to that location the other shows you near you but you have to travel to use it. A nurse/blight would make far better use of BBQ than UI for more pinpoint info whereas a slower killer like trapper or pinhead (just as an example) would rather UI because of map balancing issues where they're just too big to make use of BBQ's duration.

People really complain all the time about how boring it is to sit on gens but when you have to do something other than gens it's also a problem. Plaything can be removed, pentimento can be removed. Hell, you can completely prevent pentimento by just blessing the hex.
Gotta run MFT OTF ADREN WOO etc. instead though

Sure really dead killer, which is why he still can outplay most tiles in the game, shoot through tiny cracks and gets used in comp, unlike many other killers... If you only performed well before with him then maybe you just need to put in some effort to learn how to aim, because insta shoot slinger was free: Free zoning, free hits...
He def can't outplay in most tiles now that MFT exist he's FAR worse even without MFT his "outplay" potential in most tiles pre and post nerf was no different than Huntress which is considered a fair killer.
Yes, he can shoot through tiny cracks with pinpoint accuracy that could just as easily be missed by being a pixel off. Stop using rare occurrences as an example, even Slinger 1 tricks aren't going to hit through tiny cracks (especially not with quickscope) often same goes for 18m shots, it was also something that required a LOT of practice. Skill should be rewarded not punished.
Anytime anybody brings up comp i'm almost inclined to ignore them. Comp is the less than 1% of the playerbase that spends more time playing DBD in a day than they do worrying about personal hygiene in a year who play with a specific set of rules and limitations.
Old slinger was strong in 1v1 i'll give you that but he had the massive downside of being horrible in the 1v4. He couldn't pressure gens. He couldn't pressure multiple survivors. He couldn't traverse the map quickly. All his nerfs did was make him worse at the 1v1 without letting him do anything else better.

How is your idea of balance to bring back stuff that was broken and got fixed instead of fixing new stuff that is broken?? Quick scoping was zoning and free hits at larger distance, xeno has 5 m.... That's just not comparable, but both are problematic in the sense that you cannot dodge it. I would also disagree with turrets being useless... People just need to learn to place them properly.
Old slinger was never broken. He crept up on people because of a perk + low TR music. Bumping up TR audio was an easier solution instead of nerfing so people could actually hear it before he was in shooting range.
His addons got nerfed for being overused and there's absolutely no argument on that, without touching on the fact that the rest of his addons were absolutely useless in more than half the scenarios you'd be faced with. They nerfed them for 0 reason other than popularity instead of just reworking his other addons to actually do something useful.
His "quickscope" was something that took time to actually get right (you don't see Nurse being gutted despite her having one of the most unfair abilities in the game) you landed the shot you were rewarded and if you didn't you were HEAVILY punished. How is that not fair if not a little weak on slingers side.
His range was higher, yes i'll give you that but unless you live your life playing shooters nobody was hitting 18m shots in every single game especially not with how tiny the hitbox on the spear is. The range argument is irrelevant since in most cases when you chase a survivor you were hitting them in the exact same situations Xeno does (at a window or pallet)
turrets even if placed properly still take time to set up. 5 seconds spent setting up a turret is 5 seconds not on a gen. 4 survivors doing that at the start of the match means you just wasted 20 seconds of the survivors time doing nothing but existing. Repeat this for each turret spent setting up and unlike Slinger Xeno has map mobility on top of being a faster killer.
Xeno can do basically anything Slinger can but better there's absolutely no reason to play him right now over Xeno other than personal preference of fun, which isn't a bad thing mind you, but it's not fair at all

The word "sweat" feels like it's just a thing people accuse others of when they got outplayed (or even just not playing as they wanted them to), so as to feel better about themselves. A deflection away from any negative emotions such as self-doubt.
Often, the accused hasn't even been sweating. Just relaxing, but ultimately better than the opponent.
Everyone wants to do well in this game, whether in a more casual format, completing challenges or wanting to get the 4k/quad-escape/solo-escape. "Sweating" feels more like an excuse or insult, rather than any reflection of the reality.
I typically refer to sweating as people who do unnecessary things for the sake of absolute victory. If you kill 2 people there's no reason to slug the 3rd for ages for the sake of the 4k you've already won and unless there's an archive demanding it you have no reason to do that for the 4th kill it grants you nothing of importance other than a boost to ego.
I always say this when it comes to DBD but there is no screen in this game that says VICTORY or DEFEAT. If the killer technically "wins" by getting a 3k but has less BP than the 4th survivor who maybe got out due to hatch or whatever circumstance did you really win? The game never told you that you won and your "score"(BP) is lower than the survivors.
Victory is self imposed in this game and some people will play in a way they don't even find fun that will ruin the game for everyone else as well all for the sake of victory. I consider that sweating.

That doesn't cause me improve as a player though. All that does is artificially up the difficulty, I'm not competing, I'm just pitying the people put up against me.
This is the crux of why I've kinda retired from DBD. There's very rarely any genuine non-contrived challenge and competition in it for me and that's why I play games.
Can't say I relate. I've never really been so into a game that I play only that game for months at a time. I play a game for a few hours and if/when I get tired of it I move on to the next and if i'm not interested I stop playing for weeks then come back and repeat. I find DBD relatively challenging for me since I don't spend enough time getting so good that it becomes too easy still find moderate enjoyment out of the game since it's not a walk in the park but also not so difficult that it's impossible
-
Doctor has a pretty good build making the rounds atm
Ultimate Weapon, Deadmans, Infectious, Merciless.
Lot of addon combinations work but the Queen (I think that's the one that makes survivors shock each other) and a calm addon is the most common. You'll get a lot of screaming from everyone with a fairly decent build

2. Slinger was instant windup (0.15 secs) with a range of 18m. Xeno has a quick windup (0.2) and a range of 4.8m.
3. Slinger always has his power. Xeno does not.
4. Her cooldown are confirmed bugged and each lasts 3 seconds. Saying she has no cooldown is wrong or the bugged out and had you moving far faster than intended (eta on the fix is next patch)
1) Turrets are currently a good thing for Xeno. They do very little on their own but waste a lot of individual time of the survivors from doing gens in order to barely counter the tail attack
2) The average slinger isn't shooting at max range in most cases you have cover and given the latest trend of BHVR littering their map in random junk it's very hard to get line of sight anyway.
3) Slinger has to reload, Xeno doesn't. If you miss a shot as slinger you are not only slowed from that but reloading also slows you down. Giving a ton of distance to the survivors as a punishment. Xeno miss or hit the survivors barely make distance and if you somehow get popped out of your power it takes barely any time at all to pop into a tunnel and get it back.
My point still stands that old pre-nerf slinger should be in an acceptable condition if Xeno is allowed to exist the way it does. There's nothing (ONCE AGAIN I CLARIFY IN CHASE) Slinger can or could do that Xeno can't. Aside from maybe a few radical trick shots through very small opening that most players wouldn't be able to pull off.

Because the purpose of playing a game is to win.
”Whoa, you captured my queen with your rook, why so sweaty?”
”Oh you’re just a sweatlord for using your level 3 super to KO me in SF6”
”Can you believe the Denver Broncos are playing so sweaty and went for a field goal?”
The purpose of playing a game is to have fun, I know this logic has been lost since gaming got big but that was the original idea of games (ESPEICALLY video games) when they were created. Yes, winning is fun but there is fun in defeat as well.
What I believe you're thinking of is the now for some reason popular mindset that you can't have fun if you don't crush your opponent which often stems from more personal life issues but i'm not gonna get into that.

Am I really being challenged if I'm handicapping myself? The answer is no. A challenge is when I'm playing to win and losing.
Does that mean I'm gonna go full tryhard to stomp a group of solos at 5 gens? No. Am I gonna throw against them though? Also no.
That is quite literally what a challenge is, yes. Overcoming a difficult task is what a challenge is. If you take a test and get 10/10 answers correct and then retake the exact same test over and over and get 10/10 everytime you didn't challenge yourself. You knew the outcome because you already had the advantage of knowing the answers ahead of time. Does it mean you aren't good/smart? No, but you def aren't challenging yourself doing the same thing (in DBD's case if you make your chances go from winning 50/50 to 80/20 in your favor before the game starts you didn't partake in any challenge and if you manage to lose you're just showing that you are actually hindering yourself)

it sounds like you sweated to prevent the killer from getting a kill, then accused them of being sweaty.
Mentioned in an earlier reply that I didn't care if I ended up dying my goal was to prevent the guy from being tunneled to death. Nobody has fun in a game where 1 person gets tunneled/camped to death especially undeservedly. If the killer had got me then sure w/e idc but i'm not gonna hand it to someone playing that way because that'd be doing them a disservice.

The whole "get over it" is something I mentioned in my original post. It doesn't work for everyone, and expecting people to just turn off their feelings is not helpful advice. Yeah, it's not a big deal, but it's when it happens constantly over and over that it starts to get to you. People are different, and calling them snowflakes for being annoyed at something you're not annoyed at is just inconsiderate.
I would agree with you if it was something important, but it's not, it's a video game. Nothing anybody does or says to you in a video game will effect you in your day to day life unless you allow it to.
So a guy crouched repeatedly at me (most of the time it's to get the killers attention so they don't focus on their team) so what? I still get to sleep, eat, work, and play games at my leisure so who cares. It's not a reportable offence according to BHVR so why let it bother you just ignore it and play the game and go to the next.
Idk what happened to the world where adult men/women allow something like this mentally break them down into fits of rage/depression but it's really sad imo

You could've answered that question yourself. Why did you sweat to secure the ultimate win for your team and a 4 man escape and not give the struggling killer more chances to secure a kill?
I didn't really sweat for the 4 man escape, I personally don't care if I die and unless the team was being absolutely useless/infuriating towards me and/or the killer I will usually sacrifice myself to get the other 3 out if possible even if it means a basement exchange vs bubba or somethin similar. If the others had died that would've been their choice not to finish the last gens and get out but for me I rather get less Nurse/Blights/Wesker back to back for 10+ games

Because I enjoy winning and I like to be challenged.
Are you really being challenged if you swing the odds into your favor? A challenge is going in with a random (or at least non meta) build and nothing more and trying to escape. Bringing everything you can to make the game as easy as possible isn't being challenged.

sure lets turn all killers into m1 basic killers that get easily outplayed by MFT and turn into the game into a pre drop breaking pallet simulator..
This is the type of comment that shows you only play 1 side of the game and want that side to be favored instead of balance.
Nobody wants alien to be gutted they want him to be nerfed to a reasonable level. If you've played as/against alien (a decent one and played at a decent level) you will see how overtuned it is.

Her entire kit and designed around camping a specific area and you see how much people hate that currently with Knight/SM/Sing
The difference with Hag is that she's slower than the others. Nobody honestly wants a killer whose power is designed around one area of the map. Trapper doesn't work well simply cause he HAS to go to the other areas of the map to even get his power. Hag has the downside of being slow. That's the only thing keeping those two in check if they ever do anything like that to her traps she will easily be one of the most unfair killers in the game.

When it comes to hitting on hook and tbagging I honestly feel like people need to stop letting video game animations hurt their feelings so much.
Yea, words can hurt sometimes (even more so when you know it's true) so toxic end game chat yea I get.
Slugging for absolutely no reason other than to waste their time is annoying (not really sure if reportable) but honestly if you are the last survivor and nothing can be done just tab out and wait for it to end.
Camping/Tunneling has less-so become a toxic thing and more of a strategy that sweaty players use to win. I've had killers play super casual and get destroyed and after 2-3 gens pop they give up and just bloodlust 1 survivor and hook them then camp/tunnel them out to try to win because they can't accept losing. Aside from bubbas nobody really camps to be toxic (or unless that one survivor pissed them off) they do it to "win" because winning in DBD is all they care about
Tbagging and Hitting on hook though? You're just being a snowflake at that point. Crouching in a video game will not do you any harm in game or in real life. Same goes for hitting on hook.

The game was never designed around people being as good at they are at the game. Most of the super good players are people who have basically nothing in life going on BUT DBD so don't let that get to you.
Also you can be a horrible looper and still be a good teammate if you have basic knowledge. Not even knowledge of the killer/addons etc. like how some players read these things 2 seconds into the game. I mean basic knowledge on what to do and where to be at any given moment
If someone on the hud is being chased you should be on gens. Not hiding in a corner not looking for chest or totems (unless archives or some other reason forcing you to) or in a locker just sitting on a gen.
If someone is hooked, another being chased and one person is on a gen if your gen has less progress you should go for the rescue not the person who's about to finish (unless ofc you're on the other side of the map)
Tons more basic stuff i'm not going to get into since i'm assuming you get the point. Tiny things like these make or break a game when added up. The amount of games i've had/seen where someone gives up because they had the killer in a 3+ minute chase and 1 gen got done and they get hooked only to see a dwight crouching in a corner on the opposite corner of the map from the killer while they can see they're in chase is insane. It's super common and leads to a lot of frustration which can impact your games.
Look up some tips on proper time management in the game and you'll sky rocket as survivor. As for killer gameplay it's honestly kinda just RNG. You hope the survivors aren't out to be a bigger d-bag than you are and that's basically how it is atm.

Deathslinger could use some adjustments. But it's not because Xenomorph exists.
My argument isn't that he needs buffs because Xeno exist, my argument is that he doesn't deserve to keep his nerfs because xeno exist. He couldn't do anything that Xeno can't currently do that's my entire point. If it's ok in BHVR's eyes for current Xeno to exist then pre-nerf Slinger should be considered perfectly ok

Xenomorph is not a better slinger. They are not comparable killers.
Slinger has 18m range and always has his power active. Plus he has to reel in survivors for damage.
Xenomorph has 4.8m range, does not have his power always active for the trade off of being able to move quicker around the map. Once his tail attack hits, it does damage.
As for tunnels. They generally do spawn next to gens, but some maps have fixed chest spawns which can force control rooms to be much further away from the gen it's suppose to be protected. Maps like midwich can have control rooms on the other side of walls as well. Xenomorph can't just get broken out of his power then immediately travel to a control room, he has to path to a control room first. Freddy, Dredge, and Sadako all have fixed points they teleport to, but they can engage the teleport where ever they are on the map.
IN CHASE (Something i've specified but keeps getting ignored): How are the two killers different? The difference is that Xeno is undeniably better. Xeno can hit you at a vault/pallet/window. Slinger can do the same but the difference is if Xeno connects on an injured survivor it's always a down. If Slinger connects on an injured survivor there are other factors that can prevent the down. Otherwise Xeno is a normal speed killer that can just walk up to you and slap you, slinger has to deal with 2-3 more loops due to slow speed to catch up (especially in mft meta)
OUTSIDE CHASE: Xeno is significantly better and there's no argument there.
Turrets need to stop being used as an excuse, if you play both sides and have played as and against xeno you know very well that turrets are ineffective on their own you need multiple for them to actually work and the time spent setting them up is more of a benefit for xeno than a hinderance given a 3 second dip in the tunnel given the power back.

People need to stop comparing Slinger and Xeno.
Slinger does not have turrets that can be placed around the map that alert you of the killer in a 41m radius bypassing undetectable. Nor does Slinger have to deal with turrets that can prevent you from using your special attack. Also slinger's range is 18m compared to Xenomorph's 4.8m
Also while Xenomorph is mobile, he can't just travel whenever he wants to and to whereever he wants to. He has to go to a control room and travel to other control rooms. Sometimes you get bad spawns.
I do think it's unfair that slinger had both his TR nerfed and his quickscope nerfed, but the existence of xenomorph does not mean that slinger needs to be reverted.
The reason they're compared is because in chase Xeno IS slinger but better.
People need to stop using turrets as an excuse as if they're any good. It takes 2 turrets next to each other to even work 9/10 times because of how long it takes to actually burn the xeno.
You also brought up his fixed tunnels as if they aren't fixed right next to gens, yknow the thing he's supposed to be patrolling anyway and also the location survivors have to go to aquire counterplay and also the fact it sees footsteps while in tunnels. No way anybody can deny that Xeno isn't heavily overloaded with too much crap.
Slinger being nerfed was unjustified back then but I got it, casual survivors aren't good and that's where he stomped hard. That's fine w/e but Xeno IN CHASE is almost identical to slinger BUT better.
Reverting slingers nerfs doesn't allow him to do anything that Xeno already can't. There's no excuse or reasoning for it at this point is my main point/argument.
What would giving slinger his old (or at least a 24 meter) terror radius do that's so unfair? Xeno can already creep up with tail
Why would giving quickscope back break the game? Xeno tail attack does the same thing and still doesn't have to reload nor are they punished for missing
I can let the addon nerfs slide as they were practically the only ones anybody ever used
