She's extremely boring to play. I only play her if I have a daily, and honestly? Sometimes I trash those dailies just to get a new one and play someone else. I don't find her very fun to play.
-
I hate it with a burning passion. Matter of fact, I hate the new UI so much. It bugs me that they rather spend time "fixing" things that no one complains about, but ignoring all the valid criticism people have about the balance of this game. It doesn't make sense to me why the dev team ignores the community so much.
-
I play both sides, but I main killer just for the simple fact of, often times, I don't like playing in a team. I just pefer playing solo because if anything goes wrong in the match, the only person to blame is myself. I'm also just not the best survivor anymore. I took a year break from dbd, so I'm really rusty.
Out of my 1k+ hours, a good chunk of that has been killer. And honestly, sometimes the match IS out of your control as killer. Sometimes the team of survivors are just better than you, sometimes I'm playing a killer that I don't have a lot of hours on like my main Pig or Ghostface. Sometimes, I'm playing with the dumbest killer build that I know won't win me the game because I just wanna joke around on a meme build . Even so, both sides of the coin have their annoying metas and one side isn't to complete blame. If I don't bring meta perks on killer, 40-50% of the time, I'm just gonna get stomped out by survivors with meta builds and I see my gens fly by like I never existed in the match. But, I don't really care what anybody plays with, and I hardly complain about perks tbh on either side.
I genuinely do think a lot of people these forums need to spend more time playing both sides rather than just one. A lot of these threads only make pointless us vs them convos that just cycle through endlessly. Video games are always gonna have a meta that people will follow, SPECIALLY if it's a pvp game, where you are playing against other people. Out of the 100+ perks in this game, of course some are just gonna be better than others. There is literally no way to avoid such a thing.

It's a parent's job to monitor what games and things their kids watches. If they end up playing dbd and you don't think it's suitable, it's their parents fault. BHVR doesnt need to baby parents to do their job

Killer wise, it's a fun game mode with friends. If you play it with a friend who also plays killer, it's basically an 8-10K every game. (At least it was for me and my friend. Our queues were of course 15+ minutes long, so we only played five matches in total in the span of 3 days.)
Survivor wise, it's fun, but a lot more annoying to play if you have two killers who are literally attached to the hip. That's been my experience in 2v8 lately. Two killers chasing one survivor and sandwiching them between pallets so they get down instantly, and then go chase a new survivor who is alone by themselves and repeat the same thing. Every single game, that's exactly what happens to me. Its so annoying and unfun to play against because I literally don't have a single chance to make the chase even last longer than 4 seconds. If I throw down the pallet, the huntress is 100% going to throw a hatchet to my skull and if I don't throw it down, the wraith on the other side of it, is just gonna M1 me.
I'm only playing survivor to farm bloodpoints, but even then, 400bp doesn't feel like enough.
I have to play like a complete coward, if I even wanna SEE end game in 2v8. Sure, I'll like to see 2v8 come back every now and then with new changes. But I don't want it to be permanent. I'm worried about the queue times for 1v4 if this mode stays around, because so far? I'd rather be playing 1v4 right now, but the queue times are so long that I'm stuck playing 2v8.

Personally for me, I been aware of literally every single license chapter and already been a fan of many things. When I saw that DBD added Amanda from Saw, I literally freaked out. Saw was the first horror movie I ever watched as I kid due to my step-mom. My step-mom and I watched lot of horror movies, so every single horror movie license character had me excited.
I quit dbd a year ago, came back because I saw they added Chucky.
I already played RE and Alan Wake before they got added too. Tome Raider too. I was homeschooled for a while so I had alot of time and played alot of games and watched a lot of movies. I don't really have any complaints personally.
-
late 2020-2021, I played a bit in 2019 but I didn't enjoy it as much because I had no one to play with. Honestly this is the first time in half a year I logged onto dbd after focusing on Apex and OW2
-
I'll try it out def. I'm honestly just fan of mixing ambush movement with my RBT delay. I learned a lot of mind games with it within the hours that I been playing her. I feel like 1v1ing against some of my really good survivor friends help, but GOD. At times ambush can feel like the weakest thing ever.
I still love it tho, its made some pretty funny clips.

OP, your post implies she was nerfed recently. I thought she somewhat recently got a buff?
The buff was nice, but at times, she still feels weak. I guess I'm always working around the new meta for killer perks because I took the time to start learning survivor. Maybe I just need a knew build, but I still have some things about pig where I generally just feels like she lacks, something. Honestly, I'm at the point where I just believe there is nothing that can fix her kit. As I said earlier, it's flawed my nature. Just like trappers, ghost face's and many other killers to me are.

@Neyar said:
If you're trying to get kills with the trap, that's not its primary purpose. The purpose is slowdown.
You want that survivor to have a trap on their head as long as possible. The longer they spend running around looking for jigsaw boxes, the more time they aren't touching a generator, healing, or really doing much else to progress the game.
On top of that, less confident groups will try not to complete gens if any survivor has a hat on. So you can sometimes get the entire game to grind to a halt if the survivors are nervous (typically solo q groups tbh).
In a 'perfect' game, I want to put one new trap on every time a gen pops. I want every gen completion to be a decision they make to potentially kill their own teammate. Make your choice, gens or friends.
Don't chase the person with a hat. They should be busy with the boxes and you can focus on the other three. The only time I ever harass a trapped survivor is if I stumble across them on a box or someone chases me to them on a box. Even then, I'll just get them to cancel their search so they have to start over and move on. Maybe down them if they're injured for more pressure. More than a couple seconds out of my way and it's not worth it to invest in a 'busy' survivor when there are three more happily doing their objective.
Getting a nice head pop is great, but I almost never play for that specifically unless I've essentially already won. Sometimes harassing the unlucky person who had to search four boxes is enough to get the head pop.
Or if you really want to play for trap kills, run tampered timer and crate of gears. It does exactly what you mentioned, where traps take 130 seconds and boxes take a few seconds longer to search. Large or confusing maps like red forest or rpd usually can get you at least one trap kill.
I don't I wanna sound mean, but you are literally telling me what I already know. I literally just said this is my main with around 500+ hours. I understand how to play pig and what her purposes are for her kit, but that doesn't make it any less flawed than what it actually is. As I said, RNG plays a big part in her RBT. I can run the addons to slow it down as much as possible and make it stale for when I need extra time to get a good early game start. However, when it fails into a team that is decent (Which I normally go against. I can still do good and I normally average around 3 kills per trial; sometimes 2/1 on days where I get pretty good survivor.). As you said earlier, yes I should focus on survivors that don't have a trap, and I do; However, I still play against decent survivors in game sense AND looping who understand how the game works as well. The chances of a survivor getting their trap off before a generator even pops is a lot higher than you possibly think — parting it with survivors who aren't scared to finish generators, I would often have to hope that end game falls in my favor around 2 generators left. I do think Pig is stronger around late game because that's were I have the best matches, but she is still a super weak killer.
I'm allowed to see and comment on the weak points she has. I'm not saying I want kills with the trap; I'm saying I want it TO BE A BETTER DELAY. I don't even want crazy buffs, I just want something. I'm fine with even a little bit of her trap time being shaved to even 140 seconds.
RBT are good against somewhat scared survivors. Scared to do gens and scared to look around for the jigsaw boxes. I like my matches to be a challenge, however, I still don't think Pig is anywhere near a good spot. When you had an RNG factor into any base kit, it's literally flawed by design. It's never going to be super reliable, just for the random chance that every survivor gets lucky and the entire build get goes to shreds. She simply just falls off around better survivors.
As I said earlier, overall, she's just muddy. She's a jack of all trades with three things, and don't even do them that well. I'm just kind of upset that you didn't get the point I wanted to make, and thought that you had to teach me how to play her. I'm quite literally just a one-trick pig. She's the only killer that I can play at a decent mmr. I don't want to say high mmr, because I frankly don't know— though I will take a guess of decent because I never go out with a 0k or 1k. Idk, I hope I'm not being rude, but it really did put a sour taste in my mouth.

Like, this is hell, more if you are playing solo, I just dont understand why they didnt nerf slowdown perks alongside the gen time increased
They did actually if you were paying attention t the patch notes or the live beta.
Thanatophobia is now 1%/1.5%/2% (was 4.5%/5%/5.5%). Dead man's switch nerfed by 15 more seconds now (20/25/30 seconds). The minute a survivor dies, HEX: Ruin gets reverted into a dull totem. Corrupt Intervention deactivates when a survivor is in dying state(unless no one dies, it reverts after 2 minutes). Pop's regression was changed to 20% of current progress (Used to be 25%).
They DID nerf slowdowns but only to shift the meta. So — the well known meta slowdowns been nerfed and the less used ones been buffed to have people use them more
.
-
A lot changed within the 2 years you haven't played. SBMM is now in place, so its not match making over grade but skill based. It goes off escapes and kills (I think, I never really cared to find out more about it in depth). A lot of the perks both killer and survivor have been nerfed/buffed. In short, a meta change as happened.
Solo q from what some say on the forum is a lot harder now.
-
Pig, I like handing out party hats (In with at least 5, sometimes 6 with the two extra bear trap addons because the rng will mess me over majority of the time)
-
I haven't been playing dbd for a few months. Maybe I'm just rusty, but I also have to get used to the new survivor meta (and maybe just stop using second chance perk completely, I feel like its more fun that way). I am the type of survivor to always be in a chase when I can though. Always try to go for 1-2 minute chases if I can
-
Honestly, you are right. I haven't been playing survivor but killer again. Every match I have, at least one survivor throws (Afk, kills themselves on hook) or straight up DC'ed after getting downed once. It makes me feel bad whenever it happens, but also question why. A good 95% of the time, I didn't camp or tunnel — they just throw the minute why got downed.
I just go friendly afterwards because it's unfair to the other three. I don't mind since I don't have long queue times on killer (2-3 minutes tops)
-
I play completely on steam.
For killer, I am a pig main. Somehow, her playstyle just fits me the best, I actually find her so fun to play. Second to pig would be ghost face.
As for survivor, its hard to say but I would say Nea since I remember most of my clips being on her.

If the game dies, it will not be because they added Pinhead to it. Rofl.
Maybe I should have said it better, but I'm not thinking Pinhead is the only reason. It would be one of the few. A lot of players refuse to play the game now and already uninstalled. The gain lost is now at 5,872 and continues to go down. The other reason for this lost could be SBMM. A lot people now find the game to be stale because of it.

Many were concerned that Steam will delete the game. It addresses that concern.
That was not the main concern though. What people are truly mad about is the fact they accepted the NFTs terms PAE set to have pinhead in the game. The better choice for them would have been saying no, seeing that it now kills whatever rep they had left. It's true that they are not selling NFTs, however, they had a hand in making them. Pinhead isn't worth seeing this game possibly die out.

They dont own the model because its license, I think YOU dont get it. They are not involve or related to NFT, just with the model, they created it, they dont own it, thats a BIG difference.
While PAE owns the hellraiser license, you have to remember that BHVR is in a contract with them. This entire thing could have been avoided if they turned down Pinhead because of the terms it takes to add him into the game. No one wanted Pinhead that badly for them to get involved with these two companies doing this NFT scheme. Now their reputation seemingly got worse, new players are turning away and old players are leaving. I rather have no Pinhead than whatever this situation is.

They are not the ones who sell NFT, they just created the model of Pinhead. Is this that hard to understand ?
Its too easy to say Behaviour are just evil company blah blah blah.
And as I said before, im not supporting the company, I support the game and the devs. So they will eat my money.
Yes, they did create the model and then GAVE them the model and Pinhead DLC steam keys for these NFTs. I don't think YOU get it. There is no way to support the game and its devs without supporting the company at the same time. Whatever money you give for the devs and the game, goes back into the company. BHVR is now associated with the term of NFTs, they may not sell them but they are involved in the matter because they worked with the two companies to give them the things they need to create these NFTs.
-
Sadly no. It's not bannable from what I heard. Sucks to know too, I had a Freddy slug my friends to death today and using knock out to do it. I was the only one that got out because they killed themselves so I could get hatch.
-
Around a month or so. It was mainly because my friend had family shared his steam library with me. I never bought cyberpunk 2077 and I didn't want to buy it, so he steam shared with me. I spent that month just playing cyberpunk 2077. I'm still not bored of dbd, even with the trash state it's at now. I have a feeling I'm still going to be playing for a while. It takes me a while to get burnt out of some games, hell I played Minecraft for 7 or 8 years.

I'm a filthy casual, and after MMR was enabled, my matches have been like I've been playing in a tournament, not to say they weren't like that before. Why does every killer have BBQ and Infectious? I just want to chill and laugh while playing, but these past few days have been donkey balls.
What should I do?
I'm pretty sure almost all killers use BBQ because it's a BP bonus perk. It makes the grind easier because getting everyone to p3 isn't easy, if you think that's sweaty then I don't know what to tell you.
-
This also just happened to me, my game crashed on pc and now my ranks got reset :/
-
Really annoying, especially if your team ignores the box for the entire game. I still do like playing against him, idk about playing as him though. For the last two killers, I never really tried to play them because their playstyle doesn't interest me.

Do survivors all share a single MMR score?
It doesn’t really make sense, but I play worse with David than I do with Feng.
Survivors share the same MMR, other than perks, you play each survivor basically the same. Rather than killers, where each one has a different power and has to be played differently.
-
A lot of them. I got to red ranks as pig and never had the chance to learn anyone else. (Most of my 450+ hours goes to pig.) The LOWEST would probably be Bubba, Spirit, Hillbilly, Clown, Doctor and Nemesis. I don't really have an interest in playing any of them. I have tried everyone else at least once or had about 10 matches with them.
Im down to finally learn how to use Nurse, Deathslinger and Huntress tho. I don't mind playing Hag more while I'm at it.
-
I'm still gonna play Pig. I don't really care if I get some high MMR that makes her harder to play for me. I find her the most fun and still will. I never really raged at this game playing killer. Yes to raging at survivor because y'know, solo q, but never killer. If anything, I'll learn more about playing her.
-
It's def going to be more cosmetics. However, I truly do hope they rework the way BP is. Playing survivor to grind BP is like the worst possible thing to do. It's really slow if you don't have any double BP perks. Though, it can also still be slow if you just end up getting tunneled out of the game, not leaving you to have a chance of doing anything in the match.
Since I'm talking about that, I hope they somewhat fix the emblems for survivors. One gives you more points for unhooking and healing but the other gives you points for not getting hooked and not getting injured??
It's terrible and it doesn't make sense to me.
-
I noticed this whenever I started playing survivor more, and I actually didn't realize this is how most Pigs play. I actually had one slug me after putting a bear trap on me and didn't hook me for 2 minutes and fine she finally did, she just camped and tunnel me out.
I do main Pig, but I try not to tunnel. If you run into me, I might slug you for a bit at best if no one else is around because I still need map pressure. The layout I always try and do is get at least 2-3 survivors in bear traps. Leaving them to waste time searching the boxes rather than getting them doing gens. The last person is not in a trap, I go after them(because I run bbq on pig, I always see where they are). No one is doing gens at this current moment. If I'm able to hook the person without a bear trap in time, one of the survivors that already have one will have to stop searching to unhook. With the addons I run, it's possible for me to get this set up sometimes. This gives me enough pressure early game to not worry when there are 2 gens left. I'm always able to get at least 8 hooks when there are two gens (Actually just finished a game with this setup and it went well all 12 hooks).
Sometimes, I'm not able to complete this setup in time—which makes me get a 2k at most but I'm fine as long as I have enough hooks not to depip.
-
I love indoor maps, I don't care how badly designed they are, I still manage to have fun with them somehow.
-
I meannnn, I have played as them before I do find them fun to play but also against. Guess I'm the only one who would mind seeing them more and playing them.
-
Just last night I actually had a SWF that bought an offering to Haddonfield with two brand new parts, a key, and flashlights. Pretty sure they had comms too. I was playing pig so I already knew I had no chance of winning but I didn't lobby dodge because I simply didn't care. I just don't understand why people find doing this exact thing so fun.
-
I'm not gonna lie...kinda miss old coldwind. New coldwind is fine, but I still miss the old one, It used to be one of the maps I got the most when I was like freshly new. Im talking one month into the map new.
-
Thanatophobia.
It's not that good on any of my main killers but I'll never even put it on legion either. Whenever I play against a killer with Thana I just never really feel a difference in gen repairs. Normally it's only one person that stays injured at a time, so maybe that's why I don't see a difference.
(side note: I also don't like using sprint burst as a survivor. I hate walking everywhere tbh, I use lithe or dead hard and that's it.)
-
I would just say annoying, not really toxic, just annoying. I get doing the same thing can get boring for some people. It's just I somehow still enjoy this game like I just bought it for the first time. Normally I get tired of games after 300 hours but I'm still playing this game nearing 500 and probably going to be at 1k at the end of this year.
-
I don't main any side, and that's not gonna change with SBMM. However what is gonna change for me is playing other killers rather than Pig, Ghostface, Legion, and Myers LOL.
I don't have a problem with SBMM, I rather welcome it. If I notice my matches are a bit more of a challenge than good! I wanna get better at both sides anyways. I can't get better if I'm used to winning 90% of my matches, can I? I know I'm not going to be in like very high mmr, I just started playing like 5 months ago maybe? So I'm down to get better at the game at a slow pace ngl
-
As a survivor, normally I don't take anything. I'm fine to go without something. Sometimes, however, I like to bring a medkit or a flashlight. Medkit because sometimes your solo q teammates just REFUSE to heal. I still bring one if I swf sometimes (2 stack at most) because my friend tends to get chased, alot.
Killer, however, I ALWAYS bring add-ons for pig. I normally play with "Last Will" (Yellow addon for extra trap) and "Create of Gears" or "Bag of Gears." Sometimes I run the gear ones together but I like having an extra if someone gets a trap off too fast.
-
For the most part as a survivor, I try to max every category, which you should be doing as well. For the most part, unhooking counts as one of the emblems. Which gives you more pips. You should honestly try to unhook/heal someone at least once a match.

Reminds me of how people change their filters to make scratch marks neon red & then say they have eyesight problems or something.
One of the colorblind modes (Protanopia(Green-red)) actually makes it look like that. So if they are running it on that. I don't wanna doubt them if they say they have an eyesight problem because they could actually be colorblind.
It's the only one that fits what you were saying. I'm not really saying your wrong, just letting you know one of the colorblind modes just make red look kinda..neon more brighter I guess.
-
I find playing this game a lot more fun the minute I stopped caring about the outcome of the match. I don't care if I lose or win. I don't care if a survivor/killer bms me.
I mean yea sometimes I do the "unforgivable" acts in the survivor rule book as slugging or tunnel. I don't do it often though. I'll only slug if someone is nearby with a flashlight or toolbox. Tunneling though? Sometimes survivors have the same skin on and I just can't tell the difference of which one it is. Maybe it's because I also play both sides though that I find it hard to get angry about things survivors do when I play killer or when I play survivor and a killer does something. Seems hypocritical if I get angry about it lol.
I tend to listen to music whenever I play too, music always helps me be in a good mood.
-
I'm just gonna say it straight up. It's impossible to actually balance an asymmetrical game like this. There are too many factors in trying to balance it. You have to take into account all types of players (Low MMR, mid MMR, high MMR players). Trying to balance around High MMR would make it impossibly hard for low MMR solo players and somewhat for mid MMR, but balancing around how low MMR would be a mess for the others.
That would mean having to change around killer base kits and powers to try and fix multiple types of gameplay(Which isn't really possible, if I really think about it. A lot of killers would stay as lower tier.)
Both sides have Meta perks that could be a point for both sides. BBQ, Ruin, Undying, and Tinker could be noted as the Meta for killers that need to be fixed. One could argue about DS, Unbreakable, BT, and DH. (I'm not saying I have a problem with any of these perks because I don't. I don't really care.)
Perks are there to help. While some are a lot better than others in usefulness, it's a given if the most useful perks are going to be used the most. Balancing around those perks is the problem though, which again I think is just not possible. Too many factors and I didn't even list them all. Only the ones I think are most important/most talked about within the community.
-
I just LOVE going against Nurse. Even when my chase barely lasts long. Idk the idea of having to change my entire playstyle to be unpredictable is very fun to me.
-
If this screenshot is recent...SBMM hasn't been added yet. That's the next update.
-
I'm not gonna lie... I find Huntress and Deathslinger REALLY fun to play against. (Mostly because I spend the entire time panicking that I end up getting lucky in my chases and make them miss a lot. If you don't know what your doing, neither does the killer I guess.)
However trickster? Don't hate him but he's meh to me to loop.
-
This happens to me a lot when steam goes down for a bit. I get the DC penalty just for it. Makes me a little upset, but nothing I can do about it.
-
Wouldn't say I'm excited, but somewhat happy about it. The last test went amazing for me on both sides. My main killers got a bit more of a challenge while I can play with weaker killers that I don't know how to use on a lower level until I understand them. While survivor, I stayed around the range of having causal plays and not sweating. Win some, lose some other key casual games.
So I feel like I'll be fine with update.
-
I had this Kate before when I was playing Ghostface. The team was decent, nothing really overly good about them where I had to sweat for a 4k. Whenever it got time for me to chase this Kate, she would camp and BM at every pallet. I'm not really one to BM back and I normally just hook a survivor and go if they BM me, but I was playing Ghostface and I couldn't miss the chance. So yea...closed hatch on their face and tbagged them for a bit.
-
I'm not even gonna lie. I'm literally just not good enough to start messing around with perks and finding good combos on both sides. At least for now. I really only been playing this game for like what...4 months with 400 hours(but half of it is because I leave the game open sometimes)? I rather just take my time learning how to be better at the game with whatever meta perks I feel comfortable with using before I feel like I don't need to run them all the time anymore. I'm not really a 'sweat' but just a casual player. I don't really care what anyone else runs either.
