Here is the clincher for a lot of people:
"The Killer is an Iconic Genre-Defying Killer."
So of course people will assume it's one of the classic slashers, people will assume it's Pennywise, Jason, Xenomorph, even possibly the Deadites from Ash vs Evil Dead.
Because of that one line right there.
I think it's Candyman because while he isn't exactly genre-defying to a lot of people, his first movie was rather groundbreaking for a pre-Scream Horror movie.
Genre-defying maybe, but iconic is far fetched. I loved horror growing up but when things were popping up about it being Candyman I had to google who he was. I didn't grow up in the US and it turns out they only showed Candyman in NA, maybe parts of EU for sequels? Point is, when I think "iconic" I think worldwide and he doesn't have that appeal for me. Of course I'd still accept him and I'm all for licensed killers and the growth of DBD but when the marketing team gives us that quote for something to munch on, the hype gets to an all time high and I personally don't know if I can reach that.

Well that's your opinion. Maybe you should get better at it. He has add-ons specifically for those situations.
Get better at what? I 4k every game too but like I said it's just people getting used to him. He does have his moments and he's incredibly fun. Trust me I'm on your side here, I just want Deathslinger to be as good as Huntress and not be in her shadow. I don't want to get into detail on how he could be improved but Scott Jund did a video on it, check it out!

You guys are forgetting that people are still getting used to how he plays. I still get R1 survs that run in a straight line, but every once in a while I get survivors that really know how to play against him already and are dodging left and right, dropping pallets when appropriate and respecting windows. You miss that one mixup and it's reloading simulator and the gap between you two further widens. Huntress' hatchets at least gives you chances and has no range limit. In one week when everyone is used to him its ggez

Wasn't legion considered complete garbage and almost game ruining?
It was a matter of playstyle tbh, you could frenzy with the remaining bar you have left, it didn't have to fill up. Sloppy and SBTFL was still viable then too.

From what I can recall, Spirit was schwarbage on release.
Oh was she? Didn't play then but I assumed she started strong with old prayer beads, vault animation and touching survivor models through phase.

I'd say not using DH until the killer is directly on top of you is the worst time. With dedicated servers, half the time it will leave you exhausted on the ground because the killer hit registered before your dead hard.
You can really tell who actually uses the perks in this thread.
I don't even understand your first sentence, it's worse to not use DH if the enemy is on top of you? There's still a slight second after the blink when they're on top of you to lunge, and I'm saying that's the only time to pre-emptively DH. Unless that's not what you're saying? Please clarify.

Unfortunate. You act like the cooldown matters if you blink once though. It's literally gone by the time fatigue is over.
When you said you played nurse did you mention you play in red ranks? Because I have and one cooldown and fatigue is all you need to reset chase. R1 survivors know that you only need LoS to mix nurses up and never go to any open field. It is possible to juke a nurse with just one jungle gym.

I have. After you learn the player has dead hard, you can just blink and not swing to bait it lmao.
Sometimes you can even down the person with your second blink after they do that if you were close enough initially.
good survivors know not to use DH until you swing except if you're directly on top of them. She's probably the only killer where survivors aren't worried about dedicated because they know the nurse has to decide on a swing or not before fatigue strikes. It's mindgames on survivor's terms.

I don't like the idea, since the problem with early game is not finding the first survivor. It's true it might help Trappers or hags, but it will do nothing for the rest of the killers. The problem is that there is 0 map pressure at the begining of the match. This could be fixed by making the survivor go fetch something (for instance a highlighted toolkit, like freddy's clocks) before sitting on a gen. It will also help the killer find someone, since everyone will be traversing the map to get the toolkit.
I actually like this idea, maybe all 4 survs have to find highlighted wrenches individually randomly scattered across the map before working on a gen. It's balanced in a way that killers have to find survivors anywhere, not just look at one of the farthest gens from where you spawn while survivors on the other hand just have to hide at the meantime while obtaining the wrench. That, and if they fix map size i genuinely think this game could be in a good shape.

I'm starting to think if Nurse had an exhaustion add-on, would it be the most used add-on on her? I would think so.

Does it matter that a perk counters a killer? Urban Evasion counters Hag, Iron Will for Spirit, Calm Spirit for Doctor etc..
Well yes but they all have counterplay or just not worth it. bringing urban evasion and calm spirit generally is not the best perk out there, it's not like you're hoping to get those killers in a trial. iron will on the other is but you can counter it with stridor. Calm Spirit can be countered as well with restraint so really every counter perk to killers you mentioned is still not big of a deal. DH against Nurse on the other hand..

Can confirm you can 90 degrees with him but at the same time it feels so slow?? Like he does a slow turn before he hits and you can't hit someone when he's right there. I just played a match against a green rank survivor and I could not hit him at all IN THE CORNFIELD. When I decide to stop charging and hold M1 it's easily jukable too. I had to normal m1 hit to down him after the power-up. Imagine that time spent and "threat" of a rage. At least make the speed consistent all throughout but hard cap to 90 degrees, it's awful right now. Devs, I implore you to KYF and see if you can hit someone field-only.
-
Yeah, I don't mind 90, fine. But it's feeling like 40 atm.
-
On a similar tangent, shouldn't the idea of balance be used for perks as well? This isn't much of an issue but I would love a game where survivors would use varying perks that isn't meta but can work effectively. Steve and Nancy's lackluster perks have been a consistent topic in the discussion boards and for good reason, I never see anyone using it 2 weeks after they came out. I understand there are steps being done for every other perk but there are perks that get buffed or nerfed so surprisingly such as Left Behind or Detective's Hunch. And then there are perks that are only effective when combined with 1 or 2 more perks to really shine. I just think even in a marketing standpoint I wouldn't think twice about buying survivors whose perks aren't up to par with the rest. Like who uses Ace or Quentin perks be real here. If i played competitively I would buy Laurie for DS and call it a day, money saved.

i think she's fine if prayer beads gets nerfed and theres a second after blinking where she can't do anything. There's a popular build right now that YTers are doing that yoinks people off of gens and you shouldn't be able to do that with that much ease. I also think the audio cue that happens should be directional by 180% depending on where she is. not too powerful but not awful.
