Title says it. 2nd match after getting a 4K with Nemesis with MMR on and this happens.

    https://youtu.be/MDICnuOR_6g

Generator popped at 19 seconds. (There's a bug if this happens counter and sound does not work properly Otz Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CdIwSJRjFE)

Are Gen Speed fine then? Why is still not balanced out? IS this what I'm gonna face in future forever as a Killer with High MMR?

Clearly your fault - not enough gen. pressure in early game, you just mindlessly wondering around whole 20 seconds, what did you expect to happen? :D

  • The thing is - modern horror movies are low effort ######### made for halloween season or netflix. One of most memorable lately was It, about killer clown... straight from 80s. What else do we have? Generic demons from Conjuring? Whatever. Killer plants from Happening? Lol, even if Little Shop Of Horrors (80s again) is the way to go. Generic Quiet Place monsters? Eee... Bunch of pissed off rednecks in Purge? No. There is nothing.

What good slasher movies with recognizable killer we got lately on level of Ghostface, Meyers, Jason, Freddy? Damn, i never watched movie with Freddy, and even i know who he is, how he can kill you and what he will use. Thats iconic. Slenderman is a joke in compare to this. Some faceless shy dude. Springtrap? Some bear robot from some game nobody will remember after 5 years. What he can do? Hug me to death?

From more modern movies i remember only Krampus from that christmas horror movie, he was awesome and freaking scary. He would be good killer maybe. Other than that we have only better known games. Like this monster from Amnesia.

Just get better. you got lazy because most players in any rank is a bot who just do gens, get hookef, do gens get hooked, do gens and then they die.

Mostly you dont see survs who plays actively depending on situation etc

That brings people like you to cry about players who plays very competetive

Dude, I got lazy? About what you are talking about? I played at best 15 hours with trickster. Less than a day. I know maps? I guess. I played game before? Sure. But i dont play in tournaments, im not competitive and i never will be. Also it is impossible to be better versus team with 12000 hours. I dont even have 5% of that time. -_- Anyway, it is not about people being competitive, you missed the point by the mile.

Anyway, lets say straight - SWF in DBD is cheating. Gameplay of DBD is build around playing with random people without any communication. And yet cheating is allowed by devs. So i dont understand - we should all have in-game chat, or SWF should be not possible. And yet single players are punished by playing alone, and SWFs are allowed to cheat out killer. How this makes any sense?

I do wonder if there should be a surrender button for survivors, where if all of the living survivors press it, the killer instantly gets the remaining sacrifice points and the No One Escaped score event. Sounds like it could be nice for survivors, but I'm not certain that there's a problem with this that I'm overlooking.

Maybe there could be a social engineering problem where introducing the possibility of surrender makes survivors more likely to give up even if their team is still trying. Or make survivors surrender on winnable but tedious situations, like stacked slowdown Legion. Sounds like it would need rigorous playtesting on unsuspecting subjects, which can be hard to do. Maybe implement it on live for exactly two days, and then compare the data to see if the amount of surrendered games that should've been winnable is worth the player inconvenience of enduring 4-man slugs for four minutes? Hard to say.

More like suicide button, would be in theme of the game. :) Anyway, this option could work only if you are last player in game, right? No team, no problem. After all im talking here about situation where there is no team already - they left or die. So it would be perfectly fine.

I never encountered situation when i was slugged with other players, always alone, they got hooked or escape.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

DC penalty is turned off now, but you will lose all BP from that match

    So penalty is still on.

Not everyone understand, so one more time - im talking here about specific situation, when im last person alive, on ground, and i cant do NOTHING to end game. Some of killers want close hatch, thats sucks enough, few times i died on ground, because they could not find it. Just because they wanted those extra 500 points im forced to wait. Others, and encountered few already, dont care about hatch, they will just watch you die - they will stay around and watch. Sadistic ######### or salty players, whatever, i dont care.

I care about my wasted time tho, when i cant do nothing and im forced to... do nothing really, waste time, no, not even that, because someone is wasting my time - just lie and wait 4 minutes. And on top of that killers will be rewarded for doing that. :/ Yes, those people will not hook me even before health countdown is over.

And i found this whole situation silly. First, developers of this game, force us to have profanity filter on, IN 18+ GAME WHERE YOU MAIN OBJECTIVE IS TO LITERALLY MURDER OTHER PLAYERS, but "bad words", omg, not that! Too much for my little fragile adult brain, clearly i could not hande "######### you" in chat, lol. And yet they allow and support every toxic behavior in this game, because "freedom" of gameplay, i guess - slugging last player 4 minutes, farming, challenges, bloodpoints overall - this situation is in at least 50% caused by bloodpoints and how bad this whole system is to healthy gameplay. With this they do nothing, but "bad words", god forbid. :/

I'm actually a very good killer, thanks. My point makes perfect sense. Yours on the other hand...

I hate to tell you. But if survivors are staying glued to gens. There's not enough time in game to get 12 hooks no matter the killer. There's not enough time to take on 12 chases .

That's why camping, slugging, tunneling are strategies that killers tend to go to. Because gens fly to fast

Glued to gens, huh? It is hard to take you seriously now Mr. "Very Good Killer". :) Anyway, dont do offtopic. I dont care how badly you play as killer. If you have nothing to say then, silence is good option for you. Bye.

Your post makes 0 sense. You want killers rewarded for not tunneling..Which ok I'm down with..You want survivors rewarded for doing gens...And you want long matchs. But you're rewarding survivors for doing the one thing that ends games fast as hell. To the point killers need to camp, tunnel, slug just to keep up.

Your post dont make any sense. If killer kill everyone before 5 gens, game will end even faster. But anyway...

Survivors JOB is to do gens and escape. Killer JOB is to kill everyone. So about you are talking aobut anyway?

Game should award that in a healthy way, thats my point. 5 gens and 4 gate escape = max bonus, 12 untunelled hooks and 4 kills = max bonus. Simple, both ways - maximum lenght of games.

I mean... Game should award survivors for what IYO? Getting hooked? Sitting around doing nothing? Come on.... And if you think tunneled is required for killer to "keep up", you are bad killer. Maybe thats the problem here.

I swear, any post involving anecdotes of killers being gracious, fair, or human beings as opposed to evil lizard people is literally invisible to you.

Power-tripping players exist on both sides. If you played killer at all, you would understand that a.) some killers are perfectly chill and b.) some survivors are horrific sweats whose goal in the game is to tilt the killer as much as possible. Assuming one side are casual innocents and one side is nasty and evil... really blatantly lacks perspective and is a profoundly unhealthy viewpoint besides. Earlier today you said that the purpose of the killer role is to ruin the game for survivors, but this game would look pretty damn boring without a killer - unless games with AFK killers are your favorites?

I personally enjoy playing killer more than survivor because I have the power to make the game fun for everyone. I can give good chases, spread out my hooks, and then chill out at the end, and reap the rewards of a happy team. I'll get ######### on occasionally by a strong team, or profoundly BMed by a nasty one, but if you're frustrated with the inability to control the flow of the match as survivor, you should really give killer a try. Be the change you want to see and all that. (And maybe, while you're at it, realize that playing killer by the survivor rulebook is not nearly as effortless as you preach it is.)

To the OP, I don't entirely agree on some issues raised - I don't really think camping, tunneling, and slugging are toxic by themselves, only in context (facecamping at 5 gens is scummy, tunneling at 2 gens left isn't), and I'm alright with the devs' stance that they're allowed, just not winning strategies on their own, and letting that be the discouragement. But I totally agree that they've exacerbated issues unnecessarily by creating incentives to do these things. Survivors needing to escape with the crowns is incredibly obnoxious on solo queue, doubly so when games are full of survivors that are just running around looking for crowns instead of doing gens. I'm finding myself way more frustrated playing survivor than usual because I typically didn't care about escaping, only playing well - and now everything hinges on escaping and I'm getting mad over games I wouldn't have cared about before. And tome challenges are full of challenges telling killers to slug for the 4k, or set up always-popular basement builds, or bring NOED and afk all game, and telling survivors to throw the match by performing an action with an obscure perk, or hiding next to the killer for a minute, or getting 4 unhooks in one game, or pointing at the killer while they're running towards you. There isn't enough time in a match for survivors to screw around, which rifts encourage, and players will happily throw each other under the bus if it means getting their rift challenge done.

(And then there's the Myers achievement, which tells the killer to go create the most boring game possible, for as many times as it takes until it works and nobody rage-DCs at the last second.)

I'm cool with giving bonus points to killers for not tunneling or camping... I assume that the check wants it so that survivors aren't hooked consecutively/the killer didn't trigger the 'proximity to hooked survivor' score event. But that's as far as I'll go. The problem with making it impossible to tunnel or camp, beyond the scenario where the killer has to do one of those things to salvage the game, is that skilled survivors will abuse it. You saw this with old DS; survivors that have protection will use it offensively and block the killer from going after other players.

I didnt mean tuneling, camping etc. was toxic or bad (unpleasant and iritating, if you ask me). Developers supporting this with challenges, anniversary events and overall gameplay are doing bad thing tho. Game should reward healthy gameplay more than anything - 12 untunneled hooks + 4 kills / 5 gens + 4 escapes thru gate - longest games, healthy gameplay.

Game should also not reward slugging. Hooking at 95% health, full points. Beyond that, every 1% health less should also mean -1% bloodpoints for hooking. So if you slug to death, you will get 5% points. Except last player. I had several games, when killer slug me to death as last player. This should be straight -1 pip or slugged last player should be allowed to DC without penalty. :/

Anyway, game could reward players for playing best, longest games. Key word - Reward, not punish or ban. Tunneling, camping or whatever should be allowed. Im fine with that.

Points should be equally shared. Killer can have 32000 for perfect game, survivors also should have that. It is not less stressful when you can only hide&run, and survs also have hard games. Dunno why devs forget that.

Also, im writing here only about BP rewards, nothing more. More BP as a sign how to play and get most of blood points, simple as that. Camp? Less points. Hatch? Less points. Is it allowed? Sure, do whatever, sometimes you have no choice, but just like Olimpics - you will get gold medal only if you run from start to finish, not when you get shortcut thru hatch or camp whole event close to finish line, right? ;)

So, normal games like now, 32000 points for any player at best. And on top of that performance bonus max 500% rewarding healthy gameplay. This would also resolve so many problems about endless grind...

Also devs should update achievements and remove toxic "do this in one game" from all challenges.

  • Thanks for answer.

Well... Thats lame. I really like Ox charm. :(

  • Yes, you cannot avoid it, but you can not support it. Thats my point - developers support toxic gameplay. And i dont understand why, evan i can do this better without too much thinking. :/

Literally every Trickster i play against is terrible but because of his dumb design it's literally impossible to get distance from a hook especially with his "main event" where he can literally throw 100 knives at you with his base kit too...what dev thought this was actually a good idea to have in the game? Literally just delete him, i'd rather keep playing against Spirits and Nurses instead of this trash.

You should play him. For me he is "zero kill" killer. He is really hard to play, harder than any other. Not because how complex he is, because how terrible his powers are.

  • @Nyx32 said:

Sounds like a you thing. I'd say there are much more annoying killers, and doctor isn't "designed" to be annoying, he is designed to be scary with the random laughs, flashing images, etc. It's most likely that you have just fought him so much that you're used to it.

And how is he badly designed as a killer? I'd say he's in a pretty good spot right now, gameplay and strength wise. Do you have any actual points beside "it's badly designed"?

For me he is one of less scary killers in game. Maybe because "things at random" are not scary, just annoying. Anyone can tell you that.

And i dont think it just me, Doctor have most DC games of any killers. Play him for a while, you will see for yourself.

About "badly designed" thing. In this game you can run or hide and player cannot do any of this while playing against him. Hiding against him dont work, and that would be fine alone, but also running away will not work, because he will make any loop useless. There should be one thing or another, not both.

But i was mostly referring to overloading my screen with noise, flashes and other effects he can apply. Its just too much, waaaaaaay toooo much. Its not scary, not cool, not crazy, just annoying.

He is badly designed even if you compare him to other killers - wounds from AllKill knives will heal after a while, you can cure yourself from poison or dream at anytime, but madness from doctor will stay whole game no matter what you do.

1:52 - 4:16 is how long the gens took to complete.

2 minutes and 24-25 seconds to complete all 5 generators.

For people who say "Gen Rushing" doesn't exist.

Do you need anymore evidence, or will they still be ignorant?

If a survivor(s) are able to gen-rush or get all 5 gens in a specific amount of time. I feel the killer should have a slight buff to him at the end or so, to make up for all the potential pressure he lost. But that's only IF the gens are done in a very fast manner, and if the killer was UNABLE to gain pressure, while simultaneously actually playing the game to try and give pressure. So you can't just sit around AFK waiting for a free buff, it should be earned, based on chaser, deviation, sacrifice, and brutality.

Because GOOD LORD IN HEAVEN, that is so ridiculous.

So, the only thing Survivors suppose to do is bad to do? I mean, how can you say "GenRush", when you have basically nothing else to do except open gates? How is that any rush? And how you can rush it? How can i do gens faster than usuall?

  • @GoshJosh said:

They can’t do that, because there is an achievement tied to all four survivors escaping through the hatch.

So maybe they should update achievements and delete this one? For example we still have (now) almost impossible achievements like "3 teleports and grab" as Nurse, or "fix last gen and escape thru gate".

  • @akanadi said:

sure they get rid of broken loops but in a really boring way of "######### it breakable wall" and making stuff look better? most the reworked maps look debatably worse imo, and it's not because collision because have you played blight, guy literally slides off everything

The point is to add 5 years experience of making DBD to old, obsolete part of the game. Updated gameplay, design and visuals are necessary changes in multiplayer game after so long time. If you have further problem with online game being updated can i suggest Atari games for you? There are no updates whatsoever and games on that system will stay forever the same. That should suits you perfectly. :)

  • @DominiqV said:

It's either have a killer that can be played by multiple people, or a game mode with 2 killers and 8 survivors, i lean towards a multipleyer killer, with an idea i have being that one can injure, and the other can down, and the can do a small animation to swap places with eachother... they may need another sideish power but its easy to get op with two killers on the field.

So your solution for long survivor "queues" with 5 people in game is game with 10 people or killable killers? Can you think about this solution for at least minute? Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Thanks. :)

You shouldn't care about ranks too much in this game. Rankings are a complete joke in DbD and nowhere near representative. Took me literally 40 hours (as a new player) to reach red ranks as Killer. And the matches in red ranks still felt like I was playing against bots half of the time while the other half felt like I was playing against the gods of looping and gen rushing.

Well, my friend, when you play mostly survivor with random people and then you die several times on first hook because none of your green friends saved you, exactly at this point you care about playing in higher ranks... :D

  • Yeah, i had this just now. Killer found me first, chased something around 60-90 seconds, he was running after me thru half of whole map, and lost 2,5 gens on my first hook. Then i was tunneled and dead after something around 3,5 gens done. And i dont mind, he killed me so i guess it is good strategy. :) But i also lost rank, and thats not cool. What more could i do? Clearly there was no one else to save or help, i cannot do gens or anything really. I was dead, because he found me first. Thats it.

If someone is on hook 3 times in a row, there should be no rank drop and some bonus BP would be also nice.

  • @Crypticghoul said:

This post is not meant to rant about Tunneling but rather the fact that the 8k category cap still exists for survivor and the fact that there's no category spillover like there is for killer.

There are some games where the killer just decides they're going to tunnel you and run at you all game and I'm really getting annoyed with the fact that when I last a long time my boldness caps out early and I get no further points. While I'm running around I get absolutely zero objective or altruism and survival is pretty much up to my team doing gens during that time to power the gates.

I love getting chased when I play survivor but it's frustrating that in the above scenario I'll maybe get between 10k and 15k blood points because the killer decided they want me and would not let me get any in the other categories.

It'd be so nice if every generator, heal, or unhook done while getting chased gave you some points in their respective categories. Survivor gets so little blood points compared to killer and WGLF is brutal to stack up. 10-15k is enough for like 3 nodes on the blood web which gets you so little on the blood web that it actually feels bad to spend after a game.
