  • This is a video game, video games are played meant to be fun. If they aren’t having fun, they will leave, and that is completely justified imo.

This is not suppose to be a competitive game with crazy attention towards MMR like most FPS games. Though there is MMR, we don’t even have access to view it, so that says enough already.

Does it suck to be a man down in a match? Absolutely, but it isn’t that extreme. If you want to focus on winning instead of having fun, get a SWF together and your DC issue… will no longer be an issue.

1, i would argue billy is harder (and much less rewarding)

2, you can't complain about genrush when you tunnel. Think about it. When there are 4 players in the game and you ignore (tunnel out of your vision) 3 of them, then what are they supposed to do? Loot chests and run around map like headless chicken?

3, if you hard tunnel, you are creating bad experience for 4 other players (5 if you so much hate being genrushed). Being tunneled out from game leaves sour taste for most people and just sitting on gens is considered one of the most boring things in game. Should it matter to you personally? Sure it shouldn't. But it should matter to devs, because it influences their playerbase and the amount of money they will earn.

4, in the end this tactics are also counterproductive, because in the end you will get one of several unfun results:

A, you win easily, because you delete someone early making the game very easy = not satisfying

B, you get mad, because survivors will taunt you for it (because you force them into unfun game)

C, you get genrushed and still loose

D, you will get looped for 5 gens never getting single down (meaning you get mad that survivors are OP and killers have no chance no matter what they do). It doesn't matter that you previously got survivors that made same number of mistakes you did in chases or that they knew only as many tricks as you do. You will not get those any more. You steamrolled those in point A. Now you are high elo so you have to know any miniscule trick and play near perfect - because that's how your opponents will play.

I think the root of all problems some killers feel in this forum about survivors (applies after later patches, most notably 6.1) is related to D, case (but not exclusively - both sides can bring nasty things and both sides do that. Survivor's version of tunneling is hyperfocus with BNP in a group of 4 same-minded people (comms are very much not condition) for very similar result).

Billy is my second choice to play as and I would argue against that because he either curves or back revs (Don’t get me wrong curve Billy is difficult)

I wasn’t so much complaining about gen-rushing but rather using it as a comparison to tunneling, but on the survivor side.

Tunneling at 5 gens, sucks, and I wouldn’t even try to justify it.

But tunneling in the terms of having X amount of hooks at the same time as X amount of gens done. Do you think that justifies tunneling?

I think what DBD would do very good at least for an huge amount of players would be a complete different game mode. Maybe time based that you have every month a different mode. Something what brings a bit freshness and focues only on chases. Or the complete opposite, a hiding mode where the last surv wins. Maybe just with certain allowed perks or a no perk challenge mode. I think there would be tons of ideas to realise this.

I haven’t put much thought into different modes.

But I am a fan of the idea of adding new modes to the game.

tunneling is toxic because of this players quit this game and newbies pass by, soon the game will die if they don't fix problems like camping and tunneling

”Soon”. The game has been on Steam’s Top Sellers for like 4/5 years. Tunneling has been an issue for just as long.

Based on another thread on this forum, I came up with an idea for a rework/buff to keys:

-As well as opening the hatch, keys can additionally be used to unlock chests (and maybe the exit gate) at a faster rate

-Keys are no longer consumed by opening hatch/chests/gates. Instead, opening these props consumes charges from the key in the same way aura reading does, the number of charges required equals the number of seconds the action normally takes (just like every other item). The Milky Glass addon is reworked to cause the key to consume less charges while performing unlocking actions.

-Different keys have different speed modifiers while performing unlocking actions

I was initially going to propose specific numbers but I'm not going to pretend to be smart enough to know what the best numbers are for this idea.

Keys are very underused and can actually bring a lot of value to the table which baffles me as to why they are rare.

I like the idea of reworking keys because maybe we’ll see more use out of them.

Picked up a challenge to blind a killer. Had 4+ moments and actually blinded only ONCE. It felf like Lightborn in play, but the case.

I believe there is a bug where even if you shine the flashlight directly in there face, it won’t blind them.

  • I always seem to get a skill check when the killer pressures me off a gen.

  • Anything that can get Hillbilly more cosmetics, I am a fan of.

  • @Wowie said:

There's no reason to tunnel at 5 gens, which is what most people who tunnel do despite playing a strong killer and having meta loadouts.

It's a completely boring way to play on both sides, because rather than actually getting better at killer you're taking the half-assed route and ruining the match for everyone.

There's a time to tunnel, sure, but most killers do not wait until it is justified.

Also, Blight pfp talking about how tunneling is okay LOL!!!

    Maybe get good, stinky.

Well, if it helps you understand (It won’t). I play Blight because he has the highest skill ceiling over any other killer, and yea, he brings great results.

  • I do recall Coupe being broken right now.

But 5 stacks IMO, isn’t enough to be used as a perk slot and is rather used as a meme perk.

The survivor solo buff is intentional to buff killers in the future.

It seems to me that they will add a basekit corrupt intervention for 30-60 seconds

    Did they say this?

  • The solo queue buffs were a QoL change rather than a balance. It was very needed for solo survivors and SWFs aren’t really going to need it because they already have verbal communications which tells them a lot more than just generator progression.

In the end, the HUD is just information so I think people are overreacting how much it affects their gameplay.

Yeah, the map is not so good too but the knight is the main part of the chapter u_u so he really should be reworked, he is too boring to play in my opinion

    Well said.

  • The Knight doesn’t need a rework, the entire chapter does.

  • Ngl, I have no issues with the current system, but that’s an unpopular opinion.

  • Not sure how long ago this VOD was from, but I recall them saying they deliberately saying they had no plans to change Michael.

  • Everyone can agree that tunneling sucks to go against, and some could even argue it makes them feel guilty to use against the opposing team, but this is not the way to go about it.

I know you wanted to do something with toxicity in Eng game chat, but ffs who did that? Who the hell programmed that absolutely atrocious and obnoxious consoring? Even child with only Word knowladge about would program better censoring system. I wrote Damn... I could easily secaped and just because I was greedy enough I got hooked. Do you want to know what words were consored and why because of that was censored whole post? "Damn", "Escaped", Easily wasn´t surprisingly, I got "hooked" as well was censored. Can you tell me why the hell you made that censorship like that? If you´re doing censorship like that I´m not surprised by the actual state of the game.

Wasn’t there a clip of Dowsey saying “gg” and it got blocked?

No and it seems you're off topic, if you'd wish for that to be an option then make that a suggestion.

I think the point they’re making is that if survivors can disable this killer, then the killer should be able to disable repetitive perks like DH, Adrenaline, etc.

  • I do like the idea of reducing the chance of facing the same killer the next game, but banning a killer out of your queue would slow down queues for a lot of people.

I could already imagine Nurse, Blight, and Spirit being the top 3 “banned” killer picks, and as strong as they are, queues do not need to be increased again.

  • I don’t have an issue with what we have now, Ngl.

  • Understandable, but as a solo Q main who gets some “uniquely skilled teammates”, I wouldn’t turn it off lmao.

  • Queues are typically 10 seconds - 3 minutes depending on who has the match making incentives.

If tunneling is such a huge issue, learn the tiles and don’t die immediately.

I didn’t want to say the last part, but it needed to be said.

  • @Yoshirama said:

Tunneling is a problem, not matter if people say is a strategy.

Camping and tunneling at endgame is something valid because what else can a killer do?

But when you wait a long queue just for a game that ends in 3 minutes just because the killer is too lazy to play and start tunneling at the beginning is not fun and healthy for the game

so yes, tunneling needs to be punished in a good way, in a way that survivors can exploit and abuse

Long queue? Unless you have cross play off, queues are typically less than 5 minutes, and less than 20 seconds for the side that has the BP incentive.

  • I found this quite humorous actually.

  • Why do we need to change tunneling again?

  • Nobody quote me on this, but I recall mobile having this implementation and I thought it was pretty neat.

In reality though, unless your solo team is full of sweats, they’ll probably just use what they queued up with because of challenges or they just want to use what they think is fun.

A cool idea, none the less.

  • I like the idea of making 1 survivor-map offering a set percentage and not guaranteed unless X amount of survivors have the same offering.

And then of course sacrificial wards cancel all offerings unless all 4 survivors have the offering.

The whole map banning idea is not something I’d be an advocate for though.

Id say one offering for “this map” should be 25%, then 50% for 2, 75% for 3 offerings, and 100% for 4.

  • Tunneling a very upsetting to play against as survivor, but I think this implementation is a bit excessive.

Id have to agree with sanees. Tunneling is a frowned upon but fair play style. Tunneling is typically implemented in my games when I am being gen rushed and have to make up for some hooks.

If you remove tunneling from the game, survivors would have to lose something as well because it would not be balanced.

This is coming from a survivor main btw.

  • Camping and tunneling is the answer to all DBD questions.

  • Dead By Daylight is not the only game that does this. The idea behind limited cosmetics is to show that you are a “veteran” or “you were here for this event”.

In the end though, I doubt this is on their list of priorities (If it’s even on the list), because it makes them more money, and they are just in-game items that don’t affect your real life (As much I hate not having Legacy Claudette).

  • As annoying as I find Wesker, I don't believe he is incredibly overpowered.

Blight however, is a strong killer without addons, and several of his addons could pass for S or A tier on anyones addon list.

  • Blight's wait to swing at the last minute because it decreases that chance of getting flared (basically spinning one direction and going the other when Blight swings).

  • I use to use the perk in every build. I only used it to gain knowledge of the tiles and now that I know them, it’s just a matter of if my team had already used that pallet. Which brings up another thing. Analyze tiles before you connect them, not last second while the killer is on your tail.

I haven’t returned back to the perk because once you convince yourself you don’t need it, trust me, you don’t.

  • Then again, they aren’t that useful. You spend 3-5 seconds just collecting, just to get a short speed boost. Only really worth grabbing if you are near a dead-zone and actually have enough time to grab it (very unlikely in the middle of a chase).

It does sound great but I agree it doesn’t suit her. This music would be a better fit on a “big killer”. It sounds like the music that would be played in a movie where someone was being chased by a large monster.

I would say Nemesis but he of course has his own music.

  • I am so glad this got brought up.

I am not opposed to her chase music, I personally just think it is extremely loud, and dear I say unbearable sometimes.

I sure as heck wouldn’t turn down my volume because BHVR only has one volume option in the game and that doesn’t really seem smart.

  • W thread, remove green keys.

I really suggest that you play as a nurse, on a regular basis, so that you can eventually face more and more powerful teams.

You will then realize how absurd and irrelevant these proposals are.

What changes do you propose? Because she definitely needs them.

It is not the nurse's fault that she is playing players who are not competent against her.

It's not the nurse's fault if she faces teams that are vocal, but are made up of survivors playing like potatoes.

It's not the nurse's fault that some survivors would rather complain than challenge themselves and train/improve their skills with this killer.

    Etc.

If you play alone, or play with mates who are not good, or if you are not goot against her, it is not her fault.

I play Nurse quite a bit, and I find this quite humerous.

    To each their own, though.

It's most unfun playstyle for that survivor to experience and very unhealthy for game to happen at 5 gens. Survivor should have strong mechanic to protect from it which would make other playstyle more viable. Many killers has to set their own rules when to use it to make it fair and justified. Though that was more in the past usually games are tunneling right at the start now. Many perks and changes just now encourage to tunnel/camp right at the start well that would be okay if the game is supposed to be miserable experience but if it suppose to be fun then that is exactly opposite. I think tunneling should be made very punishing but killers should be rewarded going for another survivor. Every killer should get big speed boost after hooking survivor and downing another survivor should automatically regress ramdom gen by 25%. Corrupt and BBQ should be basekit.

I don’t mean to be rude, but are you serious about that last part?

His new addon allows him to return to his starting point once his 2 blinks are done, while having 1 blink reloaded.

On the one hand, this does not allow her to snipe for 40m, because the nurse, even with this addon, will never be able to go further than the maximum distance she could go without this addon.

That's why even on the PTB, against a survivor who holds W, this addon was useless.

    Be careful not to confuse:

    TOTAL distance traveled

    and

MAXIMUM distance from the starting point

On the other hand, this addon has become completely useless because, once back at her starting point, she has, in any case, only one blink available. And with only 1 blink, it is very unlikely that she will be able to hit the survivor, unless he plays like a potato.

Is there not an addon that allows you to fully charge a blink, and then do another fully charged blink after that?

  • I am by no means a Twins main, but I haven’t noticed any mobility bugs when playing as her or Victor, however I do know which bug you are referring to and it does seem very irritating.

  • I don’t recall lanterns giving cosmetics, but there are like 2-3 lanterns per much that give you a considerably large speed boost.

And if they do help out with cosmetic gathering, then rare they should be.

  • In the end, tunneling is just a play style, and if players can’t handle losing to a very frowned upon play style, then don’t know what to tell them. (Not directing this towards you)

  • I also think it would be very useful to solo queue considering it tells your other teammates what your gen is at, but if you see that 2 people are working on a generator at 2 different completion percentages, you could put 2 & 2 together and realize they are on separate gens which I would find very useful.

  • When the Mid Chapter PTB was released, you had survivors taking upwards of 5-6 hits before going down. I see where you’re coming from though, but making Off the Record not put you into deep wound would be revisiting that same issue from the PTB.

However, I do like the idea of buffing DS again as it is next to useless against many killers.

  • This has nothing to do with her power, and everything to do with her chase music. Am I the only one that finds her new chase music to be so loud to the point where I don’t even want to play with head phones on?

Someone will probably say turn down the volume but DBD only has 1 volume option, and it’d turn down everything in the game including foot steps, groaning, generators, etc.
