So, are we looking at thw winner? Because the way BHVR are relaying their message, it seems this entry into a cosmetic competition has a guarantee of appearing in-game; therefore the winner.
Well they want o make it a winner but the artist has to say yes. Logistics...

I never said he was breaking any rules. The topic here was fun, not legality of gameplay styles.
It's not about breaking the rules. It's balancing the game to force unfun gameplay. What the devs balance goes hand in hand with how fun the gameplay is for both sides.
-
There are some good ideas. The kill by your own hands is an interesting one. But it's a Hex. So there shouldn't be a requirement. Just a different way to how it activates maybe? I don't have other ideas so the gates being powered is the activation. It could use an update like some other perks.
Maybe some ideas:
-Survivor who cleanses the Hex is exposed for 60 sec.?
-that hook state idea from OP is interesting
-Boon totems are negated when activated?
-survivors are exposed when exit gates are touched? [Forcing the killer to synergise with another perk]
I can't think of other ideas. But I really like the Mori idea.

Well here is the thing survivors refusing to play games where they arent favored.
Every other asymetrical where the power role is killer failed, due survivors refusing to play.
DbD's success is that the game caters towards them, recently killers got several buffs and the results survivors leaving the game
Well I can guess that there are 10 times more survivors than killers on waiting for games. So I think they can manage some tweaks here and there. But many times devs just revert some other change that penalises killer. Case in point, Twins, Wraith, killing Oni with boon totems, and more. So many examples through history.

So far they’ve announced nothing but killer buffs for the next patch, including a heavy CoH nerf. But have you not experienced the fun that is being hard camped and tunneled on the other side, which you say and do? Bet those survivors are having loads of fun too!
That is the player playing within the DEVELOPER'S RULES. It comes back around to game balance. Not the individuals.
-
Ah ok thanks. I haven't played since Resident Evil chapter. That Meg was elusive hahah
-
Not really. Hit detection is weird on both sides. The survivor animations are a bit awkward to look at, now that I played with game a bit.more. I am a console peasant. I have a PC but my main account is console.

New hitboxes have moved to the front of the survivor, so if someone is running perpendicular to you, you have to shoot a bit in front of them.
A bunch of fancy shots have been patched up which is an actual shadownerf :(
Aw cmon no way
... that limits him
-
Possibly the servers aren't sync'd with the new animations and hitboxes as part of the problem. But yes it is a problem we have to deal with until a hotfix, I guess?
-
Ok. This is the reason why I went to the forums. To realise that yes, trouble in those realms are big enough to be disabled.
-
After 500 hrs, i did not realise you can counter BBQ and Chillinby going into a locker

Just my 2 cents on the proposal:
it actually sounds like a pretty cool change.
as survivor, mainly solo i would use this perk while i never touched original OoO outside of Lauries adept.
As killer i don’t think this proposed version will be as annoying anymore.
one thing though: the survivor may circumvent the aura reveal with lockers. Maybe that’s intentional, but maybe the timer could also be stopped while in a locker to make the playstyle revolve more around the perk.
Experienced survivors already go into a locker to counter BBQ and Chilli. I think the aura every x amount of seconds is an overdesign. Just my opinion.

That; is incredibly wrong, lots of Killers have add ons that allow them to control aura reading without being handicapped like Myers is.
Both Wraith and Pig have aura reading add ons that function like scratched mirror, (i.e using the killers power) The Pig has Amanda's Letter, and Wraith has "All Seeing" - Blood. Very strong add ons in the hands of good killers.
The Oni has Renjiro's Bloody Glove, this does require an indoors map offering and intentionally letting the survivors bleed without collecting the blood, doing so will eventually give you complete map awareness.
The Plague has Black Incense, all she has to do is make them sick and she has wall hacks on them.
The Clown has Cigar Box, which is actually really strong when used on indoor maps.
PH, Deathslinger,DG,and GF technically have their own versions, but they're too situational to be worth adding to the list.
The point being, Myers is not the only killer who can control aura reading. Many actually can and some are actually quite strong. It's also worth mentioning that OoO doesn't work on Myers or stealth killers, you can't see them but they can see you when they use their power, putting the survivor at a severe disadvantage.
I knew you were going to mention the other aura reading. The survivor version has a bigger radius than the killers. 12 meter all seeing? 12 meter letter? Now 8 meter Blight? There is a reason why I didn't mention the other killers. Meyers has THE best range out of all of them he can actually control the power. Plaugue needs to puke and survs can cleanse. Survs can avoid getting hit by Oni. Stealth is very advantageous to stealth players because of the maps, especially in open areas. It is a very good time waster for killers. Adding a perk, where a survivor can preemptively make a killer waste, time at best, adding an aura, or can relay info to their team at worst. The thing works when the killer isn't necessarily looking a the survivor as well. There is a reason why it is banned in tournaments.
Going back to your point on the killer's aura reading. The stealth killers' aura add ons do not matter because the PIG and Wraith are Undetectable. OoO is in a bad spot with them anyway. As for terror radius killers, this new effect is perfect. They all have some sort of aura reading. This new effect uses THEIR aura reading AGAINST them by giving you vital info. They see you and in turn you see them as much as they see you. The new effect normalises the playing field against Oni's and Plague's [or any other] add ons. Also makes it consistent with other killers and perks that don't have a terror radius but no undetectable effects [ie. Oblivious]. As it is controlled wall hacks for the Survivor during a chase.

I do not like the new OOO.
First, it removes all sort of skillful play on the part of the Survivor. There are many ways to use OOO and some of them require skill to pull off, like using it in a stealth build.
Turning it into a perk that just automatically fires off every 30 seconds removes all skill from it. It just happens. Unless you are the type to get into a locker every 30 seconds (I know Dwight is already getting a hardon for this perk) basically this perk is just going to keep going off forever until someone else DS's the killer, and that removes all manner of skillful decision making when managing the killer's knowledge of your whereabouts.
Worse, the new version cedes all control to the killer. The killer is the one that determines which aura reading perks he has and basically now that the perk activates whenever your aura is revealed, now the power to activate the perk comes from the killer rather than from you. I get that after scouting the killer's perks (like figuring out he has Nurse's calling for instance) gives you the card to heal while in TR to see where the killer is, but overall it just feels bad that you are losing most of your control over the perk. This just feels too much like a gifthorse for the killer, which should never be the case for a perk. A perk is supposed to be an advantage for you, not for your opponent.
This also just makes it plain unsuitable for Stealth builds, which weren't even the problem. OOO is problematic due to SWF comm abuse; its usage as a stealth perk in Solo Q has never been an issue, but this change completely guts the non-problematic usage while still allowing for SWF abuse.
My recommendation:
* Take the current iteration but keep the "you must be looking at the killer to reveal aura" for the 30 second reveal. This way stealth player can still make use of the perk and have control of when it activates. It'll still be significantly weaker than the current version and will still remove the problem of SWF abuse.
Meyers is the only killer that can control aura reading [scratched mirror]. One killer with a short lunge and slow speed vs one survivor that can see the killer at all times to do a stealthy play [alternatively tell the team what the killer is doing]. Against a solo, it is annoying. On a SWF, which the killer cannot control, it is much worse.
-
@disgruntled32 said:
This is my opinion on OoO, I believe that it should maintain as is. With only one survivor having it versus a possibility of a SWF running it. There are counters to it( I.E Running Third Seal) to prevent that from occurring.
It's a Hex. Experienced survivors will find it.

The OP not realising the actual issue means, the suggestion is irrelevant. Look, just because you think you have no issues, doesn't mean OTHER people don't have issues

I just hope when the devs look into Demo, they take a listen to his noise from the killer's perspective

Yeah as a fellow console player the info is just wayyyy too spread out especially since i have a good sized TV
Like most games im literally only looking at the gen icon once or twice that is how out of the way it is and survivors are getting healed and picked up without me noticing since it is so out of the way.
This rarely happened with the old UI because i could keep track of all the important info easily since i just had to glance at the corner of my screen and since i had some attention diverted to it at most times i rarely missed status changes to survivors.
Whoever designed this UI had no idea what they were doing or at least had no idea what UI design fit this game.
Good points. Especially on the status icons where I, too, don't notice the change in status. Only because it is not in peripheral vision when checking other important info, like how many gens are left. Because it is not in the general location of the screen; but spread out to blindspots of your eye.
-
That first effect, is brilliant! If the killer has and aura reading perk, it is fair, I think. The aura reveal every 30 seconds, I am not sure about that. I guess it's for when the killer doesn't have aura perks... maybe 40 secs? An absolute bad idea [and one that can make people angry] is completely powering through Undetectable to counter Wraith or Meyers. Why did I write that? Just to put an idea that can make the perk absurd

Yes. Info is spread out all over the screen. Also I do notice that the status icons is hard to notice in the peripheral vision. That's a good point too.

That would be nice, but I doubt they will do it . I just have so much doubt that anything good will ever happen in this game....the DS and OoO changes that are not even out yet gave me hope but then this update came along...
They just take so long with these updates that it feels like they don't care much.

If colorblind people calmed down, they would've got nothing from this company.
BHVR's track record shows us that calming down is definitely not the way to go.
If you want to be passive and submissive, that's your call.
If a twitter account with over 70k didn't publicly call Almo out, they wouldn't have said 'we've been working on a cor blind mode for months.' Yeah. The OP doesn't understand BHVR's modus operandi.
-
Eh...... no.no. People since the PTB have been giving feed back on the new UI. These devs aren't the only ones that have done UI work for other projects and they keep saying it is not as complicated as they imply. It isn't like 3d modeling or animation.
-
Like... a good step is to make the gen counter where the killer power is... instead of up on the screen...

And over half of those may be god pallets too hahaha

@nickofford said:
The Map has literally 4 vaults and two of those are unsafe , they made the map more visible and brighter too , giving less or more unsafe pallets would make it even worse for survivors than Hawkins
Not in my RNGs I have dealt with. Pallets are close together with many super safe pallets all over the map.
-
Yes. Like there is even at least 5 or 6 god pallets, in my 3 games I played in that map [I played 3 trails as killer on the Assylum maps as well. A lot of corners to get stuck on and hooks look like they blend in the environment.]
-
Damn. That sucks that the UI did that to you. To me, it only annoyed me.

I'm agreeing with OP. Playing as Demogorgon is very tiring and unpleasant because of constant onslaught of noises coming from him. You have repetitive stomping, loud piercing shrieks when kicking gen, during Shred and after hitting a Survivor, its too much. I really want to play more as Demo but the sound overload really puts me off.
Yes. All of this. Yes.
-
@Mikeasaurus said:
Demogorgon is supposed to sound like this. He/She/It isn't a human. It's a beast. So yes it's going to make a lot of sound because usually that's what animals do when hunting, or in this case, a cross-dimensional creature. Also, Doctor has extremely heavy breathing when he's walking, the same as Wraiths growling sounds.
Yes. He is loud, I am ok with him screaming when hitting or missing. It's the noises that happen when I play as him. His footsteps, breathing, gurgling with your teleport is available and more is too much altogether. Oni, Huntress, Doc, and Wraith do not have noise overload like Demo, in my experience. I want to play as Demo but it's uncomfortable at times and i have to use a perk slot to make it a bit better for my gameplay.

Unsure if OP means to tone down the sounds from the Killer's perspective
He is kind of noisy which makes it hard to listen out for survivors at times. If he had keen animal senses he should be able to hear things around him so might make sense to tone down his sounds a bit from the perspective of the person controlling him.
Yes. Thank you. You response is what I am saying.

@offwhiteknight said:
I love playing Demo, but he does need to be quieter. His "stealth" coming out of his portals is trash.
Plus his footsteps are loud so they will hear him arriving. He is totally no stealth killer. More of an 'oblivious' killer. Which is why I put retribution.

Well if it wins the game who cares? Totems and chests sure as hell aren't gonna power the gates and worrying about 12 hooking probably isn't gonna win you the game either. I'm out to win and it's not my job to make the game fun for the other side that's totally on the other players for what decisions they make in game and the outcome that happens from it.
There you go. You reinforce my point. The OP is saying it's boring when killers slugg. You think I'm complaining? LOL
-
@Hyd said:
Don't get caught next time. Loop better. Leave that gen sooner when you hear heartbeats. Don't stupidly group up around the Killer to try and stop a hook. Etc.
Killer is doing their job, while you are failing at yours.
I hate to say it but...git gud/do better next time is appropriate here.
Or bring Unbreakable to annoy the killer LOL
-
Slugging for the 4k is the equivalent of repairing gens without doing anything else.

Trust me I agree but they dont let us know everything for all we know the next chapter DS could be fixed or other changes. They cant change every thing at once because it requires testing through PTB and they have to do it in increments
They can try to skip a chapter. I haven't spent any money on DbD since the last rift because I'm not playing the game as much. It might help in the long run instead of increments... but I guess investors wouldn't want that?
-
Almo said the killer can do too much with 60 seconds of Pop and yet had NO ANSWER for DS. Whereas the killer can't even use it when the gates are powered and whereas survivors can be healed, work on a gen, save a hooked one and still be have 15 seconds left to be grabbed or leave when the gates are open.

Can you, (mods), explain how exactly this information gets passed to the higher ups? We're aware that you have noticed the influx of threads, but how do we know that our posts are actually getting recognized by the dev team, if they are at all?
We won't know until they update or aknowledge on a stream or a bigger platform than just a forum

Protesting by not spending money shouldn't be censored. That's a right and a common and peaceful way to protest.
But things like protesting by tunneling a certain character to death is a negative protest and hurts some innocent players.
Everyone has a right to protest in not spending money...
Also a legit practice in capitalism... you don't pay if the product doesn't deserves the money you give for services or good.
-
I have not paid money since the last rift and I only play for like an hour because I have a battle pass to complete in Apex. Mind you, I have unistalled during the last pass. I haven't had as much fun as I used to. Honestly, it's some players that make this game bareable not really the direction of how the devs update it.
-
Well the art team is awesome. I will always praise the art team for their work. However the changes to perks are very biased and inconsistent. How are they going to change Pop without touching DS. There are things that is abusable that favors the survivors a lot more than the killers. The last update that was genuinely awesome was the Endgame collapse and only because BOTH SIDES can control when to end the game [or speed it along to the end].
-
You need optimization and condensed assests and coding to bring it, up to par with crossplay. Especially when PC is the superior machine...
-
Any other stories about crossplay?
-
Toolbox changes, add on and hook sabo changes are good. The hooks respawn in 30 secs. Caleb is fun. People need to realise he needs to be played a bit differently and alter the builds suited to his power. You have to take into account that you reel in survivors and that is part of the chase. You can't talk about the killer without the other changes that are in the PTB.
