  • As a competitive player who was a Twins main for quite some time and a person who heard a lot from competitive Hag players they all fall in the category of "all or nothing", they either get a clean 4k if survivors make mistakes or 0 hooks if survivors know how to counter them.

Hag: The main problem I see with Hag is that she is a killer that requires A LOT of practice and game knowledge to succeed. You must know every map of the game and good trap placements for each of them, you must have good reflexes to insta teleport and overall need a lot of micro and macro skills... only to be countered by teams who play well around your traps and harass you with flashlights, no matter how good you are.

Twins: Twins rely heavily on slugging and keeping people injured which can be easily countered by anti-slug builds or teams who always play in pairs, bodyblock and heal quickly. Also many people find them super unfun to play as and against.

Not to mention that the anti-camp and boon totens meta hurt them both immensely. Overall those are two killers that, in their current state, no matter how good you are you get heavily countered by good, organized teams.

Hag specially is 99% dead in the competitive scene due to the huge amount of time and effort you need to invest into mastering her only to get 0 hooks against the best teams.

I personally gave up on Twins due to the fact they can't do anything against competent teams and the new meta sucks for them.

  • I know many people are expecting Legacy 2.0, which in my opinion would be the best reward, but it's just not viable for behaviour to do such a thing since the game have WAY too much characters compared to 2016 where Legacy was introduced, so the amount of work they would have to go through to design free cosmetics for every original character would be humongous (and yes, original characters only since they can't add cosmetics to licensed characters without permission).

In my opinion, since the whole point of the prestige rework is to reduce the grind, they are likely going to give every character with P3 a permanent bloodpoint multiplier (50%-100%) and/or give a special prestige crest to people so you can show off that you prestiged before the rework.

This would be enough for me, as long as I can show off to people I prestiged someone before the rework and can get extra bloodpoints to grind infinite prestige on my favorite characters I will be more than happy.

Doesn't change the fact I would like Legacy 2.0 tho.

  • I've been a killer main for as long as I can remember and I can just say that practice makes perfect. Sure sometimes BMing can be frustrating at times, but honestly whenever survivors are trying to make a fool of me (by t-bagging, clicking etc.) I just take it as an incentive to play even better and leave them with their tails between their legs in the end.

I like killer for the challenge and the attention, the whole game depends on you and you are the center of the action, you don't depend on anyone but yourself and it's completely up to you to improve, I think this is the charm of playing killer.

My favorite killer are Pig, Wraith and Demogorgon, I started playing Pig as my first killer and I have loads of fun with her, same goes for Wraith.

Getting to rank 1 is just a matter of learning how to chase, how to prioritize and how to be efficient with your time, this comes with practice and honestly BMing shouldn't get in your way to mastering killer.

    1. Oni
    2. Feng. Claudette
    3. Pig. Pig, Wraith and Demo

The meta on the killer side is a free win and it needs nerfing. It's totally broken.

Ever considered leaving the generator once it reaches 70%? Or finding ruin on the first place?

NOED is one of the unhealthiest perks in the game. I'm having a really hard time understanding some people's arguments against it.

"Just cleanse totems" --> You all know for sure that it is highly unrealistic to expect all 5 totems to be cleansed without dedicating your entire build and time into it. Sometimes you can't find each of them on some maps and sometimes you'll go out of your way to do 4 but the last one will STILL trigger NOED. You literally have to ignore your main objectives, gens, helping other survivors and run around the entire map taking your time cleansing all 5 totems. Well you probably won't even reach the endgame if you play like that. Also, cleansing dull totems doesn't reward you in anyway expect for BPs and a potential NOED.

"NOED isn’t even a good perk" --> Just because you don't come across NOED as a rank 1 player (red ranks), doesn't mean it isn't used widely by all killers in purple and green ranks. Just because you know how to counter NOED doesn't mean the killers aren't rewarded free kills on lower ranks. Sometimes survivors don't know what to do and that they can go down with an easy basic attack. Some of y'all need to think outside of the red rank bubble. NOED is super common on lower ranks, you basically assume the killer has it.

"NOED is inconsistent" --> Never have I ever been a part of a game where NOED didn't trigger and reward the killer at least 1k. I only play solo and expecting all other survivors to find and cleanse each totem is unrealistic. It's just so unfair that you have to go through the whole game and all your efforts to escaping is thrown away by A PERK.

I am trying to be objective here. Before you assume: I play both survivor and killer equally. I see problem perks for both sides. But NOED is the CHEAPEST out of them all. For example: even though functionally similar, I don't mind Devour Hope AT ALL! Because the killer actually EARNED that power and had to progress in the game. It actually adds some excitement into the game to see everyone trying their best to find and get rid of the Devour Hope totem. It's very powerful but still fair. Meanwhile NOED is like: "here get these free kills because you reached... the endgame...?" It's just extremely unhealthy... It's a widely known stereotype that you expect the killer to have NOED if they are doing badly during game... Isn't that enough by itself to show what a joke of a perk it is...

Yeah, I also think it's really unfair that you have to go through the whole game and all your efforts to get a kill are thrown away by a clutch endgame DS.

    • Remove BBQ, low effort perk

    • Remove mindbreaker, exhaustion effect is outdated this is too overpowered

    • Remove blood echo, don't wanna deal with it

    • Remove hex the third seal, it applies the OP blindness effect for low effort

    • Nerf spirit, nerf freddy, nerf oni, nerf blight, nerf nurse. just nerf anyone that isn't basekit wraith

    • Remove bamboozle abusing infinites actually takes skill

    • Remove devour hope, cause boring

    • Remove noed, cause boring

    • Increase gen repair speed by 200% for every survivor that dies

    Then we'll talk

I never thought I'd live long enough to see someone complain about Mindbreaker LOL. Really hope this is an ironic post

  • I couldn't agree more with the OPs post. I absolutely despise keys and I always run Franklin's when I see one, if they have no mercy for the killer by using a key I won't have mercy for them by using Franklin's

  • I see a lot of people talking about Sloppy Butcher, but don't forget that he has an add on called "Blind Warrior - White" that applies the effects of sloppy on surprise attacks, essentially giving you the same benefits and freeing a perk slot.

I personally like to run Nurse's + STBFL + Pop + BBQ alongside with a Windstorm and BW - White, since this gives you a little bit of everything.

A lot of killers do the same thing, they will GG EZ you after they get their 4K. Funny hting is sometimes they don't even get a 4K but they'll GG EZ you anyway.

Toxic people will be toxic, and there's a lot of them on both sides.

I won't deny that I can be toxic sometimes, but the ONLY two situations where I am "toxic" is when survivors escape with a key or when I get a 4k against a key team. The reason for it is because I really despise keys and I think they are super unhealthy for the game. Since I'm a killer that never uses NOED or Moris and try my best to play fair I, at the very least, expect survivors to not use keys, whenever I see one I use Franklin's.

1- If survivors escape with a key I say:

    "As the poet once said"

"If with a key thou escaped, hard thou will be butt raped"

"Just don't go complaining about Moris or NOED if you use a stupid thing like that"

    2- If I get a 4k against a key team

    "gg wp"

"People who use keys deserve no mercy"

Those are the only situations I can think about tho.

I'm surprised this is a thing, I have never in my 4,000 hours been called trash or anything really for getting DS'd, let alone seeing something like that often. I have to wonder how so many players get so many end game chats at all since crossplay when I either get the cold silence of consoles or just 'ggs' from everyone.

Maybe it's a regional thing and west coast people just don't feel the need to say much.

I think this might be a regional thing indeed, I'm from Brazil and I play on the South American server and this behaviour is pretty common there, specially when I get matched against players from Chile, Argentina or Bolivia where they usually call me a "monkey" for being brazilian.

How about we don't compare a perk in a video game to a terminal illness, seems like a great start.

    Done

  • Burger King Myers - A troll/challenge build for The Shape that consists in using the Vanity Mirror + Judith's Tombstone add ons to massively reduce your speed and turn you into a very slow killer with a short lunge. This is normally done as a challenge or as a troll build.

Adept/Adepting - A term used to refer to a survivor or killer that are using their 3 unique perks in order to get the adept achievement.

Bodyblocking - A strategy done by both killers and survivors that consists in using your character (body) to block your opponent's path. Survivors normally use it to prevent killers from hooking survivors and killers use it to block windows, pallets, exit gates and the hatch.

Sandbagging - Intentionally trying to get your teammates killed or reveal their location to the killer. This is normally done by doing loud noise actions near a teammate to get the killer's attention or by bodyblocking them or dropping a pallet on their faces during a chase.

Do you ever let anyone boop the snoot as a pig main? I love pigs for that <3 especially if I’m the last survivor.

I play on the South American server, so it's not a very common practice around here. I guess it only happened once during my entire 465 hours of play and back then I didn't know what booping the snoot was, but if it happens again I'd be more then glad to let people do it with me and let them escape.

  • NOED is fine as it is, the killer is going to be running only 3 perks for the entirety of the match. If NOED was removed cleansing dull totens would lose it's purpose. I personally run small game in every one of my matches because doing totens gives loads of points and I LOVE mocking the killer for using NOED after we cleansed all 5 totens. If you don't like NOED just use a map or run small game like myself.

    1. BT: Don't go for the unhooked survivor; Count to 15 before hitting him; Activate your stealth if you are a stealth killer
    2. DS: Once a survivor gets unhooked start counting to 60 (70 for good measure) to know when his DS will have expired
    3. DH: JUST WAIT FOR EVERY SURVIVOR TO USE DEAD HARD!
    4. Sprint Burst: Don't swing if they are walking or just chase a different survivor if one has Sprint Burst

Tbh, complaining about these perks just means you suck at the game.

    1. that's not ok and i don't condone it
    2. Not everyone has the time and money to buy all killers and level them up just to stand a threat against the survivors.

i can put a solution right here:I may be new to the game but i know about the most used survivor perks, DH or SB, BT,DS. Those perks need some sort of balancing. Also there needs to be a "game chat" so people can communicate. But I'll get to that point later. Another point I'll get back to is the flashlight/toolbox meta.

First let's talk about both dead hard and sprint burst. While dead hard hasn't given me much of an issue so I can't speak about it. But sprint burst is way too strong. I have played both survivor and killer for many games and I have figured out that sprint burst kinda needs a nerf. Here are my adjustments to the perk

    • Sprint Burst lasts 1 second instead of 3 (increases by half a second for each upgrade so 1, 1.5, 2)
    • Sprint Burst also has a higher cooldown
    • Sprint Burst like dead hard has a button you can press to activate it instead of it activating by just running

Secondly we have borrowed time. Borrowed time is a anti-camp/tunnel mechanic but it lasts too long IMO. Here are my changes for that perk

    • Borrowed time should last 5, 7, 10 seconds but the deep wounds should have a longer time before you go down in case of tunnelers

Finally and my most hated perk as a killer main, Decisive Strike. It should be an anti-camp/tunnel mechanic but really its just a second chance if you lose a chase. Don't get me wrong it should stay a good perk but it shouldn't last so long to the point where any decent survivor can loop and stun you until you finally get them down and you get hit with that. So here are my changes to the perk

    • Borrowed time last 15 seconds less(25,35,45)

Now I'm gonna keep this short and simple but to counter to amount of SWFs then we need an in game form of communication so that solo queues aren't so bad people only play in SWFs.

Now we get to the flashlight/toolbox meta or the gen rush. Basically people do as many gens as fast as possible to escape swiftly and without issue. This is what I think people mean by SWF is a problem. The generators need a time nerf. For example increase the time of the generators and add 5 more minutes to matches. Here are my changes

    • Generator repair speed is nerfed by 63%, which means if a gen is being repaired by one person it will take 130 seconds
    • This will promote a style of play where multiple people are working on gens leading to more chases and more cooperation(for this to work there needs to be a game chat)

I think these changes need a lot of time and money but if they do it it will make the game more balanced.

Also nice insult at the end.

Instead they'll ruin the matches of mid-low rank Survivors. Which is a bigger problem. At least high-rank Survivors are more likely to just gen rush and not let the camper/tunneler get as much mileage from camping/tunneling.

    You have a point.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1434306#Comment_1434306

    I agree with this.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1434329#Comment_1434329

If you want to discourage camping/tunneling, it should done through in-game means to actually make camping/tunneling less viable, not by just taking away points. If someone doesn't care about the current ranking system (like me), then "five points from Gryffindor" is not going to do anything to dissuade a camper/tunneler. IMO, the current emblem system is bad and has been bad for a while, and as such I haven't paid any real attention to it from a results standpoint.

There isn't actually a reliable way for the developers to completely prevent people from tunneling or camping, however they do make it so people who do that regularly will never rank up and won't ruin the matches of higher ranked survivors. Some tweaks done to killers like the new Bubba rework and perks like BT and DS prevents such strategies, so the mere existence of them already discourages killers to tunnel or camp and gives survivors some breathing room if they face a killer like that.

  • @anarchy753 said:

I mean when is pipping and ranking up really a good thing?

If a survivor's head pops that means the dynamic of the game shifts drastically in my favour, anything less than 4 survivors is WAY better for killer. 1 hooked, 1 saving, 1 being chased, 0 progress.

It means I can play more calmly and make safer decisions without losing huge chunks of gens. So you may get less points from that one survivor, but the ability to make better decisions for the rest of the match can make up for that a little.

I do understand your point, however I do believe it is important for you to know how to play without relying on head pops. If you want to get someone out of the game just focus them and avoid DS, at least you are getting points for hooking, chasing and hitting them and will most likely get a double pip. Again, if all you care is to have fun, then suit yourself, but if you want to rank up, avoid head pops.

  • @Thypari said:

The piping system being tied to BP is dumb as #########.

If I kill 4 survivors, I should get 2 pips. Just had a match where I outplayed the other team. I had 2 survivors in the basement and slugged the other two. I nearly lost a pip even though I outplayed them hard.

I have to disagree with that, the piping system works in such a way to encourage you not to camp, tunnel or hard slug. You must hook all survivors to get extra points, you must hook one survivor multiple times, you lose points if you stay too close to a hooked survivor etc. Just killing all 4 survivors doesn't actually represent your skill and your ability to end chases and apply pressure, if that was the case a mori would be an insta double pip. You need knowledge about how the piping system works in order to adapt your playstyle to it.
