  • The only cool thing I could see them doing for Jason, if it "is" him, would be having his ability make the floors all like ankle deep water and pulling survivors into the water to instantly hook them somewhere. Besides that he'd probably just play a lot like Myers or Ghost face and be a stalker that outside of their ability is an underwhelming m1 killer/stalker.

Out of interest what happens to the dbd license we currently have?

The rights to the franchise gets passed along and then the new owner(s) at some point revoke it or we potentially get new stuff for her eventually.

  • Would be a bit more useful if there were more dead times during the day, but seeing as depending on your region it's about the same time every day where queues get longer for a period of time this feature while nice is only effective part of the time.

yeah, plus having 700k blood points and upgrading only 12 levels is honestly an insult.

An entire prestige is roughly 1.1m BP currently, so 700k is over half of a prestige (25 levels). It's not nearly that bad. It is slow without an active event or higher tier point offerings, but it's not that slug fest yet.

What would the change to 'Bond' be?

Presumably the range extended by 3 times the current to make it better for looping. Since most people don't use it unless they or someone in their group is running open handed since it's a perk trap oitherwise.

  • I've been hoping for them to release a system for a while to discourage disconnecting during a match that would help resolve part of the BP per match issue as well. Something along the lines of "the more games you play the more you earn" with a cap at like 1.5x (not including point boosting offerings). As long as you play matches on either side it slowly goes up until it caps and when you d.c you get your normal match penalty and a penalty to your multiplier. Something like 1x → 1.1x at 5 games played no d.c → 1.25x 10 games played no d.c → 1.5x 15+ games played no d.c. Reset the multi when a new day rolls over or when X hours pass that you've not been in a match.

Maybe you're right. But between now and then, why are we getting punished for what other people do? If I quit I get a penalty, if I stand still, I get suspicious activity. What do they want me to do in these situations?

Sadly there's nothing you can do.

  • They'll eventually get it done, but like most things they can't entirely fix the issue. People will always find a work around. If they do fix it I can guarantee you'll see the same sorts of cheats around with a different bypass within a month or so.

  • There's already a perk from another killer, Coup de Grâce(twins), that increases lunge distance by 80% at T3. Though, it does require tokens from gen completion. That would still quickly become a Springtrap hell in my opinion. Possibly making them almost as hated as Ghoul. They've already got some pretty long M1 range.

  • @Xray said:

Truely. How the hell is two seconds off night shroud gonna help Ghostface?

All stealth are sewed in 9.6 regardless with the tab menu showing the killer you're against at the start of a match.

  • @100PercentBPMain said:

people hate on Teamwork perks but I love the idea of trying to encourage survivors to be inefficient

Indeed. It's wild survivors expect to get the win without having to earn it. I mostly play killer with some survivor mixed in. As a survivor I don't mind earning it. I just hate when the killer I'm against employs some tactic like hard tunneling at 5 gens or full lobby slugging with full aura build. It isn't NEEDED to win. It can help in some situations but to apply it to every game you play is crazy.

  • If a killer is going to hard chase early game and allow people to pop gens one after the other instead of dropping chase to find a weaker link in the chain and regress some gens the loss is on them.

edit: I've had a decent few killers in end game chat accuse me and my friends or the randoms i solo with of gen rushing when in reality they decided to spend 3+ minutes tunneling/chasing one person.

  • There's a lot of ways to trigger the system. I've had multiple games in a day with a cheater that makes a game last a few seconds. after the 2nd one you also get match suspended.

  • I'm not a fan of clown. In most of my games against a clown a majority of them are the players that suck the fun out of a game by hard tunneling super early or full lobby slugging/bleeding people out. That's just my experience with a majority of the clowns I encounter.

  • Like others have said here already. The term "try hard" is subjective. Maybe some consider it running meta and being a sweat. Maybe some consider it doing w.e necessary to win, and maybe some view it as just being quite good at a certain or multiple roles (looping, doing gens, saving, etc). I also feel like this would just make it easier for survivors to troll others in solo queues or for killers to quickly find out that they mean business and resort to things like tunneling or slugging as a result. As a killer main if I know a group means business and intends to give me a run for my money I'll weed out the weakest link and hook or slug bait them to lure out the others for easier hooks on them.

  • It's almost as if the licensed things we DO get have to be pre-made, shown to and pitched to the license owner, and approved by them after they come to an agreement. Not every franchise is going to say yes to being in DbD. They also can't just add another companies intellectual property without getting a cease and desist or possibly just shut down in general. So, "easily" seems like lack of knowing how they get licensed killers, survivors, maps, etc to begin with.

  • That's their anti-D.C. system for you. Even if it is their fault or a cheater making a game end after a few seconds everyone gets penalized for it. Though, normally with dedicated server issues it's just loss of BP from the match, items, add-ons, and offerings.

  • The way I view survivors wanting to farm (or being a survivor that wants to farm sometimes too) is as follows:

-See if the killer is willing to (little head nods, 'come here' emote, etc) farm possibly. If they shake no or just hit then you SHOULD play normally or d.c right there if you're going to be a sour puss and not play properly or throw. No one wants that. A bot is better than dead weight.

-If you all decide to farm… as a survivor DON'T BM after it's over. Two reasons for this. 1) Your little sour ass wanted to farm and got your farm so don't be a dick. 2) They might have an end game build and now you're screwed and get what you deserve.

Play how you want as killer. Neither side is entitled to anything.

  • I guess the way to know is WHILE selecting perks they apply the "diminish" in the text for the %s

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

First of all, another Boon-Perk is not needed. This is just more Junk. Boon-Perks are bad and every new Boon-Perk released will not give any value at all for Survivors. They are a failed concept and it is bad enough that we will get one with the Community Chapter. But more are not needed, especially not with such a niche effect like you proposing.

Second, Boil Over should be reworked if anything. The Perk is pointless 99% of the time and only annoying in very specific Builds (even tho I dont even know if those are actually possible anymore since Map Offerings got nerfed). It is not even good in said Builds, just annoying. And a Perk like this should just get a completely new effect.

Rather than wiggle strength it would be nice to have one of the following effects:
    - Every 30% of wiggle progress the killer gets a great skill check that is 30-50% larger than normal and if missed they drop you and you get 4/7/10% haste for 1/1.5/2 seconds (and maybe exhaustion)
-If dropped with over 50% or 60% wiggle progress you are injured instead of in the dying state again and have 1 to 2 seconds of endurance.
-For every hook state you have when carried you gain 10% more wiggle progress and need 5% less total progress.

Just ideas. Any one of them as a rework i think would make it a lot more "attractive" as a perk.

  • Just give this a little bump, because this is getting more frequent and EVERYONE in those lobbies with a cheater is getting punished for nothing.

  • Sad. twice in one week I've been matching suspended for "suspicious activity" in the last game. Love being punished for trying to play and a cheater ends up in the lobby.

edit: took a break for a bit and when i got back on it turns out i also regressed from Irri 1 to irri 2 with 0/5 progression marks. Love being punished because someone else is cheating. Not hard to get back to one but the fact they punish so badly for something out of 4 other players' control is… awful. There needs to be a better system in play that doesn't screw everyone.

But those 3 games gave me life long mental scars and probably ruined me in some ways as a kid lmao.

Shout-out to Parasite Eve, …Iru!, Kuon, Clock Tower, Dino Crisis and Nightmare Creatures can't forget those.

I'm sure there's a lot of licensed killers/survs they've made and proposed to franchises that never made it. Which ones though I'd like to know. Adding to this though I think it would be awesome to have a Fatal Frame/Project Zero, Ju-on the Grudge, Little Nightmares, or Alice Madness Returns.

I've not had that yet but had my party hats go off a few times. I do try to be a polite pig, only pressuring party hat survs if I've no other info to follow up on. I'm not sure if that qualifies as a goofy playstyle or not. I don't think I have that pig rizz tho. So many survivors won't boop me :(

To answer the actual thread question, however:-

I've not done many goofy killer games as I still have to sweat a bit to not get thrashed. Here's a couple:

    • Boneclapper fakeout Wraith: One that I've done on occasion. Find a gen with a good view angle from far away where survivors are not likely to look. Uncloack. Experienced survivors will likely react to it because they know you can be anywhere when using boneclapper, run about for a sec, then return to the gen when they realise it's safe after you recloak. Do this enough to give them false confidence, then strike, hook, reset and start the process again.
    • Insecure Trapper: Place a single trap in a very obvious area then stand near it. When a survivor sees, swing at the trap to ask them to get in it, as if you're not able to get anyone any other way. You may also approach survivors and place one down near them and make the request. This led me to an 8 hook game.
    • Chase nurse: Just commit chases. Get haste from every source. Use her addon to increase speed. This catches people out so much because they just don't expect you to gain ground. Tends to only work early game though. Blinking is for losers.

Some things I've come across in my survivor games but haven't tried:

    • CSGO Pro Slinger: Slinger was always ADS, even when not in chase, jiggle peaked for shots and checked his corners.
    • Jumpscare Myers: 2-hooked the whole team, then spent the game setting up jumpscares where possible and just being a goober. This one is common enough, scratched mirror is the go-to.
    • Ankle-biter Ghostface: Never uncrouch aside from when knocked out of stealth or hooking. Play your best but if revealed you have to scarper away and recrouch ASAP.
    • Stealth Pyramidhead: A classic, you can kit him out to get massive value from dragons grasp/make your choice for easy jumpscare downs when paired with undetectable. Also a test of your moral character. Will you be fun, or will you use this to proxy hooks?

I'll have o try some of these. Some of them I'll have to buy, but I'll have to try them at some point regardless.

  • What a weird post to downvote lol

  • I do chaser to a degree with pig. everyone gets a "party hat" then i just sit around and wait.

    Real myers?
Like, you can chase only the obsession.
And dont actually care about other three surviviors?
    Isnt that goofy?
I m usually paried it with FtilltheEnd and skull derchant perk i forgot its name, to benefit from dropped pallets.

Or you can try the only night Dredge, like a true horror idk.

Or lil chaser like GF or Pig but you can play only in crouch. (For GF i saw it with PlayWithYourFood and Coup de Grace. So idk it was a long time ago.)

Couldn't do that even if I wanted to. never bought myers.

Well theres also "whack a mole" death slinger, and "dodgeball" huntress (where she stays on a 2nd floor sniping all game)

I can explain why I downvoted, only because I simply disagree. When the option is to simply give up to bleed out and die yourself or wait for the other person to, I don’t agree that it’s ‘not really that bad’. Those games are some of the worst negative experiences players can face. Including the option to abandon while slugged or repeatedly slugged seems to even acknowledge this, as there’s no appeal to playing a game where you slowly bleed to death for 4 minutes. So, respectfully, i disagree with the sentiment that it’s not really that bad and you just need to bleed out and die.

That's true enough. Personally I'd rather deal with that situation and bleed out or be the one who has to in that moment hide and wait it out over some of the other situations killers can put you in at times. So, at least for me I'd rather deal with that than something like lets say.. The killer has a hex. They are hard guarding their hex and even hooking as close as possible to it and in turn hook guarding and tunneling off hook all to protect their totem + the 4k. Often times those end up in 1 dead, 1 on hook, 1 slugged at hook, and 1 person somewhere close by trying to figure out the right moment to trade for either being the new hook or the new slug. Both awful in their own right. The first option just seems.. easier to deal with in my opinion.

Lockers and running don't stop crows. You have to work on gens for a set amount of time, fully open chests, and fully cleanse totems.

@topic if we aren't going to get any basekit anti-slug, we should at least get a manual bleed out option to finish the timer out and make hooking more advisable than slugging.

Makes sense. i tend to do a little of most of that in those situations, but just for points. nice to know it's also my crow repellent.

  • @random1543 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4070403#Comment_4070403

Issue is with the new afk crow system, you will get crows if you just hide the whole slug timer. you have to be picking them up or touching gens. (which gives the killer a clue of your general area)

Could be solved by disabling afk crows in the situation.

Well, while that is true I didn't say you had to stay in one place. most survivors walk the outer perimeter of the map and crouch. Running here and there or going in and out of a locker to prevent crows. There's ways to be mobile and hide at the same time. Which in the case of the original post is more than likely the thing to do when they are slugging like that.

edit: Also, love how people downvote and then don't post why lol. It's not like I was incredibly wrong in my original post. Plenty of people have had to do just that in those moments. myself included. Kinda wish when people disagreed with something though they'd give some sort of response and actually contribute to the conversation.

  • By "making noise" you mean making threads and posts here about it you'll likely get forum banned before anything else.

  • Well, if they ever DO get permanently removed which i doubt they will as they are STILL there to be done to collect some of the past charms and banners and BP I suggest you do them for just that reason.

  • While sadly this is something a lot of killers do.. it's not really that bad. If they are that dedicated at that point you and that duo or random need to accept that the play is to just bleed out and hide and hope to find hatch. I don't play that way either as a killer main but if people want it that badly a lot of people are willing to waste as much time as they need to get it.

  • Played for maybe 4-5 hours yesterday. encountered such a thing THREE times. which is wild considering I've been actively playing again for about 4 or 5 months now and in the rest of that time only seen ONE other cheater that entire time.

edit: It's also not fun getting matched restrained (even only for a few seconds…) because of 'suspicious game activity" in the previous match where I couldn't do anything about it.

  • Agreed. hard to follow scratch marks in the corn when the ground and and corn itself in chase is quite bright. Even harder when they're running something like Light weight where scratch marks are less consistent.

  • I'd suggest just go hide away from them when possible. do solo gens. usually the survivors wont look for you cause they'll be too busy dropping palettes for the killer or maxing chase. Won't be a normal match regardless but the sooner you finish the gens to get out the better in that case

  • It's a sad day for both survivor and killer when 2 or even sometimes 3 blood pumps can be used as a loop.

  • Had an onryo game earlier where 1 person was doing all the gens while the other 3 kept sandbagging each other in corners of the map and screaming with scene partner as well. felt bad for the mikaela having to do all the work. Luckily I run a full hex with noed being one of them. So, mikaela got some end game justice with a 3k where she got to leave.

  • I'd like to know where i begged for anything in either of those posts 🙃

  • I see the low mmr is the first to post a response.

  • My own personal gripes with events as is:
    >The free items from them are usually pretty lackluster or don't match with almost any cosmetic outside of the event
    >Log in rewards outside of tiny microdoses of irri shards are pretty underwhelming

    >The "Events" are mostly just repeat slop from previous years with no new fun mechanics or maps

What baffles me the most is the MOBILE Dead by Daylight has all these fun modes and stuff we don't on console/pc still AND emotes. When the hell are we going to get anything like that? I prefer the silly random bs games over normal games usually. I'd love to be able to do the mobile modes on PC without having to use a mobile emulator to do so.

  • IT's wild.. I've only seen 1 hacker on both survivor and killer side since I actively started playing again like 3-4 months ago. They were playing Wesker with that spam M1 and spam dashes. Kinda glad I see so few of them personally…

  • What I run as survivor:
Head On, Bound by Obsession, Will to Live, and Vigil

Head on for sneaky saves if you can get them (harder in solo queue)
Bound by Obsession for using the killer's aura reading against them for running/looping if you're good at them
Will to live to give yourself a chance to save yourself from being hooked right after getting off hook
Vigil to make all negative status effects for you and your team 66% shorter

Will to live also increases your chance to be the obsession so it is quite good for making sure you ARE the obsession since Bound by Obsession doesn't work otherwise.

What I use as killer(This is my own preference and I use these because I like to play the long game):

    A) Hex: Devour Hope, Hex: Haunted Ground, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, and Hex: No One Escapes Death

Devour hope lets you instantly down people at 4 of 5 tokens which is quite nice if you have a ''bully squad'' or people you have trouble catching to hit at all to begin with. Good counter to it. It also lets you mori people at 5 tokens regardless of hook stages. If it is cleansed though R.I.P
Haunted Ground because it gives you 60 seconds of instant downs regardless of health state. Similar to Devour Hope.

Thrill of the Hunt helps keep your totems protected once people know where they are with giving a -12% penalty to blessing and cleansing totems per dull/hex totem left on the map

This is the build I use on my main killer, Onryo. It is nasty but it plays very well with how I play her.

    B) Cruel Limits, Grim Embrace, Hex: The Third Seal, and Make Your Choice

Cruel Limits is good for keeping chase since it blocks windows for 30 seconds making it harder for a survivor to get distance on you.
Grim Embrace helps keep generators on lock down. When you go away from a hooked survivor all gens within X meters are blocked off for X seconds. When you have 4 tokens on it it blocks off ALL gens for 40 seconds when you hook someone and leave the hook radius.

Third Seal applies blindness to injured survivors making it harder for them to see each others auras and the aura of survivors on hook.

Make Your Choice inflicts survivors who save people from hook with exposed and makes them scream making it easier to know who unhooked them so you know who is currently exposed (as long as it isn't doubles+ of 1 survivor).

These are my own preferences but I tend to play stealth killers or killers with a decent bit of mobility.

  • Doesn't seem to affect me too much in how I play/prestige my characters.

    • Play until I get bored or the survivor/killer side gets 'rough' (more consistent sweat games back to back. Sorry I'm a casual I don't do sweat.)
    • Spend all the BP i got playing. Usually gets me around 35 levels to 1 1/2 prestiges depending on if I use an offering or not.

Though, I HAVE definitely noticed over the last 2 to 3 years the gradual decline in both code frequency and points per game. The points I get now for a mid performance game(few unhooks, couple single or duo heals, at least 60 seconds chase time, and helping complete at least 1 generator) Are about the same points I'd of gotten a couple years ago for getting almost nothing done and immediately being tunneled out. While games where I perform super well and get a LOT done I can either get barely over 20k or 40k. I'm not sure how they calculate BP anymore on the survivor end honestly. I can have 4 irri emblems end game and get 24k points or 36k points with no real indicator as to why. It seems like they're rewarding based on group performance rather than individual performance now in my opinion. I'm not a "pro" looper or a gen rush jockey, but I think I do pretty well in a majority of my games. Even with the jank distribution I still manage decent BP it just requires more time. Which in itself can be an issue. Especially when it's one of those days where you just seem to constantly be matched with "sweats".

  • I don't think a new killer for her is needed. It would be more practical to just go the Legion route and get more female skins for the already existing killer.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/463855/something-needs-done-about-the-abandon-option-as-it-is-currently-a-joke

The thing about the abandon button is that it's supposed to keep you in the game until it becomes literally unplayable or draws out too long. Allowing players to dc all the time without penalty would greatly harm the game as survivors would just freely leave the second things stop going their way, sabotaging the match for their teammates while giving the killer a bum experience.

The button isn't there to let you leave when it becomes unwinnable, but when there is literally no way left to win, e.g. being four-man slugged. Your mindset on what this button should be is part of the problem. The thing about the game is that you could literally go against any killer. The abandon button isn't the problem, it's your mindset. The abandon button is fine as it is. It does its job.

due to the killer being extremely toxic in their game play (camping, slug baiting, lobby slugging, etc)

Camping. Were you all hovering for the unhook?
Slug baiting. Were you hovering for the flash/pallet save?
Lobby slugging. Were you all injured and/or hovering for a flash/pallet save?

As someone who plays both roles, those strategies aren't always toxic, but sometimes necessary due to certain survivor behaviours that may necessitate those things. It sounds to me more that you need to switch up your strategy rather than complain about 'toxic killers.' This post honestly comes off as very entitled to me.

I likely misunderstood the FULL intention of the abandon button, but I think it still stands that there should be more either side can do about players that abuse the system. It's not fun as a killer to be against a duo or trio or sometimes full friend lobby that doesn't want to do gens but just flashlight strobe you or run circles around you doing nothing. The report system I feel really doesn't do much. Not to get too sidetracked here…

    Camping:
I can't speak for who is/isn't hovering in most of the games I play but generally i try to avoid where someone goes down until a good moment after a hook. When I say camping I'm referring to killers such as huntress, trickster, or other ranged or fast moving killers such as ghoul who will go just outside of the hook range so the hooked survivor can't unhook themselves from being face camped and they can be right back on the hook when they see someone get within a few feet of it. Though, I've also had killers that do the old hook camping and when the survivor (sometimes me) unhooks themselves (or myself) they are chased off hook again regardless of that small window of damage immunity.
    Slug baiting:
Again, I personally don't attempt to save someone who is slugged if I visibly or audibly have heartbeat/terror radius when approaching. I know better. BUT when either I go down for or other players go down first and they decide to play the long game of either wait right next to said downed survivor or hide just out of view it is quite hard to get them/me. Granted if it's me that's up and I know they are slug baiting I'll only run in if i can take a hit and grab someone and run. As much as I'd hate to buy into their bait sometimes it has to be done if you know you can get someone up and get out of there.
    Lobby slugging:
Same as the above mostly. Only difference is usually the downed survivors all crawl to each other and make a save impossible which isn't really on the killer entirely at that point.

With all the above things and other crappy things that can happen in a match.. I don't care if I win or lose and if it's an easy win or an easy loss. Or if we're just barely winning or barely losing my a hair. I enjoy it either way so long as my fellow survivors aren't hiding off in some corner or in a locker doing nothing and the killer isn't applying one of the above and other unmentioned 'tactics'. I'm aware by themselves most of them aren't too bad and can be managed around if you have the skill or support of other players to "bait and switch" or something of the sort. It's when these bad tactics are the only way certain people even play that gets under my skin. I play the game to to play. Not to win or to lose. Like I said in the initial post it's just hard to even play when the mindset of so much of the community anymore is to do absolutely anything to win.

I also play both roles. I'm a killer main. Used to be survivor main until I feel like the solo survivor side got so bad I didn't really want to do it almost ever. Which is also why as a killer I have the mindset of playing the killer I'd want to be matched against. If they do their little killer dances I can let them have their fun. If they Run, pallet, etc as you'd expect anyone to I'll give them that challenge, and I don't resort to any of the above tactics of slugging an entire lobby or camping hooks and what not. I just have fun. If having fun at the time sounds like playing wolf form dracula and trying to get survivors to pet me.. why not.

  • Not that it matters to the point of this post.. my hours are almost at 1k (less than 24 hours away). I'm sure that if things weren't getting increasingly toxic over time that I'd have well over 2 to 3 times that time as I've had the game and played it for weeks to months at a time since it first came out on steam.

  • Forgot to mention. Game would end when all survivors are slugged or after 10, 15, or 20 minutes.
