So as someone who play both sides but main killer, this is my opinion about the balance... Spirit is annoying to play against and not fun, Spirit stomps solo players, but it's fair against those tryhard swf... the problem is that not everybody play in swf( i play everytime solo as example) and not every swf is optimal.. so as we know Spirit is getting changed wich is fine.. so this is how i would nerf swf... what are the strongest survivors perk? If you play solo empathy, bond, alert, spine chill are amazing, but all these perks are pointless if you play with vocal chat, so everybody in swf run decisive, adrenaline, dh, bt etc... wich are the strongest one? decisive and adrenaline.. oh AdReNAliNE rEwardS YoU FOR DOInG GeNs!!.. as it was hard if you play optimal in common... and actually rewards the one who is getting chased.. about decisive it slows down your momentum if you get fast hooks, and if you go into a locker you get 1 minute of god mode, you can't even slug to counter the perk ..don't tell me to not tunnel, because everytime the ds guy wants my attention... we will get also map reworks wich will also help, but i don't think it will be enough.

    so these are my ideas

*adrenaline passive heals you in 5 seconds and doesn't give you free sprint burst or free unbreakable..

*decisive if you hook another survivor rather than the last one you hooked, ds is cancelled, if you go into a locker it becomes temporarily unactive(makes sense no if you should stab the killer with something you find on the ground?)

i think these changes would slightly nerf swf, and would be pretty healthy for the game, and rahter than complain we will see more solo players running non meta perks, until they will become actually meta. Swf will still run those perks because they are still amazing.. what do you think?

This sounds terrible and more like a pathetic attempt to get a bandaid fix for your poor gameplay choices.

If someone with DS is begging for attention IGNORE THEM or learn to count.

Go do something productive instead of camping the locker like a dog waiting for their owner to walk through the door.

Queue times will be worse if spirit gets nerfed anyway. And I don't think most groups play casually. For me at least, 80% of my games are against sweaty genrushers.

No such thing as sweaty gen runshers it’s literally the objective.

Literally yesterday I was playing against a toxic swf group and as I was about to kill the last one I get a connection error, shortly after the first survivor I killed sent me a message pretty much "hinting" that it was him that was the cause of my disconnect. Keep in mind this has happened before but this is the first time the possibility crossed my mind that it could be players causing the issue and not BHVR.

(My reason being because if you've been DDoS before you would know that your internet in general is affected by the attack)

Fast forward today and as im chasing Jane who thought she could run out the time on MYC makes a mistake in her loop so like any other I capitalize on that and as im about to down her of course I get disconnected from servers again.

I don't find it to be coincidence when it only happens when survivors become salty.

(And I have good connection almost capping at 300 Mbps so im 99% sure its not me)

Also I have the clip from today and screenshots from the guy that was pretty much dry snitching on himself

I just want to know the cause, if its survivors having found an exploit or another issue on BHVR's end

Honest question. Survivor perks seem to get nerfed all the time in this game in the name "balance" but killer perks never get nerfed no matter how powerful they are. MoM was not that big of a deal and I rarely ran it, but now its just another of the many completely useless perks. The DS nerf was even bigger, but at least that is sort of anti-tunnel now I guess? Seriously though it does seem like the killer community is much more vocal in this game and they seem to always get their way. It is no wonder the queue time suck so bad and why I rarely play killer even though its easy mode at least at mid to high ranks. The only challenge is waiting for a game.

I've played off and on for a while and I can't understand why the game still isn't balanced at all. The main issue I'm talking about is playing SWF vs. running solo. SWF games(when my friends do play) I can sport an 80-90% win/escape ratio, but solo its 15-20% maybe and honestly if I don't survive usually no one in the game survives. I would estimate a full 80% of non SWF games end with the killer getting 4 kills. Everyone always talks about camping like JUST DO GENS AND WIN EZ. But is it for a non SWF game? Sure in SWF a camper will pretty much always just get 1 kill, but in solo games camping is pretty much an automatic win for killer because by the time other survivors know a camp is occurring its really too late to get on gens and win the game. I propose to combat this situation the Devs either make voice chat available for survivors to even the playing field for non SWF or make it only in non SWF games so that the sacrificial timer either dramatically slows or altogether stops when a killer is within X meters of the hook. Maybe even make it a perk so we lose a perk slot for it, but something anti camp besides just kindred which has a short range we can run.

Camping is totally fine in SWF, because you can counter it, but in NON SWF it is game breaking and something should be done to make it a losing strategy in both instances not just SWF. I know I'm about to get flamed by the toxic killer community here(most toxic community I've seen in 20 years of online gaming anywhere), but every survivor main know camping is the biggest issue in this game for non SWF players. The DEVs should do something to discourage it. I'm not saying against the rules, but just make it so it isn't such a great winning strategy vs non SWF. There has to be something you can do to balance it out and make the game fun to play even when a killer decides to camp. I know it isn't the killers job to make the game fun, but it IS THE job of the devs if they want people to keep playing. I'm not saying that survivors should escape every game or even 70% of the time, but there should be balance between SWF and non SWF.

I said the exact same thing lmao, they all reply with the same thing “Survivor is power role”. I bet most if not all the people saying that either aren’t rank 1 or don’t play both sides diligently. They just want it to be easy so they can restore the pride that was taken from them by a random survivor group.

Just because a killer gets buffed doesn't mean a survivors should get buffed. Imagine we had a set of 2 scales with two little dishes on either side. Left side is survivor and right is killer. If you look at the video from 2016 that Tru uploaded the left side was weighting down drastically and for the balance to happen the devs had to nerf survivors more then the killer to even out the weight (balance).

With your mentality, a killer gets buffed so the weights balance out a bit but now a survivor buff needs to happen so now you buff the scales out and oh no back to square one where it's unbalanced again.

I'm not the best at explaining but balancing doesn't work like that where one side gets buffed so the other side needs to get buffed. I'll agree survivors have been getting nerfed a lot lately but all of this is to even it out because of the game catching back up from the old times.

If the game was truly trying to be balanced they would buff them together. killers and survivors taking turns getting buffed/nerfed forever would be just tipping the scale back and fourth in either favor. Doesn’t sound very “balanced” to me

I'm rank 4 both sides and no insta-heal is one of the most toxic thing in the game. If you failed with 4 insta-heal it isn't the game's fault.

I play spirt so those insta heals were useless cause they just gave me stacks for STBFL and then they were right back where they started.

Had a similar problem. There's something wonky with the Party Management feature that causes all manner of DC problems. It's actually benign when it's just in the lobby. It's worse when it happens at the end of a match.

Just escaped the match and was about to enter the Match Results screen. Then boom! You have been network disconnected or some such.

Lost my rainbow map, all the BP, and even got a de-pip for my efforts. Basically I was treated like I was a dirty, rotten DC'er.

This nonsense seriously needs to get fixed, it's gamebreaking.

I also have that happening almost every time I play I get disconnected at the end so much so I don’t even bring items at this point

  • @CrowFoxy said:

Unless you're Nurse or Spirit, the survivors are in control unless they make a mistake. You're just bad dude, that's fine.

    Once again I main spirit-_-

  • So because I have my own opinion I’m lying/don’t play the game enough ( I play everyday). Seems like a toxic mindset to carry around m8

Survivors still are the power role by quite a bit. If you play killer at rank 1 you'll see what I'm talking about.

    I’m rank 1 both sides.

  • @Blueberry said:

You've actually got this completely backwards.

Survivors have been receiving nerfs because survivors have been the power role by far since the games release and still are. These nerfs have been "slowly" trying to get them more balanced.

Also, devs play both sides a lot. We have the balance issues we have because most of them don't play at high ranks to understand how bad the balance actually is.

Yes I agree survivors were op at the beginning, but that’s not nearly the case now. They can’t just keep nerfing survivors and buffing killers the scale will never be balanced at this rate.

  • Insta-heals don’t work against good killers I had a full team run insta-heals, long story story short I still got the 4K.

  • @EyeFearFoolie said:

I’m starting to believe so because I noticed survivors get nerfed/patched immediately but killers on the other hand take weeks/months if your lucky. Ex.When chapter XIII released low rank killers got high ranking survivors, it got patched in like 2-3 days (I can’t recall the exact time frame) but now I’m getting potatoes as teammates and brown ranks on my team when I’m rank 1 going against rank 1 killers. Where’s the fun in that I can’t loop forever especially when it’s their first time EVER encountering “ruin” so they just run around like headless chickens. Sad part is the patch (if we ever get one) won’t come out until after the BP event is over.

Not to mention THE CURRENT BUG every time you try to play swf someone gets left behind in lobby or it auto disconnects and you have to search for 5-10min all over again

  • @TheUnendingNightmare said:

Both are pretty balanced but tbh devs are leaning towards survivors never killers. Last bonne they threw at me was making the Hag traps a bit faster. It was like a year ago I think.

What lead you to this conclusion because I have numerous reasons as to why the game leans more towards killers favor but I would like to hear your reasons before hand.

  • @Twinbros said:

Of course they are, why else would the game be so heavily tilted in favor of Killers? And why else would they try to cover up this fact up by making the Survivor pip system a complete joke?

If the survivor (and killer) pip was based on surviving and killing (as it should be), then the number of red rank survivors would be a small handful and the red killers would be a flood. This would more accurately explain the state of the game and how balanced, or not, it is.

The problem is Killers (and Devs) think that in order for a Killer to "win" a match, they need to kill everyone. 3/4 is meh, and 2/4 is a complete loss in their eye. Which if were being honest 2 survivors in a game is a draw, and the most equal match possible.

And it's not survivors that need "buffs" and "better perks" it's killers that need nerfs and perks taken away. Why Killers should be able to see survivors through aura's is quite possibly the dumbest thing ever. Likewise nearly every killer has a form of 1 hit down ability or ######### over gens. Ruin/BBQ chili (the two perks that should be removed) are in every game, that tells you how broken these two perks are.

They don’t understand, if you’re playing against a good team and your a good killer someone is bound to escape and that’s fine. And I play killer and survivor and see how easy it is to cheese games . Constantly making Buffs/patches/nerfs to allow killers to get easy 4K’s is biased but the only people that like these changes are who? KILLER MAINS... I wonder why

  • @MAV said:

Since the patch I've been queued with almost exclusively red ranks (as a red rank myself) when I solo queue.. every once in awhile I'll get a purple or green if it's a long queue... Only exception is if a red rank has a swf with a brown rank... Which isn't the devs fault.. in those rare occasions jus requeue if you don't want to deal with it...

I often have to re que about 2-3 times but that’s the problems the ques already take forever

  • @YaiPa said:

You've never been around for the last two years if you think devs are killer main. Plus, until survivors have god windows, they should never consider themselves nerfed.

Been here since release, and what do you mean by “until survivors have god windows”.

  • @ChiTenshi said:

It's not intended, but there's not really much that BHVR can do to fix this until the dedicated servers are live.

A way to decrease the chances of you losing the item though is to simply leave when the exit gates are open. Don't lollygag or brew a cup of tea, simply leave and you are less likely to lose the item if the Killer DCs.

Yea I understand if I BM they might get salty but I did a full sprint

    @Captain_Valkyrie said:

I’m finding that I’m not just losing my items but now I’m losing bloodpoints too on end game. This happen three times now

Ppl who wanna "show their newbie friends the ropes" can just play KYF. Throwing your newbie friend into a normal SWF match isnt teaching them anything except how to hit skillchecks on gens, while you do EVERYTHING ELSE. At least with KYF, you can show them the basics of looping and such while you or another friend runs a mock chase as the killer.

The idea of a rank 1 survivor joining a rank 15 killer's lobby to "help" their rank 20 teammates is a joke. Just like your rank 20 teammates dont wanna face enemies WAY out of their skill lvl, neither does a rank 15 killer. The difference is you get to choose to have your teammates go against a rank 1 killer, as opposed to showing them the ropes in KYFs and letting them have their rank 20 matches without you screwing with the matchmaker.

Everyone doesn’t t have time to spend on KYF you might only have a small amount of time to play and want to make the best of it. It’s not hard to fix the game the more you think about it I can name a few off the top of my head.Re-ranking system,Change the matchmaking pools to be more accurate(I’m not going into detail just go look at other games),Player hours should be in account when matching as well. Not to mention the killer can pretty much force my new friends to de pip just by tunneling/camping cause he knows they’re not that good.
