Can someone tell me what the hell is going on?

I play solo, haven’t been able to leave purple ranks since the reset because all I’ve been getting are absolute potato teammates.

People dropping one by one, all in the same area. People crouching in corners doing absolutely nothing. Teammate saving me from a hook right in front of a killer. Working on a gen with someone who blows it up three times, and when I try to get away I’m the one that’s found, so I run the killer for a while and no gens get done.

I just don’t understand what’s so hard about this game, or why so many useless potatoes are playing.

Anyone else having this experience? Alternatively, does anyone have any recommendations for solo builds that I can use to not rely on anybody for anything?

    I'm a solo surv main.

    I rarely miss a S.C.

I almost always use B.T. and almost never unhook in terror radius.

I have ducked gameplay once with no mither challenge. I would not have ducked activity if it weren't for the fact that I was with the same team from the previous match that did everything in their power to out me asap because I had no mither. Oddly the 2nd game I made a safe unhook AND fully healed the person I unhooked and did make the escape. I call that a team that has no idea how to play and plays with a holier than thou, pretentious, prima donna mindset.

    I don't t-bag (ever) and I don't DC (EVER).

    I am in purple's.

From what I have noticed every killer and surv will create any excuse they can to do something unlegit. They are loser's if you ask me. Weird people that have their own set of personalities that they use to dictate the way they play. Many of them simply want to be toxic toward killer in any way possible and I can sometimes see why. A killers objective, as outlined by BHVR, is not to pick up and drop a downed survivor over and over for whatever reason.

Then the pre/post game chat. That's a different kind of animal that might as well be twitter uncensored. It's a joke and the game has become much more unappealing the more I play and learn.

If you think this game is just turning into an FPS than uh.. it's probably not for you anyway. I doubt the addition of a harpoon is suddenly making this CoD or BF or something.

Besides, the chain is laughably easy to break right now so he has to do it when he would've already caught up to you and got the hit anyway.

I'm brand new and from all the other FPS I have played and watched since the 70's (when I first found electronic games) I'd have to say DBD looks nothing like an FPS.

There is no habitual jumping (although there probably would be).

There is no universal shooting/firing back-just the killer with ability to kill.

Players all have the same speeds-unlike having the enemy constantly gaining on them no matter what they do.

Players and killers both do not share the same items (firearms/etc.).

FPS is more about being ranged than striking up close and personal, because the speed is the same for each.

These don't seem very similar but DBD has now added another ranged killer who, so far, will be best utilized as a personal attack killer, not ranged.

I know for a fact that killing yourself on purpose is listed on there. AFK I'm less certain on, but I'm pretty sure.

"UNSPORTSMANLIKE:....Purposely losing the game, not participating in or disconnecting from the game to avoid defeat. Examples: AFKing, rage quitting, idling, and refusing to participate in normal gameplay."

Really? From a killer's perspective, it wouldn't bother me if the survivors decided to let their teammate die on the first hook. Let's be real: By unhooking your teammates and not letting them die, you are usually increasing the survival chances of the team.

I think your statement comes down to what each survivor player considers a "Win". I know many killers perspective of a win is all over the place.

As a surv my main priority is to have fun. If I don't escape and it's a 4K that's fine with me if I make 20K, or more, points. Escaping is quite low on the list for what I consider a "Win". Killers prerequisites, per killer, for a win are massive and expansive.

I care nothing about rank so pipping/double pipping means absolutely nothing to me. 7500 BP's DOES mean something. It's almost always a waste of time to me. Almost always.

Especially since protection hits don't give stacks like they're supposed to, at least not on console.

I've had multiple claiming it works properly on PC but it does not for me. I have seen others make the same statement regarding it not working on pc but I have also been told it works perfectly fine for others on pc.

If it works for PH's as well as SU's then it's not too much of an influence on the game play style since they cap at 100% (4 stacks). If PH's don't work then you will see multiple survivors swarming to a hook for the uinhook which I have seen over and over again. I know there are challenges for unhooks as well through Rift and I think maybe through daily's which absolutely changes the way the game gets played.

I dont know what you are trying to say, but WAGLF works perfectly fine with Protection Hits. When you get a Protection Hit, you gain a Stack.

Not for me. I have gotten many protection hits and it does not stack. I've seen it in many matches as well. It could definitely have been something wonky going on in the connection or something that day but others have stated the same. I took 5 PH's just before I was finished with that session, only stacks were on safe unhooks.

What I was trying to say was the only thing that stacked was safe unhooks. Perk states that PH's are stackable as well but they weren't for me.

  • The perk description states it does something different other than BP's for only safe unhooks. This is inaccurate, it only works for unhooks NOT, "Protection Hits" like the perk explains. So, aside from being ONLY a BP boost, the description is inaccurate.

I have definitely seen impressive gains from this but it really changes the game quite a bit for me to get those changes which are BP's only.

"Each time you perform a Safe Hook Rescue or take a Protection Hit for a Survivor, gain a stack-able 25 % Bonus to all Bloodpoint gains up to a maximum of 50/75/100 %."
