but it can heal a dying player to injured when the killer closes the hatch and if the doors are open at that point it can take an earned kill away just as surely as noed can give it

Then just hook the survivor before you close the hatch and I think why most people don't like NOED is because it often rewards bad killers as it activities when the killer literally fails their objective.

  • probably because one last 5 seconds, the other until it's cleansed, and healing a health state can be done in 15 seconds without the perk anyway. NOED is an instadown that usually gives the killer a free kill.

  • Stridor is the worst on every killer but spirit

  • I agree with spirit 100% and kinda with PH but deathslinger has counter play.

Legion could use a doctor style rework. Maybe pig too.

    Clown could use an overhaul.

Most other Killers just need straight buffs or maybe an addon or 2 made basekit.

    I can agree with this

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

Trapper, Clown, Wraith, and Legion do not need reworks in my opinion. Maybe some sort of QoL change. Some small adjustment.

Pig, in my opinion, could use an add on rework. Her add ons encourage an unfun playstyle. She has all the justification in the world to tunnel masked survivors.

I don’t blame the Pigs for doing it. It is the add ons and their benefits are clear.

Maybe not entire reworks but some kind of significant change.

    thats an understatement.

trapper and piggy are probably bottom of the barrel with wraith under the bottom of that with their "ok" powers but poorly utilized due to addon dependency, especially trapper.

making trappers darkened traps, trap placement speed and his 3 trap addon baseline would do a world of wonders for him alone.

piggy im abit stumped by since she needs crouch speed addons and her ambush turned into being considered m1 to actually make her work in her current state, otherwise just tweaking it so traps are harder to get out of, take little longer, have twice the amount of puzzle boxes, maybe an audio cue of when they get a wrong box instead of a notification, maybe punish piggy for re-hooking a trapped survivor by breaking their trap and then maybe giving her 2 to 3 more traps so she will work better as a game staller breaking people down over time so the more gen happy survivors are busy trying to save their heads. would be largely different but you couldn't deny that it would make "the game" alot longer, especially if ambush counts an an M1 for perk usage.

wraith... oh boy where do we start? lower his shimmer visbility? speed up decloaking? im clueless with wraith he's that bad

I think Wraith would really benefit from faster uncloaking speed. That alone would improve him a lot. but also making him quieter (breathing and footsteps) would actually allow him to be stealthy. Wraith is my personal favorite killer to play and I think this would make him a lot better.

There is a counter to a perk I don't want to use that counter to the perk I much rather whine about it until it gets changed.

Coming from someone who played solo Survivor when it came time to doing the challenges for archives literally bringing in small games you could basically do all the totems by yourself.

If you don't want to do totems that's fine you don't want to waste your time with that but don't complain when the content of just rushed generators and leave ends up turning terrible for you

Completely dedicating your gameplay to one thing is very counter productive. Also you continue to ignore that the only thing that I think NOED should stop doing is giving bad killers a free kill. If a good killer uses it and secures a 4k with it or a decent killer uses it and gets a few kills because of it, the perk is perfectly balanced and being used as it should. A bad killer however getting a free kill is stupid in the same way the DS "Locker tech " is stupid. It requires no skill and gives an unearned free pass.

I never have a problem cleansing all of the totems. There are five and they are typically in a star shape around the outer edge. There is also Detective's Hunch and maps if you struggle that much. It doesn't take long to cleanse them all if the killer is preoccupied and others are doing gens.

I literally mentioned this but as I said before I agree with you, but once again in solo Q if I get chased all game my teammates usually don't do totems(this is just an example) so as I mention before I would just like to see a killer have to do at least something to make it work.

Survivors revolve around rewarding bad gameplay. Now piss off.

Bad killer won't get a free kill with NOED if survivors would do what they are supposed to do instead of crying about it on forums. Yes I have so small pp energy that I cry about NOED while running DS + UB combo because it "counters" toxic killers.

You are so incredibly angry for no reason. Ive literally never used UB even once. And because no-one can say NOED is annoying because they aren't doing what they're "supposed" to do then never complain about DS or DH because as a killer your not "supposed" to tunnel. You see how that is dumb and counter productive? I'm simply suggesting a change that would do nothing but stop rewarding people for bad gameplay. :) I hope you feel better soon bud

You just find the hex and cleanse it if you havent already. I main survivor but I also play killer, and I use NOED. Most of the time, I never even need to use it. So basically, I'm playing with three perks for the game. I rarely see someone get a four kill just from NOED. It really just sounds like you're salty that someone got you down with NOED and mori'd you, which is just what happens sometimes. You gg and move on to the next one.

I don't really have a problem with NOED I just think it should be earned. Yes it is annoying when teammate or me dies solely due to NOED and then gets face camped and despite how well you played all game the killer is bailed out and gets a free kill. I actually make it a point to do all the totems and try to learn all the totem spots but a lot of times it's just impossible to keep track of what totems are done and how many are left. I think NOED should be in the game but I don't think it should be as effective for bad killers.

Did I say I use NOED? No, so shut the hell up. I'm tired of explaining to bitchy and NOOB survivors that NOED is fine. Do the ######### bones or expect the killer to have it when he/she has been playing bad the whole game.

"JuSt DO tHe BOnEs" dude a bad killer shouldn't get a free kill, just as bad survivors shouldn't get free escapes.

Oh no doing bones slow the game? Exactly what most people are asking for because the gens are flying like hell? Most killers now bring corrupt intervention but rather then do bones for 90 sec you wanna play hide and seek or do the fiew gens that are open? Noed is fine its a last chance perk that you can nullify as soon as you get in the game and it doesnt even make sure you get 1 kill since you still can clear the totem after activation? Making it so the killer has potentially only 3 perks cause the 4th never activateur ?Beside i love how its unfair for killers to have a last chance perk but fair for survivor i guess to have a shovel of second chance perks?

Noed is fine and you get noeded then its your own fault lol

A second chance perk that you literally don't have to do anything to earn. DS and UB are second chance perks but counter 2 of the most toxic things in the game tunneling and slugging. Totems obviously slow the game down, they have random spawn points and assuming you find all 5 totems with 15 seconds of each other and the killer is never near any of the totems in the same time it takes to find and do all the bones you could've finished a gen. I just think a perk as strong as NOED should be earned or have a bigger risk. All 5 totems being done is extremely rare and only really happens when it's SWF. And yes there is maps and Detective's and SG but maps suck Detective's has very little practical use and SG sucks. So having to bring a perk to counter the possible use of a single perk is dumb. I don't think NOED as a whole is OP I just think it should actually be earned. My suggestion is that similar to how Devour collects tokens NOED should stack when you hook someone like BBQ. So if you got 3 hooks you get 3% movement speed, and if you got 4 you get the exposed effect. This doesn't nerf NOED at all for good killers but only makes it so that bad killers aren't given essentially free kills.

  • LOL ok bud. Looks like someone can't get a 4k without NOED. If NOED is completely fine because it has a counter than DS, BT, UB, DH are all perfectly fine and should never be complained about ever ok. You should not be rewarded for playing bad. I'm tired of explaining to killer mains why NOED should't be as strong as it is for being a passive perk.

You mean you jumped in a locker right in front of a killer so he is forced to leave you unless he wants to eat DS?

No, I literally didn't use it as I said. I don't like the whole "locker tech" thing I think it's abused. I only jump in a locker when I'm getting hard tunneled and I know if I don't the killer is gonna slug me and proxy camp until it goes away.

  • NOED isn't fine tho it rewards bad killers for doing nothing and "JUsT DoIng BOnEs" slows down the game for the killer without them working for it. A totem can be the difference between a gen getting hit with pop or being finished (just one example). NOED is too strong for requiring absolutely no effort at all. I suggested this before I think NOED should have a token system and that rewards killers for actually playing good and giving them the chance to secure a win. Current NOED allows killers to be outplayed all game and still get kills that shouldn't happen.

In red ranks quite often. Especially towards end game when either theres no generators left or 1 left to do. Especially if its a SWF they will coordinate and take their DS into consideration and will sometimes for you to either slug them, which will allow them time to crawl to exit, or take the DS which again will stun you so they can escape, or you slug them and they just get healed by a teammate.

I also play red ranks and very rarely see this. I didn't even think about endgame but if you can only get one kill endgame anyway you probably got outplayed. I definitely get the SWF thing tho but like I said before SWF is a massive advantage anyway.

  • @MeatBycicle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1466197#Comment_1466197

Okay, even without unbreakable. you still have 4 minutes of not touching survivors if every survivor has DS. It's not okay to literally make the killer unable to do anything for a whole minute in fear of getting stunned and losing a kill entirely.

How often do you only find the survivor that was just unhooked? Because when I play its pretty rare that the killer isn't in another chase after someone is unhooked and usually the unhooked survivor is healed doing a gen by the time the killer is back on them and by then DS is gone.

  • A good change to Ebony would be that you have to hook every remaining survivor once then you can kill them all by your hand. I say remaining because of DC's and stuff. Ivory being a cool animation with no real advantage completely takes away its purpose.

Of course they have to use it at the right time, but the window that we call "the right time" in terms of using it for distance, even you have to agree, is pretty heckin' big.

That's very true. I think that we should agree that killer takes more skill but acknowledge that survivor isn't as easy as killers like to pretend it is.

  • @MeatBycicle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1466170#Comment_1466170

You are right that it depends on if the survivors have those perks. But in red ranks 80% of the builds have those perks. All it takes is one unbreakable to lose a game.

DS and BT yes. UB nowhere near that often. DS and BT are kinda needed to counter camping and tunneling although both are rare you never want to not have those perks. I run both in my main build and only use DS like once every 10 or so games.

  • @SloppyKnockout said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1466152#Comment_1466152

I never said only killer takes skill - but objectively speaking, killer does require more strategy, time management and attention, and thus more skill. I don't think that can be argued. Survivors have a lot more freedom and room for mistakes in that regard.

As for DH for distance having a similar effect to enduring/spirit fury, yes, they do - but enduring/spirit fury have become exceedingly rare lately unless its being run on a killer with existing mobility in their kit (not nurse and spirit, though, for obvious reasons); because slower killers need slowdown perks in order to even have a chance to apply gen pressure. Unless of course, they tunnel and proxy a 3 gen with a hooked survivor in the middle, but believe it or not, most killers don't like to do that.

I agree that killer takes more skill but survivor does take skill as well and obviously is an asymmetrical game so of course survivors can make more mistakes. This doesn't take away from the fact that although you say you just press E the survivor does have to use it at the right time for distance or it will be useless.

I don't agree with this guy on certain things but hes correct in this. So many survivors use Dead Hard for distance to make a window or pallet and not for the immunity to a hit. The fact that you had to even ask what the problem with Meta Perks is shows your overall lack of knowledge in the game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1466113#Comment_1466113

If you want to go into further detail as to why DS and Unbreakable are incredibly broken and unfair for killer put it like this. Thers 4 survivors, generators take 80 seconds with 1 person to complete without a toolbox.

If each survivor gets on their own gen at the start of the round and begins to work on it while the killer is searching for even their first chase they will probably have about 10% on it by the time the killer finds someone. The killer is chasing 1 person around for lets say 30 seconds, a really fast chase. Brings them to hook and hooks them, that takes lets say another 15 seconds. So far 45 seconds total for 1 hook, and that is a really really fast situation. Each generator will be around 60% at this point.

Now lets say as he is looking for his next chase two or 3 gens pop, now what? Even if he wanted to tunnel the guy off the hook to get rid of him to create pressure since they are rushing gens he can down him, but he knows he has DS. He has two options, leave the guy on the ground for 60 seconds of complete invulnerability and hope to chase other survivors while they are on gens, and pray he doesnt have unbreakable, or take the DS.

Now imagine that x 4. Thats 4 minutes that you can't touch survivors, and each gen is only 80 seconds.

You're argument depends on many individual factors and the only time your scenario would only ever happen is in a SWF group which everyone knows is broken.

I don't see any reason to insult me like that, man; and it's a fact that with dedicated servers the way they are, dead harding for distance, which has ZERO counter, because it's done way out of reach of the killer, does NOT have a counter and is also the most effective way to use it these days. There's a difference between dead harding for distance and simply using it to avoid a hit. And yes - all you do in order to dead hard for distance is hit E.

If you're going to call someone an idiot...well. Never mind, I'm not like you. I don't need to insult people. :)

I'll apologize for that but it's annoying when people act like only killer takes skill. DH for distance is the same as enduring or spirit fury because they have similar impacts. I understand what you're saying but don't downplay that it is hard to loop a killer when realistically killers have every advantage in chases.

  • Assuming all 4 have the combo when its actually really rare because most people aren't dumb.

  • Mine was fine today. maybe its just where you live.

  • @APoipleTurtle said:

The simple answer is that survivors only have to play around ONE opponent running a bunch of meta perks (up to four total). Killer usually has to deal with FOUR opponents running a bunch of meta perks (potentially up to sixteen total).

Plus a bunch of survivor "meta" perks are rather controversial (usually considered somewhat overpowered) such as DS and Unbreakable. Maybe it's just my opinion, but I don't find that most killer perks are ever really considered overpowered or problematic beyond NOED (which isn't truly OP, but tends to generate frustrating gameplay situations) and PGtW/Ruin (which are situationally strong perks). There are certainly people who claim that BBQ & Chili and Borrowed Time are also OP, but I personally find those accusations unwarranted.

It's all a perk arms race. Killers feel they need to run the best stuff to keep up with survivors who run THEIR best stuff. But survivors also tend to run the best options available in case the killer brings strong perks of their own. I think if DbD can eventually reach a point where there are always multiple viable options to pick instead of one standout perk for a certain category/archetype, then this may become less of an issue. Some great examples of this happening already are Self-Care vs Inner Strength or the variety of Exhaustion perks on offer. Examples of this idea done poorly are how Unbreakable puts all the other anti-slugging perks to shame, or how almost no anti-tunneling perks really exist besides DS.

But Perks like Ruin, Pop, and NOED have the ability to affect all 4 survivors at the same time. DS and unbreakable is viable for exactly 60 seconds of any match. I agree with you that BT and BBQ aren't really that great but they are considered meta.

  • @SloppyKnockout said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/173994/whats-wrong-with-meta-builds

It's not really "meta builds" that are a problem, if you're running DS, BT, DH and Unbreakable, you definitely have a small penis.

Also, BBQ has a counter. A very easy counter (requires no perks, but there is also a perk that counters it). Pop also has a perk that counters it now. Ruin can be destroyed, and has multiple perks and items to help you find it, and NOED...well, NOED is literally the most counterable perk in the game. It can be destroyed before it's even had a chance to be used.

DS can only be "countered" by slugging, but slugging isn't a counter, cause that counter has a counter. It's called unbreakable. Even if they don't have unbreakable, DS can actually have situations where there is nothing but the killer can do but accept that they are going to get outplayed by a skillcheck and that survivor will escape. Dead hard can be baited, but baiting a "Deadheard for distance" play is nigh impossible, and can extend a loop by half a minute if done right, all because they hit "E". Borrowed time has counters, so I'll give you that.

So these aren't really good comparisons.

if you think using dead hard effectively is really as simple as just hitting E you're wrong. No one had unbreakable. He went out of his way to message me and I was running Quick and quiet, lithe, DS, and BT. I literally didn't use DS because I didn't need to.

  • Midwich is the worst map by a mile it sucks so bad. As survivor its way too hard to find objectives and on both sides chases just suck.

  • New Ruin might actually be even worse for new survivors. A lot of time newer players play scared and leave gens and hide after hearing the slightest heartbeat so it could be just as punishing.

  • spirit.

  • At low ranks killer is easier at, red and purple survivor is much easier.

Like I said it is scummy but scummy plays are optimal in a competitive game.

But they're not if you actively only try to find one survivor and purposely ignore the others if they are good survivors you're gonna lose rather quickly. The other 3 will just split and do gens and by the time you finally kill the survivor all gens will be complete. So in a competitive game it will literally be why you lose.

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/173979/from-a-purely-mechanical-standpoint-tunneling-is-the-most-effective-strategy-please-discuss

This is the exact point I try to get across to survivors and none of them accept it. People STILL think that hooking everyone 3 times is the most efficient strat.

It's also why camaraderie is one of the most underrated perks in the game as if you're trying to get someone out quickly it delays that for a short time.

EDIT: I could go into how DS just denies the most efficient way of playing with no skill involved, but that's a different discussion.

You really gonna complain about DS when tunneling is the cheapest way to win. Tunneling is stupid it's one thing if a survivor is constantly hovering around you or there the only one you can find but to go out of your way to find one guy is ineffecient and just scummy.

  • @Pryzm said:

So, I made the mistake of playing survivor tonight for the first time in weeks. Four matches and I was done. Three were hardcore tunnel matches that were absolute snorefests. In one, I did 3.5 gens and 2 totems with an escape and did not even score 13k. What the flying pigs is that?! Because the killer sucks and has to tunnel down two other players, the surviving players get crap bp and at best a black pip? Come on! Give these guys some BP already!

My match making is way faster in the evening as killer. I can toy around and not even try and make 25k in a match. I can get my arse handed to me and make nearly 25k in a match. I was watching people get tunneled out of the matches with less than 8k, even though I know they did a couple gens and got chased 3 times (really fast on the 2 later chases due to not being barely off the hook when downed again).

This is one of the primary reasons I left survivor three years ago. Absolute crap for BP and putting up with constant tunnel/camp. If you get tunneled/camped out, there should be a BP bonus for the hassle. If you are gen-jockying, you get crap for BP. That should not be the case. Gen jockies should get lots of BP as well.

Sorry, I just think this thing is insane. It's why the survivor role is so toxic. The best way to get BP is to bully the killer as much as possible. Gens don't give crap and totems are not much better. I've done 2 gens and 5 totems before getting faced camped out of a game (basement bubba and a lovely lag spike that stuck me in a corner) and left that match with less than 10k. Wow!

Getting tunneled and camped would be a lot less frustrating for people if they were getting more BP for it. I know it helps me as a killer knowing that I can get owned and still get good BP.

Im just surprised a killer main actually acknowledged that camping and tunneling actually exist.

Because camping is the only viable option at each. Bt allows you to make a reckless play, but you can punish it with noed.

You shouldn't get a free escape for hitting an easy skill check.

Yeah but camping shouldn't be an option. It's a scummy way to play and ruins the game for someone who did well all game and then dies on first hook because of a NOED camper.

Only if ds and borrowed time get deactivated once gens are done. You can't give survivors a free unhook when op crap like that is available

I don't see how BT is OP it literally only activates if your terror radius is at that hook. DS I understand but then again you shouldn't get a free kill for tunneling at the end of the game after you were outplayed.
