Yeah people that keep defending MMR are really not understanding Behavior whatsoever. Everyone always says "at the highest level they'll finally see that the game is survivor sided and then fix things when they have the data!"

No they won't. That would indicate they have a desire to balance for the top 1%, which they don't, and never have. They will see that "oh yes, at the highest MMR Clown is in fact getting destroyed. Oh well, we knew that already" and they will do nothing.

They have no desire to balance for the top 1% and I don't know why people think they're suddenly going to change their entire philosophy on the game.

Side point: They already know the game is survivor sided at the highest level. They've known this for years. They just don't care because its not indicative of the general experiences that the vast majority will have.

Exactly! The question should be: how can we fix this issue without ruining the game for the majority?

There's two separate issues. High rank killers can't compete against high rank survivors. But in all other situations, another issue is that Freddy is OP 😂. Freddy being op affects the other half of the player base.

There's got to be a way to help killers in the first situation and hurt Freddy in the others

No, because it will then prove KILLERS NEED TO BE BUFFED to be viable. At the rate we are going, NERFING every Killer that can actually threaten survivors will also kill the game. Freddy is going to be unjustly destroyed just like Billy was... Why? Because there are too many potatoes at ranks they shouldn't be. These survivors shouldn't be at these ranks. It inflates the kill rates and will yet again shorten the pool of killers at said ranks because the top tier survivors will always be top tier. They've been playing too long to fear any killer not named Nurse.

    Nope. You are completely wrong.

Freddy destroys 99% of the playerbase. He destroys solo q, which is a high high percentage of the people playing. Once again, like Scott said, the devs already know that Freddy and all killers get destroyed at the highest 1% of the game.

But they aren't going to cater to the game to the highest killers playing swf. Nor should they. Most killers will face solo q survivors anyway. They need to cater to the largest player base they can. Freddy needs to be nerfed. But that doesn't mean that they don't need to address the core problem of killers not competing against high quality survivors. But that's a separate issue

If you managed to get a 6 hour penalty, you have allready disconnected at least 6+ times. You deserve every minute. Play the game without being a whiny baby or gtfo.

I mean I wouldn't call DCing when theres one other survivor in the match at 5 gens 'screwing over teammates' but okay. How is DCing twice within the span of a week a sign of anything?

And the fact that it was far more than twice, is ridiculous.

The fact that you DC twice in one week just proves that your willing to DC every other time in every other week that you get pissed. Meaning that each month you probably DC multiple times, screwing over your teammates month after month after month. Even if it's only "twice a week" or "twice a month" it's still several times that you've screwed over average people trying to have fun in a game.

Not only is the 6 hour penalty fair, but for dc'ing on purpose, even twice a month for 3 months, that should get you permanently banned from the game. Anyone who is willing to screw over their teammates several times per month, that person shouldn't be in the game at all. Go play Fornite.

  • @MerryJuanNa said:

that would basically be like giving the solo q player a 5th perk, however they do need to bridge the gap, i suggest adding in game voice chat that would get rid of the problem without giving them an unfair advantage

It can be a lesser version. But survivor with friends have built-in kindred, it's called voice chat. They talk to each other to see who's getting the save. With all of the other disadvantages that solo q has, giving an extra perk isn't bad. But even then, it could be a lesser version that gives less information. Maybe it only shows the survivor auras, or maybe it shows the auras every 15 seconds for 1 minute. Just so people can realize that no one is going for a save.

  • When you dc even once you are completely screwing your teammates. Saying you haven't dc'd in 3 days, that's nothing to brag about, it's pathetic.

Not only did you knowingly dc twice 3 days ago, but obviously (by the fact that you're justifying it) you dc'd multiple other times this month, and I'm sure even the month before.

I never dc, admittedly, I got a 5 minute penalty which was annoying because it wasn't my fault. But I move on and I've never gotten more then 5 minutes ever. You deserve a permanent penalty for screwing teammates so often

  • This happened to me on Series X..i was rank 4. Then went to rank 5. I pipped twice and showed rank 4 and 1 pip. Depipped twice and it's showing me with only 1 pip on rank 5. If you do the math. It's not adding up. And nearly every match the after match isn't matching what I see

  • Some of you don't understand. You've been red rank, and moved to purple after each reset and you go back to red. When you are at the bottom teammates leave you on hooks CONSTANTLY. You will die on 1st hook. You will be tunneled without any teammates running borrowed time. No teammates run kindred, so you have to use Kindred just to get your teammates to go for saves. Without comms solo survivors crouch and never save you. They won't leave gens. Or they all leave gens and run in the same direction like idiots.

This is the problem the OP is talking about. Red ranks is one thing: you are playing with very capable survivors. Yes Freddy and Spirit are op, outside of that, the game is balanced towards survivor in red ranked swfs..

But when it comes to solo q, especially with bad matchmaking, you can have 4 great games like I did where you carry the team, lead in points, you work on gens and heal 24/7... But you still die half of those games and the other 4 games you die on 1st hook... Most of you don't understand solo q life

  • As Otz said on his stream countless times: the killer has been out for like a day. Be charitable. He's not broken. He's not super far off. A simple 5% speed burst and a couple of minor changes will make him a good killer.

People are learning to play him for the first time... It's going to take time to learn.. Everyone is trying to use the knives in situations where they should go for a hit. They are learning what situations to use knives. He's brand new.

The toxic whining about a killer who's been out for 5 minutes is insane. Go to another game and complain there. The DBD community needs more charitable and kind people

  • I just had to leave a late comment, simply to say that Otz himself gave the same exact speech I gave.

Otz specifically says that 2k is balance. And that killers should stop feeling entitled and thinking they should get a 4k. That's ALL I WAS SAYING! He even explains that killers often want their cake and want to eat it too!

    https://youtu.be/ZwcyaTk067A

  • You've got to be kidding me. We are comparing tunneling, a known toxic thing to do, with doing gens, a survivors main objective?

Talk about a toxic killer community... Wow..

There are several counters to multiple gens popping at once, though it is rare to get 3 to pop before you hook someone. If that keeps happening just get corrupt intervention. But this is rare, and takes rare circumstances like a big map or a bunch of new parts.

Even many complaints in this thread are from people who admit they kill 2 or 3 survivors in a game. For petes sake! A normal balanced result is 2 kills. You may get all 4. You may get 0. That's how this game works. Sometimes you win by skill, or you lose by luck, it happens. Stop complaining everytime you get a result you don't want. The kill rate is over 2 already, which shows more are killed then survive. There's not much that can be done. People who get tunneled can play decisive strike, after the new update, it will be more balanced. As a killer play corrupt rather then playing no ed with Michael Myers (which you don't need because you can just stalk to get that!).

We can make minor changes to burn sides but this stuff happens. Enjoy the game, try to get as many kills as you can. And if you have a few games with 2 games or less, realize it's not a big deal.

As far as the main topic at hand. I'm a survivor, I know it sucks to get tunneled, it's not toxic to use decisive strike when you keep getting tunneled, as long as you aren't purposely using it for offense. They will nerf they part of it anyway, get decisive strike, and when you have a rough go of it, use it for a few games

  • This situation rarely happens. With 4 survivors and very little gens left it would have been extremely easy to find survivors at this point. Again a GOOD MATCH with a killer should only get you 3 kills. A bad match 1 kill. An AVERAGE MATCH should be 2 kills.

Again if 3 or 4 kills were the average, that would be extremely killer sided.

My point is that you had a pretty easy chance to get 1 to 3 kills in this game. The point as a killer isn't that you always have to get a 4k. The point is to kill as many as you can. If you quit every match you can't get a 4k in, your going to quit a lot of matches. Expecting a 4k all the time and getting mad when you don't is silly.

Enjoy the game. When things don't go your way (these situations are rare) try to get as many kills as you can. Some of the most fun times in this game involve those days you feel down and out and still get a 4k..

But considering the fact that an average game should have 2k for an average player, and that was very possible, it seems absurd to waste all that time and lose all those bloodpoints when they only had a few gens to choose from, and they could have easily been solo q survivors

  • @bluedusef said:

ohh look another thread where theres bias from both sides.

survivors go use DS/UB/BT every game, enjoy your hard matches.......

also killers, use your corrupt, pop, ruin every game, enjoy your hard matches.......

I agree with you!! That's my main point, let's be even on both sides. The survivors are op, let's nerf them to the ground, it's getting old, especially if we ignore the other killer stuff you mentioned

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

You'll have to forgive me, as I believe in equality of opportunity and not equality of outcome.

We are all human. There should be an even amount of talent between killer and survivor. So the outcomes should be fairly even if you look at stats

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/234212/killers-stop-expecting-a-4k

I am a killer main and I 100% agree with you.

An insight I want to give you though is the fact that perks meant to make an escape or a chase easier are being weaponized. Like the DS example you just gave. But BT is the same deal.

then there is the toxicity that just makes it less fun to play against good/better teams. I mean if I loose a game I’m not happy but I’ll still give them the gg’s but then because they were spamming second chances and just hopping on gens right after a hook not giving a single [bad word] whether I grab them or not because they have DS and BT. And proceed to go like: “ez, loser. Haha noob.” But thank the gods that abuse of gameplay will be removed next update.

so yes the game is, when not being abused, very balanced. But the fact that perks should help evade the killer not attack him aren’t used in the way the devs want them to be used makes us cry for better balancing sometimes.

the last thing that pisses me of personally is getting matched against a SWF all rank 1 and 2 whilst being in high-green/low-purple and then getting my ass handed to me because they are just much better. I don’t have that many hours in the game yet and sometimes I make stupid mistakes, which they will punish you for as they should, but I just feel cheated when being matched against people far above my rank but that is just me maybe idk.

so please try to understand our frustration a little bit because this is one of the few ways to share out salt without being toxic in game.

Thank you for a fair and reasonable post. I agree with you!

  • Everyone: I agree I need to get better. When I referred to low percentages I was referring to everyone surviving.

I appreciate the feedback. Again if you read the other posts I've made, I've made it clear:

I'm not saying killers are majorly op (though some are). And I'm not saying we need to nerf killers.

My point is that stats show that the game slightly leans to benefit the killer, if you are killing 2.5 to 3 people every match, that actually leans towards killer.

My point is that, though we should balance out things and nerf things, we need to try to do it EVENLY..

One person mentioned that the complainers are a minority. If that's the case, I feel a lot better. I just see a lot of killer complaints in my Google news feed, when in reality I see a high kill rate. My point isn't to say that killers are op.

My point is just too avoid making games easier for killers. Let's balance things out evenly.

I'm coming at this one-sided because I do lean towards survivor. But can we work together for balanced changes rather then wanting to completely nerf the other side?

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2014827#Comment_2014827

The average game ends in 2.66 deaths, iirc. Those stats are old though, and there is pretty much zero context behind them.

That's my point. For the game to be truly balanced, since out of the playerbase we should have an equal amount of talent between killer and survivor, we should see roughly 2.5 or 2.6 would show a lean towards killer. If those are updated statistics, I think it just shows that we shouldn't nerf survivors more, to the point of making it easier for killers. If we nerf any survivors, it has to be at the expense of Freddy, Spirit, Hag, etc.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2014820#Comment_2014820

Eh, not really. If even one person is a decent looper and takes the Killer on a good chase (100ish seconds) and the other last 30 seconds (short chase) then that puts the Killer in a bad spot.

So long as your team does gens while the other is being chased, in that above scenario, Killer loses even with very short chases.

Maybe your experience is different then mine. But a good killer doesn't often get looped for 100 seconds, even against a good survivor.

  • @Yamaoka said:

Your idea of "balance" is off.

Balance in any PVP game = the better player wins.

If I outskill all my opponents (just theoretically) even a 100% win rate can be balanced.

Making it so I artificially lose to worse players just so a match ends in a 2k no matter how bad they play is not balanced.

    I'm talking basic statistics.

I understand personally as a killer, if you are better you should be rewarded. But you are ALSO facing higher ranked survivors. Who should also be better.

If an average game ends in 3 to 4 deaths, or even 2 to 4 deaths, the game leans towards killer. Even green and purple ranks still tend to lean towards killer in my experience, especially if they run any decent perks.

Again my point isn't too say the game is terrible or need to be fixed. My point is simply that we need to stop complaining about every survivor perk, trying to artificially make the game even easier for killers. Except for ds, which needs that nerf!

  • @MadLordJack said:

In what world is it balanced if a team that's clearly worse at the game than you, and cannot loop you worth a damn, escapes? How did they earn that? Second chances and predropping pallets? Where's the skill? The effort?

There's far more to beating a killer then looping. But I can say the same the other way around. Certain perks make killers near unstoppable. They win with little effort.

I agree though, I'm sure it sucks as a killer when you destroy people and they still all get out

  • @OmegaXII said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2014777#Comment_2014777

Tell you a fun fact. I play killer in red rank, and I expect to lose. Never dared to even dream of winning or even 4K because I’m not masochist.

I believe many killers here have the same mindset as me.

Games get ruined through a few people yelling and complaining on twitter, or forums.

I just know that even in purple ranks, at rank 6, it's pretty certain as a survivor in solo that my team with 90% not make it. And even with teammates I know it's not too much higher.

I'm glad to hear your perspective, most threads I see pop in my Google news feed are from killers complaining, even more then survivors. But maybe I am misjudging

  • @Retromind said:

''Stop expecting 4k, because.... because just stop it!''

Nah man, I will expect 4k every single game I join because if you lower your expectations you become a joke of a killer who is prone to be bullied. Why should ANYONE expect less than 4k when playing as a killer ?

The point isn't that they are wanting to improve as killers, to get 4ks, they are wanting consistent nerfs of survivors.

Killers have insane add-ons that combined with perks can make them absolutely unstoppable. BBQ, mixed with several gen regression perks on a freddy, and he teleports to every gen, he can see where everyone is, and when you have to hide your gen goes to 0.

Red ranks are only a small percentage of the game. The majority of players face 3 to 4 deaths match, making this game very killer sided.

I appreciate the feedback and can agree that red rank survivors MAY be able to beat a red rank killer with Freddy+perks, but I rarely see it

  • @[Deleted User] said:

This shows a remarkable misunderstanding of how the game works; and a very clear one sided mindset that leaves it fairly obvious you have no intention of listening to anything from anyone who doesn't just agree with you or say nerf ____ killer thing.

    Rant away though.

Naa. I'm good with not nerfing killer. Of course I am one-sided. I do play PRIMARILY one side.

My point is not about complaining as a survivor. Or to nerf killers. Just the opposite. My point is that killers come on these forums and online and complain constantly about survivors and their perks, And I simply think the main reason is because they don't get four kills every game. Most games killers average 2 to 4 kills already, seems insane to keep complaining and destroying the game

  • I know I need to get better, sure. My point isn't that we need to nerf all killers, I'm just saying that killer mains need to stop complaining on the forums begging for nerfs. It's ridiculous. The game leans towards killer period. And I think the biggest problem is expectations. Killers either complain because they suck, or they complain because they can't get 4k every match.

  • Also while we're at it, can we just take self-care out of the game? And urban evasion? They are okay perks for good survivors, but they destroy most solo q games. I normally play with friends, but it is disgusting how many people who refuse teammate heals to self-care

Nothing better then watching your rando teammates waddling like a penguin through the whole map when the killer isn't nearby, or watching randos run to the corner to self-care against no-ed.

    Rants over

  • This is one of the dumbest threads I've ever seen. So stupid. And it's another one of the "I got beat so now I'm going to complain" threads.

Dead Hard isn't even the best exhaustion perk... Why would you want to nerf it?

If you sprint burst away from a killer, they can't do anything, and it resets the chase.

If you Lithe away from a killer, it resets the chase. No counter.

If you Dead Hard, you get less distance than any exhaustion perk, but it may help you avoid a hit, which the other perks help you do anyway when used correctly.

Survivors may have a few perks with no counter, but killers have crazily op perks.

Stop complaining about perks that aren't even broken. Once these Nurse challenges are over no one will be that worried about Dead Hard
