Wait so you were in the midst of healing when the other Survivor went down and continued to heal until the Survivor went on hook?
I can see how Xenomorph would have cut you off that way. In terms of ways you could have countered that, if the Aura tracking portion works like BBQ, perhaps getting into a locker would have helped to block the aura? The perk is relatively new so everyone is still getting used to playing against it.
I didn’t expect it like you said it’s new i forget it’s even a thing I also don’t pay attention to the obsession most of the time

The other thing is this topic is upset the perk did something in one game which somehow means it should be nerfed. I don't like this trend of people just wanting perks to do nothing and be a waste of space.
Well tell killer mains that lol

Ok
1) Did you go down while exposed?
If yes, you shouldn’t have continued healing and should have either beelined for the gates/hatch or as far as possible from the downed Survivor the moment they went down rather than wait for them to get hooked.
If no, it would have been no different from the Killer using BBQ/Alien Instinct since the Killer could see your aura and I assume you were the last Survivor
2)What Killer was it?
Xenomorph and yes I finished healing just as it proced like trust me I’m a dead hard user so if I knew I would’ve been exposed I would’ve stayed injured but then I got robbed of a win just because Xeno teleported directly too me and downed me cause I didn’t have anything to work with

You need to elaborate more about this specific scenario about a death hook survivor being caught in endgame and what map it was.
Otherwise I will just assume the Obsession decided to remain near a Survivor that went down and got hooked in the endgame instead of putting as much distance as possible between themselves and the Killer. That would still be a misplay.
It was me actually I was healing somewhere on rotten fields the survivor got hooked I got exposed and revealed to the killer and had nothing around me to loop all the pallets were gone and I died despite looping the killer for 3 gens finishing the last gen all got wiped away because of that perk and I had no time to react it’s mainly a problem with high mobility killers
-
Hopefully buff the perk back to a 5 second stun and make it activate twice like off the record I’d like end games usage but too many people don’t support the idea I feel like if it deactivated in 16 m of an exit gate or maybe 20 it would work for end game but this perk needs a fat buff to counter this whole tunnel for easy wins situation we have going on.
it’s making survivor just not enjoyable anymore and we need something drastic with this buff

@appleas said:
Regarding the exposed effect, isn’t Hubris more dangerous since the exposed Survivor would be way more closer to the Killer to have stunned them?
It’s more about a survivor is on death hook in the end game and the killer just gets to find where they are for hooking someone and it makes them exposed
-
i win 90% of my games as killer around the same amount if I’m in a swf on survivor.
-
@VomitMommy said:
You need to hook a survivor for this, how is it different from BBQ, or Alien Instinct as aura reading perk?
Exposed and it’s map wide and on a killer with mobility way too strong for end game especially when that survivor is in a dead area

Survivors really just don't want killer perks to do anything
You do realise I play 50/50 and main phead have over 8k hours around 3-4 of them being in killer what do you have to say to that ? A lot of killer players ask for nerfs to any perk that helps survivors in anyway

Again I've played since 2018, and I'm a Chucky in the game.
I have persisted on Survivors have 3 Healthstates via Deadhard dodging and Deadhard for Distance for YEARS. I'm a Chucky here so his M2 is so easy to use Deadhard on.
I celebrated when they reworked Deadhard. I do not want to endure and persist 3 Healthstates Survivors again for years again!
Edit: I don't know if people forgot what Deadhard was like in 2020 or there's alot more new people here but I do not want it in my every trial like 3 Years ago.
I’ve played the game since 2017 you just need to get over it I want every survivor to run anti tunnel perks because it’s needed in the game I mean decisive is getting buffed dead hard is the healthiest it’s ever been OTR is only useful with decisive like what’s your issue the meta shakeup was a disaster we don’t want one of them
-
Yeah just tell the killer where the death hook injured survivor is that’s balanced

Giving someone a guaranteed escape was not fun and that is why the devs have wisely decided (as he just explained) to make it deactivate. I myself got so many free escapes with the perk back in the day.
Bro I’ve played since 2017 I have over 7k hours in the game and all the killer has to do is go for the unhooker
-
Honestly they need to fix hug teching like with wesker it’s impressive but with blight it’s just so cringe like easy to pull off every Blight does it and just gives them cheesy downs that aren’t intended I can’t wait till they absolutely gut his add ons tho

It is clearly not intentional for the BT basekit, the devs were very clear about the purpose of this mechanic. I also highly doubt they reworked OtR for this.
Blight isn’t meant to be able to hug tech neither is wesker oni shouldn’t be able to 180 and abuse a terrible hitbox the devs don’t care about the intended purpose of stuff

I generally don't respond to anyone who writes "this would kill the game", because it already shows scaremongering. If old CoH/DH didn't kill the game, removing body blocking wouldn't even remotely affect the player base. But the fact is that body blocking is often being used in situations where it was not intended, such as BT basekit and OtR, and in these situations removal should be a point of discussion.
Body blocking is an intended part of the game and used it every form of comp

I'm not a killer main, I'm not doing any mental gymnastics, and there is no such thing as "earned" or "deserved". If you get put on the hook and die, you lose; it doesn't matter how well you played beforehand, and it doesn't matter how badly the killer played either. Just because you reached the endgame doesn't mean you should get a risk-free escape, you haven't won until you've stepped through the exit gate and the killer is allowed to stop you from doing so.
I main Pyramid Head and I think decisive and off the record should be on cages I think it should be end game why because that won’t affect good players

Bro we aren’t gonna agree so don’t try change my mind my opinion is killers don’t deserve a pitty kill or an easier time in end game just because they are bad like if I equip a perk why should it be disabled the killer main feel sorry for me victim mentality has been around for years I know it when I see it :)

Well I mean there is such thing as tunnelling during the end game please don’t start the killer main mental gymnastics with me in my opinion if you haven’t earned the kill during the game you don’t deserve the kill just because it’s end game but that’s just my opinion

Coincidentally, it also used to work during the end game as well. The issue here is at that point in the match, being unhooked made you practically untouchable. If the Killer chose not to go for you, you could still run in and take hits to protect the others. If the Killer did go for you (or was forced to because you're taking hits), you could crawl to the gate in most cases before the perk ran out.
In other words, as soon as you got unhooked, you were safe. There was zero risk because as long as it was equipped, you would be able to make it to the gate before it deactivated.
I’ve played since 2017 I know about endgame decisive I played just before mikey released lol but I think personally it should work but deactivate within range of an exit gate so you can’t force decisive at the gate for one last HAHA to the killer

They have to be really careful here since no perk was as unpopular to the other side as DS was. It was worse than old undying and ruin to survivors. Perhaps they should just rework the perk to something else.
That’s strange most killers mains said decisive strike was fine the only time I had a problem with ds was before the conspicuous actions Nerf but after that it was perfectly fine I don’t see them completely working ds it would be a sad day if they do it’s such an iconic perk
-
@Peanits said:
I know the developers won’t read this
👀
But more seriously, this is not something we're considering doing. Decisive Strike in particular was like this before. The reason why this stipulation was added was because it would punish the Killer even if they chose not to tunnel. If a Survivor who was unhooked decided to work on a generator, cleanse a hex totem, or something else that the Killer would understandably want to stop, they would have to take the stun anyway.
The goal of these perks is to protect you for a while after you're unhooked. If you've been unhooked and decided to start repairing a generator, you're not exactly being tunneled. We can't expect the Killer to ignore you while you work on a generator in front of them.
What about letting decisive strike Being active end game ? Why should I do well all game and get tunnelled out by a blight end game with no protection I find that stupid in all fairness I’m so happy you guys are buffing this perk but I think all it needs is 5 second stun maybes if no end game it works twice per game ?
-
THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING like why are we waiting so long for decisive strike to be useful again welp guess the game will be miserable for the next 6 months
-
The killer main victim mentality has been around since I started when you realise killer isn’t that hard and if you were actually good at the game you can win 90% of your matches by hard tunnelling.
i play both sides and killer is the easiest it’s ever been you whack on 4 slowdowns and tunnel and boom easy 4K…
I come from a time when there was infinites instaheals pallet vacuums old dead hard and more so yes survivor is weaker than it was back then like it’s a fact you just got to be good at the game

"I think Decisive should actively punish killer who wish to hook the survivor just after being unhooked, not punish a killer for winning a chase and letting someone slugged."So here's the issue with this. Survivors will go out of there way to harass/annoy a killer to force a DS even if the killer has no interest in tunneling. This is another form of weaponizing DS. How? Granted this is DS from another life, but it's still a prime example of how survivors can weaponize perks.
Jane was hooked 2 HOOKS AGO.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhke0kH3gD0
Clearly you see that I had no intent to tunnel (How I avoided Yui, deep wounded Feng and continued the hunt for thickness) but I still got punished. Granted a situation like this will never happen again with DS, it's still a prime example of weaponizing the perk.
I think killer players just have a bad taste from all the people weaponising it but also survivor is a lot weaker than it was back then

I dont know what bHVR is planning to do, but making DS any stronger will sky rocket the use rate and we will have the same problem.

I mean, most second chance perks are situational (if you healed after getting unhooked DH is useless against perks/add-ons/killers that make you exposed; OTR will go wasted if the killer simply doesn't hit you after you get unhooked; Unbreakable, Soul Guard, Second Wind and Deliverance are never guaranteed to give value, Adrenaline might not give you a health state if you're sick against the Plague, and it can be countered if you're getting carried by the killer...) and that's probably fine, a second chance is really really big all things considered and it's good that it's not given out for free. I agree that a slightly bigger stun duration would be great on DS - but that aside I think the perk is perfect as it is.
Oh yeah 100% most of them are situational since the dead hard nerf I don’t run adrenaline as I trust my E more lol 5 second stun imo perfect I have made about 30 posts on decisive and glad the devs are finally doing something about it.
dead hard decisive OTR in the right situations can be just as good as old decisive but very rarely the amount of times I’ve been hit off hook so otr wasted into a decisive to get range attacked after getting off the shoulders because I made 0 distance

I disagree 100% with that, that's not how I remember it at all. I only remember loads of DS and us playing through them, either slugging people for a minute to burn it out or picking up the person anyway. That is the EU experience I recall.
Tunneling were 100% in the game back then and it might even be worse back then than now.
I’m an EU player lol I disagree but that’s ok people can have opinions I think without basekit bt sometimes it could be worse but it’s definitely worse now in my experience I’ve chewed through a lot of decisive strikes in my killer time lol and have tunnelled quite abit until I realised how miserable I was making the game for other people and just realised id rather express skill than rush a win

When I play survivor I mostly play SoloQ and duos and DS (+ Dead Hard, that I purposefully wait to use after DS) never leaves my build. It's super useful as it gives me time to get to a safer tile where I can then use DH when needed. Again, 1 or 2 more seconds for the stun would be great imo but to say it's a useless perk that's leaving players to rot is just not true. OTR is currently better (I just fine the stun part of DS more fun lol) and if you combo it with the 2 perks above you can really cost the tunneler the game, granted you also loop aside from using the perks.
It's not "getting a free kill" lol, it's having the chance to get one last kill in endgame. The killer can still leave the game without a single sacrifice if the team plays the EGC well. Having DS active in endgame would be a completely free escape, though. Perks like OTR, Dead Hard and even Deliverance can still be used to have relatively safe options in those endgame situations, and they are not as cheap and granted as prime DS was.
Decisive is so situational tho you gotta admit it dead hard is the one perk that has never left my build since 2017 I feel like it should deactivate in 20 meters of an exit gate but I know that’s likely not gonna happen I’d be happy with just the five seconds back
-
@Emeal said:

It wont change a thing though, I played back when 4 DS a match was still a thing and Killers still tunneled.
If you want to kill tunneling address the issues that makes Killing one player fast the best possible strategy, bHVR cant do that with a perk.
I’ve played since 2017 and I started a killer main I don’t want people thinking this is some survivor bias because I play both side but I think a 5 second stun and it deactivating in range of an exit gate is a great idea for the perk I think if you take a protection hit it maybe could deactivate to stop body blocking it’s not gonna fix everything.
but back when there was 2-3 decisive strikes a lobby you were seeing less killers tunnel by a mile off I have been fighting for this perk to get buffed for so long I’ve made about 20-30 posts on it because it’s the only thing that made a killer think twice about tunnelling someone out I think it should put head on on cool-down maybes and something to help body blocking but something needs to change
-

Then it will be abuseable with Head on again AND loads of people will use it again. No Thanks.
And don’t say someone can force a head on DS you need to be tunnelling them and chase them to a locker but also they could make decisive put head on on a five second cool down

Yeah I honestly think after the buff every survivor should run decisive strike if you don’t tunnel you won’t eat it if you body block they slug you guys have gotten used to easy tunnels and so what if it had synergy with head on don’t tunnel boom you won’t get hit with it
-
@Emeal said:
bHVR obviously want to take their time with it and it has to be balanced as well.
They cant just buff DS like everyone wants either.

Prime DS granted free escapes during EGC and allowed survivors to sit on gens in front of the killer's face, since conspicuous actions didn't deactivate it. I'm all for considering buffing the stun duration for 1 or 2 additional seconds, but to ask for old DS back is to ask for the return of a completely busted perk that can be used extremely aggressively against killers.
Also keep in mind that DS can always be paired with other perks (OTR, which is not just nice but one of absolute best survivor perks, and stuff like DH or Lithe) and be used aggressively by coordinated teams that can plan these things out with voice comms.
I get wanting a lil DS buff (i don't know if it's possible to check user history in these forums, but if it is you'll see that I also asked for a DS buff months ago) but it's important to remember that survivor perks are the same among SoloQ players and coordinated bully squads with a plan and with the possibility to do bodyblocks much more effectively. It's important to try and balance the perks taking into accounts both of these types of players
This game can’t be balanced around swfs any longer while letting solo queue players rot I’ve played this game through every variation of decisive strike I play both killer and survivor 60/40 in favour of survivor.
that being said yes I’m a veteran player I have played since 2017 and decisive strike after the conspicuous actions Nerf was perfect the funny thing is why should your perk be turned off end game to guarantee the killer a hook it’s funny that killers think they deserve a pitty kill I really find it hilarious you don’t deserve that kill just by hard focusing someone end game when you got juiced all game

Guys we kinda need the decisive buff sooner than April to June you can’t leave survivor in the sorry state it is Atm it’s not fun getting hard tunnelled out with mediocre anti tunnel perks that are nothing compared to old decisive strike.

For 2, we might be seeing a complete overhaul. They could change the perk effect entirely.
I think completely changing an iconic perk like decisive strike would be a weird move since it’s been a staple perk for years now everyone knows what DS is all they need to do is change the stun to five seconds and then it would be perfect
