Has there been a change to MMR recently?
Hey all,
Just wondering if there has been any recent change to the MMR, or if anyone else has noticed a difference in matchmaking?
The last few months have been great for me. I'd win some games and lose some, which is exactly how I think matchmaking should feel. On average, I'd get around 7–8 hooks and 2 kills per match.
But since this Tuesday, things have changed drastically. If I'm lucky, I'll get 2 or maybe 3 hooks, and then everyone escapes.
At first, I thought I was just unlucky with matchmaking and had run into a few high-hour SWFs. But after several days of this, it's getting to the point where playing Killer is becoming borderline annoying.
Has anyone else noticed a similar change since Tuesday, or am I just having an extremely unlucky streak?

There is no MMR system — it's why you see new players being pit against veterans every once in a while.
BHVR confirmed in their last stream that their upcoming MMR changes are calculating off games currently being played but are not affecting matchmaking.
As it stands, the game basically just throws whoever with whoever. Hopefully soon that changes.
there wasnt a recent change. And its unlikely they would do adjustments in the background when they are actively working on a complete rework of the system.
There is one though. Its just a badly implemented one, as it only calculated by kills and escapes and nothing else. Also short waiting queues are priorized over actually fitting matchmaking.
I have yet to see any evidence there is an MMR system.
Even the most rudimentary MMR system would never pair a new player (who will almost definitely have <50% W/L) with seasoned/veteran players sitting above 50-60% W/L.
well..
As already said, short queues are favoured, which was confirmed by BHVR themselves, as well as backfilling and obviously when not enough Players in the needed mmr bracket are available.
Then there is also initial calibration, SWFs, smurf accounts, hackers, Cross progression, people mainly playing one side but rarely the other ..
I might mix this up with another game and don’t have a source, so take this with a grain of salt, but i think it’s also been confirmed that those in the BHVR Partner program have specific queues where it’s more unlikely for them to be queued with often reported players(?) which may screw matchmaking a bit overall
Also ever heard of Engagement-Optimized Matchmaking? (Not saying BHVR is doing that but… its a thing in other games and yeah, many players from many games complain about this kinda MMR problems..)
Then you need to look for this yourself but there is (in)official confirmation of DbDs MMR and even the softcap (Players above are pretty much just thrown in the same pool regardless of actual rank) which is very easy to reach? I think some content creators even in the Partner program have Videos on that..
there is an MMR System. Just not satisfyingly implemented. Just saying it doesnt exist isnt really gonna solve anything and isnt useful constructive criticism
The matchmaking system is non-functional so you will be matched with/against players of random experience and skill level every match.
You can just say you don't have anything to prove the MMR system exists.
You could just google it yourself but I dm‘d you.
No need for a thanks, you are welcome
Just switch from fckn around to serious sam. Eat them up with proxy camping, hard tunneling and tons of pressure.
Did i mention i currently play billy mainly and have a few hours in the game? You obviously can't do that with some of the low tiers in the cast.
The game does have a semi functional MMR system.
a few things I noticed that makes lobbies feel worse
1. If the lobby has been dodged, you can be filled into it with no regards to MMR because the person who was correctly put into that lobby decided to dodge.
2. que times being longer can make the matches feel worse (I think it evens out when it gets to long because people dont lobby dodge)
3. Certain times I noticed tend to be on average more balanced. My fave time of play is during weekdays. (at least in my region)
4. MMR may have gone up so when you are searching for a match its more likely to pull from higher MMR pools.
in the end tho it can really just be luck of the draw but just a few situations ive noticed.
It's like I said, you can just admit you can't prove it.
I am having somewhat the opposite issue. I have been playing this game pretty much since it started as a survivor main and for the last 2 or 3 weeks I have been paired with other survivors that are either new or complete morons nearly every match. I used to escape probably 40 to 50 percent of the time and the last 2 or 3 weeks that has probably went to 20 percent or less. But I am getting paired with survivors that are just horrible. Up until recently my experience overall was still enjoyable. But recently being paired with the total idiots I am being paired with nearly every game is taking every bit of joy out of it. I don't know if there was a huge influx of newbies that came in with having Jason or what it is.
Now, we can all see where your maturity really sits at.
that almost looks like you are one click away from seeing the proof that you still claim is not existent, though i am not sure of showing this openly on the official Forums is permitted. So I would have advised against that
