Consoles Are the Reason for the Skill Deficit in DBD.

I think I have figured out where all the whining from the surv side is coming from. It's consoles. I've been getting put into lobby's with only consoles recently. They've all been awful except for the very few handful that actually play the game. Most of the consoles I get in my matches just run face first into the killer, don't look behind them, and have no clue how to run a simple window or pallet. And the worst part is, I can't take off cross-play because I will lose my queue bonus. I honestly wish I could just queue with people on PC and get my bonuses. If you're on console I urge you to learn to loop, please.

  • This is a party game if people don't want to sweat it isn't their problem. Whining comes from both sides across all platforms please stop pushing us vs them, it is a very annoying and overused topic and only pushes for a more toxic community. The game has seen a surge of new players so lobbies has been out of whack as of late. Many new players do not learn how to deal with chase properly for quite some time unless they actively aim to get better at the game. The fact that the tutorials teach nothing and you have to use content creators for knowledge over the game doesn't help either. I experience players being pretty bad on both PC and console I do not hold anything against them it is simply a game that people use to blow off steam.

Stop pushing us vs them and toxicity its pathetic

  • I'm on console and this is a pretty unkind way to approach this. There are a few things to consider:

This game is free for PS and Xbox premium subscribers, so you have a constant influx of new and casual tourists. This means a lot of bad players that don't care that much about the results of the match or at getting better.

Console players have to deal with input lag.

    Consoles are capped at 60fps.

I can tell when I'm playing against survivors on kbm at 120kbps. These people are very hard for me to deal with when they're skilled. I simply cannot move like they can with joysticks.

"Learn to loop" isn't a simple solution. There's a gap that is unfixable. You can overcome it with a lot of effort, but you always have to try harder than your opponents if they're good players.

I'm also on console and cannot believe I forgot to point this out. I recently started actually momentum teching (before I didn't think it actually helped that much so didn't feel like it) I would definitely recommend testing it out a bit as it massively helped me in chase for every killer. If you already do this the best I can recommend is Beast of Prey lmao

Have you considered that being against "us vs them" discussion is actually a subtle form of "us vs them" whereby you pit yourself against the "us vs them" crowd?

    Ah, the paradox of tolerance.

To be tolerant, one must be intolerant towards the intolerant.

  • As someone who has been playing this game on Xbox since 2018, you PC players are so delusional. I love how you think that paying an arm and a leg for a gaming computer somehow makes you more skillful and have a higher IQ than those who pay $500 for a console. I fail to see any possible correlation.

The two main reasons why it may seem that console players are generally bad to you is:

    A) most of DBD's playerbase is on console, so most bad players will naturally be on console and

    B) You also simply have confirmation bias.

  • I can't speak on anyone else's behalf but I encounter good console players quite frequently.

Sounds more like a skill issue than a "Console issue"

"learn to loop" as if console doesn't have better movement than KBM. Looping on console is so much easier cause you aren't limited to 8 directions and can hug everything so much tighter. The only downsides to playing on console is no chat and some QOL stuff that comes without access to a mouse. Yes i know bindings can be an issue but im pretty sure you can rebind. I play on both console and KBM and killer is easier on KBM survivor is easier on roller. "You always have to try harder than your opponents" is just wrong on so many fundamental levels. Trying to win is quite literally the entire point, yes i know its casual but still thats the objective, and not going to lie pregame i see 3 console teammates i already know match is gonna be rough 95% of the time. This is just the playerbase console players just dont play enough or care about improving. My impressions of majority console players is that they dont seek to improve their gameplay they are content being bad in their own world. Which if that is what makes yall heppy, then do it but stop complaining when yall get stereotyped about being bad.

But its true console players are generally just bad. I play both KBM and roller and surv is so much easier on sticks than KBM. Yall genuinely have no excuses for continuing to stay bad. There are people in my server that i genuinely dodge because ive played too many bad matches with them. Like survivor console is generally easier to do so why do they all die so much faster than KBM? Maybe yall just dont try and improve yourselves to get better and are just content at your current skill level.

I think you're confusing the words console and controller. You can use kbm on console and controller on PC. Consoles are limited in their performance. They're also all different in those performances. A PS Pro and a Switch 1 aren't the same. But neither have anything on a great a PC.

You really can't tell me the camera controls with joysticks are better than a mouse though. It's night and day.

Mate performace is not the issue i play on not the greatest software for PC and I have a switch which already tells you how quality the console is. I don't get more than 60 FPS because I can't. Even still just being able to move around use the camera is not that motor skill heavy. Also majority of poeple are not plugging a KBM into their tv/console to play dbd. 9 out of 10 times console players are on controller and PC players are on KBM throughout the match. And yes i am saying that camera movement is easier on controller because it is. On KBM you have to mainpulate the camera to hug loops which sometimes makes seeing the killer harder. Not the greatest exmample for sight but the main pallet on nostromo is so much easier to move around with controller than KBM. The reasoning is I have the hold my direction keys (WASD) and then manipulate my camera to that i can move outside of the 8-dimensional cap. But, because I am moving my camera I am also movign my mouse which I have to constantly adjust so that I can hug the loop as tight as possible. On controller I don't have to adjust anything i can move my camera freely wherever i want it and have non-dimensional capped movement.
