Wesker's Vault hits you with any timing

I tested this recently and timing was changed to be very precise otherwise Wesker would hit you but right now after Jason patch or bug fix patch there's no timing at all and he hits you every time no matter what, sort of like with the Ghoul not so long ago.
This feature was existent for a very long time and sort of a skill expression, without it Wesker just counters any good pallet and there's nothing you can do, I'm not sure if this is intentional but bring the timing back.

  • I mean good, vault backs, unlike for other killers such as the ghoul, are terrible for Wesker. This is predominantly because Wesker has one of the slowest power vaults (maybe Krasue is slower not really sure), slow to the point where at the majority of loops it is pointless to vault. This means in the circumstances in which Wesker does vault he is A not gaining anything and B can have more taken away from him than any other killer with a vault back. This change so that the survivor cannot gain generational distance against the killer is good.

  • Wesker got many buffs during last two years for base kit adjustments - hug tech for example. His valult isn't the worst but is one of the worst, tbh if Wesker vaults you should be able to rotate on most loops.

  • Good, about time

As far as I know it was supposed like that what do you mean? It just didn't really work for ages xD

They finally fixed it, that's all!

It's not "that" slow, it's fast enough to counter any safe filler / god pallet without any skill expression / decision making.
With pallet density it's probably will be fine in most of the loops but sometimes it will create terrible situations where you die no matter what you do.

It's for that reason I think that power vaults are flawed as a whole, except in the case of legion. I do however believe that this mechanic should remain to exist as it is literally supposed to deny the vault back and has been since Wesker's launch, it has however been perpetually bugged. If anything is to happen about this brain dead playstyle I would look into the power vault itself instead of making a completely unintentional mechanic apart of the game, especially when the vault back itself was quite weird and inconsistent.

  • This is how its supposed to be. It has been bugged for years like his hits when survivors were jumping on a window.

When Wesker was released people did complain on how useless his vaulting was as he didnt have an ending collision and survivors could just always go through him and vault back before he has a chance to act. So the answer was that they did add a collision to make impossible for the survivors to vault back + an extra hit if he is near them after vaulting.

But it has been bugged for years and there were some windows where the survivors could still vault back. It was a bug, not a tech or something…

If now there is always a collision, then it works as intended.

  • Yeah that is totally fine as what logic does it make that you can just run into the killer and vault the pallet behind them that they should be physically blocking and you are there on his hitting distance. Not to mention even in the example survivors is on Wesker's face when he lands so if you really think that should not get you hit then I don't know why you think so. Good it was fixed.

This is about the same level when they finally fixed the killer hitbox preventing pallet save on the same side of the pallet that he is picking up. Then people complaining that its bugged when logically would make sense you should not be able to clip into the killer to do the save.

It wasn't "bugged" it's been like that since PTB and it was intentional counter, from time to time they fixed it but then brought timing to revault back. Before Jason patch timing was exteremely precise and you would fail in like 60-80% of time trying to revault, leaving this trick as a last resort, right now you'd fail in 100% time. So they either need to bring revault back with hard timing making you taking risk while attempting so or change vault itself so it doesn't counter some of the strong loops leaving survivor 0 chance because this is just bad design and Wesker above avarage killer by itself.

Sorry but it wasn't a bug, it was always intentional. Just like people mistakenly calling crouch tech a bug, it isn't.
Him doesn't hit survivor vaulting right in front of him yes most likely a bug, they tried to fix it and ended up breaking him hitting survivors 2 steps away after vaulting the window.

When Wesker was released nobody called his vault useless lol, people were complaining just like against the Ghoul because this is awful design until most of the people found out counter to it. But on release it was easy timing, they made it harder throughout the years just like 2 weeks ago they made timing extremely precise and if you miss you get a hit. Btw Wesker always had a hit if survivor is too close during his vault since PTB.

Im sorry but you are wrong here on many levels..

It wasn't intentional. When Wesker came out a dev literally said that "they will add collision and a hit when wesker vaults" and they did. They didnt mention anything else at all so the fact that was "some timing to still vault back" was probably non intentional.

And the "Wesker always had a hit if survivor is too close during his vault since PTB" that is completely false. Wesker didnt have any hit on PTB if he did collide with the survivor after vaulting a pallet with his power. It was added after the PTB as people found that vaulting back made his vault completely useless.

It was, they fixed it numerous of times in the past (when there were no timing at all, it was fixed completely) and then brought it back shortly after just with different timing. If they wanted to fixed it completely it would've been fixed 2-3 month after PTB, everyone was talking about it, everyone knew about it, it was a counter and it was intentional.
Just like with the Ghoul recently > they fixed revolt completely so it worked like with Wesker right now, no matter what you did he hits you whenever you try yo revault > they saw backlash > they removed damage when you close to him when his vaulting completely.

Well I don't remember exactly, maybe it was since release, doesn't really matter, the point is timing always existed since PTB and it was back in 2022, they did fix this numerous of time and then double down on it.

But again, in PTB Wesker didnt have any hit or collision after vaulting. Literally everyone could phase inside him and vault back with no timing.

In fact, if i remember correctly, after they added the hit and the collision, people were still phasing through him with timings, and they actually did try to fix that some other times with no avail.

If now there is always a collision then it seems to be working as intended.

Also, about the "if it was bugged they would have fixed it in 2-3 months since PTB". My guy, its BHVR we are talking about. Takes years to fix bugs. In fact, funnily enough, Wesker being unable to hit survivors on most window vaults was recently fixed after 2 years or so from being reported.

He did have collision and hit on release but people could still do it with proper timing, then they did change that timing from time to time, sometime they even completely fixed this revolt but double down on it later with just harder timing. Some "bugs" became features and being embraced by the devs cuz this vault is not a balance design and should have counter play, not 100% but sort of a last resort. Crouch tech also being called a bug by many and they could fix it long ago but they don't, whenever they fix such stuff it takes away from skill expression and makes game more stale. You want to believe that they couldn't fix this since 2022 for 4 years straight then you do you but I know for a fact that they fixed it 2 or 3 times thought this time and then double down on it because this thing should have counterplay.

Literally added on Live after PTB. So no, on PTB Wesker didnt have any hit after vaulting.

Edit: Ah, you did mention on release. My bad then.

But anyways it does have counterplay. Funnily enough in your first video you could just, you know… walked around the loop and you probably would have reach the pallet again before Wesker.

I mean, i have seen many high level comp players play Wesker and they just never use the vault because its useless on like 90% of pallets. There are even some "god" pallets that you can vault and the survivor can still reach the pallet again before Wesker.

His vault is already pretty "meh" even with the collision, there is no need to nerf it more.
