Show team info / perks during loading screen

I understand not wanting to show perks during match lobby due to "lobby-dodging" but I think that showing perks during the loading screen is good because it allows survivors to read eachother's perks/loadouts without the need to go AFK during the actual match (while still penalising survivors who DC due to their teammate's perk choices).

It would also make the loading screen less boring as currently, it just shows the DbD logo and some random tooltips.

agree here no reason why we cannot have this.

  • I agree but, you can still leave and end the match during load screens, dunno if you get a penalty tho.

  • this would be a great idea. the loading screen only gets used for anniversaries why not use that for something useful?

  • If someone quits while the match is loading, it cancels the entire match. So if someone really is DC'ing because of someone's perks (which does not make much sense) they should do it in the match so there is at least a bot.

tbh if someone's willing to crash over their teammates' perks, that's not someone i want in my games, because theyre the type of person who're gonna dc over the slightest inconveniences anyway. and with as much love to the dbd bots as i can possibly muster, id rather not play a match at all than play one doomed from the start because we have a bot at 5.

I'm in the same boat, brother. I use Treacherous Crows and I'm over people actively bringing the killer to me because Invocations aren't allowed to be used. Let them dodge

Even if you've been in the killer queue for 5-10 mins? You get no priority when the match previous was cancelled (but it would be a good feature!)

I mean some builds are genuinely worth dodging.

I had someone with No Mither + Self Care, I'd love to hear an argument as to why I should've been forced to play with this person.

  • I actually like the idea of showing teammate perks during the loading screen. It would be more useful than the random loading screen tips, especially for players who already have enough hours to know the basics.

That being said, I understand the concern. If someone sees a teammate running a weird tome, daily, achievement, or challenge build and decides to crash or DC during loading, the whole match can get cancelled. With how low the tolerance level in this community can be, I can see why BHVR may not want to encourage more loadout dodging.

But the bigger issue to me is the current in-game implementation. Showing teammate perks in Match Details is a good feature, but opening the tab should not completely lock your character. It feels very unfinished that you basically have to stand still and do nothing just to check your teammates’ perks.

This should be a basic UI/input problem to solve. Movement and normal gameplay input actions should still work while the Match Details screen is open, or at least certain actions should continue. In many games you can open the scoreboard, check items, builds, cooldowns, or stats while still moving or continuing basic gameplay. League, Dota, Call of Duty, and many other games manage this just fine. You don’t suddenly go idle because you pressed Tab.

In DBD, this matters even more because the few seconds while the camera rotates around your pawn at the start of the match are not enough to realistically memorize three teammates’ full loadouts. If the goal is to help solo queue, then the information has to be usable during the match without forcing the player to waste time or stand still.

So yes, loading screen perks would be nice, but I can understand why it may create dodging problems. The cleaner solution is to make the Match Details screen actually usable during gameplay instead of treating it like a hard pause menu.

Also, on the topic of lobby dodging: I still think pre-match profiles should be hidden by default. There is no healthy reason for people to check hours, profiles, or names before the match and decide who they want to dodge or tunnel. Character names are enough before the match. After the match, names should be visible for reports and accountability. But before the match, hiding that information would make the lobby healthier overall.

Honestly? Yes. When I'm playing killer I want to actually play the match, I don't want someone giving up early on and thus I either steamroll the team or farm, both of which are boring and make me wanna play the game less lol. I'd rather deal with someone crashing the lobby (frustrating) than be bored out of my mind.

But honestly I think it should be before the match begins, because lobby dodging is much more manageable than people just giving up and has minimal impact on my games.

And I agree! Which is why I think it should be in pre-game lobby; those who want to dodge can dodge, its their time they're wasting not mine, and those who'd be prone to give up over every little thing stay out of the games for longer. It's a win-win.
