Dont buy Jason after these nerfs

BHVR needs to learn to respect our intelligence enough to actually play the game theyre making balance changes to. Its completely obvious that most of the balance team either doesnt play this game or are survivor mains. You nerf Jason but leave the survivor elusive perk untouched? Like are you kidding me? Theres too many videos online showing killers losing survivors for simply hitting them. Jason now isnt worth the money with the bad animations and lackluster perks, I say vote with your wallets boys. Let them know we dont want slop

  • The survivor perks are not coming with Jason's release. They'll drop at a separate time, possibly with nerfs.

We simply don't know what they're doing with them yet.

Generally its not as bad as you think, it just nerfs boring playstyles like camping. they even buffed a few of his add ons. Hes still a fun looking killer, and weve waited so long that people are still gonna buy him

  • I'm buying Jason day 1. He was a ton of fun on the PTB and the only nerf that effects how I played is the one to coroner's coffee and it honestly needed a nerf.

    Theyre not getting nerfed man.

All i heard lately from my buddies who have pc were how strong the add on was

  • You never know, you gotta stay positive

  • It's wild that a perk (that's probably getting nerfed) can make this community throw such an extreme temper tantrum. The perk has nothing to do with Jason and won't even be releasing alongside him. You either like the killer's kit or your don't. The potential existence of a survivor perk has nothing to do with that.

What about the instances where I have to camp? There used to be no rules in this asymmetrical PVP horror game. Now I have to be nice to the people im supposed to kill as jason. Its such an insult the the franchise. Also hes getting slowed down for making on the fly descisions. Which always feels terrible. You getting nailed to the ground for 2 seconds for having to cancel your power or actually come out of your power? Now I just get to watch survivors run away lol

What about his animations? You cant honestly sit there and tell me theyre awesome and worth your money. This is the beauty of capitalism man, you dont have to put up with slop

Its the fact that that perk isnt getting nerfed but jason is. Trust me they'll farm you for your money pre nerf, make killers deal with it for 2 months and then slightly nerf it like they always do. Im tired of this model

  • Idk man ive lost faith in bhvr. They dont play their own game yet make balance changes based on numbers. So when I paly as legion and everyone's running around trying to get flashlight saves and not doing the objective, i get a 4k and that leads to legion nerfs

Many of the devs play the game after hours, you can see that in a few messages in a thread or two. and yes they play both sides

Can we stop spreading fake news, the devs actually play the game lmao. I promise you that your mediocre gameplay will not affect the balance changes.

You can still proxy camp with Jason super easily. Just throw your spike at them. Same way you can proxy with Huntress, Trickster, Springtrap etc.

All they did was disallow him from leaving to pressure elsewhere, then getting back to hook for an immediate tunnel without some kind of penality to it. Now camping has a proper opportunity cost.

What about his animations? You cant honestly sit there and tell me theyre awesome and worth your money.ย

Valid criticism. I still think the rest of his design makes him worth playing, though.

It's not a fact. They have released zero info on what changes the survivor perks are getting. They specifically said that's not what's been announced since the survivor releases later. These aren't just temper tantrums, they're preemptive ones.

Your numbers are a little off. Fast Track was blasted into near uselessness a couple weeks after the rework. All it takes is a few CCs whipping their drones into a frenzy and that's that.

You do realize that killers get changes both after the ptb and after some time live? The last killer received several nerfs a few weeks after the ptb despite not even staying very popular. This is normal.

  • Anything in a PTB is an unfinished product. The finalised product is when it goes live. It always blows my mind how upset people get with post-PTB changes. It's literally why the PTB exists.

The survivor chapter is a separate release to Jason's chapter, that's why we haven't seen any potential changes yet. The devs have clarified this already. People also seem to forget that they also need to sell the survivor chapter, and the only real thing they can offer with new original survivors is perks. The survivors themselves are just a skin essentially, they don't do anything new or fancy. New killers, on the other hand, come with new powers, and potential synergies that affect game balancing are a reality of that. So it's pointless comparing the two.

Yup, it was incredibly strong. You don't really get the full haste time because some of it is spent in after throw slowdown but 13% haste was massive and the "downside" of pushing the survivor further was regularly to Jason's benefit as it pushed the survivor away from resources or towards edge map if you were a bit more careful with when you hit them and that's before you consider the possibility of the survivor colliding with an obstacle and not even getting the extra distance.

May i ask whats your opinion of the Deputy Badge? im on switch so i havent gotten the choice to play Jason, and ive heard that too is a immense add on in terms of strength?

Its the one being reworked. The strength of the old version is that it lets you sidestep understanding killer macro (keeping some track of where each survivor is and which gens are likely being worked on) and just go directly to where you now know survivor are or at the very least to a gen that needs to get kicked. Omnipresent Evil makes it incredibly quick to hop over and do what you need to do at the location and the relatively quick recharge lets you go right back to something else as needed with the add-on providing information on where to go the whole time. In this sense its strong as an assist to learn killer macro but if you crutch on it you won't improve. Once you have killer macro down you were better off running something else most of the time and my personal preference was the brown that gives him the haste for longer.

Its new version seems stronger to me so long as you have that macro down, you don't need to leave Omnipresent Evil to regress a gen and can go right on to wherever else you need to go. Unless the survivors stop working on the gen and crouch before you get close, unlikely given how fast you move unless they do it the moment you enter the mode and at that point they are not progressing the gen, you know whether or not they are there and can Jump Scare as needed.

The survivor is going to be original as far as I know - that means iri shards can buy them. Jason's the only one who's going to be farming anyone for real money.

  • One thing I am concerned about with that add-on is how frequently you can hit the same gen. They just updated the text but not the functionality on the PTB so I couldn't test it to see how it actually works. If Jason can just keep bouncing between gens like a pinball with Deputy Badge that's going to be obnoxious.

  • If you are still around and not banned when they come to Live, I will remind you of that.

Because I can make my own decisions on what I like an dislike. Amazing right?
