Hook RNG

Had this wonderful hook spawn layout today. Not a single hook in this whole huge area. I've never noticed a hook dead zone this bad. Everytime I tried to pick someone up the hooks were too far and I had to drop them again. I'm not the slugging type, but this forced me to leave people on the ground and re-pursue them once someone got them up. And, of course, they kept going over here. So they probably thought I was huge dick, but I just had no way to hook them. Can we add consistent hook spawns to QoL?

It was like 1/4 of the map. There was nothing behind me either.

I encountered issue with hooks that aren't able to be used/or bodyblock the way to loop much more frequent than this one you posted here. So I’m genuinely impressed such thing exist in this game

Not a fan of those ones that run paralell to a wall either.

  • Speaking of strange things theres this pallet at gideon that leads to a breakable door and thats it. lol Literally a trap.

  • I experienced this a while ago on Grim Pantry too. Somewhere in this corner between main and the small two floor house.

The only hook which was remotely near this complete hook dead zone was on a hill with the way up being on the opposite side. So on top of the walk to this hill I would have had to go all around the hill itself. No way to get up there with the downed survivor, probably not even Iron Grasp would have helped. And both hooks which are usually found at main weren't there. Not sure, if it usually is only one hook on one corner, but that main had no hooks at all. Basement also was in shack.

Thankfully it is rather rare, but for some weird reason it obviously can happen.

The question is if it is only a rare bug regarding map RNG or if it happens more frequently to people.

I wonder too. If they hadn't kept going down over there I might not have even noticed, but they kept going back for their items so they kept getting downed there. It was a ridiculous match. I'm actually surprised only one botted out. I wish I could have gotten on comms and been like "I'm sorry there are no hooookkkkks."

  • I wonder if this is a by-product of the pallet changes.. Like, filler tiles can either be hook locations or weak pallets and it's picking pallets too often right now.

    Cause that's ridiculous.

  • Sometimes theres huge gab between hooks and maps like gideon are pain because hooks arent super far but getting to them is like solving maze and put sabbo squad here and your game wont be playable without slugging. Another sweet spot is on badham under main building if basement doesnt spawn there and hook rng is bad around main (not to mantion survivors have some perks to make hooking them harder or sabbo even one bodyblock is what it takes) so you kinda done down there. I have seen some rng where there was no hook in like 30 meters radius around me but this what you posted luckely I havent get so far.

I have experienced this after the bloodmoon event where was the blood gens and blood pumps (which spawned on hook spawn places some people claimed), after that event I have seen so many hooks turned more to the side even some especialy on rpd which were almost along with the wall and you coudnt hook there.

I have noticed that too on certain indoor maps, where some hooks that used to be at a 45-degree angle, now is turned parallel to the wall, making it really hard to hook survivors on them.

They kinda fix it little but hooks are still closer to walls then they were before that event till now I would say, some were harder to get hook but some like the one on rpd was just trap that showed you hook there but you couldnt hook there so it was free escape for survivor which is same as free down for killer and can cost you game.

That's an intentional thing that's been in the game for a long time you know. The big wall opens up when the gen behind it gets completed and makes this random pallet a god one.
