Why is majority of dbd fan base such crybabys? Checkmate boys
Im editing this to explain how toxic the community is, I like ips and the orignal dbd killers, other people differ instead of keeping their mouth shut they target ips for no reason trying to block them from being added to the game if dbd had a poll they basically would vote not to add any, the reason being? They're edgy? They literally have no reason to call ips goofy what is goofy about it? You're basically calling ip retainers goofy for their ideals

I personally don't want any more IPs. Original characters are cooler and more creative. I know they'll keep doing it because $$$ but I think it's kinda goofy.
But yeah, The Thing or Tall Man would be okay if I have to have IPs. At least those have classic status, unlike the last few IPs, which are only a decade or so old.
Or yall can stop complaining and have both while having a good home for probably the most popular horror game for horror characters right now, yall wanna act edgy when in fact ips are whats keeping this game alive there's nothing wrong with that dbd does its part only reason yall think its goofy is because yall are 300 pounds snorting cheese wiz, its clear none of yall keep of with post from dbd their in it for legacy more than money so get the stick out of yalls ahh and let a game breath
It's just personal preferences. Some people want X and Y in the game, other's don't, but they want Z. That's just humans being humans eveyrone has different tastes. I don't really see how having preferences or opinions make anyone a crybaby though, you might have to explain that one to me.
So people are cry babies because they don't want what you want?
The part their crying about is when they lie saying its goofy
Really out here exaggerating stuff?
Not sure why you are using ai, I mean this is essentially asking ai if 2+2 = 4. Everyone knows IPs bring in players, just check player count numbers.
I mean why wouldn't people downvote your post when you're basically saying "if you dont like what I like, you're a #########"?
Whats with this response? They just said they prefer original content over IPs cause it lets devs be more creative.
You sound like you're the one with the stick up your ass.
...did you really ask an Ai to back you up and post it back onto the forum thinking it was a gotcha?
Man, whu don't we phone in Tay Ai and Grok and consult the whole council of robot overlords, since actually substantiating our opinions is too much effort nowadays.
Why use AI when you could've came to this conclusion with basic research?
Thank you at least someone understands
People don’t want certain IPs because they either prefer original Chapters, or they just want different IPs.
The general toxicity of this community does exist, but I feel it’s largely overblown.
I agree 💯 I know i kinda got frustrated on my first reply but it was because I was like why not just enjoy both because dbd is literally doing perfectly fine even with all the bad stuff going on we get both ips and original content ever month or two thats why I was calling them cry baby's cuz ips literally did nothing wrong 😂
People staring pretty ordinary opinions is neither edgy nor being a crybaby. And it certainly isn't lying. I think having some obnoxious, screeching anime boy chasing me is very goofy. Not everyone likes what you like.
Humans are ever interesting things, aren't they.
What it boils down to are EXPECTATIONS, BETRAYAL, ENTITLEMENT, and THE ILLUSION OF CONTROL.
People expect experiences to go a certain way, and that often isn't the case.
When their expectations come crumbling down on them, it takes a mature and seasoned mind (I wish that I had one of those) to recognize that there is no intrinsic FAULT for that betrayal but their own; folks often look for a shadow to cast their negativity onto instead of accepting that they may be wrong.
Folks are often entitled too. We are all like that before we find our manners, grabbing toys and shouting "mine" at our parents. It's natural, human nature.
So when a human plays this game expecting a result and doesn't get it, there are the "others" to cast blame onto: the other side (Killers/Survivors) and the developers themselves. We can always villainize the enemy and shirk the responsibility of being WRONG off of our own shoulders while we do so! It's what allows us to continue our entitled ways and step into each trial grumbling about expectations before the first generator pops.
It's easy to see why some folks get into a match and quit when they are downed in a first few seconds, see a survivor use a perk they do not personally believe is fair, or experience a gameplay element that is at odds with their personal ideations of what a 'fair' match should look like. They have an idea in the back of their minds of what a match SHOULD be or WHY things should happen, and are constantly butting heads with reality when the facts stare them straight in the eye.
Finally, the bare truth about all peoples across the planet, is that we humans struggle with the ILLUSION OF CONTROL.
It seeps into the lives of everyone throughout everything. Silly people think they can dictate what is right and wrong about politics on the other side of the globe, they think they can influence the minds and efforts of their own family, they feel responsible for the actions of a stranger, they fear the burden of events in a work environment that do not concern them, they invest a painful amount of time and emotional effort on social connections in a blind conviction that they are somehow responsible for the actions of other people.
Pulling that element into an asymmetrical, high pressure, horror themed deathmatch tends to make people cry little rivers of tears because, deep down inside, they have not relinquished their fictional control and ownership of the game to its natural resting place. Every defeat turns into an indictment of their personal worth, their skills and value are called into question during a misplay, they feel the weight of responsibility for their teammates and guilt for what others experience, they feel anger and defensiveness when another player is rude to them, they experience levity and inappropriate elation in humiliating those they consider inferior. It is because Dead By Daylight, in the ancient reptilian brain, is not a shared experience that is a gift.
Humans are very silly. They are often immature, scornful little crybabies. But when they learn to find their footing and stand upright, those same people - you'll find - can be extremely insightful, funny, and wise company to have.
We'll always have crybabies in the community. But we'll also have our good friends in the fog to count on until they grow up.
Yep I agree but when people blatantly lie dont be upset cuz someone calls them out on it
Why are you changing the goal post? You target the most blatant killer that doesn't match the theme 🤦♀️ that doesn't speak for all ips so I ask again how can "ips in general be goofy" cuz the first comment said all ips in the future, I redited this comment because I got a week ban for this look at this image this is the tip of the iceberg you can have pin head putting hooks into players faces 🤣 but no cursing
Although this thread looks like a bit of a hot bed... to possible answer where fallout may come from, criticism of a franchise or IP is not only something to be expected, but something that should be actively encouraged. Its all a matter of taste, but if nothing can be critiqued, then there is no way to define a proper scale of quality, and anything goes.
An example point is, just because something is fictional, doesn't mean you can pull anything out of your butt whenever you feel like and expect the audience to remain invested. In fiction you can establish any rules you want, but what you have established them, you have to stick to them, and the more the rules hold up as you look through those stories, the stronger a franchise is. Sure its possible for audiences to write additional plot elements to explain plot holes or plot contrivance, but a well made and well written story doesn't need it.
If I think of all the IPs in DBD, while I am a big fan of vast majority of IPs in DBD, there is not a single one with a spotless record of releases, and being passionate and critiquing those IPs comes with the territory.
As some quick examples of my own critiques:
Any respective fans of each of these franchises will of course have their own opinions. They may agree with me, they may disagree with me, but it is only natural to debate and argue about the quality and merit of a piece of work.
All of this is to say, if something can't be critiqued for it's horror alignment and horror quality, then there is no way of defining a standard. If I said "let's add My Little Pony to DBD", I doubt I'd have much support... but if the defence is "well I like it, and would like to see it in the game", then what possible objection can you give that doesn't shut this argument down?
A staggering number of people will complain about any and everything in this world. The community is no different. It is what it is; No one should let anyone in any game phase them in any way.
Youre whole point falls apart when the ips didn't even get a chance to come out yet how can you criticize all future ips is my question in the first comment there's a complete oxymoron in it he wants classic killers but when I mentioned pennywise I got downvoted and he dismissed it
To be fair, your post is editted, and I can't see that argument... so I had to surmise the discussion based on a unknown hypothetical IP.
I also don't think my point falls spart, as I haven't said anything to contradict your support of particular IPs. To paraphrase what I said, I said the addition of any IPs should be subject to critique/gate keeping and expect to be met with resistance, because while IPs and support for them is all personal preference, debating on their quality and horror alignment in the only way to define a meaningful scale. Without doing this, literally any IP is fair game.
The examples I give are examples of bad entries in even major iconic horror franchises, with the point bfing, if these were the only entries in those IPs, i would not support their inclusion either.
As it so happens, I would support Pennywise being added to DBD, but epuld have to bevthevright version. While I do like the original Tim Curry version of IT, I would not personally accept this version as the version for DBD, and would insteadvaccept the remake version with Bill Skarsgård. Reason being the original has a much less consistent horror tone, and it's fear factor largely relies on Coulrophobia to frighten people, and doesn't have much beyond that. Meanwhile the remakes Pennywise is objectively more horrifying even without taking Coulrophobia into account.
I agree with everything your saying but tell that to the other people lol im literally defending it, also I think its not hard to implement a fear featuresfeature for the og pennywise they could get it done but im fine with either
