When the Anti Camping is going to actually work?

I'm a killer main, but of course I also play surv.
Just went on a match against a classic: Basement Bubba with Insidious.
Anti Camping was suppose to prevent this, right?

I already knew what I was up against the moment a surv was hooked in the basement, but my solo queue team members not. I just went to the basement and let the killer finish me.

  • The feature is an Anti-FACE-Camp feature. If the bar didn't fill up the killer was out of range of the system. The system itself works as intended.

The actual issueis rather that some killers like bubba, Trickster, or Huntress miss a built-in Anti-Camp-feature like Singularity, Artist, or Dredge have (the killer can't use their power near the hook or gets punished for using it).

  • "I'm an X main, but....."

Automatically discredits the post. Your opinions are your opinions, it doesn't matter what side you say you favor.

    Precisely.
    Anti-FACE-Camp.

Bubba was face camping the surv in the basement and it wasn't enough.

Also what you said about the projectile killers.
For these killers the range should be extended.

The survivor may not have wanted to jump off. It's not an automatic thing.

If Bubba was directly facecamping the survivor and the bar did not fill up, then maybe another survivor was around because the mechanic stops when a survivor is nearby/within the range. It could also be that the hooked survivor did not used the mechanic to unhook theirself. If Bubba was facecaming and no other survivor was nearby and the barwas not filling up then maybe this was a bug. It's difficult to say without seeing what actually happened in the match because it could be anything.

No, just increasing the range for these killers would be an easy but not a good solution.

  • I have the same gripe - but iirc Mandy has confirmed that the mechanic is, indeed, working exactly as intended and does exactly what the devs want it to do. For all I personally care, they should've called it Anti-BM-On-Hook mechanic cause that's what it effectively is.

You can always just dodge the projectile, go other side of survivor, and rescue without any real injuries

    Yes, I know.
    This makes sense.

Yes, but depending of the situation the killer can be "unpunishable" for camping.

Honestly I didn't thought about this too deep to find flaws.
Just as you said. It was the easiest solution I could come up without thinking too much.

It's indeed working as intended, but there's a lot of other stuff in the game that are too and we all know why these are an issue/are not effective as they should.

Ah yes, maybe that didn't come across: they seem to yount it as a "reviewed" thing where it is as effective as they want it to be; hence working exactly as they want it. — Still doesn't make it good game design, as far as I'm concerned. But that's the dev position ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it has been made abundantly clear that they don't plan on doing anything beyond what the "AFC" mechanic does.

(quick edit: actually, lemme see if I can dig up the very thread where Mandy replied and clarified a few things. - At least for me.)
