Temporally banned after getting disconnected...
I was just playing a match when all the sudden I got disconnected, also receiving a whole day penalty for it... Really? I mean, I didn't quit, I just got disconnected from the server God knows why. At first I thought it was a server issue, disconnecting everyone.

How many times had you disconnected/quit before this event?
Its a cumulative penalty.

I know. That's what I'm trying to understand why I got banned in the first place, since it was a disconnect issue.
But how many times did it happen? If it was just once, that's inexplicable, as you shouldn't go from zero to 24 hours for one disconnection.
But if it happened multiple times, you probably should have stopped playing for a while. Can't be certain, but if you got the penalty, the issue is most likely on your end (your network). I've been booted and received a penalty before, but if it happens more than once in a short period, I'll just stop playing and give my connection time to stabilize.
Their system can't differentiate between an intentional DC, unplugging your ethernet, or your internet crashing.

To get a 24 hour ban it requires a LOT of DCs, I mean you've gotta be DCing from many, many games in the course of like a day or two.
If you're DCing THAT much, and continue to play, knowing you're likely to keep DCing, then yes, that is your fault.
As harsh as it sounds, then they should not play Onlinegames.
The other 4 players in your game dont care if you ragequit or just DC frequently due to poor internet. The result for them is the same.
Not really, the penalty adds up ridiculously quick. And why are you assuming I'm DCing from "many ,many" games? Are you in the match with me? No. Are you in my lobbies? No. Don't put words in my mouth

It happened just once. There were a few matches prior where the killer got disconnected and we all went back to the main menu, but no ban penalty.
Well, yeah. And there's no "fault"; If you don't have the luxury or the option, that sucks, but is simply is what it is. People can't reasonably expect BHVR to scrap their DC system because someone's internet sucks.
I lived for years in a place where the best internet I could get wasn't stable enough for anything more than the most basic online gaming. So I didn't play online games. And I lived through it.
But what I was more advocating in my post is that if your internet is acting up (and everyone's does from time to time), just leave it for a while. Reboot your router and take a walk. Watch a movie. Read. Play an offline game. Come back to it later.
There are lots of people out there that just keep banging their head into the wall (metaphorically) when their network is having an episode and then cry when they get penalized more. Like when a page or something won't load and people just keep spamming the button like it's gonna change something.
The penalty doesn't add up ridiculously-quick though. Your first DC is a 1 minute ban, then 5 minutes, then I think 15 minutes, then 30, then 1 hour etc I don't know the exact timings because I've only ever gotten upto 30 minutes a couple times, maybe 1 hour once.
Also, for every 24 hours or so you don't DC, it gets reduced, so even if you do get it pretty high, just a week of no DCs will basically reset it to 0.
My point is you need to be DCing a lot and DCing regularly in order for the penalty to even get close to 24 hours. They purposefully do it this way so if you get a random one or two DCs, you're basically not punished. Which is fair.
Assuming there isn't some weird glitch that gave someone who never DCs a 24 ban for their first DC, which unless I see other people bring it up, I'm gonna assume isn't the case, then it's wholly the DCers fault.
