So... We definitely need to talk about this.
Someone had messaged me on PSN today comparing prestige to RACISM, yes you read that right.
Prior to that message, they were in this same game, this particular player ended up griefing it by telling the killer where I was, refusing to do gens and working with the killer. (I got 2 gens to 50% and the rest of the time I was being chased). Them meanwhile, still couldn't do a gen, just healing and running around.
Now the reason I'm saying all this is because maybe it's time to change the type of report functions that are in the game. They should be more specific than vague and they should allow you to report for exactly what the issue is.
This will not only make the game better overall, it will help the dev's to understand what type of trends are starting to become more popular so they can address these issues a lot sooner rather than later. Yes there's the chance of false reporting too but that's why with the new system mixed with the forums it would just make more sense.
And maybe, just maybe, people should start to be accountable for what they say out of the game in messages about it. This last sentence is a bit of a conundrum I can't lie.

Another reason prestige levels need to be hidden until end game. Sorry you got that message but I get teammates pulling that on me weekly. If the killer is cool they will tunnel the traitor out of the match.
I find it best to not give them an outlet to reach me. I keep chat hidden and except my photo and little profile on steam, the rest is hidden :)
They can keep their ridiculous comments to themselves.
I've been playing solo as of a few days ago so every interaction is good, except when they're bad lol.
The killer was focused on me cause I was making him mad so my teammates could do gens, he ended up giving up chase a few times however.
I wouldn't even have wasted the time to think about it, people like that do it only to get under your nerves, he was just pressing you
Not quite sure I understand, still trying to piece together how one would make a comparison of Prestige to Racism with a straight face...
However outsideof that, I definitely feel like the reporting needs to be overhauled, especially for console.
All I can do is report in one if 4 vague categories. I don't even get the ability to type a message. The annoying part is PS5 has functionality to capture recent gameplay quite easily, so I could actually make a decent report if the game allowed me to... but I have no doubt my reports are totally ignored right now.
I still do it on principle for DC and SoH players, but it's frustrating 😒
reporting dc’ers does nothing. Their bans are automatically handled, so you’re just flooding support with those reports.

The thing you are talking about is simple griefing.
We do have a proper report for that. If I'm not wrong - It's in the "Trolling" section - Working with the killer (Other side).

Its kinda a term people just throw out there these days, even if it doesn't make sense.
Its just to make people listen, like how BHVR only listens when people say they can't play certain aspects of the game due to health issues. That is when changes get made.
Oh, the last teammate was working with the killer at the end because I was wasting all the killers time and he couldn't get me, so after unhooking him and then having the killer find him, he got knocked and then the killer let him back up and he brought the killer to me, which got me knocked, as he then proceeded to he tb me on the floor and then point to the hook for the killer, so I messaged him saying "of course it's a high prestige griefing my game" (because that's usually who it is that griefs my games), and then I got that message as a reply.
And trust me, the messages that he sent me after we're a lot worse, one even mentioned germans and jewish people and what happened in history to them.. I never mentioned anything of the sort to him before or after it was mentioned either. I would have loved to report this person for this specific type of behaviour that I witnessed as it's honestly shameful and pitiful at the same time. I shouldn't need to experience anything like that.
